Instead of confetti, you can glue colored pieces of plasticine onto the Christmas tree. This part of the work of making a homemade New Year's card will be within the power of even a kid.

DIY Christmas cards. DIY Christmas card ideas

It is customary to give gifts for the New Year. Hand-made gifts have a special value - they give a holiday not only to the one who receives them, but also to the one who creates them. The easiest gift a child can give is a DIY New Year card.

1. DIY Christmas cards ("Herringbone")

The New Year tree is an indispensable attribute of the holiday. Therefore, postcards with her image will be especially appropriate. Moreover, such cards can be very simple to make.

The Christmas tree applique can be made from plain or multi-colored strips of paper. Making this New Year's craft with your own hands is within the power of even a small child.

A more complicated option is a New Year's card "Christmas tree" made of paper tubes.

It is very easy to make a Christmas tree applique using purchased stickers. Even a two-year-old can do this craft for the New Year with his own hands.

Simple and effective - homemade Christmas cards "Herringbone" from ordinary buttons.

You can also embroider the Christmas tree with threads. Only in this case, the New Year's card should be made of high-density paper or cardboard. Previously, the holes must be carefully made with an awl. For the simplest version of the Christmas tree, see the photo below.

Option 2.

A very beautiful New Year's craft with your own hands, accessible in complexity to a preschooler, is a voluminous New Year's card "Herringbone". The herringbone is made of rectangular strips of paper folded like an accordion.

Another voluminous New Year card. Again, this New Year's craft for children is attractive not only in appearance, but also in its ease of manufacture.

To make such a New Year's card with your own hands, print templates (template-1 and template-2) on two sheets of cardboard or thick paper and use the detailed instructions from the photos below. It is better if the sheets of cardboard are of different colors.

If you want to make such a New Year's card with your own hands, print the following template. Cut out all the mugs, and then use the following instructions for making Christmas balls. See link >>>> Only you don't need to glue the balloon down, instead stick it on the postcard.

New Year's paper crafts. New Year's cards made using the iris folding technique

Original New Year's cards using the iris folding technique are proposed to be made by the Country of Masters website. The name of this technique - iris folding - can be translated as "rainbow folding". The drawing is filled with thin paper strips, which, overlapping each other at a certain angle, create an interesting twisting spiral effect. For a detailed master class on making this New Year's paper craft, see the link >>>>. Make cuts on it along the lines. Where the tree trunk is, cut out the entire piece of paper. If you fold a sheet of paper in half before making the cuts, you can cut it out with scissors. In this case, even a preschooler will be able to make a postcard. If you want to do without a fold in the center of the postcard, then it is better to make cuts with a special paper cutter. Now you just have to bend the corners back and stick your blank onto the cardboard.

The "New Year's ball" card is made in the same way. The stencil for making this original New Year's card can be downloaded from the link >>>>

The same technique is used to make snowflakes from the "DIY Snowflakes" section. They can also decorate a postcard for the New Year.

And one more do-it-yourself New Year's card "Herringbone", made in this technique.

To make this postcard for the New Year, print out template on a white cardboard sheet. On the back, stick a thin sheet of green paper. Cut the corners with a paper cutting knife, bend them. Now cut and fold your New Year card in half. If you want to write New Year's greetings inside, then stick an additional sheet of green paper so that the letters do not shine through the holes. A photo. 40+ more DIY Christmas card ideas for inspiration

In stores today you can find New Year's cards for every taste. But I think that homemade is much warmer. After all, when we do a thing for someone with our own hands, we put our love into it.

Below we have collected ideas for beautiful, original and, most importantly, “quick” New Year's cards, for the creation of which no rare materials are required - beautiful paper, cardboard, and colorful ribbons and buttons lying around in the house.

Volumetric Christmas trees

Bulky Christmas trees made of white and colored paper are so simple to design that you can make them at the last moment.

Make 3D trees even faster. All you need is a ruler, sharp scissors and cardboard

Penguin

We liked this penguin very much, well thought out. You will need black and white cardboard (or white paper), an orange paper triangle and 2 miniature snowflakes that we can all cut out. Eyes are, of course, the highlight of the postcard, and for them you will have to look into a hobby store (or tear off an unnecessary children's toy, with the consent of the children, of course).

