Looking for adventure but afraid of the cold? Do not sit still, but are you afraid to freeze yourself something important? Want to get out somewhere, but the weather outside makes you think of the Ice Age? Kill it. In this article we will try to answer the question "How to choose thermal underwear?". We hope this will partially help you not to give up your favorite entertainment, even though it is wildly cold or hellishly hot around.

Rule number one: Throw away all cotton underwear. And t-shirts too. Although no, if the T-shirts are from some memorable concert or event, then you can leave them. Cotton fabrics absorb and retain moisture too well to be worn in cold weather. Everyone knows perfectly well that wet clothes are continuous problems, and in the cold or in the process of active loads, these problems will become even more.

The most important function of thermal underwear is the removal of moisture from the body. These words need to be cut into your nose. Thermal underwear is worn not only in the cold, all professional athletes use functional clothing in any conditions, including in order to reduce the effects of heat.

What are the main advantages of thermal underwear over conventional cotton underwear?

Drains sweat into outer layers of clothing
- dries very quickly
- helps to maintain body temperature in different parts of the body at the same level

In windy and cold conditions, these benefits can save your life. The market is dominated by two types of thermal underwear: synthetic and wool. Let's try to compare the main points of interest and make a big picture to understand how to choose the right thermal underwear for a man or a woman.

Here are the general points about underwear. The table is generalized and very versatile, so you should already have a correct understanding of what is happening, and even at this stage you can figure out which thermal underwear to choose.

Our website has basic information about the leading brands listed above: X-Bionic , Craft , F-Lite , Bodydry and Lasting . Also, products are presented in the corresponding section.

Debriefing, what are they sewing from?

Now let's talk about the features of the materials and what we generally mean by wool and synthetics.

Synthetic thermal underwear:

Synthetics. This applies primarily to polyester and polyester-based blends. The main impurities that are used in combination with polyester are often elastane, spandex or nylon. Synthetic fabrics have many different names: everyone has heard of Coolmax, Eclipse, PowerStretch, Polartec, Nanoqpile and other options. All these are various weaves from base materials, which, depending on the composition, have various indicators of strength, elasticity, thermal insulation and moisture removal.

All polyester-based fabrics have in common:

Pros:
- skin-friendly
- low weight and high compactness
- high resistance to abrasion, rolling and wear
- ease of washing and care

Minuses:
- smell ... ideally, linen should be washed after one day of use
- there is a risk that the fabric may noticeably lose color over time
- synthetic fibers based on petroleum products

Moreover, synthetics are used to make specialized compression thermal underwear for athletes, which can improve performance and results, opening the way to new achievements.

Compression thermal underwear- sportswear made of specialized elastic materials that fit the body. Such clothing supports the muscles, enhances the movements of the athlete, retaining and returning energy during stretching and contraction of muscles during physical activity.

A set of compression garments provides the athlete with slightly more endurance, strength, and energy efficiency. Compression clothing fits snugly to the body and allows you to better feel every movement, which means more control of the situation.

Advantages:

  • Maximizes the power of movement
  • Minimizes fatigue, allows you to quickly recover from the most intense workout
  • Reduces muscle tension and minimizes the risk of cramps.

However, compression clothing, reducing and taking on part of the sports load from the athlete, thereby reduces the physical fitness of the muscles and the entire body of the athlete.

Wool thermal underwear:

Get equipped!

Choose the right thermal underwear. Consider size, purpose and weather conditions. It is important to choose the correct size.

With the onset of cold weather, people begin to be interested in buying thermal underwear in stores. Previously, it was purchased only by athletes. But today this type of underwear has become popular among ordinary people, because it has many advantages.

  • Thermal underwear is designed to remove moisture and thermal insulation
  • Outwardly, such clothes look like a regular long-sleeved T-shirt, turtleneck, pants, tight shorts, leggings, and so on.
  • The material is of great importance when creating thermal underwear. It should wick away moisture well, keep warm and be pleasant to the body.
  • Modern technologies make it possible to make a fabric from special microfibers, which creates a feeling of comfort for a person.
  • It is important to choose such clothing in size so that it fits snugly around the figure, but at the same time, the elastic thermal suit should not squeeze or interfere with movements.

