The very first big holiday after the New Year is Valentine's Day. Very soon, lovers will begin to intensively prepare for this day: come up with romantic gifts for each other, plan how best to spend this day and, of course, do things first.

It has already become a tradition for Krestik to help you find ideas and inspiration for any reason, so we will start preparing in advance for February 14th!
Let's see how you can make paper valentines with your own hands, so as not to waste too much time, and as a result, get beautiful and original gifts for your loved ones.

To start making a valentine with your own hands, especially if you are planning to make it out of paper and in the shape of a heart, you should prepare a template. If you can easily draw a beautiful heart by hand, then go ahead and get some thick paper and a pencil! If you are not sure that you can do it yourself, then download the heart templates we have selected, print them on a printer and carefully cut out the heart along the outline.

First make a slit with a utility knife, then use small scissors, such as nail scissors.

As a result, you should get something like this, tracing it along the contour on a beautiful sheet of paper and then cutting it out, you will get a neat heart.

So, we figured out how to cut an even and cute heart from colored paper. It's time to choose an idea for decorating your Valentine's card.

Super simple valentines

Let's first look at the simplest methods. A huge Valentine heart can be made from small hearts, each of which is glued to a cardboard base.

Small heart blanks themselves can become full-fledged valentines if you cut them out of beautiful paper and decorate them with buttons.

The valentine card has a special space for the recipient's name or a romantic message.

A full-fledged picture of paper hearts is the height of simplicity and genius!

After watching the video master class, you will learn how to make a heart box with your own hands:

Valentine card with a drawing

The beauty of this method of creating a paper heart with your own hands is that you don’t have to be a talented artist; even a child can make such a valentine.

On a white heart or any other, but preferably a light color, use a regular ballpoint pen to draw simple curls, hearts, flowers and other delights.

Then, using regular watercolors, paint only some fragments:

As a result, you will receive a one-of-a-kind Valentine card!

Such valentines can be given not only to a loved one, but also to friends (after all, we love them too))

By the way, do you know why foreigners write the letters XO on their Valentine cards?
In fact, everything is very simple: X conventionally means “kisses”, and O - “hugs”)

Valentine card using a stamp

The method using a heart-shaped stamp is also quite simple and popular when making paper valentines. To do this, you just need to buy one or more stamps. They come in different prints and different sizes:

If you can’t buy it, don’t despair - make it yourself from an ordinary wine cork. Draw a heart and carefully cut it out with a utility knife.

Then apply gouache to the sponge and try to make an impression on a sheet of paper.

Now let's see how to make a Valentine's card with your own hands using a stamp.

Using a small piece of masking tape, carefully attach the blank with a heart inside to a blank for a postcard (you can use a ready-made one, you can fold a sheet of cardboard in half). Then, using a stamp, we fill the entire surface inside the workpiece with hearts, and the color of the hearts can be different shades of red.

After the paint has dried, remove the paper blank and the valentine is ready!

Another idea for making a heart stamp is to shape a cardboard toilet paper cylinder into the shape of a heart, wrapping it with tape to secure it.

With this stamp you can decorate a large sheet of whatman paper on which to write declarations of love!

Valentine's card with hearts

Fans of beautiful scrapbooking paper will definitely love the idea of creating a romantic three-dimensional card with hearts.

The technique for creating a Valentine card is very simple. Using a shaped hole punch, you need to cut out hearts from paper.

The number of hearts should be 2 times greater than what we see on the postcard, because each heart will be double-layered.

In this version of the valentine, all the lower hearts are made of the same type of paper, and the upper ones are made of different ones.

Take a ready-made card base or make one yourself, and then mark the location of the bottom layer of hearts and glue them on thin double-sided tape. Simply sew the upper hearts to the lower ones using a sewing machine - it’s not difficult, the main thing is to be careful.

Original master class

Using the same principle, you can make small Valentine cards:

And voluminous heart-shaped valentines:

If you don't have a sewing machine, sew on the hearts by hand. To do this, first place the paper on a soft surface, such as a towel or ironing board, and then pierce it with a needle, using a thimble to push the needle (watch your fingers!)

And finally, get inspired with ideas for decorating your home for Valentine's Day. They also won’t take up much of your time, but will definitely create a romantic atmosphere!

Romantic wreaths

The basis of a wreath of paper hearts is a circle made of thick cardboard or a piece of plywood. You can glue the exact same circle of decorative paper on top, and then just stick a large number of hearts on it!

