Previously, my nine-year-old daughter Vera had a lot of clothes that cluttered the closet. She did not wear half of the things: she quickly grew out of some dresses, she did not have a suitable top for two skirts. In general, the clothes are for children, but the problems are for adults.
Once I came across one of the programs about fashion, where they talked about the basic wardrobe for a child. It should include things that can be correctly combined with each other, changing the child's image every day.
After the transfer, I decided to create such a versatile wardrobe for Vera. In doing so, I was guided by three principles:
- so that there are no unnecessary things;
- so that wardrobe items are combined with each other;
- so that the child has enough clothing and everything.
Clothes for children - what should be in the closet?
The list of basic children's wardrobe should include the following things:
1. Socks, tights, underwear. It is enough to have about 5 pairs of tights, 7 pairs of socks and about 5 sets of underwear, which includes panties and a T-shirt. The latter must be sewn from natural materials so that the baby's skin can breathe. As for socks and tights, it is desirable that they also be made of cotton. However, keep in mind that they will fray and tear faster than synthetic ones.
2. Hats. It is optimal to have 2 hats for the off-season and 2 hats for the winter (plus a warm scarf and mittens) in your wardrobe. In summer, you can't go anywhere without a headdress - you can buy several panamas made of natural materials in light colors.
3. Pants, jeans, shorts... For the off-season period, the child should have 4 pairs of trousers:
- jeans;
- classic pants;
- stroks;
- sports trousers.
As for summer, three pairs (for boys) and one (for girls) are permissible. These can be light breeches, shorts and trousers.
4.Dresses, sundresses (for girls). Instead of a large number of trousers, the little princess's wardrobe should be filled with dresses and sundresses. For spring and summer, two warm options are enough, but for summer you can stock up on 4 dresses.
5. T-shirts. A boy's basic wardrobe should contain about 7 T-shirts made from natural fabrics.

7.Sweaters and jumpers. This garment is essential for the off-season (4 cotton jumpers) and winter (2 wool-blend sweaters).
8. Turtlenecks... The basic wardrobe should contain at least 2 turtlenecks, which can be combined with various things like skirts, jeans, sundresses.
Often, parents make typical mistakes regarding children's clothing: they buy an unthinkable amount of things, which then gather dust in the closet; purchase unnecessary things at sales; make spontaneous purchases that do not "fit" at all with any item from the children's wardrobe.

Why is a baby wardrobe so difficult? At least in my opinion ...
First, because our children are constantly growing! This means that when making a seasonal wardrobe for a child, you need to take into account many factors. The most difficult of them is to foresee which of the things will have to be replaced first, taking into account the growth, and what exactly to replace them with.
Secondly, children have much more wardrobe requirements than we do. Their occupations are much more varied than ours. And in any situation, kids want to feel comfortable - whether they climb a tree, paint a masterpiece on the wallpaper or play hide and seek.
So, our task is to form a beautiful and versatile child's wardrobe from the standpoint of rationality - so that everything is enough, that everything is combined, but that there is NOTHING EXTRA.
My son is a little over 2 years old. He grows, I grow with him. Of course, I mean experience and knowledge. So it came to clothes. I realized my mistakes, I am looking for ways to solve them.
So my main mistakes are:
1. I bought a lot of different things according to the principle “oh what beauty, oh how cute” or even better during the sales period “cool sooooo cheap thing, it will come in handy”. This issue became especially acute after my acquaintance with purchases on foreign sites. I think many will understand me ...
2. I guess badly with purchases in advance. Something is missing later, some things do not even have time to put on. Especially considering that the weather is sometimes very unpredictable.

Let's try to make a list of the necessary things. This will be a cheat sheet. So as not to buy too much, but also not to forget anything. I want to clarify right away that the list is indicative (we adjust for age, gender, climate, etc.).
Underwear + thermal underwear
Of course, underwear for children, especially for babies, must be of high quality. This also applies to the material from which children's clothes are sewn, and to the quality of tailoring. The size of the baby's underwear should be as comfortable as possible for the baby. Too narrow or tight items of clothing that impede free blood circulation in the baby are completely unacceptable. You should not buy underwear "for growth" either. Such spacious things sometimes rub the delicate baby skin and cause discomfort in babies. It is best to choose kits that are just in time for the child.
Tights and socks
Tights are an integral part of a child's wardrobe from the age of 3-6 months and up to 7 years for boys, and for girls - for the rest of their lives.
Therefore, when choosing tights, keep in mind: the more natural cotton they contain, the more pleasant they will be when worn and more useful for the baby, but the sooner they will lose their shape and color, tear or rub to holes. So be prepared for these losses in advance. However, a small percentage of chemical fiber in children's tights will greatly alleviate this problem. For the cold season, wool claws are also produced, but they should not be worn in a warm room or in summer, especially for boys.
