How and what to feed a child at 1 year and 2 months. The main products on the menu of a one-year-old child. Nutritional considerations for cow's milk allergy

A one-year-old child knows the taste of many dishes and products, such as fish, meat, soups, cereals, vegetables and dairy products. But for some kids, breast milk still comes first. Together with mother's milk, the baby receives not only all the necessary micro and macro elements for growth and development, but also communicates with his mother. Therefore, do not take it away from the chest early. Breastfeeding is recommended to continue until about 2.5–3 years of age. At this time, the child is already fully accustomed to adult nutrition.

Consider the questions of what the baby’s menu should be, how to make a diet for every day. Find out which foods are healthy and which are harmful.

Principles of feeding a one-year-old child

Baby food every day should be healthy and varied. The diet should include all the necessary substances for the growth and development of crumbs. During the preparation of dishes, it is necessary to take into account the physiological characteristics of the digestive system of the child, since he cannot chew food until 1.5–2 years old. During this period, to feed your child mom should grind food through a strainer or chop with a blender. Stewed vegetables should be given in chopped form, meat should be ground. Kashi should be made rare.

The utensils for feeding the crumbs should be made of special food grade plastic. The main advantage of such dishes is low thermal conductivity, so it does not heat up, and the baby will not get burned. And also such dishes do not break and do not make a roar when falling, which can scare the baby.

It is very important to observe the diet of a one-year-old baby: 4-5 times a day. At the same time, you need to feed your baby at the same time. If you follow this rule, your appetite will be much better, and the digestive system will have time to prepare for food processing. If the regime is not observed, then the baby does not develop a reflex, which contributes to the release of gastric juice and food processing enzymes. Accustomed to the regimen, the baby will not be capricious before eating.

Before feeding, you should not feed the baby cookies, buns and fruits. It will kill his appetite. He will begin to refuse food, which threatens with various pathologies.

It is best to breastfeed your child in the morning and before bed. In the intervals before feeding, you should not drink it with sweet tea or juice, so as not to spoil your appetite. Baby food needs to be prepared with minimal sugar, as children quickly become accustomed to sweets and it becomes difficult, and sometimes impossible, to feed the baby with a normal, healthy and essential dish.

For children under three years old, it is better not to salt the food and in no case add spices to it.. Onions or garlic can be added. However, do not forget that new products are introduced gradually and in the morning, as the baby may develop allergies or diarrhea.

A one-year-old baby needs to cook food at one time. And you need to do this every day. After feeding, all leftover food should be thrown away. You should not leave them for the next feeding and then warm them up, because the baby's digestive system is not yet sufficiently formed and cannot digest non-fresh food.

Diet for a 1 year old

The following foods should be included in the diet of a one-year-old child:

The baby needs to be given dairy products specially designed for children. Such products are carefully checked, unlike adults. Therefore, it is recommended to buy children's cottage cheese, yogurt or kefir.

It is strictly forbidden to give whole milk to a child under one year old.. The baby's digestive system is underdeveloped and does not digest whole milk. For this reason, milk should be diluted with boiled water. First, dilute in a 1: 1 ratio (1 part water, 1 part milk). Then the amount of water is gradually reduced, and the amount of milk is increased. Thus, the baby is gradually transferred to whole cow's milk closer to the year. From the year the baby should drink about half a liter. In this case, the fat content of milk should be at least 4 percent.

There are children who have an unpleasant pathology - congenital intolerance to milk. This is due to a lack of lactic ferments in the baby's body. In this case, special milk that does not contain lactose should be included in the child's diet.

The main dish of a one-year-old child is porridge. At first, the baby can be given instant cereals, and then gradually the child is transferred to ordinary boiled cereals. The baby is useful rice, oatmeal and buckwheat porridge. It is not recommended to give semolina porridge to a child under three years old. It contains vegetable protein, which is poorly absorbed by the baby's digestive system.

In order for the child to receive all the necessary elements, his diet must be varied. That is, you can not feed your child the same food for a long time. This is not only harmful to the baby, but also dangerous, since such nutrition can lead to the development of various pathologies.

The menu of a one-year-old child for every day can be compiled as follows:

  • in the morning, milk porridge (150 g) with the addition of 5 g of butter, half the yolk, fruit puree (50 g) is suitable as food;
  • at lunch, you can give stewed vegetables (150 g), 2 steamed meatballs (2 times a week - fish), bread, fruit juice;
  • in the middle of the day it is better to give cottage cheese (30 g), fruit puree with cookies (70 g), yogurt;
  • for dinner, boiled vegetables or porridge without milk in vegetable oil (150 g), mashed meat (50 g), compote are suitable;
  • before going to bed, it is recommended to feed the child with yogurt, kefir (1 glass) or other light food.

If you adhere to such a feeding scheme, the child's menu at 1 year old will consist of healthy foods. At the same time, he will receive all the necessary elements and a sufficient number of calories.

How much food should a child eat at 1 year old

Today, mothers often ask pediatricians what to feed a child at 1 year old so that he receives all the necessary elements and his food is high-calorie enough?

Calorie content of food (including drinks and water) should be 1300 calories per day. In order for a child to receive so many calories, you need to follow some rules, because feeding him is not always easy. In order for the baby to eat well and with appetite the food offered by the mother, you should not force him to eat and entertain at the table. And also do not stretch the feeding for a long time. Eating should last 15-30 minutes. If the child is healthy, but refuses to eat, it is better to postpone feeding for a while until the baby gets hungry. Over time, he will get used to the diet and will no longer refuse.

In order for a child who has reached the age of one to develop properly, he needs (per 1 kg of body weight) per day 4 g of protein, 16 g of carbohydrates. Most fats and proteins should be of animal origin, such as lean meat, chicken, beef, chicken or beef liver. To feed a child, you need to add butter to the dishes. At the same time, you must always remember that fresh oil, if it has not been heat-treated, should be given to the child very carefully so as not to cause stomach upset.