Gifts

This cute and simple postcard requires 2 sheets of cardboard, a ruler, scissors and glue. And also pieces of wrapping paper that you have left from gift wrapping, ribbons and ribbons.

Santa Claus

A friendly Santa Claus (or Santa Claus) can be made in just half an hour. The red hat and pink face are strips of paper pasted onto a card or gift bag. Fur hats and a beard are obtained like this: you need to take drawing paper and simply tear off the strips of the desired shape to get uneven edges. Stick on the card over the red and pink stripes. And then draw two squiggles - a mouth and a nose - and two dots - eyes.

Simple drawings

Irresistible in its elegance, the idea is to draw Christmas balls with patterns with a black gel pen. The main thing here is to draw the correct circles and mark the lines for the patterns. Everything else is easy - the stripes and squiggles that you draw when you are bored.

The same principle is behind the postcard with black and white balls. Simple silhouettes, painted with simple patterns, this time in color - it is best to do this with felt-tip pens. Warm and very cute.

Many, many different trees

For the first, you will need decorative tape or colored cardboard (with or without glitter - now you can easily buy these at a stationery store or in hobby stores). For the second one - fancy straws for drinks and good glue.

Here you will need paper or cardboard with a pattern left over from children's crafts, or wrapping paper for gifts. Christmas trees are sewn in the center - this is not at all necessary, you can glue them. But if you really want to, then you need to first make holes with a thick needle along the ruler, and then sew with thread in 2 rows - up and down so that there are no gaps. Draw the snow with white gouache.

A laconic and stylish idea - a grove of Christmas trees, one of which is glued to the foamed double-sided tape (and therefore rises above the rest) and is decorated with a star.

This card requires 4 or 3 layers of cardboard (you can do without red). As a color layer, you can use not cardboard, but paper. In the top, white, cut out a herringbone (a clerical knife will do well with this) and glue it on double-sided tape for volume.

A round dance of Christmas trees made of various remnants of cardboard, scrapbooking paper, wrapping paper is tied with a simple ribbon and decorated with a button. Try to play with colors and textures - here you can find an incredible number of options, using different colors of ribbons, paper and even fabric.

Wonderful watercolor so in the spirit of New Year and Christmas! A simple watercolor sketch is within the power of everyone, even those who last painted with paints during their school years. First you need to outline the patterns with a pencil, paint them, and when it dries up, gently wipe the pencil sketches and add the patterns with a felt-tip pen.

Winter landscape

For this postcard, it is better to use structured cardboard, or you can do with plain, smooth cardboard - it will still work out spectacularly. Cut out the snowy landscape and the moon with sharp scissors and paste onto a black or dark blue background.

Another, white and green, variant of the winter landscape, which will take a little more time. If you find velvety cardboard (remember, even at school, crafts were made from this), it will be great, if not, you can just paint the Christmas trees with a felt-tip pen. Snow - polystyrene disassembled into peas. You can also use a hole punch to make cardboard circles and glue them to the card.

Hugging snowman

The author of the blog My kid craft made this snowman together with the children. The snowman happily throws up his hands when the card is opened. You can write your wishes inside. It will be interesting for children to make an applique (and paint their hands and a hat),

More snowmen

Snowmen looking inquisitively at the starry sky will look more advantageous if they can find a bright ribbon for a scarf.

For the postcard on the leftyou need unpainted cardboard, white drawing paper and foam tape with which you glue the snowman. Drifts are made simply: you need to tear off the drawing paper so that you get a torn wavy edge. Paint it with a blue pencil and blend with anything, even with your finger or a piece of paper. Also tint the edges of the snowman for volume. For the second you will need buttons, a piece of fabric, eyes, glue and colored markers.

You will want to keep such a postcard for a long time. And all you need is cardboard circles, a nose and twigs of colored paper. All this must be collected using double-sided bulk tape. Paint the eyes and buttons with black paint, and snowball with white gouache or watercolor.

Balloons

Balls are one of the main symbols of the New Year and Christmas. These are made of velvety colored paper and ribbons. But balls are such a safe bet that you can afford to fantasize here: make balls out of patterned paper, wrapping paper, fabric, lace, cut out of a newspaper or glossy magazine. And you can just draw the strings.

Another option is to stick the paper with a pattern on the inside of the card, and cut out circles on the outside with a sharp clerical knife.

