A fluffy skirt for a Snow Maiden costume. DIY Snow Maiden costume: creative ideas. Adult outfits for the New Year

Good day to all, dear Beybiki!
New Years is soon! The most anticipated holiday of the year. Let's get our babies ready for the New Year's ball.

Snow Maiden dress for a girl (about 6 months)
I am not a master of tailoring and sewing (I like to knit more), but I can make something ... So I decided to sew a suit for my daughter for the New Year's holiday, I thought for a long time which one and settled on the Snow Maiden's suit. I’ll say right away that I don’t know how to sew (I haven’t studied anywhere - all by the TYKA method). But nevertheless, I think that my experience will be useful to someone and will help ... And if at least one person likes it, then it’s not in vain that she started all this. According to my description, it will be possible to make a pattern for a dress even for a person who has decided on it for the first time! I sewed the DRESS FROM FABRIC FOR CURTAINS (there was a piece of about 1 mx 1.5 m and it was enough for my head), I decorated it with what was at home in stock. So let's get started ...
Bodice to the dress

Size 22 (we will be almost 6 months old by NG, weight - about 8kg (I think another 500 grams to NG, height - 64cm (plus 1-2 cm to NG)

Building a pattern drawing

To build a drawing of a pattern, the following measurements are required:
Height ……………………………………………………… 64cm

The length of the bra to the waist (Diz) …………. 20cm (15cm) later I will write why 15 cm)
Neck semicircle (Posh) ……………… .12cm

Chest semicircle (POg) …………… ..22cm (+ 2 = 24)

For a free fit, 2-4 cm is added to the measure of the semicircle of the chest and all further calculations are carried out based on this value:

22 + 2 = 24 cm.

We draw a right angle with the vertex at point P (I immediately apologize for the quality of the photos, because I shot while my daughter was sleeping and there was a dim light in the room, but at other times there was no time!)

Bra length. From point P, put down the measured measurement (20cm) or the length of the bodice, obtained by calculation (1/5 of the height plus 8 cm), and put the point T.

Armhole depth. From point P downward, put aside 1/3 POg plus 4.5 cm and set point G: RG = 24: 3 + 4.5 = 12.5 cm.

From points G and T to the left, draw horizontal lines of the chest and waist.

Bodice width. From the point G to the left, we set aside POr with an increase of 2 cm for free fit and set the point GG1 = 22 + 2 = 24 cm.

Through point Г1, draw a vertical line of arbitrary length at its intersection with the waist line, set point Т1.

The width of the back, armholes and front. Divide the line ГГ1 into three equal parts and put the points Г2 and Г

From the point Г2 we restore the perpendicular and the point of its intersection with the horizontal line drawn from the point P to the left, we denote by P.

Side line. We divide the distance Г2Г3 in half and denote the middle by the point Г4.

From point G4 we lower the perpendicular point of its intersection with the horizontal line T T1 denote T2.

Sprout width. From point P to the left, set aside 1/3 Posh plus 2 cm and set point P1:

PP1 = 12: 3 + 2 = 6 cm.

The depth of the sprout. From point P downwards, we put 5 cm aside and set point P2.

We connect points P1 and P2 with a concave curve.

Shoulder width. We connect points P1 and P1 with a straight line and, continuing it by 2 cm, set point P2.

From the point Г2 along the bisector of the angle, set aside 2 cm and put the point O. To design the armhole of the back, we connect points P2, O and G4 with a concave line.

Front height. From the point G1 upwards, we set aside a value equal to the depth of the armhole plus 2 cm, and set the point P3: G1 P3 = 12.5 + 2 = 14.5 cm.

From point P3 to the right we draw a horizontal line and the point of its intersection with the perpendicular restored from point G3 is denoted by P3.

Neck width. From point P3 to the right, set aside 1/3 POSH plus 2cm and set point P4:

Р3Р4 = 12: 3 + 2 = 6cm.

Neck depth. From point P3 downwards we put off 1/3 POSH plus 5 cm and set point P5:

Р3Р5 = 12: 3 + 5 = 9 cm

We connect points P4 and P5 with a straight line. Divide the line Р4Р5 in half and denote the middle by point О1. Set aside 1.5 cm from the point O1 at a right angle and set the point O2.

We connect points P4, O2 and P5 with a concave curve.

Clasp. From points P2 and T to the right at a right angle, set aside 6 cm and put points O4 and O5, which we connect with a straight line. From the point O4, we put 1 cm upwards and put the point O6. We connect points O6 and P2.

Shoulder slope. Set aside 1 cm from point P3 down and set point P4.

Front shoulder width. We connect points P4 and P4 with a straight line and, continuing by 2 cm, set point P5. From the point G3 along the bisector of the angle, set aside 2 cm and set the point O3. To design the armhole of the front, we connect the points P5, O3 and G4 with a concave curve.

