How to wrap gifts in gift paper: step by step instructions and video. Wrapping a gift in wrapping paper

Giving gifts is just as pleasant as receiving them, but in addition to the prepared surprise, packaging is also important, which will give it a complete and presentable look. But in order to understand how best to pack a gift in gift paper, you should study several features and options for this procedure in order to choose the most optimal one for yourself.

Paper selection

The most common way to decorate a gift is gift paper.

It comes in several types, each of which has its own differences:

  • Sheet glossy paper. In this case, the paper can be of various colors, both monophonic and multi-colored. The density of the sheets is minimal, which allows them to be used in various interesting wrapping options.

Most often, this type of paper is used for packing boxes in the shape of a square and a rectangle.

  • Kraft. It is characterized by increased wear resistance and density. The kraft paper is much rougher to the touch than the previous version and has a ribbed surface with a cross section.

Great for gifts in retro or Provence style, as well as large sizes. Such packaging requires additional decoration on top.

  • Silence. This type of packaging is papyrus paper. Its thin airy structure allows you to give a gift an elegant and elegant look.

Tissue is also used as a filler in a gift box. It is convenient to wrap objects of complex geometric shapes in this paper, which gives them additional volume.

  • Polysilk. It is a stretch film on which a metallic shade is applied. Happens only in one-color option.

It is used for wrapping objects with sharp corners, as well as toys. In this case, the gift is placed in the middle of the packing list, and the edges rise up and are decorated with a bow made of the same material.

  • Corrugated paper. Large embossed material is used for gift wrapping. Often this look is complemented by polysilk bows, which gives the package a sophisticated look.

You can wrap any objects in such paper: boxes, bottles, tubes.

  • Mulbury. Designer look of crumpled paper. Available in various colors, and in some cases has an ornament or pattern.

It is used as a wrapper for objects of any shape. If necessary, the gift is complemented by a small decor on top.

Choice of colors

How to pack a gift in gift paper, as well as give it sophistication and presentability, will help to study the features of using different shades of material.

The packaging and the item inside must be in harmony with each other., as the mismatch of colors can spoil the overall impression of the surprise.

Primary colors:

  • Yellow. Solar color, reminiscent of a ray of sunshine. A gift wrapper made in this tone gives a warm and cozy shade. Ideal for giving a surprise a childish spontaneity and playfulness. It is not recommended to mix with other colors. But you can add purple, brown, blue or green decor on top.
  • Orange. A shade that personifies violent positive emotions, as well as setting up admiration. But at the same time, it is important not to overdo it, since it is this color that can both decorate a gift and spoil it. It is ideal to combine an orange wrap with green, yellow, brown, purple, blue and red.

  • Pink. Great for gifts for women, as it evokes touching and joyful emotions. It is best to combine it with all shades of red and purple, and an additional decor of a white shade will help to effectively emphasize the tone.
  • Violet. This option is ideal for a mysterious and extraordinary gift, as it symbolizes secrecy, mystery and fantasy. It is best to combine this tone with white, silver, yellow and pink for gift wrapping.
  • Red. This tone of packaging means fiery feelings and passion, and sometimes symbolizes irritation and anger. Therefore, giving preference to this color for gift wrapping, you should weigh everything if we are not talking about surprises for the New Year, since red is very relevant for this holiday.

It is ideal to combine red packaging with silver, gold, white, pink and gray tones.

  • Blue. It is recommended to use this tone for wrapping a gift for a man, as it is associated with success, nobility, fidelity. The dark blue color harmonizes perfectly with blue, silver, white, yellow, and for lighter tones it is recommended to select pale shades of yellow and pink.
  • White. This tone is universal, as it can be combined with any bright color. But you should not give preference to it as the main color for packaging, as it is cold and therefore the impression of the gift will be the same. It is best used for contrast, using details in this shade, which will give the surprise a sense of celebration.
  • Green. It is considered a neutral shade, which is appropriate in any case. The variety of tones of this color allows you to choose the right option for packaging. Green tone symbolizes wealth and respect. Dark shades are recommended to be combined with yellow, orange, white and gold, and light colors - with brown, gray, yellow.