Volumetric balls

For each of these balls, you will need 3-4 identical circles of different colors. Fold each in half and glue the halves to each other, and the two outer halves to the paper. Another option is colored stars or Christmas trees.

Colorful balloons

Wonderful translucent balls are obtained using a regular pencil eraser. It is worth first sketching out the outline of the ball with a pencil. Then dip the eraser into the ink and leave your prints on the paper. Fun and beautiful.

Postcards with buttons

Bright buttons will add volume to postcards, as well as evoke subtle associations with childhood.

The main thing is to find buttons of interesting colors, but otherwise it's up to you to "hang" them on a Christmas tree, on a twig with cute owls or on newspaper clouds.

What could be simpler and cuter than a snowman made of buttons? The second card will take more effort, but the results will be worth it.

Unusually and in an original way, you can congratulate relatives, colleagues and friends on the upcoming New Year holiday not only with purchased, but also homemade gifts. For example, you can make your own Christmas cards using improvised materials and inexpensive sets of paper and decor. It is recommended to use ordinary cardboard as a base. But for decorating homemade postcards, laces, multi-colored paper, and even beads are perfect.

Having carefully studied our master classes, you will find many options for crafts and great ideas for creating bright and cool postcards. At the same time, most of the instructions are suitable for joint production of crafts with children and adolescents. Kindergarten and school students will certainly enjoy working on New Year's cards using all kinds of materials.

Benefits of making postcards with your own hands

Making New Year's cards does not take much time, while you can create a truly unusual and very stylish product that the gifted person will never find on store shelves. In addition to the uniqueness of such crafts, one can also highlight the possibility of joint work on original postcards with children and adolescents. Among the workshops listed below, it will not be difficult to find simple and interesting instructions that even kids will like. When making a New Year's card with your own hands, you can use a variety of materials, which eliminates the need for a separate purchase of any items to decorate the craft. A stylish and very beautiful postcard for the New Year can be made even from improvised and affordable natural materials.

Original card "snowflakes in a frame"

The master class on making a simple postcard discussed below is ideal for working together on crafts for parents and children. That is why we recommend using this instruction to create, together with preschoolers and schoolchildren, light and stylish New Year's crafts and gifts. The direct production of such a postcard is carried out as follows:

 1. A rectangle is cut out of blue or light blue cardboard (the base of the postcard). A rectangle of the same size is cut out of white cardboard.
 2. On the white rectangle, you need to make a small indentation inward on each side of 1-2 cm. The resulting small rectangle needs to be cut out. Thus, a kind of frame will be made.
 3. Cut out many snowflakes of different sizes from white paper. Glue these snowflakes onto blue / cyan cardboard. Glue the previously made frame on top of the snowflakes.

Layered postcards

The easiest way to make a layered card is to use a scrapbooking kit and double-sided tape. The work is carried out as follows:

 1. A small circle is cut out on the white cardboard. At the bottom, a golden or bronze stand is glued to it. This element will act as a snow globe.
 2. From colored cardboard and transparent strong film, circles are cut with a radius larger by 1 cm than a circle in white cardboard. The foil circle is glued from the back to the white cardboard.
 3. A decor from a set for scrapbooking, sequins is glued onto a circle made of colored cardboard.
 4. Pieces of double-sided tape are glued along the perimeter of the film circle.
 5. A circle with a decor is glued to the postcard on a previously prepared double-sided tape.

Another simple multi-layer postcard can be made according to the following master class:

 1. On three of the same size "pages" of the postcard, different motives are drawn on the theme of a snowy forest.
 2. "Extra" details are cut out of the prepared pages.
 3. The fourth page (of the same size) is painted with blue and blue paint, complemented by shiny sequins (stickers) in the form of stars.
 4. And two pieces of white paper are cut out with a width of 12 cm and a height equal to the height of the previously prepared pages.
 5. Every 1.5 cm, a vertical line is drawn on the prepared paper elements and a bend is made (back and forth, alternating). Thus, the accordion-sidewalls are made.
 6. The prepared central sheets of the postcard are glued between the accordions, creating the effect of multi-layered postcards.

