But how much nicer it is to get a handmade postcard! After all, this is a sign that your loved one is very dear to you, that he spent his time and a piece of his soul in order to give you joy.

  • Envelope. We cut out a heart from thick paper, immediately write a confession on it. Then we turn the side and bottom parts, last of all the upper sharp part - we get an envelope. You can decorate it according to your own taste: with a flower, bead, rhinestone or tie a tag from a small heart.
  • Volumetric heart. Cut out two identical hearts from a beautiful thick cardboard. We glue a thin (5-10mm) strip to the side parts of one, then glue the second heart on top with a pre-written message.
  • Heart-box. According to a template that is easy to find on the Internet, we cut it out, fold it along the lines, if necessary, glue it with glue. We decorate to taste. Bows, rhinestones, a flower will look good.
  • Heart made of cardboard and threads. We cut out the heart from thick cardboard, then remove the inner part of it, leaving about 2 cm around the edges.Then we wrap the workpiece completely with woolen threads (preferably voluminous) of red or deep pink color. It turns out a very cute and original fluffy heart. We attach a confession leaflet to it on a thin cord, and you can hand over a valentine!
  • Heart made of volumetric roses.
    Cut out the heart from the cardboard, remove the inner part, leaving about 5 cm around the edges. Then we form a rosebud using the quilling technique from red double-sided paper. We glue the entire surface of the heart with such buds, the middle of the flower can be decorated with a bead. It turns out an incredibly beautiful heart that can be hung on a red satin ribbon.
  • Heart with carnations. We fold the thick red paper in half, but do not cut it through to the end, so that we get a closing postcard, on which the recognition will be inside. Cut out thin (8-10 mm) strips of pink paper, lay out an ornament from them in the middle, carefully glue it. From the same pink paper, using the quilling technique, we no longer form roses, but carnations, glue them along the edges. Very delicate and original postcard.
  • Heart applique. We take a beautiful neutral-colored scrapbooking paper, fold it in half. We write recognition inside. Then, on the top of the postcard, in the center, we glue a rectangle made of beautiful thick paper (orange or pink). We cut out a few flowers, a bird and a heart, and glue them on a colored base, placing them according to our own taste. Such a postcard can also be decorated with a satin bow. The figures can be different, the main thing is to use the idea.
  • Panoramic heart. A template for such a postcard is easy to find on the Internet. The technique is simple: you need to redraw the template on beautiful thick paper, make cuts in the right places with a sharp knife, then lift the structure and close it again. It turns out a voluminous heart inside a folded postcard.
  • Heart-boat. We fold a boat out of colored paper, glue a mast from a thin stick or skewer to the center, and a red heart and recognition on a white sheet will serve as a sail and a flag. Original? Still would!
  • Heart with a key. Two identical hearts are cut out of cardboard, one remains intact, the middle is removed from the second. We glue it over the whole, glue the whole middle with beautiful beads. We attach a satin ribbon on the back side, thread it into a small key so that it sits on top of the beads. The result is a symbol that speaks for itself: the key to a loving heart.
  • Living heart. We glue small buds of live roses on a cardboard base. It will turn out, of course, short-lived, but unusually beautiful.

We offer you several master classes on creating a wide variety of valentines by February 14th. Here we have collected the best ideas, diagrams, tips, templates, and step-by-step instructions. In this article, you will learn how to make valentines with your own hands from various materials: from paper, felt, beads, threads (we will crochet), salt dough, jewelry, etc.

In this collection you will find both very simple and at the same time original hearts, and those that will take a little more time to create. That is why some of the crafts will be described briefly (you just need to look at the photo to understand how to make a valentine), and we will dwell on others in more detail.

Paper valentines

Let's start with the obvious - paper hearts. To create them, you need cardboard, colored paper and a glue stick. In some cases, additional decor will also be needed - it can be added at will to any of the presented crafts.

Postcard with a volumetric heart

This is a very simple and at the same time spectacular homemade valentine, which will be pleasant to receive on Valentine's Day for a person of any gender and age.