Or here is a pattern from a book (you can trace all the points according to this drawing and everything will be clear and understandable)

Using this drawing, you can make a bra pattern for school-age children - a quote from the book!

Construction of a drawing of a sleeve pattern.

The width of the upper part of the sleeve. From point G to the left, set aside one and a half width of the armhole of the dress (width of the armhole = 1 / 4POg) plus 4 cm (for all sizes) and put the point G1: GG1 = 5.5 + 2.25 + 4 = 12.25 (I take 12.5cm).

The width of the lower part of the sleeve. From point Г1 to the left, set aside the width of the armhole of the dress plus 1 cm and set the point Г2: Г2 = 5.5 + 1 = 6 cm.

The width of the front roll. From the point G to the right, set aside 5 cm (for all sizes) and set the point G3.

From points Г2 and Г3 we lower the perpendiculars and the points of their intersection with the bottom line are denoted by Н1 and Н2, and the point of intersection with the line of the elbow –L1.

Notch From point L1 to the left, set aside 1 cm (for all sizes) and set point L2. We connect points G3, L2 and H2 with straight lines.

Distance to the middle of the okat. From point G to the left, set aside the width of the dress armhole (5.5 cm) and set point G4. From point Г4 we restore the perpendicular and the point of its intersection with the horizontal line drawn from point A, denote P.

Auxiliary point. From the point G4 upwards we put aside 2.5 cm (3.5 for all large sizes) and put the point O1. We connect the points O and O1 with a straight line and continue it until the intersection with the perpendicular restored from the point Г1. The intersection point is designated O2.

From point P to the right, set aside 1.5 cm (for all sizes) and set point P1.

We connect points P and O2, as well as P1 and O with straight lines. We divide straight lines PO2 and P1O in half and set aside 0.5 cm perpendicularly from the middle and put points O6 and O5.

For large sizes, we act differently: from point P1 down the line P1O, set aside 4.5 cm (for all sizes) and set point O4. From points O3 and O4 at a right angle, set aside 1.25 cm for the bulge of the okat and set points O5 and O6.

To design an okat, we connect points G2, O8, O2, O6, P, P1, O5, O, O7 and G3 with a smooth curve. I did not set points O8 and O7, because so everything went well. But for large sizes I will describe how to expose them.

From the point G along the bisector of the angle, set aside 2 cm and set the point O7, and from the point G1 we set aside 3 cm and set the point O8.

We continue building the sleeve ...

From the point Г1 to the right, set aside 2.5 cm (for all sizes) and set the point Г5, from which we lower the perpendicular to the intersection with the line Н1Н2 and the intersection point is designated Н3. From the H3 point downwards, we set aside 2 cm (2.5 cm for large sizes) and set the H4 point to ensure free movement of the arm when bending. To design the bottom of the sleeve, we connect the points H1, H4, H and H2 of the curve.

And I also wanted to collect the sleeve at the bottom when sewing, but when I started to sew, I decided to leave the flared sleeve.

For the bottom of the dress I used a "sun" skirt according to the pattern in the photo.

Skirt length - 25 cm

The semicircle of the waist took the total length of the bottom of the bodice to the dress (Sweat) -29 cm.

We draw a horizontal line of arbitrary length, divide it in half and denote the middle by point A (see figure)

Waist length. From the point to the right, left and down, put aside 1/3 Pot minus 1 cm and set points T, T1, and T2. Next, we connect them with a semicircle.

Skirt length. From points T, T1 and T2, set aside 25 cm and put points H, H1 and H2, WHICH WE ALSO CONNECT SEMI-CIRCLE.

Here are all the resulting patterns (here in the photo there are also patterns for slippers and hats):

And for the lining (made of thinner fabric)

I also sewed a hat and slippers for the costume. I did not make a master class of slippers, tk. understandable are also on the Internet. And the hat was sewn from 4 wedges (there are cutouts in the photo), the hat is three-layer: the main fabric, synthetic winterizer and lining.

I will not show you how I sewed all the details either. I do it not according to the rules of sewing, but as it is convenient for me, and my machine has become muddy, so some of the work had to be done manually.

I sewed everything, processed and decorated, and this is what happened in the end:

1. The whole set: dress, hat and dance3 shoes

Beanie decorated with frill, silver ribbon, tinsel and beads

Fleece: Felt: ORDER (delivery, cost and terms): http://www.odnoklassniki.ru/group/56855400742954/topic/62263878631466 SELF-DISPOSAL: Every New Year Santa Claus comes to us with his granddaughter - Snegurochka. If they don't even enter the house, then they will certainly appear on the TV screens. And then someone in the family or from friends will decide to dress up for the carnival in the costume of the Snow Maiden. He is to many of the fair sex to their liking. After all, a girl or even a mature lady, wearing a Snow Maiden costume, looks like a queen - so elegant and luxurious. Indeed, a well-executed outfit can make its mistress delightfully charming, downright charming. There are several varieties of the Snow Maiden's clothes. These are the following options: a Snow Maiden costume made of a long fur coat "to the floor" with a hat and fur trim; short sexy fur coat with a hat or kokoshnik with fur trim; a floor-length dress with lace inserts, transparent sleeves and a kokoshnik. Features of the Snow Maiden's masquerade dress The main elements in this dress are sequins, rhinestones, fur, lace. Often the Snow Maiden costume includes: high collars trimmed with beads, beads, pearls, rhinestones and lace; drapes with fur trim; mittens with embroidery and fur; couplings; transparent raincoats or long capes (for dresses). A drape for an outfit By the way, the ability to sew this little thing is useful not only for making the Snow Maiden's New Year's costume. A winter and demi-season coat with a cape looks great. And some styles of dresses suggest this detail, both made separately and sewn into the outfit. There are several options for sewing a cape. It can be made: a circular "sun", with a cut in the front and a neck; "Half sun", from a circle with a cut out segment; with oblique shoulder seams; completely repeating the shape of the shoulders with the arms down. Capes are made from various materials. Used for sewing lace, transparent materials, knitted jersey, fur, the main fabric of the outfit. When making a Snow Maiden costume for a girl, it is best to use a cape pattern with oblique shoulder seams. It is recommended to sew it from fur coat fabric and trim it with fur. Pattern for a cape If you wish, you can make a simply luxurious Snow Maiden costume with your own hands. The photo shows how great a very little girly looks in this elegant outfit. Probably, a drape plays a huge role in attire - a retro accessory that came to us from the past. Making a pattern with beveled shoulder seams is quite simple if you carefully consider the drawing. You need to make two patterns: for the front and back. The back half is cut out by folding the fabric in half and attaching the pattern with the vertical side to the fold of the material. The front consists of two parts. It is slightly wider than the back, since a few centimeters are given for the design of the fastener or hem. It should also be remembered that the front is always slightly wider than the back of the garment. Sewing mittens for the Snow Maiden's outfit Everyone remembers that, although it is warm in the festive room, it is winter outside. And the granddaughter of Santa Claus herself came to us from the northern city. Therefore, the Snow Maiden's New Year's costume is unthinkable without such an attribute as mittens. It is not difficult to make a pattern for mittens. You just need to put your palm with folded fingers on the paper and circle it along the contour. When cutting, you should remember about the seams and the fact that the palm was outlined without taking into account the volume of the hand. Therefore, you need to make about two centimeters of allowances along the entire contour. Cut out four parts. Two pieces are tailored to the surface and a pair is cut inside out. Sew the mittens by folding the patterns with the front sides inward. Then the blanks are turned inside out and turned off with fur. Making a hat for the Snow Maiden and Santa Claus The headdresses of both characters are sewn identically. The base of the hat is made of four "irons" - this is how the tailors jokingly call the type of this pattern. And it really resembles the sole of an ironing tool. The "iron" pattern is prepared according to the drawing, where the lower base of the part is equal to the fourth part of the head volume. The height of the figure is equal to half the size of the head, shot between the middle of the ears through the crown of the head. In addition to the base of the hat, you need to prepare a lapel - a strip for a fringe of arbitrary width and length equal to the volume of the head. You can take a measurement of the volume of the head by measuring the circumference of the head through the middle of the ears with a centimeter. Wide sleeves in the Snow Maiden's outfit Airiness, some ephemerality is given to this character by flying flowing fabrics and a lush cut of the dress. For example, the Snow Maiden costume, photo of which is presented here, has luxurious wide sleeves with a wavy edge trimmed with fur. This creates the effect of fabulousness - as if a huge outlandish bird flew to a holiday from a childhood fairy tale. These sleeves are not so difficult to cut out. It is enough to take a pattern of a regular sleeve and spread the seam lines to the sides as much as the width of the fabric allows. Any line of the edge can also be cut out. Only the hem of the uneven sleeves will now be more difficult than it is with a regular cut. You will need to use either an undercut or a bias tape. Fitted fur coat, length "to the floor" This is the most widespread costume of the Snow Maiden. The photo shows how elegant this character looks in an outfit that emphasizes the charm of a female figure. Such a fur coat is usually sewn from satin fabric. Lining silk will do as well. It is best to choose the color of the matter either white or blue. Although other shades of blue would be quite appropriate here. The pattern of the Snow Maiden's costume is based on the principle of a fitted long robe-dress. You can also use those clothes from the wardrobe that have been lying around for a long time unclaimed there. You will need to remove the part template from it. Most often, dressmakers simply rip up the old outfit at the seams, smooth out the details with an iron - here are the ready-made patterns for the outfit. Short fur coat, straight silhouette (cut) You can make a Snow Maiden costume for a girl without unstitching old dresses. In order to cut a short straight fur coat, you should build a simple pattern. This option is suitable for those who need to make a Snow Maiden costume with their own hands in an extremely short time. Of course, it is better for novice craftsmen to try to draw patterns on paper, then cut a thing out of old sheets, which it was decided to put on rags, sweep and try on - check the correctness of the pattern. Experienced tailors, on the other hand, can cut directly on the fabric. A rectangle is drawn with dry soap or chalk. Its length should be equal to twice the length of the product, as the shoulder seams will not be sewn. The line of the transverse fold of the pattern will fulfill their role. The width of the rectangle should be equal to the width of the fur coat. The front will need to be cut in half lengthways just to the center point (where the diagonals intersect). The neck is immediately formed. It is deeper in the front than in the back. The sleeves are also rectangular. The fold of the fabric goes along. Short fur coat, straight silhouette (sewing) It is recommended to first sew cut-out but not stitched sleeves to the main rectangle. The workpiece will resemble a cross or a helicopter (without a tail). After that, you can grind the side seams of the fur coat along with the seams in the sleeves. Finishing is done either with fur or with a white fleecy cloth. Sometimes it is also made from atlas. You can use pom-poms, tinsel, large fabric-trimmed buttons, a sash, or a wide belt. A sun-flared fur coat with a round yoke You can quickly sew such a Snow Maiden costume with your own hands. The photo demonstrates how smart, elegant and even luxurious it can turn out to be. For the yoke, cut out a circle with a radius equal to the height of the chest. The yoke has a slit in front. In the center of it, you need to make a neck of an arbitrary size. The lower part is also cut in the shape of a circle. Its radius is equal to the length of the product minus the radius of the yoke. In the middle of the pattern, a concentric circle is placed, the circumference of which is equal to the circumference of the body in the place where the yoke will be connected to the lower part of the outfit. You can calculate the radius of the inner circle using the formula: half the length of the body girth divided by 3.14. The yoke is trimmed with fur and embroidered. The skirt (lower part) is sewn from below to the yoke so that the upper part overlaps. Not an even hem, but a curly hem looks very beautiful. Sewn to the bottom of the robe, fluffy pom-poms made of fur look just great. The sleeves of this outfit can be of any style, at the request of the master. Kokoshnik for the Snow Maiden You can replace the hat with a beautiful kokoshnik. It is made of a variety of materials. The simplest is made of cardboard and decorated with sequins, tinsel, cotton wool, foil figures, beads. You can make a frame of a kokoshnik made of wire, pull white or blue lace on it and embroider it with silver threads, beads, tinsel. Nylon, chiffon or other transparent fabric will be appropriate here. Source 1.