Silhouette appliques

To create a beautiful silhouette postcard, it is recommended to use New Year's pins. Simply by printing such templates, you can easily make a blank of a large number of patterns to create a variety of crafts. But you can also make a silhouette New Year's card with your own hands and "from scratch":

 1. Draw on a white sheet of paper the outline of a New Year's character or object (Christmas tree toy, Santa Claus, bullfinch, snowman).
 2. Cut out the sketched silhouette and glue it onto a sheet of blue, blue, or gray cardboard. Supplement the picture with other elements (snowflakes, Christmas trees). They are cut in a similar pattern.
 3. If you wish, you can make such a postcard a thin white paper frame. This frame can be located either along the perimeter of a sheet (or half of a sheet) of cardboard, or placed directly around a silhouette picture.

Commemorative card from the child

It is both easy and simple to make a cool memorable postcard for the New Year with your child. Below we have reviewed simple master classes with drawing prints that will help you make very beautiful and funny crafts. We recommend using white cardboard as a base (whole sheet or folded in half).

 • "Penguin".

The central part of the child's leg is painted over with white paint, the outline is black. An imprint is made, the beak, eyes and fins of the penguin are drawn to it.

 • "Santa Claus".

The fingers (from the index to the little finger) and the tubercles under these fingers on the palm are painted with white paint. The thumb and part of the palm under the wrist are painted red. An imprint is made, complemented by a face, fur and a pom-pom on the hat.

 • "Herringbone".

The leg is painted with green paint, an imprint is made. When the paint dries, toys and decorations are added to the tree.

Stained glass card from finished sheets of lasagna

You can make a cool and original New Year's card not only from cardboard, paper and various decor, but also from food. For example, on sheets of lasagna, you can draw a very beautiful stained glass image with the children. For work, you will need the sheet itself, felt-tip pens, and a ruler. Crafts are made according to the following scheme:

 1. Themed images (tree, house, snowman, bullfinch, pig) are drawn on a sheet of lasagna with a black felt-tip pen.
 2. Chaotic lines are drawn under the ruler over the main drawing (like on stained glass). It is recommended not to make a large number of auxiliary lines so that the main drawing is clearly visible.
 3. Using colored markers with similar tones, the background is painted (for example, light yellow, orange, beige). The character himself is painted in the appropriate colors according to a similar scheme. For the pig, you can choose pink and red markers, for the Christmas tree - green, salad, emerald.
 4. It will take about 1 day for the markers to dry on a sheet of lasagna.

Postcard using colored stripes

Using the applique technique, you can make a very beautiful Christmas tree from multi-colored paper. For work, it is recommended to use 3-4 sheets of design paper (with patterns, dots) or 5-6 sheets of plain colored paper. For the manufacture of crafts, you will additionally need PVA glue, white cardboard. The work is carried out as follows:

 1. Strips with a thickness of 0.5-1.5 cm and a length of 10 to 1 cm are cut from colored paper (as the Christmas tree narrows).
 2. The longest strips are first glued onto a sheet of cardboard, gradually moving upward, you need to select strips with a shorter length. You can place them on top of each other, with a slight indent.
 3. You can complement the applique with a Christmas tree trunk cut from brown cardboard. In the upper part (as a top), you can glue a rhinestone, a half-bead, a button.

A stylish herringbone striped card can also be made from strips from colorful magazines, cuttings from musical scores, or foreign newspapers.

Snow-covered postcards using sequins

It will not be difficult for either a teenager or a child to make a snow card to be presented as a gift. But to work with glitter, you need to consider the need to use a transparent all-purpose glue with a thick texture. As a basis for crafts, you can use an old postcard or draw a thematic drawing. It is also recommended to use both silver and white glitter for work, as well as larger hexagonal sequins and shiny sequins in the form of snowflakes. The following master class will help you easily make an original craft from such materials:

 1. Apply glue around the perimeter of the postcard and sprinkle it with white, silver sparkles.
 2. In the lower part and the lower corners of the card, apply more glue (creating the effect of snow) and sprinkle with sparkles and shiny hexagons in the same way.
 3. Separately glue the star sequins from above, from below (next to the shiny frame).
 4. Let the glue dry for 1 day.