So, in thermal underwear you should feel comfortable. Therefore, you need to buy this type of clothing strictly according to your size. How to do it right? How to choose thermal underwear by size?

To determine the size of such a tight-fitting suit, you need to measure the volume of the chest, waist, hips, as well as know your height and weight. Determining the size in this way is suitable for dresses, skirts and other clothes.

From the table below you can find out your size according to the measurements taken for the circumference of the waist, chest and hips.

But such a table is not made for every person. Many people may have a question: people are not perfect, there are fat, thin, tall people - how can they choose the right size for thermal wear?

Important: The main indicator of choosing the right size is the volume (waist, hips).

This indicator will help you choose the right size thermal suit, for example, for tall and thin people, or overweight women and short men. In this case, the sleeves can be a little long or short. But this will not create a big problem, since thermal underwear is worn under clothes, and short sleeves or slightly long legs will not be noticeable.

Important: Such thermal underwear will well remove moisture and warm, as it is in excellent contact with the skin. There is no need to wear T-shirts or T-shirts under thermal suits!

The child may not notice increased sweating or exposure to cold air on their own. But the negative impact of the external environment on the health of the child can be prevented with the help of thermal underwear.

What thermal underwear to choose for a child and how to wear it correctly? This type of clothing for children is made from natural and synthetic fabrics:

  • Linen with added wool repels moisture well and warms in cold weather. This thermal clothing is suitable for a relaxing walk.
  • If you are planning an active winter holiday x, then synthetics should be preferred. Many parents are frightened by the very word "synthetics", but thermal underwear is made from special high-quality fibers. Therefore, this type of clothing removes moisture well, and the baby will not be wet from sweat.
  • Thermal suits for children under 7 years old made from hypoallergenic fabrics that do not adversely affect the delicate skin of the baby

Basic rules for choosing thermal underwear for children:

  • For young children, choose two-layer thermal underwear: the first layer is a natural thread, the second is a synthetic fabric
  • Pure woolen underwear should be purchased if you're sure baby not predisposed to allergic dermatitis
  • Do not wear thermal underwear over tank tops, T-shirts or tights. Thermal properties are preserved if such clothing is worn on a naked body.
  • Buy thermal suits for your child in the correct size. Such underwear "for growth" will not fit snugly to the body, and small-sized clothing can hinder movement.

Important: High-quality thermal underwear is an excellent prevention of hypothermia. The baby will feel comfortable, regardless of weather conditions.

The style of thermal underwear for women is of great importance. In addition to the heat-saving features of such clothes, appearance is important for a woman. Now on sale you can find a lot of women's models - stylish and beautifully decorated.

For ladies, before buying, the question always arises, how and what thermal underwear to choose for everyday wear for every day in winter for a woman?

Important: Thermal underwear intended for women should fit the figure slightly.

If you choose the wrong size or style, then the lady will have to choose between beauty, refusal to wear thermal underwear, since she will not be able to wear it, and warmth.

Tip: Choose thermal clothing made from stretchy fabric. When you try it on, leggings and a T-shirt should fit comfortably - not squeeze or create folds.

Currently, manufacturers make thermal underwear from fabrics made using special weaving technologies, and with a combination of natural and synthetic fibers.

Tip: For everyday wear, choose seamless patterns that will be invisible even under an elegant dress.

For example, you can opt for tank tops or extra-thin underwear that will keep you warm and not stand out under your clothes.

The problem of excess weight is familiar to many women. Daily workouts, diets - all this gives results, but not immediately. Wearing special thermal clothing will help speed up the process.

Women's thermal underwear for weight loss: which one to choose and how to wear? Modern technologies allow manufacturers to create a material consisting of two layers. The first layer, which is in contact with the body, perfectly absorbs moisture. The second is made of nylon and neoprene - these fibers are able to retain the heat of the human body.

How thermal underwear for weight loss "works":

  • It raises the temperature in problem areas where there is contact with the body.
  • There is increased sweating
  • Together with sweat, excess moisture is removed, adding weight and volume.

Remember: By itself, thermal underwear is not able to save you from excess weight. It "works" in combination with diets, sports.

Tip: Wear these thermals to fitness sessions to increase the effectiveness of your fat-burning exercises.

