DIY lambrequins. How to sew a lambrequin. Sewing simple curtains and lambrequins with your own hands

Of course, curtains and a lambrequin are the hallmark of every living room. Today we will consider popular patterns for sewing beautiful lambrequins with our own hands!

When entering this room, the gaze falls precisely on the window, since it, as a rule, is the only bright place in the house.

Today, there is a huge variety of decorative curtains and window décor elements.

Tulles are amazing with their splendor. And the lambrequin is one of the irreplaceable decorations of the window opening.

In the 19th century, they decorated not only living rooms and bedrooms, but also the space above the beds. Indeed, before, lambrequins were very pretentious.

Now they have completely different textures and shapes. If you want to change the decor in an apartment or in a house, then lambrequins are just right for this.

What accessories for curtains and tulle have not been invented: from fringe to ruffle. Window decoration has survived to this day and has become almost traditional. Now you rarely find houses without lambrequins and curtains. They give not only grace, but also solemnity on special occasions.

Lambrequin is usually called a decorative element; it is located in the upper part of the curtain throughout its entire length and the width of the cornice. Lambrequins can decorate the opening of any room.

The material from which this decorative element is made can be absolutely diverse. Both light and airy, and very heavy, pleated. For example, using openwork fabrics is a difficult task and it is better not to do this.

Lambrequin should decorate not only the interior, but also hide the cornice and visually increase the height of the window. If the decorations are fixed higher with a lambrequin, it is likely that the window will seem much larger than the original one.

Swag.

Swag is one of the varieties of lambrequins; it is a classic decoration. It can be seen folded or hanging freely. The swag is decorated not only with tassels, but also with fringes. The classic swag is the most popular.

On the Internet, you can find swag patterns for a lambrequin.

In this article, there are numerous photos in which you can see all the splendor of the lambrequin variety.

Do-it-yourself lambrequin pattern is absolutely free.

One of the varieties of lambrequins is a lambrequin - svag, as mentioned above.

This article will talk about patterns of a swag in a shape called a swing.

You will need:
  • paper
  • pencil
  • centimeter
  • ruler
  • drapery fabric
  • lining fabric
  • linen ribbon
  • board
  • stapler.

Build your pattern on a piece of paper. Draw a vertical straight line, mark three points: A, B, C. A should be exactly in the middle of segment BC. From point A, draw a straight line down at a 90 ° angle. Set point B, segment AB should be equal to the length of your future lambrequin. Make an arc through point B, from segment BC from point C draw a segment to connect to another point B.

From point B, draw a line to connect to the arc of point B. You end up with one piece. You make such parts in the amount of 4 pieces. Cut out a swag. Build folds. You should have one backing piece and four cascade pieces. Sew all the details together along a logical chain. Fasten the lambrequin using a mounting board.

Your pelmet is ready!

- this is a soft, decorative "cornice" in the form of trims, frills, which are placed in front of the curtain or tulle, hiding its upper part and softly framing the curtain or curtain. This is a way to decorate the top of a window. Lambrequins are straight or a certain form, a braid or fringe is sewn to the bottom. Lambrequin is an important part of window decoration. It successfully hides the sagging edge of a curtain or curtain or an ugly cornice. By fixing the lambrequin higher than usual, you will visually lengthen the window; with a wide lambrequin, the window will appear wider.

- Lambrequin can consist of one, two or three sections.
- The width of the section depends on the length of the eaves. Each section of the lambrequin has a smooth section in the middle (1/3 of the width of the part) and on both sides of it - gathered sections (1/3 of the width of the part).

Calculation of the width of the lambrequin.

- If the lambrequin consists of only one section, then its width will be equal to the length of the cornice.
- For a lambrequin of two sections, one of which overlaps the other by 1/3, the width of the section is calculated as follows: each section consists of 3/3 = 6/3 in total; subtract 1/3 from them, by which one section overlaps the other = 5/3.
Measure the length of the cornice, divide it by 5 = 1/3 of the section width. This value must be multiplied again by 3 = the width of one section of the lambrequin.
- For a three-section lambrequin, where each section overlaps by 1/3: 9/3 minus 2/3 (overlapping) = 7/3. Curtain rod length divided by 7 and multiplied by 3 = width of one section.

Drawing up a pattern for a lambrequin section.