Volume postcards

Unusual volumetric cards are great for congratulating relatives and friends. Your child can present such a craft as a gift to his friend, class teacher or kindergarten teacher. There are many ways to create voluminous crafts. They can be made of cardboard and paper, cotton balls, pom-poms and other available materials and elements. At the same time, voluminous details can be located not only on the front of the postcard, but also be in the middle of the congratulatory "book". Therefore, before starting work, it is recommended to study all available options, their level of complexity and required materials. Some of the workshops listed below are suitable only for adults or adolescents, but most of them even kids can repeat with their parents.

Origami postcards

You can make a simple and original postcard for the New Year using the origami technique using our next master class. For work, we recommend using designer paper with New Year's patterns. The work itself is carried out in stages according to the following instructions:

 1. 3 squares are cut out of paper with side sizes of 10, 15 and 20 cm.
 2. The smallest square folds into a triangle one at a time and then along the second diagonal (the colored side remains visible).
 3. The unfolded triangle with visible folds turns one of the sides down. Between the upper and lower parts of the diagonals on the left, the paper is folded down. Similar work is done for the right side. The square returns to its original position (leveled).
 4. The square is folded in such a way that the folds of the diagonals protrude to the left and right, and the horizontal folds between them are "recessed". You will get an isosceles triangle.
 5. Grasping the right diagonal (one!), You need to turn it to the center line of an equilateral triangle and iron it. Repeat for the left diagonal.
 6. In a similar way, fold the remaining squares. Glue them to a sheet of cardboard, from smallest to largest, forming a herringbone and carefully inserting the lower modules into the upper ones.

You can decorate a New Year's card with any themed characters. To create an original craft with children, we recommend choosing Santa Claus. This character is loved by all kids. To make a postcard, you will need a sheet of cardboard, colored paper, cotton wool, PVA glue, scissors, and a pencil. The work is carried out as follows:

 1. Details are cut out of red, white, pink paper for gluing the applique (suit, face, shoes). The applique is glued to the cardboard.
 2. Balls are made of cotton wool for pasting "fluffy" elements: beards, fur on a hat and a suit.
 3. With the help of PVA glue, cotton balls are glued to the prepared base.

Additionally, you can glue not paper, but glue toy eyes. They will give the figurine more realism.

Volumetric Christmas trees

Making a cool postcard with a voluminous herringbone step by step is as easy as shelling pears. For work, you will need cardboard (2 sheets), a pencil, PVA glue, scissors, 2-3 types of green paper. It is easy and simple to make such a craft according to the following master class:

 1. Draw a symmetrical herringbone on one sheet of cardboard.
 2. Cut a Christmas tree out of cardboard and transfer it to green paper of different colors (use the blank as a stencil). It is advisable to make 4-5 of these trees.
 3. Cut paper trees. Fold each of them vertically in half (the colored part of the paper should be inside).
 4. Glue together the Christmas trees folded in half, alternating different types of paper. That is, glue half of one folded Christmas tree on the other and repeat the same work for the remaining blanks. As a result, only the halves of the side trees should remain free.
 5. After the blank has dried, glue the side halves of the Christmas trees with glue and glue the finished figurine to the postcard. Optionally, you can decorate it with rhinestones.

Volumetric figures

From ordinary paper, you can make not only voluminous Christmas trees, but also other themed New Year's figures. For example, using blue, yellow and black cardboard, white paper, you can make such a postcard with a voluminous snowman with your own hands:

 1. Cut a large circle out of white paper. Fold it 5-6 times.
 2. Cut the edges of the folded circle figuratively (by analogy with cutting out the curly edges for paper snowflakes). Expand the workpiece and iron the resulting accordion ribs well to form a beautiful volumetric circle.
 3. Glue the circle to the blue cardboard. Cut a small cylinder and eyes out of black cardboard, glue the snowman.
 4. From yellow cardboard, make a strip for a cylinder and a carrot-nose. Glue them to the figure.

By analogy with the master class on making volumetric Christmas trees, you can make volumetric balls:

 1. Cut 9 identical circles from multi-colored paper, fold each of them in half.
 2. Glue together the halves of the folded balls (make 3 separate balls from 9 blanks).
 3. After drying the volumetric blanks, glue them to the cardboard, make a congratulatory inscription on the card. Optionally, you can make not 3 identical, but three different balls or one large volumetric ball.

3D effect inside the postcard

Using colored thick and plain white paper, you can make a cool three-dimensional postcard for the New Year in no time. With the following simple workshops, you will learn how to collect such crafts with a Christmas tree and gifts.

