On the road in a straight line
It was winter with frost,
Winter was coming home -
The snow was spreading pink.
Two blizzards during the winter
That snow blew, shook,
They whipped up the snow as they wanted,
And they threw crystals.

Let's listen to the clip "Three White Horses" and sing together.

And what kind of holiday do we celebrate in Winter !?

New Year is the favorite holiday for both children and adults. To be honest, every time we hear the chimes ringing, we listen to how the old year leaves and the new one begins.

And even though we have long grown out of a fairy tale, but deep down, I always want to believe that in the new year everything will turn out at least a little, but better, more successful, happier. Maybe that's why we are preparing for this holiday so carefully,

With a great desire we choose gifts, prepare delicious things and arrange a holiday for ourselves and our loved ones.

Today the theme of our event is "Meeting the New Year". We will remember the traditions, customs of celebrating the New Year in Russia, as well as the traditions of celebrating the New Year in different countries.

1. A magical holiday.

What date was the New Year celebrated in Russia?

New Year was celebrated in Ancient Russia in spring, in March, when nature woke up from hibernation.

From the 15th century, the holiday began to be celebrated on September 1, after the harvest. In winter, the New Year began to be celebrated under Peter 1, in 1700.

Tsar Peter issued a decree ordering the New Year to be celebrated on the night of January 1. He went with the singers to the boyars' houses and congratulated them. At this time, fires were kindled in the streets so that there was a lot of light and warmth.

On this day, everyone congratulated each other, decorated houses with pine, juniper and spruce branches, arranged fireworks, lit fires and candles. A Christmas tree decorated with toys was placed in every house.

Of course, every nation, every people has its own

traditions and examples of celebrating a particular celebration. Important

an attribute of this holiday in almost every country is a New Year tree.

We will not break traditions and will also decorate the tree.

We decorate the Christmas tree with the children under the clip (A Christmas tree was born in the forest)

The Christmas tree is burning with lights
Under her shadows are blue,
Spiky needles
As if in white frost.
She thawed out in the warmth,
Spread the needles
And with funny songs
We came to our tree.
Multicolored toys
They hung it on it for us,
And we look at the Christmas tree,
And we are having fun today.
The lights on the tree are bright
Lights up everywhere
In all houses, all over the country
The guys are smiling.

Well, the tree, it's just a miracle,
How smart, how beautiful.
The branches rustle faintly
Beads shine bright
And toys swing -
Flags, stars, crackers.
Here the lights lit up on her,
How many tiny lights!
And decorating the top,
It shines there as always
Very bright, large,
Five-winged star.

Where did the custom of decorating the Christmas tree with New Year's toys come from? ( from Germany)

For the first time, the Christmas tree began to decorate in Germany in the Middle Ages. The first toys were apples, nuts and various sweets. Later, the tree began to be decorated with shiny toys, lamps, candles, and a star was hung at the very top. She is a symbol of the Star of Bethlehem, which indicated the place of birth of Jesus.

We will not meet him in the spring,
He will not come in the summer,
But in the winter to our children
He comes every year.
He has a bright blush,
Beard like white fur
Interesting gifts
He will cook for everyone.
Happy New Year,
He will light a magnificent Christmas tree,
Amusing children
Will stand with us in a round dance.
We meet him amicably,
We are great friends ...
But drink hot tea
This is not a guest!

Who is the main character of the New Year?

Father Frost.

Santa Claus is called differently in each country. In America, Canada, the Netherlands and some other countries, he is known as Santa Claus. He is very similar to our Santa Claus, only instead of a fur coat he wears a red jacket and cap.

The name "Santa Claus" comes from Holland, where Saint Nicholas was called Sinterklaas, and his red and white fur coat and hat remind of the clothes worn in Turkey by the priest Nicholas.

Sita-Klaus lives at the very North Pole. He comes to visit the guys on a magic sleigh in a reindeer team. The most important deer is called Rudolph. He has a bright red nose that helps Santa Claus find his way in the dark.

Finnish Santa Claus has long hair and wears a red hat that looks like a long cap and jacket. He always comes with the gnomes.

Gifts to children in Finland are delivered not by Santa Claus himself, but by ... a goat!

His name is Iolupukki. He only gives gifts to children who are well-behaved. The goat writes all the pranks of children in his magic book.

In Sweden, Yultomtennen comes to children with the dwarf Yulnissar. This is a stooped grandfather, and his nose looks like a bump. He flew to earth three hundred million years ago on a meteorite. More recently, a real house was built especially for him.

Santa Claus arrives in Holland by ship. He brings toys, fruits and candy flowers to children.