- To make a pattern for a lambrequin section, pin a large sheet of paper to the wall, draw a horizontal line with a length equal to the calculated width of the section (lines 1-2 in the drawing), and using a hanging cord fixed at points 1 and 2, draw the shape of the lambrequin section (dashed line in the drawing).
- Transfer this form to a sheet of paper. From the middle point of the width of the section (3), draw a vertical line down and mark on it:
section height (4) = intersection point of dotted line and vertical
the height of the paper pattern (4a) = the height of the section plus the desired allowances (depending on the density of the fabric, they are 50 - 80% of the width of the section, more for thin fabrics and less for dense ones).
- Draw the lower edge of the part of the paper pattern with a compass: center at point 3, draw an arc through point 4a, see drawing.
- Transfer 1/2 of the length of the lower edge of the lambrequin section (1-4) to the circle line from point 4a, we get point 1a. Point 2a is defined in the same way.
- Divide the section width into three parts - see points 5 and 6 = smooth section. Now connect points 1a and 5, 2a and 6 with straight lines - in these areas we will then tighten the fabric.
- To avoid too tight drapery on both sides, on the lower edge of the pattern on the right and left, in areas equal to 1/3 of the length of the lower edge, slightly hide, see drawing.
Connect points 5 and 6 with a slightly rounded line. Cut the resulting part.

Open it.

- The fabric is cut at a 45 degree angle.
- We cut out three identical parts with a seam allowance of 2 cm.

Work description.

- On the rounded edge of each section, make a double hem 1 cm wide.
- It is better to insert a special flexible metal tape into the hem. Fasten the ends.
- Fold the three parts, wrong sides up. The middle section is under the two side sections (fig. Left).

- Stitch along the top edge with a 1 cm seam allowance.
- Press the top of the part obtained on the wrong side to a width of 2 cm.
- From the inside of the lambrequin, at a distance of 1 cm from the top edge, sew on the curtain tape on both sides.
- Pull the threads of the tape so that only 1/3 of the width of each section is pulled together on the right and left, and the middle third remains smooth
- Hang the Lambrequin and fix it on the cornice with clamps at the beginning, end and between the sections.

The simplest lambrequin. (with ponytails)

Such draped lambrequins are good for windows that do not need curtains, but which you still want to somehow decorate.

You will need:

1. Main fabric.
2. Lining fabric (if needed)
3. Gasket (if necessary) - non-woven, etc.
4. Cornice or plank for a lambrequin, 5x2 cm in size, of the required length
5. Decorative cord - approximately 1 m
6.50 cm tape.
7. Soft pencil.
8. Furniture nails, hammer or stapler.
9. Drill, screwdriver, screws.

Operating procedure:

1. Attach a lambrequin strip or cornice to the wall above the window. It should be located approximately 10 cm above the window frame and so that its ends protrude from the window by approximately 10-15 cm. Cut the required amount of fabric. In order for the drapery to sag by 50 cm, a fabric 70 cm wide is needed. The length of the fabric is determined by the length of the cornice plus 10 cm plus two lengths of the side “tails”. If this length is less than 140 cm, cut the desired piece from the fabric 70 cm wide. If not, cut and sew two pieces together. Please note that the seam allowance should be 1.5 cm for each edge.

If you need to join two widths of fabric, then do it so that the seam is not in the middle. Better to attach small pieces of fabric to the side of the main piece.

If desired, cut the lining and / or padding fabric to the same size as the base fabric. The lining will make the lambrequin more voluminous, its contours and folds softer. However, lining is optional.

If you do decide to use a liner, then lay the cut liner, flatten it, then place the base fabric face up on top, and the liner on it, face down. Pin all fabrics together.

2. Sew all fabrics with a typewriter, 1.5 cm from the edge, leaving 30 cm unstitched at the top edge. Remove the pins, make light cross cuts in the corners. Turn the fabric inside out and iron, making sure the backing fabric is not visible from the front. Sew open the hole by hand.

Mark the middle of the top of the plank and the middle of the lambrequin. Using a stapler with staples, attach the middle of the lambrequin to the center of the upper part of the plank. Then attach all of the fabric to the placket. The ends of the fabric should hang loosely around the edges of the placket.

3. Tie the hanging ends of the lambrequin with a decorative cord. Consumption of approximately 50 cm of cord per side. Tie the cord with a large bow, straighten the folds.

If you have enough experience, then the next lambrequin looks more beautiful.

Lambrequin - consisting of one swag plus curtains-garlands on the sides.