We need:

  • rectangular cardboard base;
  • colored paper for decorating a heart;
  • glue;
  • stencil.

The template can be anything to your liking, however we suggest you cut and fold the finished heart. It looks like this.

You need to cut it out and mark the folds on it.

Fold the heart in half and fold the sides over to it.

Fold the cardboard base in half and attach to it the heart that you cut out of colored paper on a stencil. Mark the place where you will glue the heart. Circle its outline and glue the side parts (small hearts) with glue.

Glue the paper to the cardboard behind the little hearts.

You have got a card with a voluminous paper valentine. You can write a wish right on it, and decorate the cover of the gift for February 14 with felt-tip pens or rhinestones. You can also put another valentine on the cover, the instructions for making which you can find below.

Valentine card made of paper strips

This beautiful and neat valentine can be a great addition to your Valentine's Day gift. It can be attached to a surprise box or bag for a loved one.

We need:

  • paper strips of the same width and different lengths (several colors);
  • stapler or rivets;
  • glue;
  • threads and colored paper for cutting out hearts.

As the main material, you can use craft, corrugated, velvet and any other beautiful paper or cardboard. It's great if this paper has an interesting decor.

The stripes should differ in length by a few centimeters - this depends on the size of the desired valentine.

Fasten the paper strips together at the base: short - closer to the center, the closer to the outside - the longer the strips.

Then fasten the strips together in two and bend them towards the center, forming a heart.

Additionally, you can attach a paper loop to the valentine and make a pendant from thread and small hearts.

A great idea is to write a wish or declaration of love on each strip. Do this from the inside and ask the recipient to disassemble the valentine.

Volumetric 3D valentine from paper

An easy way to cut and fold a valentine with your own hands. The postcard will turn out to be original and very touching. The decor looks intricate, but this heart can be made out of paper or cardboard in just a couple of minutes.

We need:

  • cardboard or colored paper;
  • stencil or ruler;
  • paper cutter;
  • lace.

It is better to take double-sided cardboard or paper. If you don't have one at hand, just glue together two sheets, painted on only one side. Just make sure that all parts of the future gift for February 14 are tightly glued to each other - otherwise it will come out sloppy.

Take a sheet and draw a heart on it. Then we apply a stencil to it or make markings at equal distances. For convenience, use this template.

You can print it or just sketch it schematically.

Then we simply cut the valentine out of paper and go through the marked strips with a cutter. We bend them one by one: we push the first strip forward, the second - back, the third - forward again, etc.

The craft can be completed with a string or thread. Attach a valentine to a gift or give it just like that.

Box-shaped paper valentine

A Valentine is not always a standard postcard. You can give your loved one a box in which you can hide sweets or any other surprise.

We need:

  • cardboard;
  • stencil;
  • glue stick;
  • satin ribbon.

A stencil for cutting a valentine box looks like this.

Print it or sketch it. The sizes can be varied to your liking. In this case, the box is folded from a standard A4 cardboard sheet.

Cut out the image of the heart, having previously marked the fold lines on it.

We fold the box, making the necessary cuts (see how it looks in the photo) and fastening small parts with glue or double-sided tape.

You can attach a satin ribbon bow to the finished box.

Valentines-boxes, decorated in technique, look very nice. If you have napkins, consider this.

Quilling paper valentine

The easiest way to cut out the hearts is to use cookie cutters. If you don't have them, roll out the sculpting mass from which you will make the valentine, and put a cardboard heart on it, and then circle it with a needle and cut off the excess with a knife or spatula.

Decorate the heart with openwork details, buttons, beads and other decor. Bake the valentine in the oven, pre-making a hole in it for the braid.

If you want to add a wish to a homemade valentine, write it on a cardboard heart and tie it to the braid. In addition, a heart made of plaster, polymer clay or salt dough can be painted with paints or special markers and the name of a loved one can be written on it.

Valentines from felt

One of the most popular Valentine's Day cards is felt hearts. They turn out to be delicate and touching, and even an inexperienced master can sew them.

