Interesting thread ideas. Crafts from threads with your own hands, master class. Thread accessories

This year, one of the most popular crafts were those that use the method of thread cocoons, that is, crafts made from thread and glue.

So Tatyana Tkachenko decided to return to this method again. To fix this material, and at the same time to see its unlimited possibilities and all the secrets of work and material selection.

Crafts from threads and glue, tips and secrets

Although the simplest and most common crafts made of thread and glue are balls, this method can be used to make not only them. I suggest you admire the works that can be done using the method of thread cocoons.

Admire this beauty, and only then we will move on to a master class in which Tatyana will reveal absolutely all the secrets of making crafts from threads and glue with her own hands. Do you agree?

Some subtleties in the manufacture of crafts from threads and glue

At the competition, as you probably noticed, there were balls of thread, each of the participants made them in their own way. Of course, there were operations that cannot be bypassed, but each of them has its own trick. That's what I wanted to talk to you in this article.

So, what do we need to make balls of thread and glue:

1. Threads.

But there is a little trick here too.

The threads should be loose so that they can be easily “glued”, i.e. absorbed the glue.

This is a very important condition.

Dense, silky, tightly twisted threads are poorly impregnated with glue.

So thread or yarn is an important factor for successful work and high-quality results.

2. Glue.

This is the second factor affecting the quality of work.

This glue is good, but if it is very thick, then it should be diluted with water in the proportion: 1 part water to 3 parts glue.

There are options when needlewomen replaced PVA glue with regular stationery glue and the result was no worse.

You can make another version of the glue.
To do this, you will need PVA glue, cornstarch and water. Take a bowl, pour 1.5 cups of PVA glue into it, gradually add 1/2 cup of starch and 1/4 cup of water and stir.

The proportion of glue, starch and water can be different depending on the density of the PVA glue. The mixture should be quite liquid (liquid sour cream) so that the threads are well saturated with it.

3. Ball.

At the heart of most crafts made of thread and glue is a ball. So take a balloon. But don't make it too big. Experienced needlewomen recommend a ball diameter of no more than 15 cm, and for small Christmas or Christmas balls, you can take a fingertip and thus get a ball with a diameter of 6-8 cm.

We will also need: scissors, a Gypsy needle, petroleum jelly or cheap fat cream, a bowl.

Master class "Crafts from threads and glue with your own hands"

Here, too, not everything is simple. Do you think that you can just take and wrap the ball with thread? Not! There are several options for preparing threads for making thread cocoons. Let's look at all the options.

Option 1. Threads can be soaked in a bowl, especially woolen ones, and then wound around a ball.

Unfortunately, this method has many disadvantages. You will need to unwind the threads and carefully place them in a bowl. I assure you, no matter how carefully you put them in the dishes, you have a chance that the threads will get tangled.

Cut the thread into short pieces? It is possible, but this also leads to inconvenience.

Let's consider another way. I just want to clarify that the threads are soaked only in PVA or in PVA glue diluted with water.

Option 2. We pass the thread through the bottle. To do this, we take a “Gypsy” needle, thread a thread into the eye and pierce a plastic bottle with glue with this needle. We do it close to the bottom. Glue can be either PVA or clerical. And we put the threads in a jar.

Option 3. Use a Kinder Surprise Egg. To do this, use a red-hot "Gypsy" needle to make two holes in the egg, from the ends. Pour glue into the egg, close it and stretch the thread all with the same needle. Passing through the egg, the thread will be smeared with glue. Any glue, either PVA or clerical.

After you have chosen one of the options for preparing threads, we proceed to the process of making thread cocoons:

Inflate the balloon to the required size (diameter);
lubricate the ball with petroleum jelly or oil, or cream;
tie the thread to the base or glue it with tape;
we wind the threads so that there is a sufficiently “thick” layer.

The ball after drying should keep its shape;
dry the ball, at least a night, and better, as needlewomen advise 1-2 days;
when the glue is thoroughly hardened, gently pierce the ball with a needle;
carefully remove the ball, being careful not to damage the threads;
decorate the ball with sequins, rhinestones, sparkles, tinsel, etc.

I hope that I have described the main stages, but who, if he wants, can supplement my article with his experience. But how to make a flower out of a thread ball? I am sure that the photo below fully answers this question.

I think that by March 8 it is worth making a bouquet of tulips using the thread cocoon method. This craft made of threads and glue will look just great and will please the one to whom you want to give such a bouquet.

It turns out that not only voluminous products can be created from threads, but also stunningly beautiful applications. Colored threads, a piece of linen, glue, small shells, cardboard, small grains - and on your wall “a lonely sail turns white”.

How about this one colorful cat that so recklessly spilled milk on the floor?