In Italy, the good Fairy Befana flies to the children. She appears at night on a magic broom. The fairy quietly fills the children's stockings with gifts, which are hung from the fireplace.

In Australia, New Years are celebrated in the summer. Santa Claus has a light cap on his head, his shirt is belted with a belt, his pants are tucked into felt boots. He arrives on a special board on which they ride the waves.

In distant Guinea, an elephant is giving gifts. To music and songs, he walks the streets.

In Syria, a two-humped camel delivers gifts to children.

In Turkey, it is believed that the first New Year's Grandfather was the priest Nicholas, who lived in the city of Demre at the beginning of our era. He loved children and often gave them gifts.

Mongolian Santa Claus is very similar to a shepherd. He is dressed in a shaggy fur coat and a fox hat.

In China, New Year is a lantern festival. They come in various shapes, such as vegetables and fruits. Lanterns are decorated with drawings.

In Brazil, Papa Noel comes to the kids, in Belgium - Saint-Nicholas, and here everyone knows him as Santa Claus.

At the New Year's celebrations, he began to appear at the end of the 19th century. This is an old man with a white beard, a red long fur coat studded with stars or snowflakes, and a red hat. He always comes with his granddaughter Snegurochka.

You will see the whole world and not once,
So save your money now, right away.

Always keep your tail with a pipe
If you don't miss a moment,
You will be our president.

If you want to be happy
Then you have this advice:
Eat three kilograms of salt
And a big bag of candy
Then drink some water,
You will be happy, for the life of me.

All will get bored. And embroidery.
And a TV. And the ottoman.
Do some belly dancing!

New Year is one of the most joyful and famous holidays in the whole world. And, of course, both children and adults expect something fabulous from this holiday. So today we will go on an intellectual, a little fabulous journey to a country called "New Year", learn the history and legends of many New Year's things, get acquainted with the customs of different nations and learn how to make the holiday fun and joyful.

2.Mysteries of meeting the New Year (presenter)

On the screen

The past year is leaving

And the hasty time does not wait.

The last calendar leaf was torn off,

New Year is marching towards us!

New Year is the oldest holiday. However, it was not always celebrated in cold weather, in January. According to scientists, the origin of the tradition of celebrating the New Year refers toIIImillennium BC. They began to celebrate it inAncient egypt ... The year began on July 19, when Neil "woke up". I want to note that for all peoples the dates of the holidays obey, in the main, the laws of nature. After all, a person's life depends on her.

InhabitantsAncient Rus together with Christianity they adopted the Byzantine system of chronology. In Byzantium at that time they used the Julian calendar, in which the new year began on September 1.

But most peoples associated the beginning of the year with the sun. VAncient rome the new year began in the spring, because at this time field work began.

VAncient Greece the beginning of the year fell on the longest day of the year - June 22, and the Greeks led the chronology from the famous Olympic Games.

For the first time, the calendar, in which the year began on January 1, was introduced by the Roman emperor Julius Caesar.

Where did the custom of decorating a Christmas tree come from? I think that our birthday boy - New Year will help me (the assistant to the presenter in a New Year's costume comes out. He tells the riddle of the “birth” of the Christmas tree). 3

3. The riddle of the "birth" of the Christmas tree (tells a fairy-tale character)

On the screen (a poem, an image of a decorated Christmas tree, you can show the selected material, how the first decorated Christmas trees looked like)

Sparkle with lights, tree,

Call us to the holiday.

Fulfill all desires

Make all your dreams come true!

The custom of decorating a Christmas tree is very old - it is about two thousand years old. The herringbone was not chosen by chance. Because evergreens are a symbol of the indestructibility of life, its constant rebirth. And this is especially important in winter.

It is believed thatChristmas trees first appeared in Germany in VIII century. In European countries, Christmas trees appeared later - in XVI- NSViicenturies.

Since 1737, the Christmas tree began to be decorated with scraps of paper and various tinsel, and in 1775. silver-plated and gilded potatoes were even hung on the forest beauty!

In 1815 the tree was first decorated with candles, and from 1850 glass decorations became fashionable.

Germany is considered the birthplace of the holiday of the New Year tree. The harsh and warlike ancient Germans believed that the "spirit of the forest" lived in the tree. They came to the tree with various requests, they believed that the spruce could cope with evil forces, since all its branches were in needles.

And how did the Christmas tree appear inOf Russia ? It is believed that she came after the decree of PeterIdated December 15, 1699, the decree ordered to decorate houses. But after the death of Peter, the decree was forgotten. Only in the middle of XI10th century German princess Maria Feodorovna, wife of NicholasI, revived the tradition of decorating the Christmas tree. But in general, in Russia, on different occasions, they decorated different trees: for Trinity - a birch, for Easter - a willow.