To correctly sew such a lambrequin, a certain skill is required. Indeed, in order for the lambrequin to look harmonious, it is necessary to determine the number of sagging garlands so that they look beautiful with a curtain, carefully cut and sew.

To do this, you will need:

- the cloth
- curtain tape
- eaves board, best of all, covered with fabric.

measure the width of your curtain rod. Plus seam allowances. Decide how long the lambrequin will be, and increase this size by two and a half times (do not forget the allowances!). Solve the number of folds on the lambrequin. Buy a curtain tape - this makes it easier to fold. The choice of braid depends on what kind of folds you are going to make - small, medium or large. Draw a blueprint.

The dotted line is the fold line. To make the folds lie better, you can cut out the lambrequin obliquely: fold the fabric diagonally and attach the pattern to this diagonal with a dotted line. However, in this case you will need more material ...

Taking into account the length of the curtain tape in the assembled state, calculate the width of the middle, not draped part. What I mean: the drapery consists of three parts - the drapery itself on both sides and the middle part between the beginning and the end of the first fold. Knowing the length of the cornice, you subtract the finished length of the drapery tape from it (twice! - two sides). The remainder is Side A.

Cut out a piece of the swagi. Hem, stitch. Sew a curtain tape to the straight side edges of the lambrequin. Gather the tape, form folds. Line up the draped and non-draped parts straight, and attach them to the cornice of the upper part with small studs.

The svaga can also be fixed on the front of the cornice, but in this case you will need to “mask” it with a curly baguette.

Form folds already in the fixed state.

Cascade curtains or chill molds (ties), the eternal companions of the swag, are also easy to sew. For these, you decide the required height and width. Increase the width by two and a half times. Cut out a figure from the fabric according to the pattern

Then process the edges. Sew a curtain tape along the top edge. Assemble the tape according to the instructions. Press the top of the folds to the desired side. Attach to the cornice before you attach the swag to it.

Such a curtain-cascade, as in the picture, can be made without a curtain tape. The pattern is the same, but you form the folds with your hands, so that you get a drapery from the picture, that is, one on top of the other.

Manual way of laying the drapery.

This method requires a measuring stand or a thick sheet of packaging cardboard of the required size.

We put on the measuring stand the previously cut pattern from the fabric, observing the middle and beginning of the model's shoulders, without stretching or setting the middle of the part.

The formation of the first fold begins from the starting point of the right shoulder of the part, lowering the so-called "roll" of the fold down from the line of the cornice by 10 - 15 cm. This value depends on the depth of the model.

Likewise, observing the depth of the fold (approximately 8-10 cm), it is laid at the starting point of the left shoulder.

We fix the first fold, like all subsequent ones, be sure to use 2-3 pins, so that we do not warp with further laying.

Since the calculations of the shoulder were made, we know the distance between the folds along the line of the cornice (see the advice "Calculations of the shoulder of the lambrequin"). We set this distance along a ruler with chalk or a disappearing felt-tip pen. It is very important to observe this value down to a millimeter, since the difference in the distance between the folds can lead to a skew of the entire model as a whole.

Each subsequent fold is formed in the same way. The same amount of sag between the folds and the distance between the folds along the cornice line are strictly observed.

The depth of each next fold increases by 3 - 5 cm. This value depends on the drape of the fabric and the length of the model. The stiffer the fabric, the deeper the tuck solution.

After laying all the necessary folds, the most correctly and beautifully laid shoulder of the part is selected, and the darts formed after laying and cutting are mirrored from one side of the model to the other.

Then the selected shoulder of the model is pinned (very often, after 1.5 - 2 cm) with pins along the line of the cornice. If the model is asymmetric, then both arms of the model are pinned and drawn.

With chalk or a disappearing felt-tip pen, draw a line of the cornice with a processing allowance of 1.5 - 2 cm along the line of the middle and shoulder of the model.

With chalk, a disappearing felt-tip pen or pins, mark the bottom line of the model's sag (along the selected half).

The pattern stabbed and marked to the middle is removed from the measuring board. Without stretching the fabric, the model's shoulder that is not drawn is also split.

On the cutting table, departing from the outlined line of the cornice 1-2 cm, cut off the excess fabric allowance for laying. Thus, a line for processing the part along the cornice is obtained.

By splitting the shoulder of the part, we get the depth of each fold (dart solution).