What not to give children

Today, moms and dads are interested in what should be the menu of a child at 1 year old, if you can’t give him almost anything, judging by what pediatricians say? Pediatricians say that many products for the baby are dangerous and destructive. It is impossible to feed a child with many products, but at the same time, his body must receive all the necessary elements. What then to feed a one-year-old baby and how to make a diet for a child at 1 year old?

Yes, the question of what should be the nutrition of a child at 1 year old should be approached carefully, carefully and with due responsibility. After all, improper feeding can lead to the development of various diseases, the treatment of which will take many years and effort.

When accustoming a baby to adult food, it should be borne in mind that such foods as, for example, fried foods, mushrooms, various smoked meats, sausages, sausages are very harmful for a one-year-old baby. These foods should be excluded from the diet of crumbs.

It is very good when vegetables and fruits are included in the diet. But they also need to be fed carefully. Fruits should be given in crushed form, otherwise the baby may choke. It is better to grind them in a blender.

From what products are included in the baby’s menu during the period of development of his body, it depends on whether his health will be good for the rest of his life. Therefore, every day you need to feed your baby exclusively with a balanced diet.

This age is called the most capricious and traumatic in the development of children. At 1 year 4 months, your baby is as fickle as the wind in May, so be patient and watch your baby very carefully.

Physiological parameters of a child at 1 year 4 months: weight, height of the baby

  • Height. For boys, it is considered optimal in the region of 78 cm. The average height of girls at this age is slightly more than 80 cm.
  • Weight. Girls of this age weigh an average of 10.6 kg, boys a little more - 11.3 kg.
  • Head circumference - 45.6-48.9 cm, chest 47.3-53.1 cm.
  • Teeth . According to generally accepted norms, this month the upper canines appear, and the first molars begin to erupt.

Fangs are said to be the hardest to erupt, so stock up on soothing gels, teethers, and strong nerves.

What a child can do at 1 and 4: baby skills at 1 year 4 months

Children of this age are full of energy and cheerfulness. It is very important for a child, in addition to the ability to jump and run, to satisfy emotional curiosity and sensory thirst. Let the baby explore the world around him, using all the senses, and touch, study objects by taste and touch.

What can children do at this age?

  1. The child already gets up on his own, walks, holding onto a support, sits down and turns in different directions.
Of particular note is the ability of the baby to walk up the stairs: up and down, holding the hand of adults or the railing. In addition, he demonstrates attempts to climb onto chairs, armchairs, sofas.
At this age, the risk of injury increases significantly, since the movements of the baby are not coordinated, and there is no fear of falling.
Therefore, do not leave the child unattended even for a few minutes!
  2. Children begin to quite confidently hold a spoon in their fist, try to eat on their own, drink from a mug.
Stock up on patience and bibs. Give the baby the opportunity to independently eat thick foods - mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, porridge.
  3. The kid already knows how to perform simple actions - raise his hands up, forward, take him behind his back, to the sides, rotate his hands, move his fingers. He can do these actions both independently and at the request of adults.
In addition, it is considered mandatory to be able to fulfill the requests of adults “Show me. Bring it. Give."
  4. The child reacts emotionally to different situations: parting with parents, returning from a walk, the arrival of a grandmother, etc.
  5. Children of this age pronounce 4-10 words , know the names of animals, fruits, vegetables, body parts, household items.
  6. Perform certain actions with toys , play simple plot games: they know how to pour sand into a bucket, they can pour water, feed toys, rock a doll.

What to feed and how to care for the babyat 1 year 4 months: child care and diet

As for hygienic care at this age, it can be noted that there is no need to wash the baby often, since he already “goes to the toilet” less often, and some by this time are generally “friends” with the pot.

Everything else is as usual:

  • morning wash;
  • teeth cleaning;
  • evening water procedures.
  • daytime sleep - 2-3 hours;
  • daily walks in the fresh air are required.

At this age, children develop the habit of cleanliness. They begin to wipe their hands themselves, when they get dirty, they can ask to wash.

It is very important to follow the daily routine. To overcome the changes taking place with the baby, he needs confidence in the stability of events.

The daily routine gives the child a sense of constancy and soothes.

You can gradually switch to four meals a day. The fifth feeding in the form of milk or kefir should be saved for children with poor appetite. But it is not advisable to insist in those situations when the child himself shows a tendency to switch to four meals a day.

Approximate serving size for each meal

Dishes are still prepared mainly in puree and chopped form. But gradually, denser food and more pieces are added to the baby's diet in order to develop chewing skills.
Children of this age already have their own food preferences - favorite and least favorite dishes. Listen to the wishes of the child, but do not follow his lead.

Menu for a child aged 1 year and 4 months for a week

The suggested dishes can be taken as a basis, as a general guide.

It is important to change the baby's menu so that dishes are not repeated more than twice a week.

Speech and psychology of development of children at 1 year and 4 months: communication and emotions of the baby

At this age, children's speech begins to take a meaningful form. The kid already knows how to pronounce simple, easy words that relate to a particular situation. For example, when seeing a cat, a baby can say “Kitty” and point to the animal.

  • The vocabulary of a child at 1 year 4 months varies greatly. For one it may be only 10 words, for another it may be more than 50.
  • Stimulate the development of speech in the crumbs by reading poetry aloud, since rhyming lines are easier to perceive.
  • Choose bright illustrated books to read. They help to absorb information not only by ear, but also visually.
  • As you read, encourage your child to try to say a word by pointing to the picture to which the word refers.

At this stage, the range of emotions expands significantly:

  • kids are happy when they succeed and upset when they fail;
  • trying to express agreement or disagreement with facial expressions and gestures;
  • react differently to familiar and unfamiliar people.

A feature of this age is the ability to "infect" emotions and feelings - the baby can cry or laugh "for the company." Children:

  • surprised by the new and afraid of unexpected actions;
  • easily switch attention from one subject to another.

