Making the fairy wings. Fairy wings for fairies and elves

Fairies are light and airy fairy creatures, they can fulfill cherished desires. Girls of all ages love them very much. And each of them wants to be reincarnated as a fairy at the school New Year's carnival or kindergarten matinee. Every mother is capable of making her dream come true. To do this, you need to stock up on some materials for sewing and turn on your imagination.

Outfit options

There are many different fairies... Adults can hardly remember the names of the cartoon heroines of the Winx Club, but girls adore these fairies, because they have a good heart and they always oppose an evil character, and also have a sense of style.

Since there are six fairies in the Winx Club, and they change their outfits in almost every frame, parents can easily choose one of their favorite outfits: Stella, Muse, Bloom, Leila or Flora, and make it from scrap materials.

Fairy Winx

Modern cartoon fairies do not wear elaborate hairstyles and lush dresses, so a fairy costume can be made from the girl's everyday wardrobe... Attire elements can be:

  • bright T-shirt or top with rhinestones or other decor;
  • short shorts;
  • leggings in bright colors;
  • colored knee-highs or fishnet tights.

Things need to be decorated, correctly arrange in color and, if desired, complement the image with a fluffy tutu skirt. For the manufacture of which you will need:

  • two colors of tulle - ribbons 15 cm wide and 22.5 m long;
  • elastic for a belt;
  • centimeter;
  • scissors;
  • glitter hairspray:
  • glue gun;
  • rhinestones, beads, stones - for decoration.

A skirt made of ribbons of different lengths, which can be alternated - after one or two, will look original. The result is an asymmetrical bottom of the product.

The skirt can be sewn short as she will wear over leggings. Cut tulle ribbons into a short cloth: 25 * 2 + 4 = 54 cm, where 4 is the knot allowance.

The length of the elastic should be equal to the half-girth of the child's waist minus 4 cm. Sew the ends of the elastic and put it on the back of the chair.

Fold the ribbons in half, thread them with a loop under the elastic. Thread the ends of the tape into the loop and tighten it so that the elastic does not wrinkle.

When all the ribbons are sewn to the skirt, sprinkle them with sequined hairspray and decorate with rhinestones fixed with a glue gun.

For making fairy wings you can use a downloaded and printed template from the Internet or redrawn on whatman paper. If necessary, put on a wig with long hair and make up - with sparkles and bright lipstick.

Forest flower fairy

The forest fairy outfit can come in handy for the Autumn Festival and New Years. Such a suit can be completely different: floral, juicy shades of green or red - in summer; golden, yellow or orange - in the fall.

The simplest option for making a suit is - from T-shirt and felt... For him you will need:

Cut the T-shirt from bottom to chest line into thin stripes similar to fringes and tie them into knots at the bottom.

Cut out leaves of any shape and shade from felt... Using a marker on the leaves, draw the veins and decorate the bodice of the T-shirt and the fringe with leaves, using a glue gun.

In the end, choose leggings that match the color of the T-shirt and make an adornment for your head.

Optional accessories

In addition to the costume, for the image of a sorceress you need to make a headdress... Some decoration options:

  • cap;
  • hoop;
  • a hairpin decorated with flowers or leaves;
  • Crown.

You can make a chic crown from cardboard, decorated with shiny paints and flat stones, wire and beads, felt.

Fairy wing making

The easiest option is to draw wings on cardboard or print from a template. After that, paint by hand or decorate with glitter varnish.

For making creative wings made of wire, nylon or tulle for a sorceress, you must prepare:

Bend the wire, forming the contour of the wings using pliers. Connect the ends of the wire with tape. Leave small wire ends on each of the wings, with the help of which the wings will be connected to each other.

Put nylon tights on the frame. Tie the nylon in the junction area between the wings. Roll up the connection itself with tape. To create a perforated wing, burn holes in it with a match.

Decorate the wings: paint them with paint in a balloon, paint with acrylic paints, decorate with sparkles, glue rhinestones and stones.

You can fasten the fairy wings to the girl's back using elastic bands or satin ribbons.

Delicate translucent fairy wings can be made of wire and tulle. Necessary materials:

  • thin wire;
  • tulle;
  • pliers;
  • acrylic paints;
  • rhinestones, sequins, beads, sparkles - for decoration;
  • elastic band or ribbons;
  • glue gun.