For the most accurate and correct laying, it is necessary to mirror the mortar of the darts from one half of the part to the other. To do this, fold the pattern exactly in half and cut out the solution of the darts. Then the drawn lines of the cornice are transferred.

Align the piece folded in half along the lower sag line of the model, observing processing allowances of 1 - 1.5 cm.

A piece with worn out shoulders and a lower line of sag is laid on a fitting stand to check all sizes.

The lower cut of the model is processed with a double seam seam, a seam "American" ("Moscow seam"), or the whole part is duplicated with a lining.
In the “cross-over” model, the upper sag of the part is processed in the same way.

As a rule, the upper seam allowance along the cornice line is processed with Velcro or mounting tape, the so-called "belt".

Examples of a combination of lambrequins and curtains.

- a very important detail in sewing curtains. Many people believe that classic curtains should definitely include this element. Lambrequins make the window decoration complete, even the simplest nondescript curtains acquire a touch of chic and sophistication in combination with a thoughtful and neat lambrequin.

What are lambrequins

In addition to the decorative function, lambrequins also have functional benefits. With the help of lambrequins, you can hide the nuances of attaching curtains and curtains, which is another reason to use lambrequins in your home.

There are the following types of lambrequins:

  • A simple lambrequin in general is a straight piece of fabric. Creases, curly trimming of the edge and decorative elements are allowed.
  • Soft lambrequins, on the other hand, are filled with various decorative elements. Here you can find swagi, dejabo, perekidy, bell ties, etc. The main condition is the choice of fabric: soft, light and flowing texture.
  • A hard lambrequin looks like a window cover. A rigid lambrequin is made of dense fabric treated with special substances to maintain durability.
  • The combined lambrequin combines the elements of the listed types. Well-chosen pieces can create a unique and original ensemble.

When choosing, pay attention not only to the appearance of the lambrequin, but also to the color and texture of the fabric. Lambrequins, curtains and all other elements of room decor should create a single atmosphere, have a common stylistic tonality.

How to sew curtains with lambrequins: options and rules

To sew a lambrequin yourself, first you should familiarize yourself with some of the nuances regarding the choice of what kind of lambrequin to sew.

To correctly choose a lambrequin, remember:

  • Lambrequins can harm the overall appearance of the room if your house has low ceilings. Think carefully about the lambrequin style for such a room, because it will look ridiculous to assemble a voluminous and bulky lambrequin here.
  • No matter how large the distance from the ceiling to the beginning of the window, remember that the lambrequin should cover all this space and even go down a little lower.
  • Richly decorated lambrequins are very beautiful if the curtains hang in a spacious, bright room. But for modest spaces, choose modest decorations.
  • When making a lambrequin, it is advised to abandon hard fabrics. The drapery should be light and flowing.
  • When choosing fabric for lambrequins with a pattern, embroidery or pattern, try not to overdo it with accents in the window decoration: curtains with such lambrequins should be monochromatic in a calm shade.
  • Remember that the density of the curtain fabric depends on the light in the room. If the windows face the non-sunny side, then use light fabrics of light shades for sewing lambrequins.

If space allows your imagination to roam, then think about how you can arrange swags, folds, ties and other decorative elements to create a stunning lambrequin!

A beautiful lambrequin can transform your window beyond recognition. Thanks to him, a cozy atmosphere appears in the room, where every detail is in its place. Sophisticated multi-layered fabric constructions are always an eye-catcher.

Modern decorative elements allow you to create a real masterpiece, which in the future will become the main focus in the interior space. Our material provides detailed instructions for sewing lambrequins with your own hands. All the subtleties of the workflow are presented here.

How to choose the right model?

To date, several types of designs are known, which differ in the complexity of sewing. Before starting the workflow, it is recommended that you choose the right model that can decorate your window.

Modern designs of decorative curtains are divided into several types:

Simple lambrequin. It is a combination of simple straight and wavy elements. You can create the necessary drapery with your hands or with a special curtain tape.

Hard lambrequin. It is sewn from heavy curtain fabric. The required rigidity is achieved by laying doublerin or non-woven fabric.

Next, the front side of the lambrequin is ironed with a warm iron. The effect of temperature ensures that the inner material is tightly fixed to the curtain. Decorative materials will add a peculiar flavor to the finished composition. A cord made of crystal beads or fringes is perfect for this.