The difference between boys and girls in behavior and emotional terms is becoming more and more noticeable. Boys are more independent and independent, less responsive to the emotions of others. Girls are more receptive, cry more often, like to sit on their hands or hug.

What to do with a baby at 1 year and 4 months old: educational activities and games for a child

The games of the baby at this age are imitative in nature - they are very fond of repeating everything that they do after their parents. Therefore, stock up on toy dishes, a broom, an iron and other similar toys that will help the child feel like an adult.

Properly selected educational games will make the child's leisure time rich and interesting.

  1. With great pleasure, children are now engaged in games that develop fine motor skills, and hence speech centers. For example, a variety of mosaics with large and bright elements. A variety of lacing and bright designers with clinging details are also popular.
  2. The most simple, accessible and exciting game - stringing beads or buttons on fishing line or safety wire.
  3. Pyramids and cups will be great toys different sizes and colors, inserted into each other.
  4. At this age, you can already draw the baby's attention to more complex educational games: simple labyrinths, figurines with inserts, games related to shifting or pouring all kinds of objects.

Girls and boys of this age prefer different toys and games.

  • boys they prefer more active ones, with a ball and cars, but at the same time they spend less time concentrating on any activity.
  • Girls they like to deal more with small objects and plot games: they clean the house, feed the dolls, treat animals.

At this stage, you can start playing educational games to study the world around you: colors, shapes, properties of objects: large - small, soft - hard, smooth - rough, etc.

At this age, children do not realize the need to share toys and do not want to wait even a minute. Psychologists advise in such cases to switch the baby's attention to another object or to occupy him with a simple game, for example, entertain him with finger games.

Just do not overdo it with educational games so that the child does not lose cognitive interest.

We are what we eat. Everyone is probably familiar with this saying. Therefore, many mothers think about how to properly feed their baby? After all, it is important that the child grows up healthy and receives all the necessary vitamins and minerals from food, and not thanks to pharmaceutical corporations. In this article, we will talk about what kind of nutrition for children after a year is the most useful and optimal.

About mode

It will not be a secret for anyone that you need to eat according to a certain regimen. What is important to remember for mothers who have one-year-old children? So, the crumbs should have three main feedings: breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as three snacks: after breakfast, afternoon tea and after dinner, before going to bed. However, these are average indicators, which can be changed depending on the desire of the child and the opinion of the mother. What else is very important to remember when studying the diet of a child after a year?

  1. Food crumbs should be balanced regarding nutrients: proteins, carbohydrates, fats.
  2. Most meals should be pureed or semi-liquid (although the baby has already cut through the first teeth, he still does not have enough chewing ones).
  3. Pieces of food can be no more than 2-3 cm (if the child already has at least a pair of chewing teeth).
  4. It is better to feed the child with meat dishes in the morning.
  5. All dishes that a one-year-old baby consumes should be steamed, boiled or stewed (fried is excluded!).
  6. The average daily amount of food that a child should consume is 1200 ml (this does not include liquid).

Dairy

The nutrition of children after a year must necessarily include dairy, as well as sour-milk products (they contain easily digestible proteins, as well as vitamins and trace elements). Dairy products, in turn, have a very good effect on the digestion of the baby. The following fact will be of interest to many: if a child is given one-day, i.e., fresh kefir, it will have a laxative effect; if the baby is offered a three-day kefir, he will fix it. Thus, the baby can easily adjust the chair. How often should dairy and sour-milk products be given to the baby?

  1. Daily: kefir, yogurt and milk.
  2. Every other day: cottage cheese, cheese, sour cream and cream.

However, some parents may have a question: what to do if the child has lactose intolerance? In this case, whole milk from the baby's diet is completely excluded. Mom can only give baby mixtures. Acquaintance with milk will have to be postponed for at least a year.

Vegetables and vegetable dishes

The nutrition of children after a year should also include vegetables and vegetable products. This baby will be very helpful. However, in the raw form of vegetables, you need to offer the crumbs quite a bit, especially when you first meet such foods. At first, it can only be cucumber-tomatoes familiar to all of us. As for vegetable dishes, then the diet for a one-year-old child can be more extensive. This can already include pumpkin (it is very rich in carotene and is well tolerated by children), beets, yellow sweet peppers (in addition to the potatoes, carrots, onions, zucchini, cauliflower already known to the child for the first feeding). Gently need to introduce greens into the diet of crumbs: dill, parsley. A separate question about white cabbage: it is not so easy to digest and assimilate, so it is still too early to offer it raw, in boiled it can be done infrequently and little by little. It is also worth remembering that a child in winter needs vegetables no less than in summer, so it is better to freeze them. On a day, crumbs can be offered no more than 150 g of potatoes and 200 g of other vegetables.

Meat dishes

What else should be included in the nutrition of children after a year? These are meat and meat products. Their children must consume daily. However, it is better in the first half of the day, since this product is digested and absorbed by the child's body for a longer time. What meat is suitable for a one-year-old baby:

  • low-fat varieties of veal and beef;
  • rabbit, chicken, turkey.

It is very useful to offer the baby veal or beef liver (in the form of a pate), but not more than once a week. The norm of meat can vary depending on the weight of the baby from 50-60 grams to 100 grams per day.

Fish products

A child's diet after 1 year should also include fish. It should be given no more than once or twice a week instead of meat dishes. The average volume of a fish dish: 30-40 grams. Varieties, again, should be chosen low-fat. You can cook fish meatballs, steam cutlets, just serve stewed fillets.