Any physical activity gives its results: rhythmic or active movements allow the heart to work better, heat is produced, and, accordingly, profuse sweat is released. Therefore, when playing sports, you need to wear special clothes that will remove moisture from the surface of the skin, leaving the body dry.

Sports thermal underwear for women: how and what to choose, how to wear? High-quality sports thermal clothing consists of 100% synthetics. To create such a fabric, polyamide, polyester and polyurethane fibers are used.

Important: Choose thermal underwear according to size. It should sit like a “second skin” so that sweat quickly leaves and does not accumulate on the bottom layer of the product, near the body.

Many manufacturers offer zonal underwear designed for each female area: chest, thighs, armpits, arms, and so on. After all, in each zone a different amount of sweat is released.

Tip: Wear thermal underwear under the bottom of your sportswear - on your naked body. This will help to keep the heat produced by the body and provide maximum thermal insulation.

For your man, choose thermal clothing made from fabric with good properties. The thermal qualities, the rate of sweat absorption, and the ability to transmit air will depend on this. The body is comfortable if the skin breathes, the air circulates and there is no moisture.

How and what to choose thermal underwear for everyday wear for a man? For cold weather, pay attention to such fabrics:

  • Synthetics with polyester, polypropylene and elastane fibers. Clothing made from this material perfectly removes moisture and saves heat. Thermal underwear will not shrink after washing and will have its original appearance for a long time.
  • Synthetic fibers with wool thread. This fabric is eco-friendly, it warms well. But, if a large amount of sweat is released, then the process of its removal will proceed more slowly, therefore, such underwear is not suitable for sports
  • Natural cotton and wool fabric. Many manufacturers refuse to create thermal underwear from such materials. This fabric breathes well, but also perfectly absorbs moisture. Therefore, when sweat is released, the clothes will be wet and stick to the body. All this is fraught with hypothermia.

Conclusion: For a walk, choose thermal clothing from a hybrid fabric (synthetics with wool). For sports - from synthetics, and thermal underwear from natural fabrics is suitable for wearing at home.

The fishing suit and overalls of the motorcyclist have their own characteristics. They are tightly fastened and made of dense materials.

Need to know: Men's summer thermal underwear for fishing and motorcycling should be made of ultra-light fabrics. It is made using a special seamless technology from functional knitwear.

What to choose thermal underwear for the summer? At this time of the year, it is important that the body is comfortable and not hot. Therefore, choose clothes made of polyester fibers. They have the feature of dynamically changing properties depending on weather conditions. Thanks to this fabric, clothes perfectly regulate the temperature and humidity of the body.

Important: Many manufacturers, in the production of thermal underwear, introduce silver ions into the fibers. This technique helps to neutralize the negative effects of bacteria on the skin during wear, and reduce unpleasant odors, providing freshness and coolness.

Modern men, like women, try to take care of themselves. They go in for sports, follow a proper diet. All this gives excellent results. But, if a man is overweight, then he wants to quickly bring his appearance closer to the ideal. Thermal underwear for weight loss for men will help with this.

What to choose thermal clothing for weight loss, and how to wear it? Make a choice of men's thermal underwear for weight loss according to the principle of choosing women's.

Tip: Buy a zonal thermal suit that will wick moisture in each specific zone according to certain criteria. For example, a man produces more sweat on his back, in the armpits and on his chest.

In addition, the bottom layer of such clothing is made of moisture-absorbing fibers, and the top layer is made of microfibers that retain heat. There is a sauna effect - moisture leaves, and with it fat and excess weight.

Tip: For weight loss, wear a thermal suit for training or running under sportswear.

Fishing in the winter season is a passive activity that involves a long time without movement. Intense physical activity can occur if a fisherman drills holes in the ice.

Important: Men's thermal underwear for winter fishing should wick away moisture well and keep you warm.

What thermal clothing to choose for fishing in the winter? An excellent solution is multi-layered fabrics consisting of cotton, wool and synthetics. Cotton and wool fibers will keep you warm, while synthetics will wick away a small amount of moisture.

Important: In this case, choosing the right size for such clothes is of great importance.

