Imagine, for a whole year I did not have publications about my favorite cushions! It doesn't sound like me at all. A lot of ideas have accumulated. Probably because I myself want to embody them, but my hands have not yet reached, so I have not written anything. Today I want to show you very beautiful crochet cushions, photos of which I saw on the Internet. Well, I really liked them and not only me, judging by the reviews in the groups.

Since there were no patterns for them initially, I decided to figure it out myself and make a small master class and a description of crocheting a pillow on a sofa. And later I added a diagram and a video.

Crochet cushions are so cozy, and the patterns and methods of knitting them are very diverse: from intricate openwork to simple knitted squares. The main success is always in the choice of color.

In the presented models, a pattern with popcorn elements is used. I already told you how to knit this in the description. But today I will show this technique again.

I knitted one motif from the remains of my medium yarn. Gone is a whole bunch (50 grams / 70 m). And the size of the motive turned out to be 20 x 20 cm.

So for a pillow measuring 40 x 40 cm, 400 grams of semi-woolen yarn will be required and 4 motifs will need to be knitted for one side.

To make another version of the pillow (of 9 motifs), you will have to take a thinner yarn. Accordingly, if the length of the thread in the skein is longer, then the yarn consumption will be less. I implemented this very idea much later than the release of this article. It took me a little more than 200 grams of acrylic + cotton yarn (100g / 330m) for a 45x45 pillow.

Master class on knitting a motive with a popcorn pattern

1. A chain of 6 VPs is closed in a ring.

4. In the third row we start knitting the "popcorn" pattern - the main pattern of the pillow with a crochet hook. To do this, we collect 3 VP, then we knit 3 С1Н under the air loop of the previous row.

We take out the hook from the last loop and insert it into the 3rd air loop, dialed at the beginning of the row, grab the last loop from the 3rd double crochet and knit them together, pulling them together.

We get a small lump, or in another way it is also called "popcorn".

For the first bump in the row, we first typed air loops to raise the row, all other bumps need to be knitted on 4 double crochets.

5. Before knitting the next such bump, I did an air loop. And in the next rows there are 2 air loops between them. You yourself already regulate how you will be better at it, so that the row is even, not tight.

6. We knit the fourth row in the same pattern "popcorn", introducing a hook under the air loops between the cones of the previous row.

And in this row, we are already beginning to form the corners of the future square motif of our crocheted crocheted sofa cushion. To do this, after every fourth bump, I knitted 9 air loops. (Adjust this amount for your knitting).

7. In the fifth row we tie the corners of the air loops with double crochets: 6 С1Н, 3 ВП, 6 С1Н.

Connection of motives

To connect the motifs, first it is better to iron their edges through a damp cloth or soak the motifs in warm water and spread them out on a towel, giving them an even shape.

We fold the motifs in pairs, facing inward and connect with half-columns (or connecting loops, as they are also called). With this method of joining, an even, inconspicuous seam will be obtained.

If you want to make a beautiful seam with a hem, as in the photo, connect the motifs on the front side with single crochets.

More experienced craftswomen can choose more complex patterns. Aran motifs look gorgeous on covers made of any smooth yarn. If the pillow is planned as a decorative one, the weaves can be additionally decorated with beads.

Cheerful case of squares

Having in stock many yarns of different shades, you can make a colorful cover. The number of squares will depend on the size of the pillow and the number in one row. For example, a 50 x 50 cm pillow. 9 squares 15 by 15 cm or 18 squares on both sides of the cover will go to one side.

For each of them, you can choose your own pattern or knit with a front satin stitch. Connect knitted motifs into a whole canvas with a needle or crochet. Mask the joints with a contrasting tape or lace.

What your pillow will look like after finishing work depends entirely on the flight of your imagination. A number of design elements were added to our pillow, which allowed us to get a pillowcase with variations on the "marine" themes at the exit.

So, to make such a pillowcase, we need the following materials:

Using the hook, you need to dial four air loops, closing them in a circle. At the second stage, we turn four air loops and columns with 1 crochet (in the amount of 3 pieces) into a round circle of air loops. A total of four such sets need to be made.

The connecting post is the closing element. After that, the process with knitting air loops and columns is repeated: this element must be entered into the first arch, and then everything is repeated in a circle. The third row is knitted in the same way as the first two, and then a new color must be introduced. What it should be: dark beige or turquoise - it's up to you, but the principle of knitting remains the same.

After two rows of turquoise threads, we introduce yarn of a new color - beige. Having knitted two rows, we again return to turquoise, and then to white threads. From the yarn we knit a chain of air loops, equal in length to the sum of the sides of the pillowcase, plus 5-7 cm - for the tie. Then we fold the two resulting halves inside out to each other, thread the previously made chain through the corner holes, after which

in a spiral, you need to thread a string around the perimeter of the pillow. The most convenient way to do this will be with the same hook. At the final stage of the "assembly" of the pillow, two ends of the rope remain:

The rest of the yarn and beads can be used to decorate the pillow, creating, for example, a "starfish". After the sprocket is tied, it must be attached to the pillow. Then, using the same technique, we connect a pretty seashell. And we also attach it to the pillow. Similarly, we create another decorative element - "jellyfish" and attach it to the pillowcase.