Kashi

What else is worth remembering when shaping the nutrition of a child after 1 year? So, a wide variety of cereals must be included in the diet of crumbs. The average daily volume of their consumption is about 200 grams. After the baby is already a year old, you can safely offer him a variety of cereals, including cereals. It is good to fill them with meat, vegetables or fruits. Instead of cereals, you can also cook vermicelli for a child. Pasta can also be cooked with meat, cheese, milk, cottage cheese. Such actions perfectly increase the nutritional value of the dish offered to the baby.

liquid meals

While the baby is breastfeeding, liquid meals, such as soups, are optional for him (mother's milk does an excellent job with digestion processes). However, if a one-year-old child has already given up the breast, he definitely needs to cook a wide variety of soups. At this age, it is still better to cook liquid dishes not on meat, but on vegetable broth. They are offered to the baby once a day (mostly at lunchtime).

Fruits and berries

What else should be included in the diet of a child after a year? It is also good for the baby to give a variety of fruits and berries. You need to start with apples, cherries, raspberries, currants, etc. familiar to our area. You can consume about 100-200 grams of fruits per day, berries - no more than 20 g.

goodies

Also, parents are often interested in the question: when can you start giving your baby various goodies, such as caramel or chocolate? It is worth saying that until the child is three years old, it is completely better to forget about such food products. You can offer your baby a variety of homemade cakes, cookies, sometimes marshmallows (if the baby is not allergic to chicken eggs).

Drink

It is also very important to know what you can give to drink to a one-year-old baby. It can be boiled or plain baby water. It is also good to give the baby freshly brewed (but by no means canned) compotes, uzvars, as well as juices (if the juices are purchased, you need to see if they are intended for babies under three years old).

About salt and spices

Most mothers know that as long as possible, the child does not need to introduce salt into the diet. But after a year, the baby can already season the dishes with it a little. However, its daily volume for a child after the first year of life should not exceed 1 gram. As for other seasonings, it is better not to use them yet.

Sugar

We consider further the nutrition of children after a year. Recipes for making various compotes are what many more mothers may be interested in. And the main catch here: how to cook compote correctly, without using sugar, but making it tasty. An excellent way out is fructose as a sugar substitute. Its advantage is that it is absorbed by the body more slowly and more evenly, which, in turn, eliminates sudden changes in the level of glucose in the child's blood. The daily amount of sugar for a baby of the second year of life is 30-40 grams.

Other products

How to properly and with what products you need to form a child's nutrition after a year? A nutritional table can be very helpful in this matter. The ideal option: to view the norms and diet of the baby in the children's clinic, where such information should be placed without fail on information stands. What else does a mother need not to forget when forming the diet of her one-year-old child:

  1. Vegetable oil (no more than 6 g per day, add it to vegetable puree).
  2. Butter (no more than 20 g per day).
  3. Bread (about 50-60 grams).
  4. Biscuits (no more than 3 pieces per day).
  5. Boiled eggs (chicken - half, quail - one piece per day), separately: egg white.
  6. If the baby is not prone to allergic reactions, after a year you can introduce honey into his diet (in a very small amount).
  7. Onions and garlic (boiled, as well as a little fresh).
  8. Radish, sorrel (no more than 50 g).

Vitamin complex

As mentioned above, every child should receive all the necessary vitamins and minerals from the food that he consumes. Consider the nutritional norms of a child after a year. Baby meals should contain:

About menu

What else can worry moms who shape the baby's nutrition after a year? We have reviewed the menu. And how and when is it right to give certain foods to your kids? There is simply no unequivocal answer to the question of which menu is ideal for a one-year-old baby. It all depends on the preferences of the child, the financial situation of the parents of the crumbs and many other factors. However, it is worth remembering a few main rules when composing a child’s nutrition after a year:

  1. The menu should be varied. You can not offer the baby an empty potato every day.
  2. It is necessary to carefully expand the circle of nutrition of the crumbs with new products. New foods are introduced gradually, as with the first feeding (this is important, especially if the baby is prone to allergic reactions).
  3. The child's menu should consist of three main meals and several snacks.
  4. The daily menu should consist of vegetables, fruits, meat (sometimes fish). In sufficient quantities, you need to give the baby to drink.

When the baby is two years old

How does the nutrition of children after 2 years? In principle, nothing special will happen at this time, everything that the child began to eat after a year will continue to receive in the same mode. However, at this time, the baby already has about 16-20 teeth, which allows the crumbs to chew solid food on their own and without much effort. Therefore, at this time, the first recommendation to mothers: you do not need to chop all the food for the child, let the baby begin to chew hard pieces, for example, potatoes, on his own from the age of one and a half years. And after two years, the child will not have to grind anything.

What to feed the baby at this time? I would like to say that there should not be any problems with nutrition. Everything that parents eat can be given to the child (of course, if mom and dad eat right, excluding harmful foods from their diet). It is already possible to give crumbs soups on meat broth from time to time (although it is still better that the meat is still low-fat varieties, there is no need to load the children's liver). You can also introduce children's teas into the baby's diet. It is recommended to completely eliminate caramel and chocolate from the child's diet for the time being. They can negatively affect not only the teeth of the crumbs, but also the nervous and digestive systems. At this time, the number of meals will already be reduced, there will be three main ones - breakfast, lunch and dinner, and one snack - afternoon tea.

When the baby is three years old

How is the nutrition of children after 3 years old formed? Everything is quite simple here, most often the baby eats “from the common table”, that is, what mom and dad eat. The child is already old enough to be able to chew all the food that is offered to him. The gastrointestinal tract is already sufficiently formed to digest even rather heavy foods (for example, white cabbage) without problems. However, one should not think that after three years the baby can be offered all sorts of harmful goodies. It is worth remembering: the less the baby consumes harmful foods, the healthier his body. The child can also be offered to try chocolate, but it is still better to do this as late as possible.

What is important to remember

Well, one more very important advice that I want to give to parents: as soon as the baby wishes to take the first “steps” in independent nutrition, you should not refuse him this. And let it be sloppy and not too beautiful, but the baby will start eating on his own as soon as possible, without bothering his mother with this activity.

