Easter egg made of multi-colored ribbons using the "Artichoke" technique. Materials and tools. Step-by-step master class on creating Easter decorative eggs with your own hands using decoupage method

A bright Orthodox holiday is approaching - Easter, one of the main symbols of which is the egg. It is customary to give eggs to each other all Easter week, and not only chicken eggs, but also souvenir ones, for example, made by hand.

I propose a simple option for making an Easter souvenir egg using the artichoke technique, such a gift looks elegant, original and warm in spring!

For work you will need:

- blank for creativity from foam in the form of an egg,
- rep ribbons with small polka dots in two colors,
- felt 1 mm thick,
- scissors, ruler, glue or glue gun.

How to make an Easter souvenir with your own hands:

1. For the base of the souvenir, use a special foam blank in the shape of an egg, which can be purchased at any craft store.
The sizes of these eggs can be different, it all depends on the size of the souvenir you want to make. Depending on the size of the base, select rep ribbons in small polka dots of two contrasting, but matching colors: in this example, an egg 5 cm high was used, the width of the ribbon for such a blank should be at least 2.5 cm.
The larger the size of the base, the wider the ribbons used to decorate it should be. In this case, rep ribbons can be replaced, for example, with satin ones.

2. Use a ruler to measure the width of the matched tapes.

3. Based on the data obtained, cut squares from each tape with the same sides - that is, the length of each segment should be equal to the width of the tape. The number of squares can still be arbitrary, they can always be cut.

4. For this example, pink and purple ribbons were selected, the main thing is to create contrast and alternate colors, and not only vertically, but also, for example, on the top of the egg.
Glue a pink square on the uppermost, sharpest point of the workpiece, fix it in the corners with quick-drying glue, it is very convenient to use a glue gun in such work.

5. For further work it is necessary to prepare modules of two types.
For the first module: fold a square of purple tape in half from corner to corner, then fold it again, connecting the corners in one line, secure with a thread or a drop of glue, you get a small triangle with a hole on the side.

6. For the second module: fold a square of pink ribbon in half from corner to corner, unfold, placing it with a fold away from you, bend the corners of the resulting triangle to the bottom point, while "tails" on top of each other, without overlapping. Secure the module by gluing or hemming the ends.

7. Now you can start the main work - decorating the egg. Start gluing it from the top of the head: fix the first module, from the purple tape, placing it on the already glued square, the main thing to remember is that the top of the egg should be slightly open.

8. After that, place another triangle opposite the first, their tops should be placed symmetrically to each other. Now it remains to add two more modules, gluing them in the same way - opposite each other. The first row is ready.

9. The second row will consist of modules of a different color and shape. Glue a blank of pink tape between the purple ones, placing it slightly below and covering the side corners of the triangles with it, while stretching the edges of the module to the sides to open its middle.

10. Similar to the first row, fix the four pink modules in the second. The main secret of decorating a beautiful egg using the artichoke technique is observing symmetry in the placement of the modules, their tops should be on the same line as much as possible, in each row only four modules are used.

11. The third row repeats the first, place the modules evenly, pressing them to the base.

12. Next, alternating between pink and purple rows, continue to paste over the egg.
Photo 18
13. The bottom of the base can be pasted over in the same way, or it can be made contrasting, like the top, in addition, the use of the simplest modules is possible: fold the upper corners of a piece of tape to the middle of the opposite side, you get a triangle with a strip in the middle. Make such a row of purple tape, it will repeat the first.

14. Use thin felt to gently close the bottom of the egg. In this case, after the purple color, pink should go, so we cut out a small square from the felt of the desired shade.

15. Glue the felt square to the bottom of the egg, securing the corners.

We offer you to make an unusual Easter egg from multi-colored ribbons with your own hands.

The ombre effect today can be seen not only on hair, nails and walls. Artificial eggs with a smooth color transition look no less attractive.

The technique in which this unusual decoration is made is called "Artichoke", since the object made of ribbons outwardly resembles a basket of an unopened artichoke flower.

To make a beautiful Easter egg with your own hands, you will need:

  • a styrofoam egg (preferably slightly larger than a standard chicken egg);
  • satin ribbons of four colors (in our case, these are 3 shades of green and white) 2-2.5 cm wide and about 150 cm long - each;
  • 1 pack of short tailor's pins;
  • scissors.

In addition, if desired, use narrow fabric ribbons, for which you can hang the egg from any interior item. And also multi-colored sequins that will make your decoration even more attractive.

DIY ribbon egg - step by step instructions

1. Cut the lightest tape (white) into several pieces 2-2.5 cm long.

2. Place one piece on the sharp end of the egg.

And secure the corners of the ribbon with tailor's pins.

Then insert one pin in the center.

3. Fold the next piece of tape in a triangle, bending the edges to the middle.

4. Attach the resulting corner to the egg with three pins along the base of the triangle. Do the same with three more corners, attaching them next to the previous one. So, the ribbons should be around the entire circumference of the egg.

5. Attach the next 4 corners in the same way, but just below the first row. In this case, the tops of the triangles should be between the corners of the first row.

6. Similarly, make a third row of triangles of the same color. You may need more corners to attach ribbons around the entire circumference, as this will make the egg slightly wider.

7. Now we will use a ribbon of a different color (light green). Divide the tape into similar sections, fold them into a triangle and attach to the egg in the same way.

You should have 2 or 3 rows with a light green ribbon.

8. In the same way, attach 2-3 rows of ribbons of two other colors (green and dark green).

9. There should be a lot of the strongest color, so keep attaching the dark green triangles until you have 1cm of free space.

The most important holiday in Christianity is Easter, or Bright Resurrection of Christ... The interpretation of this holiday is explained as: "Transition from death to life, from earth to heaven." Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday after the spring full moon. The church celebrates this holiday for 40 days. There are traditions, on the eve of this holiday, on Saturday, to bake cakes and paint eggs, preferably in red, which we symbolize as the color of the blood of Christ, who shed his blood and voluntarily gave himself to torment, in the name of the salvation of mankind, taking upon himself all his sins. People have long fallen in love with this bright holiday, on this day the bells of churches sound, people congratulate each other on the Resurrection of Christ, greeting the traditional: "Christ is Risen", to which the respondent certainly answers: "In truth he is Risen."