You can draw a wing pattern yourself or download it on the Internet. Bend the wire frame in accordance with it. Paint the wire if necessary.

Cut two pieces of tulle for each wing and sew, so that there is no seam in the center.

Pull the tulle over the frame and sew in the middle. Attach elastic bands to the central part of the wings, with the help of which the wings will be put on the shoulders of the child - over the costume. Decorate the wings as you wish.

Magic wand

Magic wand i is an invariable fairy accessory. To make sticks from ribbons and decor you need:

A balloon stem is ideal for the base, as its surface is smooth and the easiest to decorate.

Paint the stick with gold or silver paint. Then wrap it with organza. Place the fabric on glue. Glue decorative elements to the stick.

To create a voluminous felt stick cut three stars or flowers of different sizes and glue them together. Glue the stick from the balloon with ribbons of different colors and make ponytails out of them.

Glue stars or flowers with ribbons on one edge of the stick. Sprinkle sparkles on the wand if desired.

Thus, there are many different options for making a fairy costume, depending on the theme of the holiday, you can choose a suitable image for your child and sew it yourself.

How to make Winx fairy wings with your own hands?

First option:

Second Option:

P.S: You can see the templates for the wings here, and how to make the wings here.

Winx fairies are very favorite characters of most girls. Everyone watches cartoons and is moved by how beautiful they are, what wonderful wings they have. I think every girl just wants to try on these wings. Any holiday is a great opportunity. Let's figure out how to make such wings at home.

Since the wings have two parts: an upper and a lower one, you need to overlap the ends of the wire of the required length by about 3-4 centimeters, wrapping it with tape well. After that, I will give the shape we need - gmm wire. At the junction, we fix the wings with the same tape.

How to make Winx fairy wings with your own hands? First Option: We take a wire (it will take a lot), look at the templates on the net and bend the wire in such a way that we get the fairy wings. Then you need

The fairy image is one of the most beloved among girls of any age. We will tell you how to make wonderful "fairy" wings. You will definitely need them if you want to dress up a little princess. A matinee in a kindergarten or school, a thematic photo session, a birthday - there are a lot of reasons to turn into your favorite heroine and "grow" wings. Or maybe you want to turn your daughter's favorite doll into a fairy?

Fairy wings can be absolutely any shape, you can also experiment with size. Consider the owner's height and outfit. Small wings of a dragonfly or a butterfly are suitable for a little girl. They should not be too heavy and should not interfere with "fay". For a festive occasion, make large wings with tinsel, sequins, and "for every day" you can sew small textile wings. Girls love to spin around in front of the mirror and do miracles so much! You can't have too many wings!

How to make wings for a fairy with your own hands

To make the wings yourself, draw a life-size silhouette of the future wings on paper.

Bend the wire according to the pattern and fix the ends with threads, adhesive tape, etc. The frame is ready! You can try on and think about the mount. When the workpiece is tailored for a specific housewife, you can start decorating.

The wings can be without wire. The template can be made of thick cardboard.

Surprisingly beautiful translucent wings will turn out if you cover the frame with nylon (tights), decorate with sequins, beads, sparkles.

Using batik paints and decorative outlines in tubes, you can paint any design on the fabric.

Tulle wings keep their shape well and complement a fluffy skirt made of the same material.

The wings can be attached with harnesses (like a backpack) on the back, held by elastic bands for the wrists or fastened to a dress.

Which mounting option to choose is up to you, it all depends on the size and weight of the finished wings, as well as on the model of the dress.

You can also do without a frame. The only thing is that in this case the wings will not stick out, a small dragonfly or butterfly will have to wave them “by hand”.

If your daughter needs wings for every day, here's a casual textile option.

Who said that wings should "grow" behind your back? Why not have them on the pedals?

Shoe fenders are best made of leather. You can paint the workpiece with acrylics.

Wings can also be part of a dress or skirt.

A ring on a finger or a bracelet on a hand will complement the "winged" look.

If the little fairy expresses a desire to "fake" the wings of her beloved doll, our tips will come in handy. Durable doll wings can be cut from a plastic bottle, then decorated with nail polish.