  • Grey. Used to wrap a gift that symbolizes nobility and restraint. And to give sophistication, you should combine it with red, pink and purple hues.
  • Brown and black. These tones are rarely used, although they are recommended for a formal gift. But in order to dilute the tone, it is recommended to complement the wrapper with details in silver, purple or gold.
  • Silver, steel and gold. It is best to use these colors as a complement to the main color. But at the same time, it should be borne in mind that steel and silver are cold tones, and therefore they should set off the packaging made in the same palette.

But it is better to decorate a gift made in warm colors with details in gold tone. In addition, these colors are successfully combined with white and black.

In the case of choosing multi-colored gift paper, the details should be made from the tone present in the package, but not dominant.

This will unobtrusively emphasize the gift and give it a sophisticated look.

Standard size box packaging

How to pack a gift in gift paper of a standard size: compliance with certain rules for the procedure will help. For the first time, you should practice on the newspaper, and after working out the procedure, use the prepared material.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Measure the required amount of paper. To do this, place the box in the center face down and leave a few centimeters of paper on the sides so that it is completely enough for all sides.
  2. Make a 1 cm fold on the vertical side of the paper and stick double-sided tape to it without removing the protective layer on the other side. Connect both sides so that they fit snugly into the box. After that, glue them according to the proven principle so that the junction is exactly in the center. If everything is done correctly, then the seam will be almost invisible.
  3. On the side, fold the top edge of the paper to fit the box. Then wrap the valves on the side. And stick adhesive tape on the edge (1 cm) of the bottom side without removing the protective layer. Bend it and see that the seam is exactly in the center. Only then glue it on.
  4. Turn the box over with the seam down and make sure the packaging is tight.
  5. Decorate the box with a ribbon or a bow, choosing them taking into account the characteristics of the main shade.

Square or rectangular

Most often, gifts already have their factory packaging in the form of a square or rectangular box, but to give the surprise a more sophisticated look, you need to wrap it in beautiful gift paper.

How to wrap a square or rectangular gift:

  1. Spread the prepared material on the table with the reverse side up.
  2. Wrap the box with paper on all sides and leave an additional margin of 4-5 cm. After that, cut off a piece from the roll.
  3. Make a 1 cm fold along one of the long edges and stick double-sided tape over it without removing the protective layer from above.
  4. Fix the second long edge also with a small piece of adhesive tape 1.5 cm further from the center of the box.
  5. Put a prepared fold on top, but so that it passes exclusively in the center. After making sure of this, remove the protective layer and stick.
  6. To wrap the two remaining sides, you should initially bend the side flaps tightly.
  7. Then make a 1 cm fold along the edge of the bottom side of the paper, and stick double-sided adhesive tape on top.
  8. Press the top edge firmly against the box and fix in the center with a small piece of adhesive tape.
  9. After that, lay the prepared lower edge on top with a fold so that it runs exactly in the center of the side.
  10. If everything matches, remove the protective layer of adhesive tape and stick it tightly.

As a result, the central seam can be hidden with a satin ribbon of the desired color.

Long box

To give a gift in a long box a presentable look, you must adhere to a certain course of action:

  • Measure the length and width of the box.
  • Cut off a strip of paper according to the calculations obtained, adding a margin of 3 cm.
  • Spread the prepared sheet wrong side up on a hard surface.
  • Center the box.
  • Make a 1 cm fold along the bottom edge and stick double-sided tape on top of it.
  • Fold the top side tightly along the edge of the box and secure with a small piece of adhesive tape.
  • Put the prepared fold on top and glue evenly.
  • From the remaining sides, it is necessary to bend the side flaps inward to form a triangle.
  • Then tightly fix the top edge on the box.
  • At the bottom, make a 1.5 cm bend and stick adhesive tape on top.
  • After that, fix it on top of the previous layer.