 1. Mark the vertical center on a white sheet. From the back, you need to carefully draw it with scissors.
 2. With respect to the marked line on the front side of the sheet, draw a Christmas tree (or a stack of gifts) with the same left and right sides.
 3. Make cuts in the drawing along the prominent horizontal lines. For the Christmas tree, this will be the transition between the tiers (+ the bottom of the Christmas tree itself), for gifts - the lines between 1 and 2, 2 and 3 gifts (+ the bottom of the last gift).
 4. Bend the Christmas tree (gifts) towards you, along the vertical line previously marked with scissors. The sheet of paper itself will fold with a protruding pattern inward.
 5. Fold thick colored paper in half vertically.
 6. Glue white paper to colored paper, observing the coincidence of their central vertical lines. Thus, when opening the postcards, the Christmas tree or gifts protruding forward will unfold and become voluminous.

Felt postcards

An unusual and very "cozy" postcard in honor of the New Year's holiday can be made using felt. For work, it is recommended to purchase a rigid fabric with a thickness of about 2 mm. Felt parts should be glued to transparent universal glue (thick). Regular PVA will quickly be absorbed into the fabric and the details will simply not stick. You will also need a washable or disappearing fabric marker for the job. The work itself is carried out as follows:

 1. Draw the details of the house on felt of different colors: the roof, walls, door, window. Additionally, draw small drifts on white felt (they will be located to the left and right of the house).
 2. First, glue the walls to the cardboard base, then the roof and other elements of the figure.
 3. Glue snowdrifts on the left and right. Additionally, the felt applique can be decorated with small felt cuttings in the form of Christmas trees.

Curly postcards

Using ordinary cardboard and paper, you can easily and simply make cool curly postcards. For the manufacture of any type of crafts (in the form of a New Year's ball, Santa Claus or Santa, a snowman), you need to carry out the following preparation of the base (cardboard or thick paper):

 1. Fold the sheet in half.
 2. With a pencil, draw a half of the selected character or New Year's element. This must be done in such a way that the middle of the drawing is located exactly on the vertical fold.
 3. Cut cardboard or paper along the contour of the created pattern.
 4. Lay out the curly postcard and draw the "missing" half from the back of it.

To create another type of curly cards (not with halves, but with the front and front), you also need to fold the base in half, but place the fold on top. Draw the object, the character should be as close to the fold and cut out so that the front and back of the craft remain connected. Next, you need to draw the back of the postcard, and in the upper part of the front part, glue some decor that will partially cover the fold: a small cylinder for a snowman, a hat with a pompom for Santa Claus, a shiny “hat” for hanging on a Christmas tree for a Christmas ball.

Postcards using improvised means

Even from such simple and affordable materials as ribbons, lace and beads, you can make very beautiful and cool New Year's cards. To find the best idea, you can use the following hint:

 • lace: glue on a herringbone-shaped cardboard, sew a herringbone out of lace and then glue to a postcard, use to frame the perimeter of a postcard or create an openwork frame;
 • beads: glue on thick transparent glue in the form of a New Year's character or a thematic element;
 • ribbons: glue in the shape of a herringbone, use as "strings" to complement the balls shown on the card;
 • buttons: by analogy with beads, they can be used for pasting a contour image (Christmas tree, snowman, Christmas ball);
 • small bumps: they will be a beautiful addition to the postcard, they can be glued both in the central part of the craft and in one of the corners;
 • dried orange circles with zest: suitable for creating a frame or used as a decoration.

Making a postcard using the quilling technique

Working with quilling for making postcards requires perseverance and attention. That is why such material is suitable for schoolchildren. It will still be quite difficult for a child attending kindergarten to make many separate elements from quilling. For work, it is better to make the simplest shapes: swirling spiral circles and droplets. From circles you can easily and simply make figures of Santa Claus, Snow Maiden, Snowman, Original Christmas balls. The following figures are easily assembled from the elements of the droplets:

 • herringbone;
 • new Year's flowers;
 • christmas tree toys in the shape of cones;
 • ordinary bumps;
 • snowflakes;
 • christmas wreaths.

Also, from quilling strips, you can make contour frames or subtle patterns in a contour drawing. With their help, you can complement the silhouette of a Christmas tree or Christmas ball with very beautiful patterns.