Dear Readers! If your little princess wants to become a fairy one day, be sure to help her "grow" wings. The most elegant and magical!

How to make Winx fairy wings with your own hands?

One of the simple and beautiful options for creating magic Winx wings is to take wire, wire cutters, electrical tape and nylon tights. Twist the desired shape and size of the wings from the wire, wrap with electrical tape

Then carefully pull the tights over the frame

Now you can start decorating the wings. For this, different beads, rhinestones, sequins, satin ribbons, decorative outlines, etc. are suitable.

If you take white nylon tights, then you can paint them with acrylic paints

Such wings are attached using satin ribbons, which are attached like the straps of a backpack

For any children's holiday (new year, birthday, matinee in the garden), such wings will be relevant and will complement the Winx Fairy costume.

You can take a thick wire and bend it according to a pre-made cardboard stencil. Then we cover the wire with nylon and decorate with sparkles, rhinestones, beads or sequins.

Or you can make the wings entirely from Whatman paper or thick cardboard. You can also decorate according to your own taste.

Here are some options for decorating your Winx fairy wings.

How to make wings with cellophane and wire base.

You need to draw a sketch of the wings:

On it, make a frame of future wings out of wire, twisting the descending branches together:

Whole wing frame:

It is better to wrap the joints with colored insulating tape or something else that will make the frame more uniform:

This process will take a long time.

Apply glue to the top piece and connect both sides:

Repeat the process if you want a richer tone:

To make fairy wings, we need four wire hangers (those that are free from dry cleaners work well). So:

  1. Let's straighten our hangers a little so that they become like wings in shape, bite off the hooks with pliers.
  2. We connect all 4 wings, it should look like this:

We will find old stockings or tights and pull on each one of the wings, carefully fix it, you can use knots.

Our wings are almost ready. Now the most crucial stage - you need to decorate them. It is recommended to do this with a balloon of pink paint. Sequins, beads, Christmas tree tinsel can be sewn onto the wings.

First option: We take a wire (a lot will be needed), look at the templates in the network and bend the wire in such a way that we get fairy wings. Then you just need to take a material - like fur - cut out the wings and connect them to the wire. All that remains is to attach a strong elastic band and fasten such wings on the girl's back. But such a decoration is quite heavy and will interfere with normal movement. Where did you see the slow fairy?

Second Option: We take Whatman paper, download the templates of the wings. We cut out the wings from whatman paper, connect them with elastic bands. The wings can be pre-painted, or they can be pasted with colored inserts. It remains only to attach such light wings to the girl's back. It will be much easier to move here, but you need to be careful in something else - such wings are actually disposable and can easily wrinkle or break. So you need to be careful.

    To create the wings, you will need wire, nylon tights, electrical tape, glue, glitters, acrylic paints, tapes.

    Winx Wings can be made from a wide variety of materials. For larger wings (girls' costumes), it's best to first make a wire frame to keep them in shape. Then cover these wings with wires either with nylon or any other thin fabric, for example, chiffon, crepe-chiffon. In the case of nylon, you don't have to fix it, but if you use a non-stretching fabric, you will have to use a needle and thread and sew the fabric to the frame. It is advisable to then starch the fabric. When the wings are ready, all that remains is to decorate with various sequins, lace, rhinestones, beads, sequins.

Making fairy wings yourself is a great way to save money on a festive costume or make a wonderful gift for your child. The simplest fairy wings can be made from cardboard, and for the more traditional ones, it is better to use hangers, hangers and stockings. If you want the wings to look as natural as possible, try making them out of heavy paper and wire and then wrap them in cellophane!

Steps

Wings from hangers and stockings

    Take four wire hangers and cut the hooks out of them using the wire scissors. When doing this, cut off the hooks near where they split, but do not hit the split section.

    • If the bottom of the hanger is wrapped in cardboard, cut it off with a utility knife.
    • If you don't have wire hangers, use a 2.5mm wire. Cut the wire and make four large loops from it. Each loop should be 5–7.5 centimeters long.
  1. Bend the hangers into an oval or circle. You will need 2 sets of similarly shaped hanger shapes, one for the top and one for the bottom of the wings. Don't try to give the hangers the perfect shape - you can tweak them later.