We need:

  • felt of any color;
  • embroidery threads;
  • cotton wool or cotton pads.

Draw a standard heart on the cardboard and then attach it to the felt. You need to cut two identical pieces.

Make a beautiful embroidery, sew on beads or beads and sew the details together. At the same time, it is not at all necessary to make a secret seam - the external finish also looks beautiful.

Stuff the hearts with cotton wool or cotton pads - chubby felt valentines look even prettier.

Here are some ideas for inspiration.

Try to make several valentines at once - you can make cute compositions from them.

These are the valentine cards we got for the holiday!

Valentines are a very relevant gift for Valentine's Day to a loved one, friend or parents.

These postcards came to us from the French. They were the first to start giving hearts, angels, doves in the form of small cards.

Previously, they were covered with gold, lace and expensive materials. Later in the 13th century, the tradition of giving valentines from paper began in England, which happens even sow the day.

It is also the perfect way to confess your self to a young person. Moreover, do it anonymously.

So that your addressee does not recognize you by handwriting, write the text with your left hand or purposefully change your handwriting.

Let him wonder who his secret admirer is.

And I will tell you and show you in my master class how to make a valentine card with your own hands from paper for children and adults.

Yes, it is worth remembering that for children it is necessary to choose something funny and cute, and for adults it is more classic and romantic.

DIY valentines for children

What could be more touching than the first childhood love. Parents should become assistants in this case and help the child make a beautiful postcard.

You should understand that this is not serious, but the child's world is arranged in its own way and for him there is nothing more important than the boy at the next desk or the girl with long pigtails.

It is customary to give valentines for children in schools and kindergartens. This is a kind of tradition. Let your child feel free to confess their feelings.

Well, if he is shy or afraid of being rejected, let him give a valentine with his own hands anonymously.

How to make a valentine card for children "Elephant"

For the elephant, we need:

  • colored paper or cardboard;
  • scissors;
  • 2 large hearts;
  • 3 small hearts;
  • eyes for an elephant;
  • head and trunk.

Cut out these parts as shown in the photo.

Glue two small hearts to two large ones - these will be the ears of an elephant.

On the head, which we cut out in the form of a heart from above, glue the eyes and a heart to the end of the proboscis.

DIY valentine is ready! You can write your love message from the back.

If you don't want someone else to see your words, make a scroll out of paper. It's simple - roll the paper into a tube and tie it with a ribbon.

Attach the tube to the trunk! It will turn out original, funny and childishly romantic.

If you are preparing a valentine for a girl, then choose pink. Such a baby elephant will symbolize dreams and dreams.

How to make valentines for children "Mice" with your own hands

You can make very cute mice out of colored paper. What color to choose is up to you!

It is better, of course, that it is not gray or black. attracts something bright and colorful, especially since the mourning color does not fit into such a romantic holiday as Valentine's Day.

Details for two valentine mice:

  • 4 medium hearts (ears);
  • 2 hearts each (stand);
  • 2 large hearts (body of mice);
  • 2 tails.

So, fold two large hearts in half and glue the ears.

Then we make bends from the bottom of the heart (body of the mouse) to glue the mouse to the base.

We glue the tail to the hind leg and draw the eyes.

We make the spout from threads. Just tie a knot and leave the ends by trimming them with scissors.

Now we need to make a message. After all, without this, our valentine does not make sense.

We take, cut out several circles of white paper and write on them our confessions or wishes (the circles should be no larger than the backs of the mice). Cut off the bottom to make it stable.

We fasten the entire circle in the center with a stapler to get such a little book.

We insert the little book into the hole on the back of the mice and we get an excellent children's Valentine's card.

How to make a valentine card with your own hands "Owl"

A funny idea that any child will love. This symbolizes wisdom, even if the children do not yet understand this, but it is better to give it to a smart boy or girl.

Owl details:

  • a big heart;
  • the heart is slightly smaller than the first (so that the edges of the first heart are visible);
  • two medium hearts;
  • two hearts are slightly smaller than average;
  • three small hearts (legs and beak);
  • two circles with holes (eyes).