A baby who is one year old already eats quite diversely. In his menu there are many different fruits, dairy products, meat, vegetables, fish. Dishes for the crumbs become more complex, but his diet is still very different from that of an adult. Let's take a look at what is important for parents to remember about nutrition for the proper development of a child at 1 year old and how best to build a daily menu for a baby of this age.

Features of the diet of a one-year-old baby

In the diet of a baby older than a year, breast milk or a mixture may remain. Pediatricians consider such food useful for the child's body and welcome breastfeeding up to at least 1.5-2.5 years.

  • At the same time, many mothers choose exactly 1 year to say goodbye to breastfeeding. If you also decide to complete this process, try to organize everything with a minimum of psychological discomfort for the crumbs. More preferable for both the baby and the mother's breast will be a gradual weaning with the abolition of one feeding. Read more about this in our article on how to get rid of breast milk.
  • Food for a one-year-old baby can already be varied with the help of herbs and spices. Add chopped fresh herbs (dill, parsley, celery) to children's soups, purees, omelettes. Bay leaves, garlic and onions can be used in vegetable stews or soups. Raw garlic and onions should not be given to the child yet, as well as exotic seasonings.
  • From a year old, you can start adding salt to food for a child, however, the total daily amount of salt added to children's meals should not be more than 0.5 grams (the dish will still seem unsalted to you).

As for sugar, it can be added to meals for a child older than a year, but it is better to try to do without it. Let the child learn to eat unsweetened food. Of the sweets in the diet of a one-year-old child, there can be not only children's cookies, but also marshmallows and marshmallows, but in small quantities.

What should a child not eat?

Feeding Schedule

A child who is 12 months old continues to eat five times a day at intervals of approximately 3.5-4 hours. At the same time, it is recommended that the nutritional value of lunch and dinner be greater than that of breakfast. For example, a child can have breakfast at 8 o'clock, the next feeding will be at 11-12 o'clock, then at 14-15 o'clock and at 18-19 o'clock, and the last one at 22 o'clock.

The diet, as well as the amount of food eaten, is highly dependent on the temperament of the baby.

How much should a 12 month old baby eat?

To determine the total amount of food for a one-year-old child, its body weight should be divided by 8 or 9. On average, children of one year weigh about 10-11 kg, so an approximate calculation of the daily food volume will show the figure 1100-1300 grams. Dividing it into 5 feedings, we get the average amount of food per meal - 220-260 g.

As for individual complementary foods, a one-year-old child is recommended to have the following maximum amounts per day:

sample menu

For a child who continues to be breastfed or an adapted formula, the menu at 1 year old will look like this:

For a baby whose mother decided to wean at 1 year old, an approximate daily menu would be as follows:

On the first birthday of the crumbs, you will want to please the baby with festive dishes, but still you should not give the child food that he has never tried before, especially if the baby has a tendency to allergies. You may well prepare a festive table from products that are already familiar to the little one. And instead of a cake with cream, treat the baby with a cottage cheese casserole, which do not forget to decorate with a lit candle.

  • Continue to teach your child to eat in pieces. Puree fewer and fewer meals for your baby. Give your baby meatballs, steam cutlets, casseroles, steam omelettes, boiled vegetables, cottage cheese with fruit pieces, vegetable salads and other dishes that will encourage the baby to actively chew.
  • Continue to cook food without frying for your child. Products for a one-year-old child need to be boiled, stewed or steamed.

Is it worth giving vitamins to a child from 1 year old? Read about it in another article.

In a year, the child has already learned a lot: he can stand, walk, eat himself with a spoon. He already has several teeth, and the child's menu at 1 year old begins to change. More and more non-ground food with small pieces appears in it, the diet becomes more diverse. In this article, I will write an indicative menu for a one-year-old baby, as well as delicious and healthy recipes that you can cook for your little ones.

Also read the previous article:. At this age, many parents still do not sleep well at night, although it would seem that the child has already grown significantly. In the article I write how to provide the whole family with a good and deep sleep.

At this age, the average child eats 1200 ml of food per day. Of course, all children are individual. Some may eat more, some less. If the child flatly refuses to eat, do not force him. Better make sure he has an appetite. Dr. Komarovsky advises for this to walk more in the fresh air, move more. If, for example, a child does not want to have breakfast, well, he is not hungry yet - do not force him. Go for an active walk, climb ladders and slides. In this case, it is more likely that by lunchtime the child will “work up” an appetite and eat without mother’s tears and nerves.

No need to focus only on tables, look at your child. I'll post the averages. This is not the weight of the food, but its volume.

It is very good if the child has a feeding regimen. Then the digestive tract will already be preparing for the digestion of food and secrete the necessary juices and enzymes. Between meals should take about 3-4 hours.

New products, as before, are introduced gradually. You can give only one unfamiliar product per week, you need to do this for breakfast in order to be able to track a possible reaction in time. If the child has responded well to the new product, the next day you can give it in a larger amount.

If your baby does not yet have chewing teeth, then food should be mashed or mashed with a potato masher. When the first chewing teeth appear, you need to teach the crumbs to chew, that is, small pieces of food may partially come across in the food.

At 1 year, food is prepared without sugar (up to 2 years, sugar is not allowed). Salt is also better not to use, as natural products contain sodium. If you add salt to children's food, then do it in very small quantities. A child can only take half a gram of salt per day. For example, the norm of an adult is 10 gr.

Baby's daily diet

Breakfast. Most often, it is customary to give porridge for breakfast as a source of carbohydrates, that is, energy. Porridge can be either dairy or dairy-free. At this age, many children continue to eat instant cereal from boxes. If you wish, you can cook porridge yourself and interrupt them with a blender. Fruit purees can be added to cereals. If you make dairy-free porridge, then offer your child yogurt with it.

You can also add a small piece of butter and half a hard-boiled egg yolk to the porridge.