New Year's costume pattern - construction

Draw rectangle ABCD. Suit length - rectangle line AD = BC = 65 cm (coat length by measure).

Suit width - rectangle lines AB and DС are equal to 40 cm (half-girth by measure plus 8 cm for all sizes): 32 + 8 = 40 cm.

Armhole depth: From point A downwards, lay 16.7 cm - point D (1/3 of the half-girth of the chest by measure plus 6 cm for all sizes): 32/3 + 6 = 16.7 cm.From point D to the right, draw a straight line to intersection with line ВС - intersection point Г1.

Waist line: From point A down, lay 28 cm (the length of the back to the waist according to the measurement) - point T. From point T to the right, draw a straight line to the intersection with the BC line, the point of intersection is T1.

Back width: GG1 split in half - point G4. To the right and left of the point G4, set aside 1/2 of the width of the armhole - put points G2 and G3. The width of the armhole is calculated by the formula: 1/4 of the half-girth of the chest by measure plus 2 cm for all sizes 32/4 + 2 = 10 cm. From points G2 and G3 draw straight lines up to the intersection with line AB - points P and P1.

Raising the shelf: From points B and P1, lengthen the lines upward by 2 cm, put points P2 and P3. Connect points P2 and P3.

Side line: From point G4 draw a straight line down to the intersection with the DC line. The point of intersection is the letter N. The intersection with the line TT1 is designated by the letter T2.

Auxiliary lines of the shoulder and armholes: Divide the PG2 line in half, Divide the PG3 into 3 equal parts.

Back pattern construction

Neckline: From point A to the right, set aside 5.2 cm (1/3 of the half-girth of the neck by measure plus 0.5 cm for all sizes): 14/3 + 0.5 = 5.2 cm.From point 5.2 set aside upward 1.5 cm. Connect points A and 1.5 with a concave line.

Inclination of the shoulder: From point P downward, set aside 1.5 cm.From point 1.5 (neck) through point 1.5 (shoulder slope) draw a shoulder line 11 cm long (shoulder length plus 1 cm for all sizes): 10 + 1 = 11 cm.

Armhole line: From point G2, dividing the angle in half, lay 2.5 cm. Draw the armhole line from point 11 through the midpoint of dividing the line PG2, point 2.5, to point G4.