Round or oval

How to pack a gift in round or oval gift paper, these recommendations will help you figure it out, since in this case the procedure is carried out a little differently.

How to pack a gift in gift paper if it is round: step by step instructions

Step by step:

  1. Measure the height and width of the box and, adding 3 cm to the results, cut off a strip of gift paper.
  2. Turn the box on its side, wrap it completely, leaving a margin of 1.5 cm above and below, but after removing the lid.
  3. Carefully wrap the remaining edges deep into and down the box, fixing them with tape.
  4. Cut out a circle from gift paper, the diameter of which will be 0.5 cm smaller than the bottom of the gift, and glue it.
  5. Make a similar circle according to the size of the lid, but at the same time, increasing its diameter by 1.5 cm, glue it, and bend the resulting stock down with decorated folds.
  6. Cut a strip 1 cm wider than the box lid, glue it on the side, and tuck the remaining stock into the middle and fix it with tape.

flat

To pack a gift in a flat box, it is better to use the following optimal option:

  • Measure the height and width of the box.
  • Calculate the required size of a piece of paper by adding the value of the length and twice the result of the width of the gift.

  • Lay the gift across on the back of the paper.
  • Glue a small piece of tape to the bottom corner of the paper and fix it in the center of the box.
  • From above, you should fix the opposite corner of the paper according to the same principle.
  • Bend the ends on the side and make bends inward 1.5-2 cm along the remaining sides.
  • Alternately fix the 2 remaining sides with adhesive tape in the center.
  • Mask the place of fixation with additional decor.

custom size

Sometimes gifts have a non-standard shape, which complicates their packaging process a bit.

In this case, you can resort to such tricks:

  1. Cut out a base from thick cardboard, the size of which should be equal to the diameter of the gift.
  2. Using the same principle, cut a strip of corrugated paper or polysilk, adding a margin of 2 cm.
  3. Make a 1 cm bend along the edge on the side, and glue double-sided tape on top without removing the protective layer from the top side.
  4. Fix the bottom edge of the paper from below in the center of the prepared base with adhesive tape, creating decorated folds.
  5. Place the box with the gift inside, and seal the edges on the side, laying the prepared fold on top.
  6. Tie the top of the wrapper with a colorful ribbon.

How to wrap a big gift

Sometimes the size of a gift can significantly exceed the standards - just paste over the factory packaging with the material you like and decorate it with a satin ribbon or bow on top.

In the case of a huge gift, it is enough to wrap it with a film or cover it with gift paper, and decorate it with additional decor on top. Such packaging is easy to remove later when presenting a gift.

If the gift is small

If the gift fits in a small box, then you should not burden it too much with a wrapper.

It is better to use the following packing option:

  • Cut out a square from gift paper, the length of the sides of which should be 2 times the height and width of the gift.
  • Place the box in the center across the paper.
  • Raise the ends of the material up, connecting them in the center.
  • Fix with a thin tape and carefully straighten the edges.

  2. Make a bend at the top of 2 cm, and on the side of 1 cm.
  3. Glue double-sided tape on the side bend and connect the edges.
  4. On the opposite side, hold your hand to form a uniform fold.
  5. At the bottom, wrap the paper 3-5 cm, depending on the width of the gift.
  6. Straighten the resulting upper and lower sides, and wrap the side flaps in the middle.
  7. Make a 1 cm fold at the bottom edge and stick double-sided adhesive tape.
  8. Fix the edges to each other by laying the side with tape on top.
  9. Put your hand inside the bag, straightening the bottom and bending the sides inward.
  10. From above, make holes for the handles with a hole punch and make twine in them, fixing them with knots at the ends.

Video about wrapping gifts with paper

Video how to pack a gift in gift paper - three simple and quick ways:

We present gifts to relatives, friends, colleagues for birthdays, New Year, and other holidays. Those who believe that content is more important than form think that it is quite possible to do without a beautiful wrapper. Candy in candy wrapper and without is equally delicious! However, even a very serious and respectable person will be sincerely delighted with an exquisitely and ingeniously packaged gift.