In addition to porridge for breakfast, you can cook a steam omelette, the recipe is in this article. You can add greens, small pieces of vegetables to the omelet. You can also have breakfast with cottage cheese with fruit - it is also very nutritious and energy-intensive.

At 1 year old, a child can eat up to 15 grams. good butter and up to 40 gr. white bread.

In addition to food, do not forget about drinks. Be sure to teach your child to drink clean water. In addition to water, you can give compotes without sugar, weak tea without sugar, juice.

Dinner. For lunch, most often, mothers cook soup for the child. It can only be vegetable soup, vegetable soup with meat, and soup with cereals. At this age, children are not given bone broth soups. The broth can only be on meat. The first broth is poured out after 5-10 minutes of cooking the meat and the meat is poured with clean water. The soup is already cooked on the second broth.

Soups have no limits. You can put any vegetables there, and then kill them with a blender along with the meat. In addition to soup, you can give vegetable stew with meat for lunch. You can also start introducing offal: liver, heart, tongue.

Before dinner, you can give your child a salad of fresh vegetables: grate a cucumber, carrot, radish, or chop a tomato. Don't forget the fish too. Fish should be given at least 2 times a week. Fish can be steamed, boiled or cooked in fish casseroles and soufflés. Take lean, white fish.

Do not get carried away with potatoes, as they have a lot of starch. The total number of potatoes per day should not exceed 1/3 of the total number of vegetables. If you give your child a lot of potatoes, this can lead to weight gain, intestinal colic, and allergies.

We also give the child to drink.

afternoon tea. For an afternoon snack, offer your child a curd dish. If the baby is tired of eating just cottage cheese, make a casserole for him. You can put fruits or sweet vegetables (pumpkin, carrots) in the casserole. You can also give your child kefir or yogurt.

Dinner. For dinner, they give meat or fish with a side dish. As a side dish, you can have vegetables (boiled or steamed), pasta or cereals.

If you are still breastfeeding, the baby receives mother's milk before going to bed at night. If not, you can leave the mixture or drink kefir at night.

What not to give a child under 2 years old

These foods should not be on your child's menu.

  • sausages and sausage
  • fried foods
  • oily fish
  • smoked meats
  • fat meat
  • Exotic fruits
  • mushrooms
  • caramel, chewing gum and lollipops
  • sugar

All children have different tastes. Someone loves meat very much, while the other, on the contrary, spits on it, etc.

Recipes for delicious dishes for children from 1 year old

Soups.

Broccoli soup with turkey.

This is a simple soup with a light turkey meat broth. There are only two ingredients here: broccoli and turkey. If desired, you can add other vegetables to the soup that the child is already familiar with and to which they are not allergic (for example, zucchini, cauliflower, pumpkin, carrots, onions).

Ingredients:

  • turkey fillet - 200 gr.
  • broccoli - 5-7 inflorescences
  • water - 2 - 2.5 tbsp.

Pour water into a saucepan and boil it. Rinse the fillet and place in boiling water. It is better for children at 1 year old not to cook bone broth soups, they are too saturated. Just boil the meat. To make the meat juicy and tasty, you need to lay it in boiling water. For a rich broth, bones and meat are placed in cold water, but this is not necessary for a baby.

Simmer the meat until tender, about 50 minutes. Soup can be slightly salted, literally a pinch of salt. At this age, children should not yet be given salt, how much adults eat. And you can not salt at all. Then take the meat out of the soup and let it cool down a bit.

Rinse the broccoli and place in the boiling water in which the meat was cooked. Boil for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, cut the turkey into medium cubes. Put the chopped meat to the cooked broccoli. Puree the soup with a blender. Before serving, put a piece of butter on a plate.

Cream of pumpkin soup.

This is a vegetable soup, pumpkin and carrots will give a beautiful color and sweetness in addition.

Ingredients:

  • pumpkin - 200 gr.
  • potatoes - 2 pcs.
  • carrots - 1 pc.
  • onion - 1 pc.
  • milk - 100 ml

Peel the pumpkin from the peel and seeds, cut into cubes. Weight 200 gr. listed in pure form. Peel potatoes and onions and cut into small pieces so that they cook faster. Grate carrots on a coarse grater. Put all the vegetables in boiling water, lightly salt and cook for 30 minutes.

Puree the finished soup with an immersion blender directly in the pan. Add milk, bring to a boil and simmer for another 5 minutes over low heat. Vegetable cream soup is ready. When serving, you can sprinkle it with sesame seeds or flaxseeds for more usefulness.

Soup with lentils.

Lentils are a very useful product. If you want to give lentils a try for the first time, it's better not to boil the soup, but just boil it and give the child a few things. If there are no colic, swelling, etc., then you can cook soups.

Ingredients (for 3 servings):

  • carrots - 1.5 pcs.
  • onion - 0.5 pcs.
  • red or green lentils - 150 ml (by volume)
  • vegetable broth - 0.5 l
  • garlic - 0.5 cloves
  • celery - 2 stalks
  • rapeseed or olive oil - 1 tbsp.
  • tomato paste - 30 ml

Vegetable broth for soup can be cooked in advance, or you can immediately. Take any vegetables for the broth: onions, carrots, celery root. To cook the broth, vegetables are placed in cold water and boiled for about 40 minutes. Then these vegetables are thrown away, all the good remains in the broth.

Lentils should be soaked overnight.

In an empty heavy-bottomed pan, pour a tablespoon of vegetable oil, which can be heated and does not turn into a carcinogen. It can be refined olive oil or rapeseed. Put the onion and garlic cut into small cubes into the heated oil. Slightly fry these vegetables until transparent (not to yellow, let alone brown), you just need the onion to soften.

Cut carrots and celery stalks into small pieces. Add to softened onion. Also put the washed lentils in the pan. Stir and let warm for 1 minute.

Add tomato paste to the soup and pour over the broth. Let the soup come to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer for about 20 minutes until the lentils are tender. Puree the soup with an immersion blender. If the soup is too thick, thin it with water or broth.