    Fold the two hangers in curled sections and tape them together. Take the first pair of hangers and lay them on a flat surface with the twisted pieces facing each other. Place the pieces together and tape them tightly. Do the same for the second pair of wings.

    • If you don't have tape, use insulating or floral tape instead.
  2. Tape the two pairs of wings together. Lay the wings on a flat surface so that they are parallel to each other. Connect the rewound places with tape and secure them with additional tape.

    • Don't worry if the wings overlap. You will fix this in the next step.
  3. Adjust the wings and shape them as needed. Bend the outer wings up and the pair of inner wings down so they don't touch each other. If you are satisfied with the shape of the wings, proceed to the next step. You can also reshape the wings to create more regular circles, ovals, or other shapes.

    Pull a knee-length stocking over each wing and secure with tape. Slip a stocking over each wing. Pull the stockings towards the center of the wings so that the fabric stretches properly. Twist the ends of the stockings and attach them to the wire with tape.

    • White stockings will look best; in addition, they are easier to paint in the desired color. You can also use stockings in a different color, such as black for an evil fairy costume.
    • If you don't have stockings on hand, use pantyhose instead. They should be cut beforehand.
  4. Cut off excess stockings and adjust the shape of the wings if necessary. Depending on how tight you pull the stockings, you may need to cut off the fabric protruding from the tape in the center of the wings. Take a sharp pair of scissors and cut the stockings as close to the tape as possible. If the wings are bent and their shape is disturbed, straighten them.

    Spray the wings with spray paint if desired. Step back or move to a well-ventilated area. Place the wings on the newspaper. Spray paint lightly on the wings and wait for it to dry. Then flip the wings over to the other side and paint that side if desired.

    • You can use standard spray paint or fabric paint.
    • You can paint the entire wings or just the top tips for a gradient effect.
  5. Decorate the wings with glitter and / or rhinestones. Draw a pattern on the wings with glue and sprinkle some glitter on it. Shake off excess glitter and wait for the glue to dry. For extra shine, stick some rhinestones on the wings. Use fabric glue or hot glue for this.

    Cover the tape in the center with felt. Cut a square from the felt with a side length of about 5 centimeters that would fit in the center of the wings. Make sure it is large enough to cover all the tape in the center. Lay it on top of the tape, tuck the edges under the wire, and glue it with fabric glue or hot glue.

    Tie two long ribbons around the center with duct tape. Cut off two long ribbons that match well in color and pattern to the wings. Fold the tape in half and pass it under the center of the tape so that the loop of the tape protrudes 2–3 centimeters from under the wings. Thread both free ends of the strap through the loop and pull on them to tighten the knot. Move the tape to the left wing.

    • Do the same for the second ribbon, but this time move it to the right wing.
  6. Tie the wings to your shoulders with ribbons. You can knot the top and bottom edges of the straps and wear the wings like a backpack. Alternatively, cross the ribbons across the chest in an “X” and tie the ends in a knot.

Cardboard and ribbon wings

    Sketch the wings on a large piece of paper. You are using it as a stencil, so you only need to draw one half of the wings, right or left. Take a large piece of paper - for example, you can use a Whatman paper or newsprint. You can also glue several standard sheets of paper together to make one large sheet.

    Cut out the stencil from the paper and trace around on the cardboard. Cut out a paper stencil along the lines, hold it against a piece of cardboard, and trace with a pen or pencil. Then unfold the wings to the other side and circle them again.

    • If you don't have cardboard, you can use heavyweight paper instead.
  1. Cut out the wings along the lines just drawn. The best way to do this is to use a utility or craft knife. If you are making wings out of thick paper, you can use scissors. At the same time, cut the cardboard or paper along the inner edge of the drawn lines so that they are not visible on the wings.

    Cut and fold the wings in the middle. Determine the center along which the wings should be bent. Use a DIY knife to lightly run along the center to make a shallow cut in the cardboard. Fold the wings in half along the notch, then unfold them.

    • If you are using heavyweight paper, simply fold the wings in half and then unfold them.
  2. Paint the wings if desired. You can use paper paints, spray paints, or even acrylic paints for this. Paint one side first and let it dry, then paint the other side.