The most popular "container" for him, like hundreds of years ago, remains paper. Let's see how to wrap a gift in paper.

Paper, which did not dream of the ancient Chinese

The choice of paper is enormous. The stores offer wrapping paper thin and durable, glossy and matte, corrugated and embossed.

Sheet glossy paper

The most convenient for our purpose. It comes in a variety of colors and patterns.

craft

Kraft is designed specifically for gift wrapping. This type of paper is slightly ribbed to the touch, with transverse embossing. Produced in rolls of ten meters in length.

Silence

Silence is thin, light, airy. Therefore, it is also used as a filler. Objects of complex shape are wrapped in silence, which this type of container fits elegantly and in relief.

Polysilk

Irregularly shaped gifts are often also packaged in polysilk. From it create large decorative bows. It resembles a dense film, stretches a little. For these not quite paper properties, polysilk is loved by designers and stylists.

corrugated paper

Monochromatic rough corrugated paper is familiar to everyone as an element of packaging of flower bouquets. It is often used to decorate souvenir bottles and other narrow elongated gifts packed in boxes and tubes.

mulberry

Mulberry is a type of handmade paper made in Thailand. The color range is extensive. Often has a pattern or ornament, sometimes - inserts of floristic materials (dried flowers, fragments of stems, leaves).

These varieties of wrapping paper do not exhaust the entire selection. There is also mother-of-pearl, silk, crinkled, embossed, gel ... The inventors of paper, the ancient Chinese, never dreamed of such a thing!

Packing square or rectangular box

First, let's learn how to properly pack a gift with our own hands, if it is in a square or rectangular box.

We will need:

  • packaging paper
  • ribbons, cords for decoration
  • tape measure or centimeter
  • scissors
  • adhesive tape (preferably double-sided - the ordinary one will be too noticeable, and it remains to be seen whether it can be carefully disguised enough).

We pack a box of round or oval shape

Let's figure out how to wrap a round gift. Hats, tea or coffee sets, sweets, cookies, tea are sold in a round or oval box. Not every professional packer will cope with a box of this shape, so again, practice first on junk paper.

We measure the height of the box. Cut a strip of gift paper 2-3 cm wider. We glue the box around with this strip, not forgetting to tuck 1 cm under the bottom, 1-2 cm inside. Remove the lid, of course. Cut out a circle or oval from wrapping paper a little smaller than the bottom. We glue the bottom of the box so that the folded allowance is not visible.

With a lid, it's the other way around. Cut a slightly larger circle or oval, glue it and the allowance on the sides, laying neat folds. We cut out a paper strip 1 cm wider than the height of the lid. We glue it flush with the top of the lid, tuck the protruding allowance inward.

Here is another master class in pictures using corrugated paper

Finishing touch - box design

We figured out how to properly pack a gift in paper. Now you need to decorate it in an original way. Let's look at a few ideas.

The box can be tied with a ribbon or ribbon. No, it's too banal. And if with several ribbons or ribbons of different colors and textures?

If you chose plain, unpatterned wrapping paper, drag the box with a thin thread or ribbon and attach a flower or bow on top. This bright accent will give ordinary paper a special charm.

For a men's gift, more restrained packaging is more suitable. Tiny plastic Christmas tree balls can be tied to the New Year; for the birthday - small bows or other decorative ornaments. Anyone can do it in an hour, it will look spectacular!

It is better to put a children's gift in a bright textile bag or arrange it in the form of a large candy. Kids love to extract all sorts of interesting surprises from packages.

Souvenir shops sell ready-made packing boxes. If your gift is oversized, look there: what if you guess by the size?

In general, it is useful to go shopping in search of fresh ideas on how to advantageously complement gift wrapping. Among various cute little things, you can sometimes find something that is useful to you. Brightly colored natural bird feathers or miniature butterfly brooches, for example. And you can delve into home stocks and find original ribbons, decorative laces, miniature souvenirs that are enough to stick on a gift box. For those who know how to crochet, making a round flower is a matter of minutes, and glued together with ribbons to the package, it will look like a designer exclusive.