Cauliflower soup.

This is a very simple white soup.

Ingredients:

  • cauliflower - 200 gr.
  • potatoes - 100 gr.
  • rice - 50 gr.
  • butter or sour cream - 1 tbsp.

Peel potatoes and cut into random pieces. Wash the cauliflower and separate into florets. Boil water, put potatoes and cabbage in it, cook until tender.

In parallel, in another pan, boil the rice until tender. It is better to soak the rice for at least 10 minutes beforehand so that excess starch comes out of it. Put the finished rice to the boiled vegetables and make a puree soup with a blender. Add sour cream or butter to the finished soup, stir. When serving, you can sprinkle with finely chopped dill or any seeds.

Casseroles.

Cottage cheese casserole with banana.

For children who do not like to eat cottage cheese, mothers bake various casseroles, cheesecakes, puddings, so that the child receives useful substances. This is a very simple casserole recipe with just 3 ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • cottage cheese - 100 gr. (it is better to take a child without additives)
  • semolina - 2 tsp
  • banana - 1 pc. medium-sized

Pour the curd into a bowl and add semolina to it, mix until smooth. Leave for 10 minutes for the semolina to swell. Banana needs to be mashed. To do this, you can use any device that you can use at the moment: a blender, grater, chopper. Add the banana puree to the curd and mix well again.

Spread the resulting dough into silicone molds - they do not need to be lubricated with oil, and pastries come out easily. Cook such a casserole in a slow cooker in the "Steam" mode for 20 minutes. Or just steam in the dishes that are available. The finished casserole is sweet, soft, easy to digest, the child should like it.

If you have already introduced egg white into the diet, then you can add half an egg or one quail to the casserole. This will make the casserole a little thicker.

Pumpkin-carrot casserole.

This casserole is also steamed. You can do, as in the previous version, in a slow cooker. You can just in a water bath.

Ingredients:

  • pumpkin - 100 gr.
  • carrots - 100 gr.
  • egg - 1 pc.
  • milk - 50-70 gr.
  • semolina - 2 tbsp.

Grate pumpkin and carrots on a fine grater. Place the vegetables in a saucepan and pour over the milk. Put on the stove, bring to a boil. Simmer over low heat, stirring, until the milk is absorbed. Remove the vegetables from the heat and let them cool.

Drive the egg into the cooled mass and pour semolina. Mix all the dough so that there are no lumps.

Pour the mixture into a deep small bowl or broth bowl and place it in a saucepan. Pour in about 2 cm of water. There should be enough water so that when it boils, it does not fall into the casserole. Bring water to a boil and reduce heat.

Cover the pot and steam the casserole for about 20-25 minutes. That's all, you can treat your child with a ready-made casserole.

Steamed fish casserole.

In addition to the traditional cottage cheese casserole, you can make fish and meat casseroles. I suggest cooking a delicious fish casserole.

Ingredients:

  • fillet of white sea fish - 100 gr.
  • green peas (can be frozen) - 2 tbsp.
  • milk - 30 ml
  • carrots - 1/2 pc. middle
  • chicken egg - 1 pc. (or 2 pieces of quail)
  • onion - 1/4 pc.

If your fish is not in the form of a fillet, then you need to remove the skin from it and carefully remove all the bones. Then turn the fish together with onions in a blender or meat grinder into minced meat. Grind green peas too and mix with minced fish.

Grate carrots on a fine grater. In a separate bowl, beat the milk and egg with a mixer until a thick foam forms. Beating is enough for 3 minutes.

It is convenient to cook the casserole in a small silicone mold. Put the fish mixture with peas on the bottom of the mold and tamp a little with a fork. The next layer is carrot. Do not put a lot of carrots, a thin layer is enough. Press the carrots a little with a fork as well.

Fill the fish casserole with the milk-egg mixture. Place the mold in the steamer. Pour half a liter of water into the slow cooker and cook in the "Steam" mode for 35 minutes. Together with the form in which the casserole will be prepared, you can put vegetables in a double boiler, which will be a great side dish. Cook vegetables for 25 minutes, then take them out.

That's all. There are not many actions on your part, but the child is fed and satisfied.

Rice pear casserole.

This casserole is a great option for an afternoon snack.

Ingredients:

  • pear - 1 pc. average
  • rice flakes - 2 tbsp without a slide (can be replaced with oatmeal)
  • children's cottage cheese - 100 gr.
  • sour cream - 1 tsp
  • quail egg - 1 pc. (or half chicken)

Mix sour cream, cottage cheese and egg in a bowl. To easily separate half of a chicken egg, beat it into a separate bowl and shake with a fork. Then pour half into the curd. Stir until smooth.

Pour rice flakes into the curd (if there are none, grind the rice groats in a blender). Grate the pear on a coarse grater and add to the general mixture, stir. Lubricate the silicone mold with butter and pour the dough into it. Next, it is steamed, as in previous recipes. You need to put the casserole in a double boiler, then in a slow cooker and steam for 35 minutes. Alternatively, bake in the oven until done.

If baking in the oven, cover the pan with foil to prevent a crust from forming.

You can serve such a casserole with fresh berries or fruits, or you can pour over fruit puree.

Second courses.

Steam cutlets with zucchini.

From meat, you can make cutlets for a child. Moreover, you can add any vegetables to cutlets, you get a balanced product. Take the number of ingredients at your discretion. Depending on what ratio of meat to vegetables you want to get.

Ingredients:

  • minced meat (beef, veal)
  • vegetable marrow
  • carrot
  • egg (or one yolk)

Scroll the meat through a meat grinder or make minced meat in a grinder. Grate vegetables or chop together with minced meat. Combine all the products, add an egg or one yolk, lightly salt and mix until smooth.

Shape into patties and steam for 30 minutes. This can be done in a multicooker. If there is no multicooker, then you can put the cutlets on a sieve and put them on a pot of water. Cover the sieve with a lid.

