Description of the top

How to knit a motif for a top

For a top for a 10-year-old girl, it took 1 partial skein of 100g skein of Astra cotton (610m/100g) and quite a bit of white (it seems that the skein was almost never used). The bottom of the product and the straps with the neck are worked with single crochets with alternating colors and crab step.

Back. Cast on 105 air loops (13 horizontal repeats + 1 last loop), knit 2 repeats in height with an openwork pattern. In the first row of the third repeat (the entire row is knitted with double crochets), decrease 8 stitches evenly. I distributed it like this: knit the first 6 double crochets, the 7th and 8th double crochets together (reduce by 1 loop). *Then work 11 double crochets as usual. Knit the 12th and 13th stitches together. From * repeat until the end of the row.

Work the last 6 double crochets without decreasing. There will be 97 loops left in the work or 12 horizontal repeats + 1 (last) double crochet. Continue knitting according to the pattern, knitting 2 more repeats in height. In the first row of the fifth repeat, decrease 8 stitches evenly: knit the first 3 double crochets as usual; Knit the 4th and 5th stitches together; *knit 9 double crochets, knit the 10th and 11th stitches together (reduction). From * repeat until the end of the row.

Work the last 4 double crochets without decreasing. There will be 89 loops left in the work or 11 horizontal repeats + 1 last loop. Knit 2 more repeats in height with an openwork pattern. Knit a row with double crochets, and decrease one loop at the beginning and end of the row. In the next row, proceed to knitting the upper part: knit 2 connecting loops, then knit according to the pattern from the magazine. I got 5 rapports. To do this, in 3 of the 19 repeats of the “Fans” you need to knit not 3 arches from the vp, but only 2. In this case, the total number of arches in the circular row will be 54, which will give 9 horizontal repeats of the “Rhombus” pattern (6 arches each from v.p. for each repeat of the rhombus).
In principle, such a reduction in the number of loops can be made in the last row of the bodice (item 3 of the description), before moving on to the row under the lace.