Side seam: From point T2 to the right, set aside 2 cm. Draw the line of the side seam from point G4, 2, to the intersection with the DC line, set aside 1 cm upwards - point H1.

Advice! If you want to flare this gorgeous suit even more, set aside 3 cm from the T2 point to the right.

Building a front pattern

Neck cut: From point W to the left and down, set aside 5.7 cm (1/3 of the half-girth of the neck by measure plus 1 cm for all sizes): 14/3 + 1 = 5.7 cm.Concave points 5.7 with a concave line.

Shoulder slope: From point P2 down, lay 3 cm.

Shoulder line: Connect points 5,7 and 3. Then, from point 5.7 to the left along the outlined line, set aside 10 cm (shoulder length by measure).

Armhole line: From point Г3, dividing the angle in half, set aside 2 cm. Draw the armhole line from point 10, the lower division point П1Г3, point 2 and, touching the line ГГ1 to point Г4.

Side seam: From point T2 to the left, set aside 2 cm. Draw a line of the side seam from points G4 and 2 to the intersection with the DC line. From the point of intersection with the DC line, set aside 1 cm - point H2.

Bottom line: From point C, the BC line is extended downward by 2 cm - point H3. Connect points Н4 and Н2.

Buckle (side) increase. From the line of the middle of the front of the pattern, set aside 2 cm to the right and to the left. Draw a strip for the fastener 4 cm wide. To the right, add an increase for processing a strip 4 cm wide (one-piece).

Front and back yoke. Draw yokes on the front and back of the pattern as shown in Fig. 1. Cut the yokes and cut them out of white fur.

Sleeve pattern

Additionally, you need to build a New Year's costume for the girl.

Modeling the sleeve as shown in Fig. 2. Flare sleeve at the bottom. Cut off a strip at the bottom of the sleeve about 5 cm wide and cut out of white fur.

Collar pattern

Build a collar pattern as shown in the drawing Fig. 3.

We build a collar pattern - draw a rectangle ABCD. Collar length - rectangle lines АD and DC are equal to 19 cm (half-girth of the neck by measure plus 5 cm for all sizes): 14 + 5 = 19 cm.

Collar width - rectangle lines AD and DC are 11 cm. Fold line: From point D upwards, set 7 cm. Collar stitching line: From point B to the left, set aside 4 cm. Connect points 4 and 7 with a dotted line, divide the line in half and from the dividing point down set aside 1 cm. Draw the sewing line through points 7, 1, 4.

Departure line: Lay 6 cm down from point B. Connect points 4 and 6.

Lower collar line: Connect points D and 6 along the pattern. Round the corner of the collar along the pattern.

New Year's costume for a girl - hat pattern

Wrap a measuring tape around the baby's head and measure the circumference of the head - about 54 cm.

Build a hat pattern as shown in Fig. 4. The cap consists of 4 gussets and is trimmed with white fur on the bottom.

IMPORTANT! Before cutting the fur hat, cut out all 4 wedges with allowances from tracing paper, fasten them with threads and try on the child. If the height and volume of the hat fit - feel free to cut it! If necessary, make changes.

Clutch pattern

The clutch pattern is a rectangle. In order to measure the length and width of the rectangle, ask the girl to fold the handles so that only the fingers overlap. Measure the length of the handles from wrist to wrist (sleeve length). Wrap a measuring tape around your hands so that it wraps around your hands loosely - sleeve width. Cut out 2 identical rectangles - double sleeve, fur inside and outside.

A special New Year's Eve atmosphere consists of hundreds of little things! In the early days of winter, we begin to choose presents for our family and friends, dance to the sound of Christmas tunes, decorate apartments, classrooms and offices, prepare a wish list and dream of a successful next year. In addition, a series of parties and themed costumed events await us, and parents will have matinees in schools and preschool institutions. So, it's time to think about a festive costume!

The indispensable characters of the New Year are Santa Claus and his granddaughter, the beautiful Snow Maiden. Neither corporate events, nor matinees in houses of culture, nor performances in schools or kindergartens can do without them. The role of the winter beauty is often played by educators and teachers, mothers and aunts, who want to create a real fairy tale for children - and, of course, many girls want to dress up for a holiday in such a carnival costume.

By far the easiest option on the eve of the New Year is to buy or rent a suit. However, in rental studios it is not so easy to find an outfit of the right size, and dresses and kokoshniks that are sold in markets and in theme stores are not too pleasing for their uniformity. So why not make a Snow Maiden costume with your own hands, making a unique thing that fully meets your aesthetic tastes and ideas?

You don't have to buy a ready-made outfit - especially if you know how to sew!

And, believe me, there is nothing impossible in sewing such an outfit! Our tips and detailed patterns will help you create a dress and headpiece in just a couple of free evenings. The main thing is to stock up brocade or other dense fabric in blue and white, buy some white fur, arm yourself with scissors and a needle, and then let your fantasy fly free! Let's look at sewing an outfit using the example of a themed costume for a matinee.