It's even easier to make a wreath from strips of double-sided scrapbooking paper. First bend them in half, and then glue them on top, giving them a heart shape. By gluing such blanks to each other, you will assemble them into an original wreath.

The more hearts, the larger the circumference of the wreath.

Garland of hearts

In addition to the wreath, you can also make garlands with hearts. A shaped hole punch with a heart and a regular hole punch for piercing round holes will come to the rescue.

The garland can also be made from hearts folded from strips of paper (it is based on the “heart” element, borrowed from quilling)

Of course, we will definitely show you more complex and interesting options for creating valentines with your own hands, but if for some reason you need to make a valentine very quickly, you can always use one of the ideas listed here!

A loved one does not need a lot of time and money.

Origami paper heart

PLUFFY INFLATABLE.

Here in the photo below we see a beautiful paper heart made of paper, which is filled with air and due to this it turns out to be plump like a crumpet bun.

The basis for this origami heart is a regular square of paper - red on both sides. Office crane paper is suitable. We fold the square in half twice - vertically and horizontally. We get a strip (a square folded in half) in which the line of the previous fold is visible in the middle. Now we raise the corners of this strip - not reaching half a centimeter to the center line (fold).

We turn the craft over so that it lies with the top of the triangle facing up. And now we raise the edges of the lowered flaps up - flush with the sides of the triangle.

Now lower the edges of the flaps that we just raised again. We raised them only to get fold lines. And now we bend both corners of the triangle (left and right) with a sharp edge to the beginning of this fold line (which we just received). We get the upper triangular ears.

Now you need to raise the corners – those sticking out below the ears. Bend these corners up. And then hide it under the upper ears.

Just the finishing touches to this simple origami paper heart craft. We see that the craft resembles a pentagon with sharp corners on the sides. We need to smooth out these sharp corners and therefore we knead them slightly with our fingers (as shown in the photo of the paper heart).

Now we turn our heart craft over so the front side is up. And we notice that at the bottom, at the sharp tip of the heart, we have a hole. We need to blow into it so that our heart straightens, fills with air and becomes fluffy like an airy soufflé.

ORIGAMI HEART

WITH WINGS

Made from red and white paper.

For this craft we will need paper that is colored red on only one side.

Here is an easy way to make an origami heart from paper painted red on one side.

We take an even square of paper as a basis. Bend the square in half - 2 times, vertically and horizontally. Then we straighten the square again with the white side up - we get 2 fold lines on it - cross to cross.

Raise the bottom edge of the square to the horizontal fold line in the middle. And immediately turn the craft over with the colored side up - so that the fold line of our edge is at the top. And now we bend 2 corners down to the middle vertical line - the right corner and the left corner at the bottom - it turns out like in photo 2.

We turn the craft over with the white side up - we get the position as in photo 3. And then something begins that I could not decipher. No matter how I twisted the module, I couldn’t figure out what to do with it to get picture 4 from picture 3. Maybe I’m stupid, but you have a clear head and you can understand how to make such an origami heart. I am publishing this step-by-step puzzle for those who like to stretch their brains.

I have another way out of this puzzle... Below we see a heart that can be made with wings. If we go through this master class, we get exactly the stage of a heart with a piece of white paper behind. This white part can be folded like an accordion into a fan and shaped like wings.

An excellent present for the eighth of March, Valentine's Day.

Inspiration and love to you.

Olga Klishevskaya, especially for the site

At the beginning of February, people all over the world begin to prepare for the most romantic holiday of the year -. It is celebrated on February 14, Valentine's Day, which is considered the patron saint of lovers and loved ones. The symbol of this date is a heart. It is given to each other and such gifts are called Valentines.

You can buy an attribute of love in a store. But this will mean that thousands more young men and women will receive exactly the same gift. Most people think about how to make a heart with their own hands. Then you can be sure that only one person in the world will have this gift - your loved one.

Holiday symbols are made from different materials. They prepare salads and bake heart-shaped cakes. The presentation and decoration of the holiday depends on desires and possibilities.

From paper

This is the most affordable material for making crafts. How to make a heart out of paper? For this, besides desire, you will need very little:

  • paper,
  • scissors,
  • glue.

When designing paper products, a huge number of its types are used:

  • white,
  • colored,
  • cardboard,
  • newspapers,
  • magazines,
  • corrugated,
  • velvet.

There are many options for paper valentines. To prepare them you can use the following techniques:

  • quilling,
  • origami,
  • applique,
  • cutting out,
  • papier mache,
  • weaving.

Before you start creating, you should decide what technique you want to use.