Tourism at any time of the year involves high physical activity. For a summer hike or a walk in the mountains, choose seamless thermal clothing made from lightweight fabrics. For the manufacture of such clothes, a special elastic knitwear is used.

What thermal underwear to choose for tourism in winter? In the cold season, for long-term physical activity, choose clothes made of fleece with cotton threads combined with synthetics in several layers.

Important: Natural fabric warms the body, and synthetic fibers do an excellent job of removing moisture.

Hunting is an active sport, as a person is in motion almost all the time. Men's thermal underwear for hunting: which one to choose for summer and winter?

The choice of thermal clothing for hunting is similar to the choice of products for tourism:

  • In summer, wear thermal underwear made of light cold jersey.
  • In winter, wear a thermal suit made of cotton fibers and synthetics.

Fishermen and hunters often use special suits - waders. Under such tight clothes, it is necessary to wear special underpants and a long-sleeved T-shirt.

What is the best thermal underwear for waders? In tight clothing, the body will intensively release moisture, especially when moving. Therefore, wear thermal underwear made from breathable microfibers (natural fabrics) and synthetics (to wick sweat away from the surface of the skin).

Important: In the right thermal underwear for waders, you will be comfortable and warm in winter, or comfortable and cool in summer.

Any person can get confused in the variety of models of thermal suits, manufacturers and sizes, which are different for each brand. Which thermal underwear is better to choose?

With the onset of winter cold, many people face the question: which thermal underwear is better to choose. Previously, it was available only to professional athletes, but now it can be bought at any specialized store, the main thing is not to make a mistake with the choice.

The main purpose of thermal underwear is to retain heat and remove moisture from the body.

From the article you will learn how to choose the right quality thermal underwear for everyday wear, sports or fishing.

Fabric structure

The purpose of thermal underwear is determined by several parameters, one of them is the material used for its manufacture.

It is more preferable if natural and synthetic materials are combined, as they complement each other well. Let's look at some of them.

natural fabrics

Choose thermal underwear made from natural fabrics if it will be used for low activity, since natural fabrics are designed to warm and retain heat, not to wick moisture away from the body.

Natural fabrics are well suited for everyday use.

Wool

Wool increases blood circulation and has a warming effect. Ideal for simple walks in the cold.

Cotton

This fabric is pleasant to the touch, absorbs moisture well, which is not suitable for active sports. Cotton, like wool, is more suitable for everyday wear, walking, fishing and even sleeping.

Silk

Silk is not used in its pure form. The silk added to the thermal underwear makes it pleasant for contact with the body and more wear-resistant and durable.

Synthetic fabrics

Unlike natural fabrics, synthetics wick moisture away from the body well, which makes it possible to use thermal underwear for active types of recreation. It does not deform and is wear resistant.

Synthetic thermal underwear is suitable for athletes and people who endure heavy physical exertion.

Polyester

Polyester removes moisture well, will last a long time, remaining soft and pleasant for the body, this is facilitated by the similarity of the fiber structure with cotton.

Polyester thermal underwear can be subjected to heat treatment, such as ironing and drying on batteries.

Polypropylene

Polypropylene is the best at removing moisture from the body and has zero absorbency. This property can be attributed to both pluses and minuses, since polypropylene underwear will dry the skin and cannot be worn for a long time.

Elastane

For elasticity and increase wear resistance, elastane fibers are added to the fabric. Thermal underwear with the addition of elastane does not stretch, stretches well and fits the figure.

Polyamide

Polyamide is used in the manufacture of seamless underwear. Linen made of polyamide is light, smooth and soft to the touch.

To eliminate unpleasant odors, thermal underwear is subjected to antibacterial and antiseptic treatment.

When choosing the material from which thermal underwear is made, consider the physical activity under which it will be used.

For heavy loads, choose fabrics with a high content of synthetics, and for light loads, give preference to natural fabrics.

Men's thermal underwear for cold weather

The usual set of men's thermal underwear consists of a long-sleeved T-shirt and underpants.

Depending on the type of fabric, it can be designed for sports or for everyday wear.

Most men lead a more active lifestyle, which is why thermal underwear for them is produced with a dense weave and reinforced areas that are especially prone to stress.

Women's thermal underwear differs from men's in that it is not only comfortable, but also beautiful. It should fit the body well so that you can wear your favorite clothes over it.