Soft lambrequin. It consists of airy fabrics such as organza, veil, batting or silk. The soft texture provides graceful curves for the fabric. The model usually consists of simple elements: a swag (hanging loop) and a tie (side element).

Openwork lambrequin. Its manufacturing technology bears some resemblance to the hard one. You can create an openwork drawing using templates. To do this, smooth lines are drawn on the surface of the fabric with a pencil. Then they are cut out with a sharp clerical knife. You can fix the finished lambrequin with a special curtain tape, which is fixed on the back.

Combined model. It contains both complex openwork details and light elements. Such designs are capable of performing by real professionals in their field.

If you have decided on the choice of a model, then the next step will be sewing decorative curtains.

Simple lambrequin scheme

To begin with, it is recommended to try your hand at making a more simplified model. This process requires special care and perseverance. The main thing in this matter is to choose the right option correctly. The pattern of the lambrequin should correspond to the size of the window opening.

Before you start sewing, you need to make the correct calculation of the fabric footage. It includes:

  • the width of the finished canvas. 3 cm is added to the height for allowances and for processing seams;
  • product length. To make a simple lambrequin, you will need an average of 3 m of fabric. This will make the waves smoother.

After that, you can proceed to the pattern of each part. For sewing a swag (wave), you will need a wide strip of material. Further, marks are made on it for further drapery. They are neatly fixed with small stitches. The edges of the fabric are stitched with a special machine.

When all the waves are at the same level, they are fixed on a curtain tape. After the swag is fixed, you can move on to the tie (side piece). The pattern is a large triangle. The side pieces are neatly fastened in the very center. The result is a smooth transition.

The tie can be made one-sided or double-sided. It all depends on your desire. A multi-layered composition requires compliance with all proportions.

The next step will be the assembly of all parts into a finished structure. A swag and several ties are placed on the curtain tape. This lambrequin is designed for a 2 m window opening.

When all the details are in one place. They are fixed together with the main machine stitching. The lower edge of the lambrequin can be supplemented with a decorative cord. Beautiful beads will complement the simplest model.

Sewing a hard lambrequin

Sewing a rigid model is quite simple. For this, the exact dimensions of the window space must be observed. To make it, you will need an average of 3 m of jacquard or satin. The fabric should have a dense texture.

When cutting, it is important to observe the direction of the shared thread and decorative pattern. All parts should have a slight allowance. This will allow you to neatly sew all the pieces together.

Dublerin will help to add rigidity. In the process of cutting individual elements, it is recommended to strengthen each part with an adhesive material. It is fixed with a hot iron.

Further, all parts are sewn together on a curtain tape. On its back there are several sections for hooks. The lower cut of the lambrequin is processed with decorative braid or oblique inlay. This will add a touch of luxury to the interior space.

A well-done work will become a real decoration of your home. The photo of lambrequins shows the best models that can become a highlight of the interior space.

Diy lambrequin photo

The beautiful French word "lambrequin" is a fabric drapery placed horizontally in the window opening at the top of the curtain composition. Do-it-yourself lambrequins not only decorate the window opening, but also give the curtain design you have conceived a finished look. Below is a master class on how to sew pleated lambrequins, with ruffles and from strips of fabric.

Lambrequin with folds: step by step instructions

Curtains decorated with a lambrequin, gathered in folds with the help of a curtain tape, on a lining look attractive.

Before you sew a lambrequin with your own hands, prepare:

  • lining fabric;
  • finishing fabric;
  • Velcro tape;
  • paper template;
  • cornice in the form of a rod;
  • curtain rings;
  • curtain hooks;
  • braid.

Sewing a lambrequin with your own hands begins with cutting. Having mounted the cornice above the window, measure the width of the window and add 10-15 cm to it for allowances on each side.

To build a pattern, you need to cut a strip of paper the same width as the lambrequin and a length equal to 76 of the curtain length.

The length of the lambrequin, not gathered in folds, should exceed the length of the cornice by 1.5-3 times, plus 6 cm for the hem. Cuts of fabric are cut and joined. The lining is cut out with a length equal to the length of the canvas. The width of the lining should be 4.5 cm less than the width of the lambrequin.

Look at the photo - to sew a lambrequin with your own hands, the long edge of the lining is sewn right side inward to the lower edge of the main fabric:

The non-sewn edge of the lining is folded 1.5 cm below the top edge of the main fabric. The sides are cleaved with pins and sewn together. The lambrequin is turned onto the front side and ironed on.