Quilling

Quilling is curling paper. To do this, the sheet is cut into narrow strips, which are wound onto a core object: a pencil, a toothpick, a knitting needle, a thick needle. The resulting spirals are glued to a base prepared in advance to form the intended figure. The thinner the object onto which the strips are wound, the more delicate the final work will be.

For a Valentine's card, cut out a large heart from cardboard. You must first draw it or use a template.

Cut strips of paper 1 cm wide and make spirals. Choose the color yourself, but do not forget that a loving heart glows with bright colors. The paper must be colored on both sides. To do this, you can use old glossy magazines.

Arrange the spirals on the cardboard blank as you wish. They can be located symmetrically on both halves or form an abstract pattern. Glue the swirls to the cardboard.

Application

To make a Valentine card using the appliqué technique, you need to cut out one large heart from thick paper or cardboard and many small ones from colored paper. Small blanks need to be pasted over a large one. If you use materials of different textures, the heart will turn out more original. It can be covered on both sides with clippings from newspaper and magazine pages, flowers, photographs.

Small hearts can be folded in half and only glued on one side. Then under the other half there will be room for wishes and warm words.

Origami

Origami is the process of folding paper in certain ways to form a desired shape.

In order to make a Valentine card using this technique, you need a square sheet of paper. Having conjured a leaf, giving it the desired shape, you yourself will understand how to make an origami heart. There are a lot of options. The result will be original, your own origami.

Decorate the resulting figurine in any way. For example, glue a bow from a satin ribbon or paint it with gouache.

Volumetric heart

A voluminous heart looks especially impressive, and many try to make just such a thing for a special day. If the question arises of how to make a voluminous heart, you must first decide what exactly it will be. They are made from different materials:

  • paper,
  • fabrics,
  • thread

The simplest option: cut a heart out of paper, make a small cut in the upper part, fold the cut places, giving the shape volume, and glue it together. A more complex way is to use the modular origami technique.

The heart is sewn from fabric and filled with special materials:

  • cotton wool,
  • padding polyester,
  • holofiber,
  • foam rubber,
  • feather,

You can put aromatic herbs inside. Then she will become an “aroma-heart.”

Any fabric is suitable for sewing a love attribute. Small specimens work well from fleece or drape. For a large one, choose a bright, shiny satin or silk. Crafts made from chintz, linen, and calico are good. This fabric does not stretch and will be very convenient to work with.

In order to make a three-dimensional fabric symbol of love, you need to prepare a paper template. Using it, cut out two pieces of fabric and sew them together. When stitching, be sure to leave a small gap to fill the inside with filler. After filling the heart, carefully sew up the “pocket”.

Fabric whose edges do not fray can be sewn on the right side. This will give the product originality. The edges of very loose material must be processed very carefully.

Instead of fabric, you can use knitted fabric, or the present can be knitted or crocheted and also filled with soft material.

They decorate the room with fabric and knitted symbols for the holiday, and give them to each other. You can make whole “heart” ones:

  • beads,
  • earrings.

After the Valentine is ready, it must be decorated. Use for this:

  • beads;
  • beads;
  • silk, nylon, satin ribbons;
  • decorative cords;
  • different embroidery.

By dressing a gift with holiday accessories, you can be sure that the person for whom it is intended will like it.

From salt dough

Salt dough is an easily accessible and plastic material. You can make absolutely any figure out of it.

The dough is prepared as follows: a glass of flour and fine salt are mixed with a glass of water. First you need to dissolve the salt in the water and then add the flour. Knead the dough until it begins to stick to your hands and is soft and moldable. To ensure the strength of the finished products, sometimes a little PVA glue or wallpaper glue is added to this “plasticine”.

Roll out the dough with a rolling pin and make shapes into objects. You can shape them by hand. Finished products are dried naturally or in the oven. Then, having shown all your creativity, you need to color them. If you add gouache or food coloring directly to the dough, your creations will immediately become colorful.

Box

If the gift for Valentine's Day is not in the shape of a heart, then be sure to create the appropriate packaging for it - a box. First you need to think carefully about how to make a heart box: there are many options. Try making a paper one.

Thick paper is suitable for the box. Very thick cardboard will be inconvenient to bend and glue, but the packaging will be stronger. Choose the appropriate paper for your heart box.

The box will consist of two parts: the main part and the lid to it.