The first trees were artificial, made small so that they could be placed on the table. They were very expensive and not available to everyone. But soon they began to trade in live trees. Tall and fluffy spruce trees were set on the floor on a cross, gifts were placed under the spruce paws.

In 1882, the American E. Johnson proposed using electric lighting to decorate the Christmas tree.

At the end of the reading of the poem: 4

How beautiful the Christmas tree is!

How she dressed up - look!

The dress on the tree is green

Bright beads shine on the chest.

Our tree is tall and slender,

In the evening, it will all sparkle

With the sparkle of lights and snowflakes and stars -

Like a peacock's tail open!

Christmas tree in your gold pockets

Hid many different sweets

And she held out thick branches to us,

Like a hostess, she welcomes guests.

You can't find a tree better than anywhere else!

With a good tree and a good holiday!

O. Vysotskaya

4. The riddle of the song "A Christmas tree was born in the forest" (tells one of the students)

At the very beginning of the twentieth century (1903), the poem "Fir" was published in the December issue of the "Baby" magazine. The author did not indicate his last name, but signed himself with the pseudonym "A.E." This is how the story of the most amazing song "Herringbone" began. Amateur musician Leonid Karlovich Beckman read this poem and decided to write music. This is how the song turned out. It sounded for Christmas.

After the revolution, the Bolsheviks excluded Christmas from the holidays of the calendar and forgot about the song. She received her second birth in 1941. Then the author of the poetry was found. It turned out to be Raisa Adamovna Kudasheva.

5. Riddles of Christmas tree decorations (tells one of the students)

Why is the Christmas tree decorated with glittering tinsel? There is a legend. Once upon a time there was a kind, poor woman who had many children. On the evening before Christmas she had decorated the tree, but she had very few decorations. At night, spiders visited the tree and, crawling from branch to branch, left a cobweb on its branches. As a reward for the woman's kindness, the Christ Child blessed the tree, and the web turned into sparkling silver.

Very often, Christmas tree decorations are not just child's play.Toys have a secret meaning.

Paper chains symbolize our connection with Christmas, as well as our connection with God, with the whole world, with animals and plants, with all people in the world.

Star - this is the Christmas star, which lit up over Bethlehem, and which the shepherds saw.

Confetti - the name is consonant with the word "candy". At the famous Roman carnivals at the beginning of XIIn the 10th century, it was customary to throw small "sweets" at each other - candied nuts. Later, instead of sweets, balls of plaster and chalk were used. But after someone was hurt by such confetti, this custom came to naught. He was reborn in Paris - a hundred years ago. Among the festive inventions were confetti (paper balls).

6. Santa Claus and Snow Maiden (two students tell)

Well, what a New Year without Santa Claus and Snow Maiden! Do you know where he lives?

The chief Santa Claus lives at the North Pole. From there he comes to the holiday on his reindeer. But the inhabitants of Finland, Greenland and Sweden claim that he is a resident of their countries. The Finns are sure that his home is in Lapland. More recently, Russian Santa Claus settled in the Vologda region in the city of Veliky Ustyug, where he is looking forward to letters from children and adults. He even has an address:

162340 Vologda region, Veliky Ustyug,

st. Vinogradov, 4, Santa Claus. (Show on screen)

Veliky Ustyug is the same age as Moscow. The Veliky Ustyug - Father Frost's homeland project was born on the initiative of the former Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov and the Vologda Oblast Governor Vyacheslav Pozgalev. In Veliky Ustyug, the town of Ded Moroz has been built, which accepts children throughout the year, and not only on New Year's holidays. 6

In America and England, a good old man is called Santa Claus. He is dressed in a red caftan, with a white beard and a bag of gifts. In anticipation of this holiday, children write letters to Santa Claus in Lapland (northern Finland), and on the night before the holiday they hang stockings out of the window, put shoes out of the door so that gifts can be put there.

In all countries, Santa Claus is called differently. But if Santa Claus is considered a bachelor, but our grandfather has a wife - Zimushka-Winter, which means there are children and grandchildren. It's about the Snow Maiden - the granddaughter of Santa Claus. It is with her that he comes to the holiday.

The Snow Maiden is on the screen.

I am the granddaughter of Frost and Blizzard,

I come here every year!

With me snowflakes are friends

They lead a merry round dance.

The story of the Snow Maiden girl ends sadly. That is why she is always portrayed as a sad white-faced beauty, full of cool charm.