Garland of threads

New Year's Eve or a party at school will become even brighter if you decorate the festive hall with a garland of thread. Flickering cobwebs on the walls from floss lampshades will make the evening truly special and mysterious.

It is not at all difficult to make such lampshades: inflate a small ball, wrap it with threads smeared with glue, let it dry. Pop a balloon and put small lampshades on the bulbs of an ordinary garland. Enjoy your colorful holiday!

Thread decorations

Great news for little fashionistas! Ordinary, at first glance, threads can become an original decoration. A luxurious necklace, funny earrings, a stylish bracelet - you can make jewelry for every taste from threads. A little imagination and patience - and now you are the queen of the ball.

Thread hedgehog

If you love soft toys, but it's too expensive to buy a new fluffy every time, I offer a reasonable alternative. A funny hedgehog made of socks and thread pom-poms will cheer anyone up! And the animal is made very simply. Here look.

DIY thread crafts in their history, there are probably as many years as the threads themselves. Not only children and kittens love to play with balls, but for adults you can find many interesting ideas for which you can use such material.

Beautiful DIY thread crafts

Toys for children can be called the most beautiful crafts from threads with your own hands. Ritual motanka dolls, soft pom-pom products, all of them are loved by kids all over the world. It is so easy to fold some elegant figure out of multi-colored yarn, for example, as you can advise to make a composition-mobile with thread bullfinches, truly winter birds.

For each bird, we will need to unwind three bundles of yarn, each of which will have its own color. These bundles are made very simply - the thread is unwound in a circle, then the circle is folded and cut at both ends. We connect two bunches of contrasting colors perpendicularly to each other, that is, we throw their centers over each other. We tie the third bundle in the middle with a matching thread. Since our birds must be voluminous, they must be based on a filler that holds its shape well. A crumpled newspaper ball will successfully cope with this task. We wrap it around with our third bundle so that the center tied with a thread is at the top. Now we apply another, double beam so that the upper strip forms the head and back of the bird. We tie the ends with threads below, and we get a tail. It remains to stick or sew eyes on the toys and attach a thread for attaching to the base of the mobile.

DIY thread crafts for children can be created in a truly magical way. Agree, soft threads are not always associated with durable Christmas tree decorations, but it’s worth lubricating them with glue and shaping them, and these will already be luxurious garlands, and openwork, and planters, and flowers (if the blanks are cut in the center). For such a craft, you will need a base, balloons are indispensable for this. For the convenience of their further extraction, you can pre-lubricate the ball with something (for example, petroleum jelly), but you can do without it. It should be inflated to the size that you need and tied with a thread tightly, because it is very important for us that its size and shape remain throughout the day. Now we begin to wrap the entire surface of the ball in threads, and we can do this both in a chaotic manner and by depicting any patterns. After the surface is closed, it is necessary to process it all with PVA glue. The most convenient way to do this is with a kitchen sponge, sparing no glue, the material should be well saturated with it. Our semi-finished product needs further drying, its average time is 24 hours. However, you will have to judge by the state of the yarn, if it has become hard, then the ball can already be removed. You simply cut the thread, the air comes out of the ball, and the rubber shell is easily removed, leaving the finished craft.

Similar children's crafts from threads with their own hands not necessarily done purely for the New Year, the technique can be applied to any other holiday. For example, such a cute Easter toy can be made from glued threads, but only after drying it is cut to the desired shape.

How to make crafts from threads with your own hands

More familiar, their creation is taught in the garden, at home, and at school. However, as a creative task, you can teach the baby and learn for yourself, how to make crafts from threads with your own hands, which will be a beautiful alternative, for example, to paper flowers. It is worth learning how to make carnations from nylon threads (they are sold at any hardware store).

We wind a tight nylon cord onto a dense piece of cardboard, as for making a pompom: cut the edges, fixing with a thread in the middle, Insert a wooden skewer into the bottom of the hourglass and fix it with hot glue. Then we raise the lower part up, fix the base so that we get a slight thickening near the stem. For decoration, we wrap the stem with green woolen yarn. From the same small green pieces we make sepals. We cut out narrow leaves from thick paper (creped) or fabric, which we glue on the stem. At the very end, we trim the heads of the carnations with scissors, giving the petals the correct shape.

For the following do-it-yourself thread crafts master class very complicated, but the legend associated with this product is ancient. These filament panels are called the mandala of desire, there is a belief that by weaving one for yourself, putting a lot of work and positive emotions into it, you will surely achieve the fulfillment of your most cherished desires.

From dense threads and unnecessary pieces of even the cheapest fabric, you can make many useful household items, such as rugs that will be very relevant in modern country-style apartment interiors or Scandinavian style, which extols everything natural.