The next stage of the lambrequin sewing master class is to smooth out a 1.5 cm hem on the upper edge of the main fabric. The braid is applied to the upper edge with an indent of 3 mm. The allowance at the edges of the tape should be 2 cm.

The braid is secured with pins, the ends are bent, then sewn on. The cords at one end of the braid are tied in a knot and pulled together on the other side so that folds are formed along the length of the cornice. The cords are fixed, hooks are inserted into the braid and the lambrequin is hung on the cornice.

Sewing a lambrequin with ruffles: a master class with video

Now check out the DIY ruffle lambrequin workshop.

Lambrequin with ruffles is able to decorate any, even the simplest, single-colored veil curtain. It consists of two panels of different colors, one of which will act as a lambrequin, and the second - a decorative "tie".

Despite the seeming complexity, sewing such a lambrequin is extremely simple, and even a novice seamstress can handle it. The width of the lambrequin, which will be discussed below, corresponds to the length of the cornice - 1.8 m. Fastening to the cornice - using eyelets.

For work you will need:

  • a veil of yellow and white color with a length corresponding to the length of the cornice, taking into account the volume of the folds. In this case, the length of the yellow veil will be 4.04 m, and the width - 0.45 m. The length of the white veil will be 2.02 m with a width of 0.9-1 m, depending on the selected height of this part;
  • bias inlay 1.5-2 m long;
  • eyelets (11 pcs.).

Two patterns are built on paper: for a yellow veil a rectangle measuring 4.04 X 0.45 m, and for a white one - a polygon with sides 2.02 x 0.9 (1.0) x 0.45 m. The patterns are transferred to the fabric, and then the parts are cut out.

The next step in the step-by-step instructions for making a lambrequin with your own hands is finishing the parts along the edge with an oblique inlay. In this case, the upper cut is not processed.

The veil of yellow and white on a flat surface is folded right sides up.

The upper sections are aligned so that the white veil is on the side of the yellow veil. Details are sewn along the top edge.

The upper edge of the lambrequin is processed with an overlock or a zigzag stitch on a conventional sewing machine. Then the upper edge is folded 5 cm to the wrong side and sewn.

The product is ironed, then the markings for the eyelets are made on it. To do this, the eyelets are laid out on the fabric at a distance of 1 cm from the top edge and 40 cm from one another.

The inner circumference of each eyelet is outlined with a pencil, and holes are cut into the fabric into which the eyelets snap into place.

The bias tape is folded in half lengthwise and sewn. 11 blanks for ties should be cut from it, which will support the lambrequin. Their length should be determined based on the actual proportions of the window.

To prevent shedding of the fabric, the ends of the strings must be singed over the candle.

Sections of the bias tape are passed through the eyelets and tied with a free loop on the cornice.

The loops must be made the same in length. The folds are straightened so that there is the same distance between them.

How to sew a pelmet from strips of fabric

This section is devoted to making a lambrequin from strips of fabric by beginners with their own hands.

Making a lambrequin from strips of fabric of different lengths, but the same width, is a rather laborious process. The length of the finished lambrequin is 2 m, 18 strips will be used for its manufacture.

You can sew a lambrequin from the remnants of fabric and even from the scraps that you left after sewing other curtains or curtains. The width of the strips should correspond to the length of the cornice - in the proposed example, 2 m. The length is multiplied by the assembly factor from 1.5 to 2. The resulting length must be divided by 18, thus obtaining the width of one strip, which in this example will be 22.2 cm.

The width can be increased, but in any case, all errors will be corrected only after the curtain tape is sewn and the lambrequin is tightened to the required length.

The length of the stripes is different. In our example, the outer stripes are 1 m long, and then it gradually decreases, and each next stripe is 10 cm shorter than the previous one.

For work you will need:

  • white veil 8.4 m long and 22.2 cm wide;
  • yellow veil 6.4 m long and 22.2 cm wide;
  • curtain tape.

You can choose between two options for processing the edges of the stripes - either with a bias tape or with a hem seam.

Hem sewing involves adding allowances for cutting along the bottom edge and sides of the strips when cutting.

After processing the edges, the strips need to be expanded in accordance with the scheme and sewn together by means of a curtain tape, which is sewn to their upper part. The curtain tape is tightened to the required length.

Lambrequin is hung on the cornice. The stripes are connected to each other.