How to make a Snow Maiden costume with your own hands?

List of materials and items required to make an outfit:

  • a cut of tulle (another light fabric is also suitable - for example, tulle, organza or georgette);
  • a piece of tracing paper for building a pattern (a piece of wallpaper);
  • a piece of brocade (can be replaced with another dense and elegant fabric - for example, taffeta or silk satin);
  • a piece of white faux fur (use silver tinsel as a substitute);
  • a piece of inlay (a narrow strip of fabric for trimming cut edges);
  • beads, rhinestones, sequins, beads, a piece of silver foil;
  • thick cardboard;
  • wire;
  • glue gun or glue;
  • scissors;
  • threads of blue and white;
  • pins;
  • buttons;
  • elastic;
  • pliers and pliers;
  • crayon or remnant;
  • blade;
  • needle.

Stage 1: We sew the Snow Maiden's outer dress

The upper part of the winter beauty's outfit has a luxurious finish, so you have to show your imagination here.

  • Step 1: Transfer the pattern of the upper part of the dress for the Snow Maiden to a dense fabric - for example, brocade or silk satin. Cut out the templates, leaving allowances for future seams (about 1 centimeter).
  • Step 2: Sew the seams that go over the shoulders and sides of the outfit. Overcast the rest of the fabric.
  • Step 3: Cut narrow stripes from a piece of lightweight white fur. It is best to do this from the inside out (so as not to break off the pile), marking the cutting line with a pencil. Use a sharp blade to run along the line - this is the best way to cut fur.
  • Step 4: Attach the prepared fur strips to the bottom of the outfit, turn them over to the wrong side and stitch.
  • Step 5: Take the cut pieces for the sleeves, fold in half so that the wrong side is on the outside, sew and sew to the outfit.
  • Step 6: Cut off the stripes from the piece of fur that will go to the hem of the sleeves. Sew on and stitch on the seams.
  • Step 7: Sew a large pearl, blue or white button to the neck of the outfit. The buttonhole is made in the form of a slit with serrated edges or in the form of a loop made of thin lace or a piece of fabric. In the same capacity, you can use a brooch with rhinestones.
  • Step 8. Print snowflakes with openwork edges of different sizes on a sheet of paper. Cut out the patterns, transfer to foil and attach to the outer dress. The rays and the central part of the snowflakes can be decorated with rhinestones, beads or beads, attaching them with glue or a glue gun.

Stage 2: We make a cape-cape

One of the simplest elements of the Snow Maiden's outfit is sewn according to the following principle:

  • Step 1: Transfer the details of the cape onto a piece of tracing paper or wallpaper. Cut out the templates, attach to the fabric, and then cut out the blanks, leaving one-centimeter seam allowances.
  • Step 2: Stitch around the edges of the neckline, leaving room for the elastic. Measure a piece of elastic, pull into the neckline, and then hem the top edge with a piece of tape. Try to match the color of the trim to the main color of the outfit.
  • Step 3: Cut the buttonholes, overcast the edges of the slots. Sew small silver, blue or mother-of-pearl buttons on the leg to the cape.
  • Step 4: Attach several foil snowflakes to the cape, decorate with beaded and sequin patterns, beads or rhinestones.

Stage 3: We sew the bottom dress of the Snow Maiden

The process of making a bottom dress consists of the following steps:

  • Step 1: Measure the girl's parameters and create a pattern on tracing paper, a piece of old wallpaper. You can simply print the above picture, having previously adjusted it to the desired dimensions. Cut out paper patterns.
  • Step 2: Attach the patterns to a piece of tulle or other lightweight fabric, transfer the patterns to the fabric, outlining the borders with a small piece of dry soap or a piece of dry soap. Remember to leave cm seam allowances. Cut out the blanks for the dress.
  • Step 3: Fasten the halves of the future outfit, connecting the front sides to the inside, go over one side with a stitch. Sew two more pieces using the same principle. Next, following this approach, connect paired parts and sew the sides. The top edge must be tucked in and the drawstring stitching done.
  • Step 4: Measure from the elastic a piece equal to the girth of the girl's chest, and insert it into the drawstring (top stitched edge).
  • Step 5: Make the straps by cutting out two strips of the same fabric. The dimensions of the stripes are 5 by 40 centimeters. Sew the straps together by joining the edges, then turn them right out. Iron to secure and stitch to dress.