Ideas for decorating postcards with paints and pencils

To quickly and easily make a children's postcard for a class teacher, teacher or grandparents, you can use the most affordable materials - pencils and paints. The simplest solution is to draw basic objects with your fingers. For example, you can make a cool snowman for white spots placed with your fingers under each other. To do this, you just need to finish drawing his face, buttons, pens. By this principle, you can draw funny elves, bullfinches, penguins, a Christmas tree. The main rule is to supplement the prints with an outline or other important elements. But with the help of ordinary pencils, using the following master class, you can also make stylish and unusual postcards:

 1. On a piece of paper, draw an outline of a New Year's character or a thematic element.
 2. Cut out the drawn picture.
 3. Attach the stencil remaining after cutting to a sheet of cardboard and paint over with a pencil of the appropriate color.
 4. Complement the picture with the missing details (for example, for Santa Claus's sleigh, you can draw stripes, for the Snow Maiden's face - hair and nose, mouth, eyes), using a black pencil or felt-tip pen.

Using thread for decoration

With the help of cardboard and multi-colored threads, you can make a stylish and interesting postcard for the New Year's holiday in literally 1 hour. True, such work is more suitable for adolescents and adults than for kids. The following short master classes will help you to make original crafts step by step:

 • "Embroidered herringbone".

A silhouette of a Christmas tree (the simplest) is drawn on cardboard. Holes are made around the perimeter. The herringbone is sewn with green threads. The finished postcard is glued to an additional sheet of cardboard (to hide the back of the embroidery).

 • "Volumetric Christmas tree made of threads."

A pyramid is cut out of cardboard. At the bottom, the edge of the green knitting thread is glued. The whole pyramid is wrapped with this thread (periodically, the thread is fixed with glue so that the figure does not unwind). The finished decor is decorated with rhinestones, glued to the greeting card.

 • "The fluffiest Christmas tree made of threads."

The green knitting threads are cut into small pieces. The outline of the Christmas tree is drawn on a sheet of cardboard. The entire space inside the contour is coated with glue. Immediately (until it dries), the scraps made are poured over the glue. For better fixation, they can be slightly pressed down.

Snowmen from the palm

No holiday is complete without greeting cards. The child needs to be taught to be creative from childhood. You can make this postcard with a child of any age, because in fact, the main task of your baby is a handprint. Let's get started.

 • colored cardboard,
 • paints,
 • colored paper and glue,
 • felt-tip pens.

A sheet of cardboard must be bent in half, this will be our future postcard. Since the paint spreads on the cardboard, take a sheet of colored paper and glue it onto the cardboard. On a sheet of colored paper, you need to put an imprint of a child's palm. To do this, we smear your child's hand with white gouache and put an imprint on the sheet.

To make the print even, you need to paint on the unpainted areas with a brush.

When the paint has dried, we draw a snowman from each finger.

The front side of the postcard is ready, now we will take care of the inside.

We draw snowflakes and a snowman with white paint, write a wish. That's all.

Postcard "Mitten"

One more work from Olga Kiseleva from Iskitim. This is a wonderful New Year card in the shape of a mitten.

“I live in a small Siberian town. I have been doing needlework since childhood. All the kids who go to kindergarten know how to make postcards. So, as I learned in kindergarten, I still make postcards with my own hands and give them to my family and friends.

I will tell you how to make a mitten postcard.

To make it we need:

 • pVA stationery glue;
 • glue moment crystal;
 • scissors;
 • white cardboard;
 • colored paper;
 • lace, ribbons, braid, lace;
 • beads, rhinestones, sequins or other decorations.

Draw a mitten on the back of colored paper. And we cut it out. Then we put this mitten on cardboard and outline it 3 mm wider on all sides, cut out the resulting figure.

Lay out lace and braid on the colored part of the mitten. When we have determined the place, then we glue them. Then we glue the colored part of the mitten to the cardboard part. Here, if you decide to make a loop, then you need to insert the ribbon between the parts of the mittens.

Congratulations can be written on the back of the mitten. Or you can print it on a printer and glue it.

We randomly glue sequins around the congratulations.

We decorate the front of the card with beads, half-beads, a felt snowflake, a pattern cut from white cardboard.
The mitten card is ready.
