The first way. Pom-poms with cardboard templates.

The best results are obtained when making pom-poms using two basic cardboard templates. In this case, the product turns out to be very lush and neat.

To make a pompom in this way, you will need the following materials and tools:

a sheet of thick cardboard;
a simple pencil and compasses;
suitable threads;
a needle with a large eye;
small scissors (manicure can be used).

Operating procedure:

Using a compass, draw two identical circles of the required diameter on a sheet of white cardboard. Draw another small circle in the center of each. Cut out both parts. If a compass was not found at home, then you can use improvised items (cups, saucers, lids, etc.).

Then make a loop from a piece of thread and put it on top of one of the parts, cover it on top with a second cardboard circle, aligning their edges.

Pass a long thread through the needle and start winding both circles with it, holding the templates with your hand so that the loop clamped inside them does not slip out. The more layers of thread you wind, the thicker and thicker the pompom will be.

When the templates are completely wrapped, using a nail scissors, you need to cut the threads along the outer edge, after which, slightly pushing the circles to the sides, you should tightly tie the thread in the middle so that the pompom does not disintegrate. Only then can the templates be removed.

Second way. By winding the thread around your fingers.

This method is the fastest. It will come in handy when there are no aids at hand with which you could make a pom-pom.

Take a ball and wind a few turns of thread around four fingers of your hand. Then, tie a bundle of threads in the middle without removing from your fingers. The disadvantage of this method is that it is problematic to tightly knit the threads wound around the hand without outside help.

Third way. With the back of a chair.

This method is good when you need to make a lot of pom-poms in a short time. Its essence is that first a "sausage" is made of threads, which is then cut into pieces.

This can be done as follows.

Wind the threads around the back of the chair, carefully remove and tie the resulting thread "sausage" with pieces of thread, in several places at the same distance. Then cut the threads with scissors between the bundles in the center and get a lot of pompoms.

Or wrap the threads around the thin legs of the chair, make the required number of dressings, and only then remove and cut.

Fourth way. We make pom-poms with a fork.

It is suitable for making small pom-poms.

In this case, for work, in addition to threads and scissors, you will also need an ordinary table fork. Wind the threads around it and tie the bundle in the middle (as in the case of winding around the fingers). Then cut the threads around the edges and fluff up the pompom. It makes cute little pompoms.

Fifth way. We make simple brushes.

In addition to round pom-poms, you can often find tassels made of threads in products. The process of creating them is extremely simple.

Tie a bundle of threads, the length of which is equal to two lengths of the finished pompom, with a thread in the middle. Then fold it in half and, stepping back 1 cm from the top, make several turns around the folded bundle with a thread, the ends of which are firmly tied and hidden inside the pompom. Then, with scissors, trim the edges of the threads in the bundle so that the product has a neat look.

The classic way

In the classic version, you need to draw two identical cardboard circles with a compass. From the same central point, you need to measure a smaller circle, cut it out. It is the length of the remaining circle that will correspond to the radius of the ball.

How to quickly make a yarn pompom with a cardboard blank:

Between the circles, insert a long thread in a circle (closer to the center), crossing the edges at the base.
Hold the cardboard blanks firmly to prevent the thread from shifting.
Wrap the template with yarn so that the threads lie flat, tightly to each other. In this case, you can wind up with multi-colored sectors or layers.
At the ends of the thread, pull the scissors, cut along the outer edge of the circle, without touching the hidden edges.
Gently move the cardboard blanks a little bit, bandage the middle.
You remove the templates. Fluff the pompom, cut off the excess.

This method is disposable, since the cardboard circles are easily deformed. But in handicraft stores, detachable plastic devices of various diameters are already sold for making pompons.

"Multi-line" method

To get a lot of balls in a short time for original scarves, making a Christmas tree or garland, a blanket, take a children's table, threads, scissors.

How to quickly make a lot of yarn pom poms:

turn the table upside down;
wrap two table legs with threads;
try to wind the thread in one circle;
you get two windings;
wrap strong threads around the leg several times, tie in a knot;
pull back a couple of centimeters, tie the strand again;
follow the procedure around the entire yarn;
remove the tied strand;
cut the threads in the middle of two windings;
follow the procedure to the end;
fluff the resulting lumps, trim.

Pay attention to the following little things. The thicker the table legs, the more convenient it is to draw the wrapped strand. The shorter the distance between the constrictions, the smaller the pom-poms. If you need elastic balls, then take thick threads, while tying the winding tightly.

How to make small yarn pom poms quickly on a fork

When you need miniature pom-poms for panels, crafts, Christmas wreaths, you will need forks. It is more convenient to make a ball on a large kitchen fork, since the middle is empty. In this case, balls with a diameter of three to four centimeters are obtained.