Before PeterIthere were two New Years in Russia. One - church, celebrated on March 1, the other - civil, celebrated on September 1. PeterIestablished a single New Year withJanuary 1, 1700 ... This was the first general New Year's holiday in Russia.

On the screenFragment of Peter's decree I .

“Because the New Year is considered differently in Russia, from now on, stop fooling people's heads and count the New Year everywhere from January 1. And as a sign of that good undertaking and joy, congratulate each other on the New Year, wishing prosperity in affairs and prosperity in families. In honor of the New Year, decorate with fir trees, amuse children on sledges, ride from the mountains. And adults do not commit drunkenness and scuffle - other days are enough for that. "

Since then, not only New Year trees have begun to appear in Russia, but also balls and masquerades. The favorite winter hobby of the people was riding in troikas. In addition, bells sounded, street festivities were organized with mummers, noisy rides from slides and carousels.

The most striking entertainment for many centuries remained the game - the competition "Taking the Snow Town". (Demonstration of a reproduction of the painting by V.N. Surikov of the same name, 1891)

Concluding remarks from the leader (teacher)

Among adults and children, there is hardly a single person who does not like the New Year. Everyone is waiting for this holiday, and not only because it is unusual, fabulous, but also because, meeting it, everyone expects a miracle. Here comes the New Year and ... a miracle will happen. It has to happen. They always wait for the New Year, prepare for it, try to celebrate it in a fun and unusual way. Everyone wants to believe that "as you celebrate the New Year, so it will pass." And the holiday itself presupposes miracles, and they are always a mystery. The main thing is to really want and miracles will certainly be!

And in conclusion, I want to invite everyone to Romania and treat them to a pie with surprises. In such pies, Romanians bake various small objects, so you need to eat it carefully, who gets what.

Different peoples, different customs, but one thing unites them - the MEETING OF THE NEW YEAR, GOOD HOLIDAY!Happy New Year!

There is always a lesson at the end of the second quarter, when all the grades are worth it and you can get distracted a little, or you can just ruin the class hour. In this development, I propose a few background, which can be used in the game in groups on the eve of the New Year. They can be varied depending on the time and desire.

1. Usually the first task is to create a mood. More often it is dedicated to the future or past year.

In the year of the dragon, I offered the following assignment.

In one Chinese treatise, they write about this animal: “Head like a camel, horns like a deer, eyes like a hare, ears like a cow, neck like a snake, belly like a sea animal Shen, scales like a carp, claws like a hawk, paw like a tiger ... "

While reading, the children draw in turn, passing the sheet: the head - a camel, eyes - a hare, horns - a deer, ears - cows, neck - snakes, scales - carp, belly - a mollusk, paws - a tiger, claws - an eagle

Who did you get it? - The symbol of the next year - the dragon - this will be the emblem of your team.

In the Year of the Horse, I offered to find hidden horses in the picture (there are many similar pictures on the network not only with horses).

2. Read the encrypted phrase.

Starting with the letter H, connect the letters and read the phrase that will turn out:

Answer: On the eve of Christmas

The carriage came.

Here you can ask the guys what a kolyada is and tell them that this is the Slavic folk name for Christmas Eve, the Feast of the Nativity of Christ, as well as Christmastide from Christmas to Epiphany. Dressing up (dressing up with the use of skins, masks and horns), carols, carols, presenting carols, youth games, fortune-telling were integral attributes of the holiday.

Kolyada (kolo - circle) - Slavic-Russian God, baby sun, God of winter festivities, God of the beginning of a new life. The nascent Sun appears as a child. The baby is the disk of the Sun, which has been called Kolo since ancient times. Baby Kolyada is captured by the witch Zima and turns him into a wolf cub. When the wolf's skin is removed from Kolyada and burned over the spring fire, Kolyada will appear in all its glory. And the Sun is sent in a cart to the south, to meet the spring.

While the people are caroling and crumbling from the frost under their feet the snow, witches and evil spirits rage, stealing stars and a moon from heaven. Everywhere they are guessing about marriage, about the harvest, about the offspring. And conspiracy and matchmaking are followed by weddings.

3. Quiz "Are you ready to meet Santa Claus"

  1. Establish a correspondence between the name of Santa Claus and the country:
  1. Set the correspondence: who delivers gifts in what ways
  1. Establish a correspondence between the name of Santa Claus and the country

Sinterklaas - Holland, Papa Noel - Spain, Yulebukk - Norway, Per Noel - France, Babo Nattole - Italy, Joulupukki - Finland, Sho Hin - China, Oji-san - Japan, Sylvester - Austria, Jul Temten - Sweden, Baba Mine - Azerbaijan, Ezhishek - Slovakia.