Stage 4: Making the headdress

A hat can act as a headdress for the Snow Maiden (it is done very simply) or a luxurious kokoshnik in the style of a real winter princess. The process of creating a hat looks like this:

  • Step 1: Transfer the details of the cap from the wedges to tracing paper or wallpaper, cut out the patterns, attach with pins to the thick fabric. Cut out the fabric elements.
  • Step 2: Fold the wedges of the cap, sewing the wrong side out, sew one and the second pair of wedges, fasten both blanks together, fold so that the front is inside, and then sew. Turn the cap inside out and iron it.
  • Step 3: Cut a 12-13cm circle out of the fur piece, overcast and pull off the edge to create a round pompom. Attach the pom-pom to the top of the hat, sew a fur strip along the bottom edge. Decorate the hat with beads and sequins, repeating the pattern on the cape.
Step-by-step instructions for making the Snow Maiden's kokoshnik

Of course, a kokoshnik will look much more interesting than a hat with a pompom. With imagination, you can create a real design element - no worse than at the Dolce & Gabbana shows, which so often use this headpiece in collections. Instructions for making a kokoshnik:

  • Step 1: Cut a piece of wire. Measure the girl's head from the top to the ears. Bend the central part of the wire in a steep arc, make a bend around the edges with your hands, and then walk with the pliers. Secure the folds with clerical binders. Bend the edges of the wire so that you get a "visor" 5-6 centimeters wide. Focus on the girl's head to make the kokoshnik sit comfortably. Secure all folds with binders. If possible, the wire can be soldered, but it is easier to fasten all the parts by winding electrical tape or scotch tape - all the same, this will not be visible under the cardboard and decor.
  • Step 2: Measure out the cardboard pieces that will fill the voids in the wire frame. Cut out the cardboard and attach to the frame.
  • Step 3: Cut out a piece of light fabric (you can use a cut with patterns that resemble frosty patterns on the windows, or the same fabric as for the Snow Maiden's bottom dress). If the fabric is transparent and you can see the cardboard, glue the silver foil onto it first. Tighten the frame, gluing the joints well. Decorate the kokoshnik with New Year's beads, sequins, rhinestones or mother-of-pearl pearls.
  • Step 4: Measure out a piece of lightweight cloth (it should cover the back of the baby's head loosely, like a shower cap). Sew a thick elastic to the bottom of the fabric so that the edges of the fabric are pulled together. Attach the blank to the kokoshnik at the top.
  • Step 5: Make a bulky bow out of lightweight fabric, leaving long edges. Decorate the center with silver cloth. Attach the bow to the back of the kokoshnik.

Stage 5: Makeup Snow Maiden

Without the right "winter" make-up, the image of the Snow Maiden will be incomplete

An important part of the Snow Maiden's image is themed makeup. To create it you will need:

  • voluminous white mascara (you can use a base from two-phase mascara);
  • blue and silver pearlescent shadows;
  • transparent or pale pink lip gloss (glossy or with pearlescent particles);
  • pink blush with a light matte texture.

The makeup process is very simple:

  • Step 1: Apply a small amount of blue eyeshadow to the area around the eyes, just as you would normally on your eyeliner. The stripe should be wider on the upper eyelid.
  • Step 2: Apply silver eyeshadow to the upper lid and blend the border between it and the blue base.
  • Step 3: Cover the lashes with several coats of white mascara.
  • Step 4: Apply some blush to the cheeks and blend well.
  • Step 5: Apply a drop of gloss to the sponges.

Complete the look with beautiful shoes or boots - and the Snow Maiden's outfit is ready!

How to sew a Snegurochka costume with your own hands On the eve of the New Year holidays, the Snegurochka costume is popular and in demand among the fair sex of any age. The Snow Maiden costume is worn to congratulate children or as a carnival costume on New Year's Eve. There are a lot of varieties of this costume, the proposed classic version of the outfit can be left unchanged or slightly diversified by changing the shape of the sleeves and hem. This master class describes the process of creating a classic version of the Snow Maiden costume, where a long coat of a wide cut is cut. The set includes mittens and a headdress for the Snow Maiden look.
How to sew a Snow Maiden costume Creating a New Year's costume is a creative process, so you need to approach the selection of materials and accessories with imagination. But in any case, the outfit will require:

  • Beautiful fabric of a blue shade with a snowy pattern or one-color (in the classic version - blue, but possibly white, silver, beige, lilac, pink). It is better to find a fabric of bike quality with a ready-made embossed pattern, but if your choice fell on a plain fabric, then it will have to be decorated with high quality. It is better to select the quality of the fabric that is gentle, soft, but at the same time practical. For example, a bike will do. In total, you will need about 3 meters of a wide canvas (1.8-2 m wide), if the fabric is 1-1.5 meters, then it will take about 506 meters, but a wide canvas is easier to cut.
  • Artificial fur or any material with a pile, for example, velvet, white velveteen for finishing the hem, sleeves, that is, cuffs, and shelves.
  • Smooth lining, such as satin or a special thin lining fabric that will slide over your clothes when you put on a suit and will not wrinkle around the waist.
  • Elements for decoration - braid, beads, sequins, etc., which will add elegance, idleness to the appearance of the costume.
  • The zipper is about 1.5 meters long, we will sew it into the front shelves.
  • Sewing supplies such as thread, needles, scissors, tape measure, chalk and a sewing machine.
  • Paper for creating patterns. If you have little experience in sewing, then it is better to first make a pattern on a transparent carbon copy, but if you are an experienced craftswoman. Then you can cut out the fabric immediately, noting the desired parameters using a measuring tape.
  • The creation of a costume begins with taking measurements and creating a pattern. You will need parameters such as product length, chest circumference, waist circumference, hip circumference, sleeve length and width. Please note that the outfit should be a little loose, so all parameters require extra centimeters to be put on, with the exception of the length, here start from the growth of the girl who will act as the Snow Maiden. Young ladies need a shorter coat, ladies of an elegant age need a longer one. If you want to make the outfit more interesting, you can cut out the sleeves and hem, expanding downward and curly.
    The diagram shows that the main part of the cape looks like a trapezoid, which slightly widens downward. The front and back of the pattern are the same size, but the cut for the front of the suit is cut in the center to create the right and left cut shelves that connect. This cut will provide an even joint with the armhole and a free flare of the finished product. To come to the final result, you need to supplement the cut with a stand-up collar, but it is better to make it out of fur. Spread the fabric folded in half and mark the half sizes from the fold line. This is how the trapezoidal cut is formed, when you connect all the marked points with lines and cut out the part, it will turn out to be evenly expanding to the right and left of the center where the fold was. Cut and cut each element, do not forget to make an overlap of 1 cm in the armhole area to form the seams, otherwise this place will have to be taken from the base of the part and you will automatically narrow the suit. The product is assembled from the details of the back, shelves and set-in sleeves. First, the side and shoulder seams of the front and back shelves are sewn, then only the sleeves are sewn along the bottom line. After that, the sleeves are sewn to the main part of the outfit, and all seams, hem and shelves are overlocked. It is necessary to form the seams as evenly as possible, without gathering and tightening in any places. Do not forget to first match the shelves by throwing, try on a coat, if necessary, "adjust" the details and seams, and only then fix all the components with the final seams. Trying on a suit, do not get carried away by narrowing it, this is a kind of cape for clothes, not a tight dress.
    Now we start connecting the front shelves with a zipper. The lock is sewn in smoothly and neatly, first it is better to sweep the zipper, and then go through the sewing seam.
    Do not pull on the edge of the shelf when working on the sewing machine, otherwise gathers will be created around the edge of the lock.
    The next step in creating the Snow Maiden New Year's costume is fur trimming. Strips of fur can be cut out wide or narrow if desired. In this case, be sure to take into account the direction of the pile. Fur trim is sewn along the hem, collar, sleeves and shelves. Also, make a stand on the collar out of white fabric so that in a Snow Maiden costume you do not have to wear a scarf during your holiday street walks.
    The most creative stage of working on a costume is decoration. The outfit can be decorated with appliques, lace, beads, beads or sequins. If your fabric did not have decorative snowflakes and patterns, then begin to separately create these elements and sew them all over the costume.
    How to sew a hat and mittens for the "Snow Maiden" costume To make the image of Granddaughter of Santa Claus complete, the outfit should be supplemented with a hat and mittens. These parts are sewn from the same fabric as the fur coat. For the Snow Maiden's mittens, you will additionally need a lining fabric. The easiest way to draw a pattern is by tracing the palm and wrist. In total, you need to cut out 4 elements from the main fabric and 4 from the lining. To make the mittens look neat, first, a lining is sewn to the main parts along the bottom of the mittens (the parts are placed face to face), then, after turning out, 4 parts of one mitten are sewn together. It is advisable to sew an elastic band in the wrist area of the mittens - then they will not fall off. You can decorate mittens with fur, appliques and other decor.
    It is best to sew a hat from four gussets or from a solid strip of fabric. In the second case, 4 darts should be stitched so that the cap tapers upwards.
    A fur trim is sewn on the bottom of the headdress, and on top the cap is decorated with a pompom. Alternative options for the Snow Maiden's headdress are a kokoshnik or a ribbon, decorated with the same decorative elements as the fur coat.
    The simplest kokoshnik can be made of cardboard and decorated with foil, sparkles, tinsel, etc. But it will be much more beautiful to get a product made of a wire frame, covered with a thin fabric - chiffon, nylon, lace. You can embroider such a kokoshnik with silver threads, beads, beads. The final detail of the Snow Maiden's New Year's outfit is shoes. Matching boots, best light colored, can be picked up from your everyday wardrobe and decorated with matching decorative elements. If there are no light-colored boots, then take any and decorate them with snowflakes, pre-wrap the shoes with a synthetic winterizer.
    The wonderful costume of the Snow Maiden is sewn by hand. It took more than one evening to create it, but the costume can be used from year to year, because the fashion for the carnival image of the Snow Maiden practically does not change.