    • If you are using thick paper, you can skip this step.
  3. If you want the wings to look more believable, paint some details on them. Take a look at the drawings of the butterfly wings and draw characteristic details on the cardboard wings with a pencil. Then take a paintbrush and acrylics or paper paints and paint on the wings.

    • You can paint on both sides of the wings, but let the paint dry on one side before painting on the other.
  4. If you'd like to add some extra touch to the wings, pattern them with glitter glue. Draw your drawing first with a pencil, then apply glitter glue to it. Both rainbow glue and other colors can be used. If you don't have glitter glue, apply regular paper glue to the pencil lines (squeeze it straight out of the bottle) and sprinkle some glitter on top.

    • Take a look at the various designs of fairy wings and dragonflies for new ideas.
    • You can decorate the wings on both sides, but wait for the glue to dry on one side before moving on to the other.
  5. Decorate the wings in other ways if desired. Unleash your imagination! You can use standard craft materials, such as glitter glue or paint, or more specialized materials, such as artificial flowers or rhinestones. Try the following:

    • Draw the pattern with paint. While the paint is still wet, sprinkle some glitter over it to give it a shinier look.
    • Glue rhinestones to the wings to further embellish them. Apply the pattern with glitter paint.
    • If you are making wings for a winter fairy, glue paper napkins to them.
    • Decorate the wings with fake flowers or leaves to look like a forest fairy.
  6. Wait for the wings to dry properly. The exact time depends on what exactly you used to decorate them. Typically, regular paint dries in an hour, but glitter paint can take a whole day. To speed up the process, you can hang your wings in the sun.

    Punch two holes on either side of the fold line. Use a hammer and nail to punch 2 holes on the left and 2 holes on the right side of the wings. The holes should be evenly spaced and form a square. Make them 5-7.5 centimeters from the center fold.

    Cut two strips of tape and thread them through the holes to form the belts. Pass the first tape through the top left and bottom left holes. Pass the second tape through the two holes on the right. The straps should be long enough for you to tie them around your shoulders.

    Tie the ribbons together to place the wings around your shoulders. Have someone press the wings against your back and tie the ends of the left ribbon around your left shoulder. Then tie the right ribbon around your right shoulder.

Line up the film and cut the wing out of it. Press down on the cellophane wrap with your palms so that it aligns with the wire and the inside of the wing. Smooth out any irregularities. After that, cut out the wing so that there is 2.5 centimeters of headroom around the edges.

Press down on the wing with books to dry, then make a second wing. Place the wing on a smooth surface and press down with heavy books and / or boxes. After that, start making the second of the same wing. During this time, the first wing will dry out.

  • When making the second wing, use the same pattern as you did for the first wing. The wings should be symmetrical.
  • Cover the wings with paper before ironing them with a low heat iron. Place some stationery on the wing and press down on it for a few seconds with a dry iron (no steam). Walk this way along the entire wing, then turn it over and flatten it on the other side. Under the influence of the iron, the cellophane will shrink, wrinkle and stretch around the wire. Never place the iron directly on the cellophane wrap and be sure to cover it with paper.

    If desired, secure the wings with a piece of U-shaped wire. Cut off some of the sturdy wire you used to make the wings and bend it into a narrow horseshoe, 2-3 fingers wide and slightly longer than your palm. Insert both rods that are located at the bottom of the wings into the resulting horseshoe, so that they are located along the inner edges of the letter “U”. Wrap the silver tape around the wire and attach the rods to it securely.

    • The tape should completely hide the wing shafts. Only the wings should protrude from the “U” -shaped wire.
  • Attach the wings to a corset or other tight-fitting garment. If you've made a horseshoe-shaped binding, wear a strapless dress or corset, and then thread the wing shafts under it. A form-fitting dress or corset will hold the wings against your back. If you have not fastened the wing rods with U-shaped wire, you will have to sew narrow pockets on the back of the fairy costume, into which you can insert the wing rods.