Slow down your imagination, and your efforts and experiments on how to pack a gift will not be in vain, but will be appreciated.

In a presentation, not only the content is important, but also its external design. One of the most popular types of holiday packaging is wrapping in mica or gift paper. There are many ways to wrap, so there are some that anyone can handle!

An envelope for you!

Do you remember what an envelope looks like? On the reverse side, four triangles come together. How to use it? To begin with, take a look at the presented object itself: if its shape is square or rectangular, then you can prepare scissors and a ruler.

  1. On the little thing, you need to draw two diagonal lines connecting opposite corners. You can do this with a pencil, chalk, or a piece of dry soap so that the lines are easily erased later. You have four triangles.
  2. Put the thing on the wrapper and draw an identical triangle on each side, only reflected upwards.
  3. Then connect the vertices of the triangles with a line. It should look like a rhombus (if the shape resembles a square).
  4. On both sides of the drawn figure, add 2-3 cm, again outline with lines. Cut off the excess.
  5. Bend one triangle onto the item to be packed. The blank will be slightly wider than the sides of the gift. First iron the fold line at the top, then on the sides. Bend the resulting triangular piece up.
  6. Now grab the two side triangles. Bend the sheet to the object to be wrapped, iron the fold line. From the bottom end of the triangle, turn the edge diagonally outward, then fold it inward. Now your fold starts strictly in the corner. Ready. Do the same on the opposite side.
It remains to make the upper part. Its manufacture differs only in that it is necessary to make diagonal bends from two sides at once. Attach double-sided tape to the finished triangle cover.

To decorate the packaging, use twine, stamps. Write the name and address of the birthday person.

Updated classic

The classic way of wrapping is bad because it leaves a “raw” cut that needs to be hidden under the tape. And how to make sure that all the cuts look neat? It is worth changing the technology a bit.

  1. Expand the roll of gift mica, place a box with a present in the middle. On both sides of it, set aside a value equal to the height and width of the box, and from the top and bottom edges - equal only to the height. Trim off the excess.
  2. Lay the left side of the packing material over the box and secure it with a small piece of tape.
  3. Place the right half of the wrapper on the box as well, but do not fix it. Iron the fold line with your fingers. Unscrew the sheet: the fold line should be clearly visible and divide the sheet into two unequal parts. Divide most of it in half and make pencil marks at the edges.
  4. Next, you need to bend the corners inward from the middle of the sheet height to the marks made. Fix the resulting corner with strips of adhesive tape and cover the gift with it.
  5. Now it remains to arrange two sidewalls in the package. Bend the top of the wrapping paper inwards, forming neat "ears" in the form of triangles.
  6. Then fold the triangles over and secure with duct tape.
  7. It remains to slightly tuck the edge at the bottom of the remaining part and also lay it inside and stick it on adhesive tape. The same is done on the other side.

If desired, you can tie a ribbon or any other decoration on top.

bulk packaging

You can beautifully pack a thing not only in a box, but also without it. To do this, you should choose more dense grades of wrapping paper. And the sequence of actions is as follows:

  1. Prepare a sheet about twice the size of the present. Place the present vertically in the center.
  2. Wrap it with the left and right side of the wrapper. It is important not to push through the fold lines!
  3. Sew the bottom of the resulting bundle with threads, stepping back from the wrapped object and leaving about 1.5-2 cm of paper after the seam. You can sew the seam either manually or with a sewing machine.
  4. Lay the bundle on its side and smooth the side folds on its upper cut. You have got the top edge perpendicular to the bottom, and the package itself has become voluminous.
  5. Along the top cut, you also need to lay a seam.
  6. The final touch is the decoration of the cuts. They can be given an interesting shape with curly scissors or decorated with lace, sequins, etc.

You can sew the edges in such a bundle not only with threads, but also with ribbons or braid.