  1. First, cut out a heart from paper. This will be the bottom. The size must correspond to the size of the gift for which it is intended. When cutting out the bottom of the box, do not forget that you need to provide small pieces around the perimeter of the entire heart, to which the side part will subsequently be glued.
  2. For the “walls” you need to prepare a strip, the width of which will correspond to the height of the box. The length of the strip is equal to the length of the perimeter of the heart.
  3. The strip must be connected to the bottom of the box, gluing it to the parts cut out along with the heart.
  4. You can use tape or a stapler to glue the bottom and sides of the package together. Then you will have to decorate the adhesive tape and stapler clips.

The lid to the box is made in a similar way. Only the lid should be slightly larger than the box itself in order to easily close the package. Therefore, the top of the lid must be made several millimeters larger than the bottom. Accordingly, the strip for the sides will be slightly longer, but narrower.

Decorate the box in any way you like. You can cover all the parts with fabric or bright self-adhesive paper in advance.

Making a heart with your own hands is not at all difficult. You just need to show a little imagination and have a great desire to bring joy to your loved one. Even a lover, far from needlework and creativity, is able to make a Valentine card for a romantic holiday.

Sometimes you urgently need to decorate a written note with something. Schoolchildren know many ways to decorate cards using available materials. But adults who don’t really like hand-made things don’t always imagine how to quickly and beautifully transform, for example, a letter to a friend. It is this kind of elementary decor that will be discussed in this article. How to make a heart out of a paper clip without using other available materials? The answer to this question will be given below.

Step-by-step instruction

How to make a heart from an ordinary paper clip? It's simple: we need a nice wire product. It is better to use metal clips in a plastic shell for this purpose. They are bright and catchy, which means they will look impressive on white paper. It is advisable to choose a larger paper clip than a regular paper clip. But this is a matter of taste and possibility.

Let's get down to making it. Let's take a step-by-step look at how to make a heart out of a paper clip.

Take a paperclip and place it in front of you. The flat side should lie on the table, and the convex, multi-level edge should be upward. If the person making the heart is right-handed, it will be more convenient for the two edges to point to the right and the “head” of the paper clip to point to the left. Now you need to visually divide the edge that lies closer to the body in half. The next stage is to make a break from yourself in the middle. It is imperative to ensure that the upper level does not leak down. Otherwise, there is a chance that the paperclip will get twisted and the heart will not work. Well, the final touch remains. We bring the bend to the middle and slightly pull the upper part towards the ceiling. This is necessary to make the wire more flexible, and in the future there will be no problems with putting the heart on the paper.

How can you use wire decor?

From a bent heart-shaped paperclip you can make a bookmark, decorative elements for a postcard, make a curtain, or use it as a hanging decor.

How to make a bookmark from a heart paperclip? Everything is very simple: according to the diagram given in the first paragraph, you need to assemble a wire structure. At this stage, the primitive bookmark will already be ready, but if you want to get creative, then you shouldn’t hold back your imagination. On a paper clip in a plastic shell, sparkles, rhinestones, beads and even beads hold well. All this variety must be attached with glue or secured with a hot gun.

We have already figured out how to make a heart out of a paper clip, now we need to understand where it can be used. Wire structures look interesting when they hang on a string. In this way, you can assemble a whole curtain, or you can use it separately, for example, attach it to a balloon ribbon.

Making earrings

Such decoration will not be of the status of an adult lady, but a five-year-old girl will come in very handy. First you need to do all the preparatory work from the point on how to make a heart out of a paper clip. And then the creative process begins. If you don’t have any materials at hand other than office supplies, it doesn’t matter. We fasten a rubber band for money on one side of the heart, and without pulling too much, we wind it to the other side. After three such manipulations, the elastic band should run out. But this is a standardized parameter. Everything will depend on the size of the heart and the length of the elastic band. For a good result, you need to wrap two to three rubber bands on one heart. If you have a spool of thread at hand, you can use it. It will turn out especially beautiful if the mesh is shiny. The final stage is to put on the earrings. That's it, the earrings are ready.

Folding letters or patterns

You can use paper clips to make not only cute shapes, but also letters of the alphabet, numbers and punctuation marks. With the help of all this wire alphabet it is easy to construct a message. Having understood how to make a heart from a paper clip, it is easy to collect the necessary symbols by analogy.

This decoration will perfectly complement a postcard, box, or even a photo album. For design, you can use both colored paper clips and ordinary metal ones. To make the decorative inscription look more festive, you can paint it with a spray can, or you can add it with sparkles or beads. This is a good way to write initials or short messages. Long inscriptions will not look impressive, as it will create a busy effect.