    • Use a pair of pliers to make it easier to hold and bend the wire more accurately.
    • Glue pieces of shiny, colored cellophane over the wings for a more colorful look.
    • For extra shine, place some glitter between the cellophane layers.
    • If you do not have a 2.5mm wire, you can use a 2mm or 1.5mm wire. However, even thinner wire will not support the weight of the wings.
    • Dye your stockings and let them dry before putting them on the wings. In this case, you do not have to use spray paint.
    • Acrylic or fabric paint can be applied with a sponge brush or sponge.
    • Look at the pictures of the wings of butterflies, dragonflies and fairytale fairies for new ideas.

    New Year's Eve is the time for magic and reincarnation. It's time to try on yourself and create a miracle! Girls and girls of all ages often choose a fairy costume. These kind, but mischievous creatures wield magic, live in secluded places and move in the air thanks to their wings. We will try to make this attribute of the fairy.

    Fairy wings made of cardboard

    Cardboard blank for fairy wings

    Paper wings for a baby can be made in half an hour. Prepare materials: a glue gun, a sheet of A3 design paper, an 8x6 cm piece of felt or felt fabric, a paper knife or hole punch, tulle, satin ribbons, an artificial flower for decoration or other decorations. Draw the wing size you want on plain paper. Fold a piece of cardboard in half, attach a template to it and trace along the contour.

    Making and decorating wings with your own hands

    Cut out the wings and join them together by attaching a piece of thick fabric in the middle. On each wing, make two slits at a distance equal to the width of the felt. Cut two pieces of tape long enough to wrap around the fairy's shoulder. For a small child, 60 cm is enough. Pull the ribbons through the slots so that the ends come out on the back of the wings. Tie the tulle into a bow and attach it to the felt insert. Decorate it with a flower or other decoration. The wings are ready!

    Fairy wings made of wire and nylon

    Winx nylon wings decorated with sequins and rhinestones

    A complicated option for experienced needlewomen. You will need cardboard, wire, scissors, white duct tape, silicone thread, pliers, colored tights. Instead of specially purchased wire, you can use unnecessary hangers, preferably with a rubber coating. Unscrew them and stretch them lengthwise with pliers. Smooth out the curvatures.

    Imagine what the wings will look like and draw their outline on the cardboard. Bend the wire so that it follows this outline. When working with hangers, you can simply shape them into an oval shape. Leave a gap between the upper and lower wings. Wrap it with white duct tape. Tie a few tiers of wrapping around the ends to avoid damaging the fabric.

    Secure the connection with a thread of the same shade as the nylon. At the tights, cut off the "legs", then - the sock. Secure it with a knot, get rid of excess fabric. Pull the stocking over the base of the wing, secure it with a knot again and cut off the excess. Repeat the same with the other part of the frame, only in a mirror image. Make sure that all the knots are on one side of the wings, which will be turned towards the back, so they will not spoil the look of the finished craft.

    Pulling the nylon blank onto the frame of the wings

    The second step is to decorate the fairy wings. To do this, you will need hot glue, paint in tubes, sequins, sequins, beads, satin ribbons of different widths, an elastic band, artificial flowers, a large sheet, a pencil and an eraser, a piece of felt or felt. The hardest part is creating a neat and symmetrical pattern. Mainly they depict smooth lines and curls, dots and circles. Find pictures of beautiful butterflies and dragonflies for inspiration.

    Pulling nylon and decorating finished wings

    First draw the wings and the ornament on a piece of paper, then lay the piece on top. Transfer the drawing to nylon using thick paint from a tube, which leaves a volumetric outline. While it's still dry, sprinkle glitter on the wings and shake to remove excess. Lines drawn by paint will flicker. Lay out a sequin pattern on a paper template and, if you like it, transfer it to nylon. To avoid glue stains, use a wooden toothpick and apply it pointwise.

    The last detail is the fender straps. Remember, they must match the product in color and style. Fold in half and sew a wide satin ribbon. Tighten the elastic inward, fix its end. From a piece of dense fabric (felt or felt), cut a rectangle 10 x 9 cm, bend it in half and sew fasteners to it from the back side. A piece of fabric will remain on the other side. Decorate it with flowers, sequins, ribbons.

    After making the wings, do not forget about other fairy accessories: a fluffy skirt, a magic wand, a flower wreath or a cap. The prize for the best suit is guaranteed to you!