  1. Set the correspondence: who delivers gifts in what ways:

Russian - in a bag under the tree, German - leaves on the windowsill, Mexican - in a boot, French - pours down the chimney, Swedish - puts it on the stove, Spanish - throws off on the balcony, American - in a sock.

  1. Establish correspondences between modern and old Russian months:

January - cut, February - lute, March - birch, April - bloom, May - grass, June - crescent, July - worm, August - serpen, September - spring, October - leaf fall, November - breast, December - jelly

Here you can tell that the ancient Slavs divided the year into twelve months, the names of which were closely associated with natural phenomena. Szechen (January) - the time of deforestation; fierce (February) - severe frosts; berezol (March) - they took juice from birches; bloom (April) - blooming gardens; grass (May) - the grass turns green; worm (June) - cherries turn red;
lipets (July) - linden blossom; serpen (August) - the harvest is in progress; heather (September) - heather bloom; falling leaves (October) - falling leaves from trees; chest (November) - from the word "pile" - a frozen track on the road;
jelly (December) - cold, cold. Many Old Slavic names of the months of the year were later transferred to a number of Slavic languages.

7. Logical problem

Since I am a computer science teacher, I definitely give a logical problem, which is solved in a tabular way on the New Year's theme.

Gifts from Santa Claus

Children in the Petrov family behaved well all year and received gifts from Santa Claus. Masha, Nastya, Sasha, Roma, Seryozha ran to open the presents. Each of them received a gift and not one was repeated.

Sasha thought that Nastya got the ball.

Nastya assumed that Roma received a set of pencils, and Masha received puzzles.

Roma believed that Seryozha got puzzles, and Sasha got a twister.

Masha thought that Nastya got the game "Erudite", and Roma got the ball.

As a result, it turned out that they were all wrong in their assumptions. Who received what gift from Santa Claus?

Answer: Sasha - puzzles, Masha - pencils, Nastya - twister, Roma - "Erudite", Seryozha - ball,

Here are some more examples of logical problems, which were suggested by the teacher of computer science and ICT of the MOU "Lyceum No. 13" of Petrozavodsk, Ekaterina Mikhailovna Gavrilova in her methodological development of a computer science lesson on solving logical problems.

Problem number 1 Celebrating the New Year

In Russia, the date for celebrating the New Year under Prince Vladimir, Peter I and John Vasilievich III was September 1, January 1, March 1.

  • Those who chose the suit of Dobrynya Nikitich are smaller than those who chose the suit of Ilya Muromets
  • Dobrynya Nikitich's suit did not fit Alexei
  • None of the friends' name coincides with the name of the heroes, the selected costumes

Which costume did each of your friends choose?

Answer: Alexey - Ilya Muromets, Alyosha Popovich - Evgeny, Dobryni Nikitich - Nikolay.

Problem number 3 "New Year's card"

Three classmates - Vlad, Timur, Konstantin put forward versions of the appearance of a New Year's card:

1. The first Christmas card appeared in England in 1794. The artist Dobson, while congratulating his friend on the holiday, painted a family scene around a Christmas tree and a winter landscape.

2. According to another version, they began to send postcards for Christmas only in 1841, it was then that they appeared in the shop window of an entrepreneurial

3. According to the third version, the first to write a Christmas greeting card was the Englishman Henry Cole, who was on friendly terms with Prince Albert, the spouse of Queen Victoria. In 1843, Cole, too busy to congratulate all his many friends in writing, asked the artist John Calcott Hosley to draw a postcard.

9. Caesar Code

This task will also be interesting, first of all, to a computer science teacher.

Caesar's cipher, also known as shift cipher, Caesar code or Caesar shift- one of the simplest and most well-known encryption methods.

The cipher is named after the Roman emperor Guy Julius Caesar who used it for secret correspondence with his generals.

Each letter in this cipher is replaced by another letter located at a certain distance from the first. For example, in a cipher with a shift of 4 "A" is replaced by "D", "B" - "E", "B" - "F" and so on.

And to make it easier to encrypt the inscriptions, you can use the following disks:

I have such circles prepared from cardboard. Their centers are connected (the first - less, the second - more). You can just put the alphabet and explain the rule: all letters are shifted in this case by 5 letters (letter A - E, G - Z) You can encrypt any phrase.

10. Puzzles

I have prepared cut pictures of the New Year theme, or you can buy ready-made puzzles. Since I work in an informatics office and have computers, the captains put puzzles on the computer, and the teams do it on paper.

Children from grades 5 to 8 are happy to play these games. I do not give all tasks at once, so I can play for several years in a row with the same class, slightly supplementing and changing these tasks.