Step back from the edge of the thread ten to fifteen centimeters.
Wind the threads around the fork, being careful not to move the strand.
Cut the thread from the ball.
Next, cross the two ends of the winding, rewind tightly in the middle, tie into a knot.
Take a strand from the fork on the sides.
Fluff up the ball by rolling it in your palms.
Trim the edges with sharp scissors.
If the pom-poms need to be tied, then do not cut the ends of the dressing.

How to quickly make a yarn pompom on a table fork:

wind the yarn around a fork, not forgetting to leave the end of the thread;
pinch the base of the fork with your fingers so that the strand does not fly off;
pull the bottom edge of the thread towards you between the two teeth of the fork;
bring the upper edge of the thread through the middle to the opposite side;
lift the ends of the threads up, cross them and tie tightly in the center several times;
then remove the strand, straighten it;
cut the resulting lump in the middle, giving the shape of a pompom.

On a table fork, balls two to three centimeters in size are obtained. For convenience, the middle teeth can be removed with pliers. To get pom-poms less than two centimeters, leave only three cloves on the fork, and wind on the next two.

How to quickly make a yarn pompom with your hands

The ball is obtained from a winding of thread, tied in the center and cut along.Consequently, the balls can be twisted on your fingers, paying particular attention to the force of pulling the center of the winding. The number of fingers on the left hand determines the diameter of the pompom. Therefore, with the help of your hand, you can make balls with a circumference of two to eight centimeters.

Leave the edge of the thread so that it is convenient to tug and tie a thick winding.
Wind the threads around the desired number of fingers.
Do not overtighten your fingers, otherwise it will be difficult to remove the winding.
Watch the amount of winding. The more threads, the thicker and tougher the ball, but the more difficult it is to fix the thread in the center (you can additionally sew the joint with a needle).
Count the number of revolutions to experimentally obtain the required density of the pompom.
Carefully remove the winding from your fingers, cross the ends of the thread, tie the middle.
Spread the winding around, cut along the edges.
Shape into a ball by trimming the ends.

Cardboard templates

With the help of cardboard, balls of different diameters can be made. For example, you make a circle as in the classic version, only in one place you cut off one centimeter. This distance between the edges of the circle simplifies the process of winding and tightening the ends of the yarn in the center of the pompom.

If you take a rectangle and cut narrow triangles on the short sides in the middle, then the ball is made like on a hand. The ends of the thread are fixed at the vertices of the triangles, and the yarn is wound between them. Cut off the sides and tie the threads. A simple rectangle is used to make a tassel pom-pom.

How to make yarn pom poms quickly:

along the length of the rectangle, put the thread to tie the crown of the brush;
wind the threads in the middle of the rectangle (this is the base of the pompom);
tie the top of the head with a thread;
remove the winding, step back a centimeter, pull the brush with a thread;
at the long edge of the winding, cut the middle, adjust the ends.

Multi-colored pom-poms

To create fruits, berries or animal faces, you need a cardboard horseshoe blank. Winding is done with different threads in the center of the template. If you need to get long threads, then pencils are superimposed, which are wrapped around the pattern. Then you pull the yarn and cut it. By trimming the pom-pom, any shape is obtained.

Consider one example of how to make yarn pom-poms quickly (photo of berries with fruits). Wind up the red yarn, make some white stripes. Cover with red winding on top, wind green yarn at one end. Pull off the wound pompom, cut the sides, correct the shape of the strawberries. Moreover, the greens are longer than the red yarn. How to make a pompom

You will need:

Thick cardboard of any color

Step 1
Cut two identical circles out of cardboard. Their diameter depends on the size of the pom-poms, the optimal one is 3-5 cm. Cut out round holes in the center of the circles.

Step 2
Fold the long woolen thread several times and thread into a large needle with a long, wide eye. Using a needle, wind the thread tightly around the template.

Step 3
Use sharp scissors to cut the thread between the cardboard rings. Spread the rings by 0.5 cm so that you can put a thread between them for bandaging.

Step 4
Tie the pompom tightly between the rings of the template with a double thread. Remove the rings carefully. Do not cut the middle thread, use it for fastening.

Ready template

Another way to make pom poms is with plastic templates sold at craft stores. They differ in diameter: from 3 to 9 cm. The technology is similar to the method of creating pompons using cardboard circles, with the only difference that first two halves of the pompom are made, and then they are connected.

Pom-poms made using templates are, as a rule, not quite round in shape, since the tension of the thread changes during winding. The outer, looser turns produce longer threads than the inner ones. To give the pom-pom the correct rounded shape, you need to remove
from the template, carefully trim it with sharp scissors.

✓ Middle ring

This is a very important factor. If the hole inside the template circle is too small, too few threads will fit in it, and the pompom will turn out to be loose and ugly. A hole with a diameter equal to half the diameter of the pompom is considered optimal. The thread must be wound very tightly, so that the entire inner hole is filled, and it is impossible to pass the needle through it.