Omelet for a couple.

When the child already begins to eat egg white, after a year, you can make steamed omelettes. They are soft and the kids love them.

Ingredients:

  • egg - 1 pc.
  • milk - 3 tablespoons
  • butter - 5-7 gr.
  • greens - optional

Crack the egg into a small bowl, but separate some of the white. At this age, it will be too much for a child to eat a whole protein, separate half. Pour milk into the egg and beat with a fork. Put a piece of butter in a small heat-resistant form and fill it with a beaten egg. Finely chopped dill can be added if desired. Place on the steamer rack and steam in the slow cooker for 10 minutes (do not forget to preheat the steam water in the slow cooker).

Serve such a steam omelette well with steamed vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots).

Fish casserole with pasta.

If you want to diversify your baby's menu, make him a fish casserole. It turns out quite lush due to beaten eggs. All ingredients used should be familiar to the child.

Ingredients:

  • cod fillet - 300 gr.
  • whole grain pasta - 100 ml (measurement by volume)
  • green onion - 1 feather
  • butter - 30 gr.
  • flour - 2.5 tbsp.
  • milk - 250 ml
  • eggs - 2 pcs.
  • ground nutmeg - 1/3 tsp
  • breadcrumbs - 2-3 tbsp.
  • carrots - 300 gr.
  • pepper - to taste

Immediately turn on the oven to heat up to 160 degrees. Cook pasta (if you can't find whole grains, then take from durum wheat). Pasta is placed in boiling water and boiled for several minutes, see the instructions on the package. In this case, it is better not to cook the pasta a little, so they will still be baked.

Fish fillet (thaw it in advance and rinse) cut into 2 cm pieces. Finely chop the green onion. Now you need to make the bechamel sauce. To do this, melt the butter in a saucepan, add flour to it and stir. Now pour the milk in a thin stream and stir so that there are no lumps. Simmer the sauce for a few minutes until it thickens. Add the nutmeg and black pepper to the sauce. Cool down the sauce.

If you are in a hurry, then just beat the eggs with a whisk or even a fork. If you have time, separate the whites from the yolks. Beat the whites with a mixer into a strong foam. When turning the bowl, the proteins should not fall out. Whipped proteins will make the finished casserole more porous and airy.

Cut the fish, cook the sauce, beat the eggs.

Stir in the yolks to the proteins, this can be done with the same mixer.

Add the beaten eggs to the cooled sauce and stir. In the same mixture, put chopped fish, boiled pasta and green onions. Stir gently with a spoon. Lubricate the baking dish with butter, put the whole mass into it, level it. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Bake in preheated oven for about 40 minutes.

Grate the carrots and put in a deep plate. Put a portioned piece of casserole on the carrot. This is such a tasty dish for a child. As you can see, there is no salt in the recipe. The dish can be completely saltless, or you can add quite a bit of salt to the sauce.

Steamed meat soufflé.

A very tasty meat recipe for children. Easy to prepare.

Ingredients:

  • minced meat - 50 gr.
  • egg - 1 pc.
  • white bread - 10 gr.
  • milk - 3 tablespoons

In a small bowl, cover the bread with milk and leave to swell for 10 minutes. Now you need to combine minced meat, egg and soaked bread together. Use a blender to turn this mixture into a homogeneous mass.

Pour the resulting mixture into silicone molds. Put the molds on the steamer. In the same steamer, immediately put the vegetables that you serve with meat: zucchini, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans, carrots, etc.

Pour water into the slow cooker, put the steamer on, close the lid and cook in the "Steam" mode for 40 minutes. Mash vegetables and soufflé with a fork before serving, you can sprinkle with fresh herbs.

Kashi.

Oatmeal with nuts and flax seeds.

If you decide to switch from boxed instant cereals to regular ones, then this is the time to do it in a year. Porridge for a child can be boiled both in milk and in water. If you have not yet given regular cow's milk, then for the first time, as with any new product, you should give very little to see the reaction. If you are afraid to give ordinary boiled homemade milk, buy special baby milk, it must pass quality control.

If the child tolerates the introduction of milk well, his digestion does not deteriorate and there is no rash, then the amount can be gradually increased.

Ingredients:

  • milk or water - 200 gr.
  • oatmeal - 100 gr.
  • banana - 1 pc.
  • walnuts - 1 tsp
  • flaxseeds - 1 tsp

Boil milk or water. Add cereal and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cooking time will depend on the cereal you choose. By the way, it can be not just oatmeal, but 5-7 cereals. Read on the package for how long to cook them. It is better not to take instant cereals, they are highly refined, they have few useful substances.

Add banana slices to the finished porridge and chop a little with a blender. Grind walnuts and flaxseeds in a blender or coffee grinder. Add to porridge.

Put nuts in the event that your child is already familiar with this product.

Salads.

Salad with avocado and banana.

If children do not eat vegetables well, it always upsets parents. They need to get vitamins from somewhere. Avocado is a very healthy fruit, it is not sweet, fatty (it has a lot of omega-9 fats, like in olives). And avocados are just a storehouse of vitamins and minerals. To make the salad tastier, add a banana to the avocado, children mostly love bananas for their softness and sweetness.

Ingredients:

  • avocado - 1/2 pc.
  • banana - 1 pc.
  • carrots - 1 pc. small
  • apple - optional

Grate half an avocado and carrots on a fine grater. A banana can be simply crushed with a fork or cut into small cubes to teach a child to chew. If a child is puréed for a long time, then, having matured, he will not be very willing to eat solid food. In the year already give the child food with pieces.

Mix all prepared foods. As you know, carrots contain a lot of beta-carotene, which is absorbed only in combination with fats. Just avocado will be a fatty conductor of vitamin A to the cells of the body. No additional oil needs to be added.

Serve this salad with cottage cheese or yogurt.