For children

Children's packaging may differ from adult packaging. For example, you can make a cute dog or cat out of craft paper:

  1. Put the present on kraft paper. Up and down from it, set aside rectangles with the width of the gift itself. Their length should be equal to the height plus half the length of the present.
  2. Set aside strips with rounded ends to the left and right, equal in size to the already laid out rectangles.
  3. Draw two protrusions at the ends of the rectangles. These are the future ears of animals and the "castle". In the semicircular elements at the edge in the center, make slots into which the protrusions-ears will be inserted.
The template is ready, but first make eyes, nose, tongue, paws, tail, ears from any materials at hand (not necessarily from kraft paper) and glue the details to the scan.

In this way, you can make almost any animal: a fox, a wolf, a bunny and others.

Complex shape is not a hindrance

If the present is placed in a round box, then this is not a problem:

  1. It is easy to measure the required width of the wrapper: cover the box with paper and cut off the excess.
  2. On a workpiece of the desired width, it is now necessary to determine the height. To do this, measure the radius of the bottom and lid (if the latter is larger), as well as the height of the box. Then mark on the wrapper first the radius of the bottom, then the height of the box and the radius of the lid.
  3. Place the present on the sheet according to the marks, wrap the edges on top of each other and stick a strip of adhesive tape in the center of the overlap.
  4. To design the bottom and top of the box, you will need more patience: take one edge and press it to the center of the lid, moving in a clockwise direction, pick up the paper to the center with your fingers, while forming neat folds. For convenience, you can periodically fix the paper collected in the center with tape.
  5. When the assemblies on the lid and bottom are ready, all that remains is to decorate them in the center. For the bottom, cut a circle from the packaging material, and glue a bow on the lid.

If you want to make the cover removable, then pack it separately according to the same scheme. Do not forget to leave allowances for the hem inside the product.

Be sure to try yourself to give things a real gift look. You will see that it is not only quite simple, but also exciting.

A universal selection of gift ideas for every occasion and occasion. Surprise your friends and loved ones! ;)

How to wrap a gift in gift paper: step by step instructions

It is not difficult to make packaging with your own hands, even without a box, which has already become a traditional symbol of almost any holiday.

There are several options here:

1 Just wrap the present with wrapping paper. The master class below describes this process in sufficient detail. I often use it myself, it works great)

For this method, you will need to cut out a piece of paper that is wide and tall enough to wrap the gift. Usually for this it is enough to multiply the width and height of the surprise by 2, add the side parts if the present is not flat and leave a small margin for hem. Then you need to wrap the gift according to the instructions below.

It is best to pack in this way:

  • book,
  • neatly folded T-shirt
  • towel,
  • picture,
  • telephone.

Due to the fact that you yourself set the shape with the help of wrapping paper, even a soft rag surprise can be decorated in this way.

2 Origami. It turns out very original and at the same time you can even do without a box. All you need is a sheet of paper and a little patience (well, a ruler with scissors will also come in handy).

Such a light paper box is good to make from the so-called kraft paper, which has an interesting property to give any creation something stylish. Try to apply it too. You can’t put a big gift in such a box, but a small souvenir will look very cool here.

3 There is another object that is not at all easy to approach - a round or oval shape. In fact, everything here is easy to do yourself - take a square of the wrapper, put the box in the center and ... collect the excess in a bundle.

We use corrugated paper

What is the advantage of corrugated paper? It is in her corrugation. Such a wrapper can be expanded where necessary, and given the desired shape. And for some of the methods described above, such paper is also suitable.

It would be ideal to wrap it in:

  • bottle,
  • watch,
  • plate,
  • handle,
  • mug.

Thanks to the structure of the paper, it will be very easy to wrap a bottle. You will need the top and bottom piece, which you need to wrap first the top of the bottle, and then the bottom. To make it all look harmonious, tie the bottle with a thin ribbon and mask the junction with decorative ornaments.

For round gifts, everything is quite simple - you just need to cut off a piece of paper that covers the side of the surprise around the perimeter. The lower and upper parts will need to be assembled and decorated at the junction.