We glue all the details to make it look like this.

You can choose velvet paper for the owl, so the owl will look more realistic.

Write your wish text or verse on the back. If you want to hide it from prying eyes, then do not completely glue the second large heart and write under it.

How to make a Valentine's card with your own hands for children "Ladybug"

Ladybug is a symbol of good luck and harmony. It will be nice to receive such a valentine for a girl.

This cute creation of God always attracts little beauties.

Details for Valentine's Day "Ladybug"

  • two hearts (black and red);
  • antennae;
  • head.

Cut out small hearts on a red heart with a clerical knife. You can replace the hearts with circles that are easy to make with a hole punch.

Cut out an oblong triangle from the tip of the heart so that the wings become clearer and glue them to the black heart, slightly straightening it.

We glue the head and antennae. It turns out a beautiful ladybug, on which you can write a message from below and make it to your chosen one.

Children's valentine card with their own hands "Soaring heart"

An interesting idea in which the heart is constantly spinning on a thread and as if floating. For her, we need the following details:

  • 2 rectangles or squares made of colored double-sided cardboard;
  • four multi-colored hearts;
  • threads;
  • sparkles.

First, we need to make a hovering heart. To do this, we take four hearts, and staples them with a stapler in the middle.

Apply sequins to get a more beautiful spinning effect and cling to the middle of the thread staple.

We make one cut on one piece of cardboard from the top and bottom. On the second carton, the opposite is true.

We insert them into one another and fasten the thread with a heart in the cardboard holes. Our heart soars.

You can write about your love on hearts, and they will spin, reminding your chosen one or chosen one of you.

Valentine's card with your own hands "Love-carrot"

A funny and unusual valentine that I came up with while watching one movie. I wanted to use the expression "Love-carrot" and I decided to devote mine to this.

The kids should like it.

Details for valentine:

  • a heart with a cavity inside (also in the form of a heart);
  • cut out bundle of green paper batwa;
  • bunny.

You can cut out the heart-shaped cavity using a clerical knife. It is better to take orange paper as a basis.

We glue the batwa into the hole on top of the valentine to the front wall.

Take a black felt-tip pen and draw dashes on the carrot. We also make the inscription love-carrot.

Cut out the head of a hare with ears from white paper and paint it. You can use pencils, markers, or colored pens.

We glue the bunny to the front wall of the heart, so that it turns out inside.

Write the cherished words inside and present to the addressee.

How to make a valentine card for children "Valentine Bear"

First, we need to cut out the heart, which will be our valentine. Cut it out so that it can be opened i.e. do not cut the top completely.

We make the head, arms and legs of the bear. To make the bear convex, leave small strips of paper, on which you then glue them.

For a valentine, we need the following details:

  • two small rectangles (red and white);
  • Red ribbon;
  • two hearts (red and white);
  • two arbitrary squares (red and white).

We take a hole punch and make holes in width on one side. Do this by folding the two halves at once.

Take the tape and stretch it like this (like tying the laces on a shoe).

We glue the heart on the square. On white - red, on red - white. Then we glue a red square with a white heart on the white half, and vice versa on the white half.

Do-it-yourself valentines "Angels"

This postcard is made in pop-up style, which involves cutting out the product according to the scheme.

I will present you with several schemes that you can use for your valentine and I will show you, using one of them, how to use it correctly.

So, I decided to make angels. To do this, take, print out the diagram or copy it by attaching it to the monitor (as I did).

With the help of a clerical knife, we cut out everything according to the scheme. Where there is a solid line - you need to cut out, where a dash-punch line - bend.

This process is not long and you should not think that you will not succeed. You just need to practice.

When the picture for the valentine is ready, we cut out a postcard of the same width as your picture from red cardboard (double-sided).

We glue the postcard with the image of angels to the cardboard and we get just such a beauty.

Romantic, beautiful and unusual. Everyone will like such a gift!