Another simple method that works for just about any small to medium sized gift is candy wrapping. With such a task, you can really do it yourself in a few minutes.

Presenting a present in a box

Boxes come in different shapes. Rectangular, oval, triangular - this is just the tip of the packaging iceberg, the variety of shapes is much greater.

Let's start with the traditional shape, which is not at all difficult to create from thick cardboard.

If you are preparing for an important holiday, then the gift box should be decorated. This can be done, for example, as described below. A great way to congratulate a man by wrapping, say, a shirt in such a box.

To make your gift memorable for a long time, I suggest using the previously mentioned discs. But this time you need not a wrapper from them, but they themselves. Circle the disk as shown in the photo, then cut and fold the edges.

For a larger box, you can use plates, pans and much more.

And here is the presentation packaging in video format:

That's all! We have come to the end of the article on how to wrap a gift. I think you have found something suitable for you. Or maybe I didn't say something? Then write about it in the comments.

See you!

A gift is an integral part of any celebration. Pleasant and unexpected surprises are presented to relatives, colleagues and friends. Often, people believe that the present itself is much more important than its design, but this is not entirely true.

After all, the first impression a person makes when he sees the wrapper, its color, size, jewelry elements - all this is of great importance.

After all, making a choice between two that you have not tried before, you will stretch your hand to the one that is more beautiful in appearance.

The most common and popular packaging material is wrapping paper. Without it, today, it is simply impossible to imagine the holidays. We will talk about it today.

real holiday

Wrapping paper has been used as a decoration material for decades, it comes in different colors and textures, and is selected based on the preferences of the buyer.

With its help, you can easily wrap any gift (rectangular or round, soft or hard, large or small, flat or voluminous).

It is sold in rolls, having measured your present, you will know exactly how much paper you need.

Advice! Always buy packaging material "with a margin", it is better to have it left than not enough.

The main advantage of wrapping paper is that you have a huge selection. All you need is to visit a specialized website or store, and with the help of a consultant or manager, choose the appropriate option.

In addition to embossed, matte and glossy, there are many varieties of corrugated paper:

  • Craft;
  • Sheet glossy;
  • Polysilk;
  • Silence;
  • Mulbury and others.

Before proceeding with the design, you need to know how to properly pack a gift in wrapping paper, a few simple rules:

  1. The packaging material should be folded at least (1-2 cm) on all sides.
  2. According to etiquette, the covering side should be the right side.
  3. Ribbons (if you use them in decoration) should be cut at an angle.
  4. Do not stick the packaging to the box itself.

Packaging Variations

To make the present look beautiful, you need to know a few classic ways of packaging:

  1. The easiest and fastest way for which you will need: scissors, pencil, knife, tape, colored string and paper that is different in color from yours. Lay out the drawing in layers on the finished base to obtain the effect of volume. For example, draw a butterfly or a flower with a pencil and cut it out with a knife so that the accessory remains voluminous. After that, it is wrapped in paper (first in colored paper, and then in plain paper) and tied with a cord.
  2. If everything is more or less simple with a square or rectangular present, then problems can arise with round objects. First you need to measure the height of the box, then cut off a large strip from the packaging material (it must be 3-4 cm higher than the box itself). Glue the container around with this strip. Then make a circle for the bottom (glue it so that it would completely hide the tucked allowance). Cut the lid a little larger than its actual size and glue it, with an allowance on the sides.

If you don’t have wrapping paper at hand, then use parchment or foil, what exactly to wrap your business with, the main thing is the end result.

Do not chase too expensive wrapping materials; for gifts, the main thing is the aesthetic component, not the price.

To decorate a packaged present, you can use pictures printed on a printer or any paper crafts.

You can also add a beautifully packaged present with an original postcard with your congratulations. Here is an excellent choice:

In the packaging of the present, you need to invest a little work, a little imagination and a piece of yourself, then it will turn out to be stylish, unusual and very beautiful.