The range of women's thermal underwear is more diverse:

  • leggings,
  • swimming trunks,
  • shorts,
  • bodysuit,
  • shirts,
  • shirts.

Women's underwear can be of various colors and be decorated with various finishing materials (velvet, lace, etc.). But this in no way reduces its basic qualities for thermal control.

The first thing you should remember is not to buy thermal underwear for a child for growth, only well-fitting underwear will cope with its main purpose.

The more mobile your child is, the more synthetics should be in thermal underwear to remove moisture. And vice versa, if the child is small and his activity is low, then it is necessary to give preference to natural fabrics, they will better warm your baby.

For children, thermal underwear can be bought literally from the cradle, the main thing is that it should be comfortable and practical.

Thermal underwear for sports

When engaging in active sports, moisture removal will be a more important characteristic. Therefore, for sports, choose synthetic thermal underwear. And we will tell you how to choose skis.

For fishing

Winter sports are an exciting hobby that gives a huge amount of positive emotions and a lot of unforgettable impressions. One of the most important pieces of equipment is thermal underwear. Convenience, comfort and health of athletes depend on the right choice of clothing.

Kinds

The climate on the planet is different everywhere, and the weather in winter in one region is not constant. In order for athletes to feel comfortable during training and competition in any climatic conditions,

There are three types of thermal underwear:
  • Thin also called easy. It can be used instead of the usual bottom. Wearing such underwear is recommended in warm and rainy weather. Clothing should fit snugly to the body, while the person should not experience discomfort. Maximum comfort is achieved thanks to the use of merino wool.
  • Middle thickness, as the name implies, is used in conditions of medium temperatures. It is put on as the first layer, and the second on thin. It allows you to show passivity, stand, sit on a stump and admire the surrounding beauties. How exactly to wear this type of equipment, everyone chooses for himself individually, depending on his own "frost resistance" and sweating.

  • Tolstoy used in severe low temperature conditions. Often such underwear is made with fleece in order to better retain heat. In conditions of severe frosts, moisture removal is a secondary matter, protection from the cold becomes a priority. This outfit is always worn as a second layer on thin linen. Some individuals, going on extreme expeditions, put it on even as a third layer.

Device

Thermal underwear is made from synthetic fabrics, as they have moisture-wicking properties, and also serve for a long time.

For the production of equipment are used:
  • Polyester.
  • Polypropylene.
  • Polartec.
  • Polyamide.

To improve the properties and increase the service life, wool, cotton or synthetic fibers are added to them, which are different from the base material.

Depending on which threads are added during the manufacture of equipment, its properties and purpose change:
  • Wool. This material perfectly retains heat, so underwear using woolen threads is considered the warmest. Woolen is used for all winter sports, as well as for extreme conditions and winter recreation. You can also just wear it in the winter. Depending on the thickness, the linen protects at temperatures from -5 to -30 degrees.
  • Synthetics. The basis of linen is 100% synthetics. The main task of such equipment is to remove moisture from the body. Natural fabrics absorb moisture into themselves, while synthetic lets it out, not letting it back out. Such equipment is designed for active winter sports, recreation and everyday wear.
  • Threads Coolmax. Such thermal underwear combines seemingly incongruous effects - warming and cooling. Such equipment is better ventilated thanks to Coolm threads. At the same time, if a person overheats, the body cooling function starts to work. The fabric is made from ten special threads - four Odlo and six Craft. The surface of such threads is 1.4 times larger than conventional threads, therefore, the capillary effect of the material is improved and the process of moisture evaporation is accelerated. With intense exercise, a person begins to sweat more, the evaporation process is accelerated, which results in a cooling effect. This underwear is ideal for active winter sports, recreation and everyday wear. At the same time, you can wear it in spring, winter and autumn, i.е. it is universal and works at temperatures from +20 to -20 degrees.
  • Membrane Windstopper. As the name of the membrane implies, the main function of such thermal underwear is wind protection. Under the linen has its own microclimate. The ideal microclimate temperature is 32 degrees. When it changes, a person feels discomfort. The Windstopper is made from stretched PTFE, which is light weight, nice textured and flexible. Ideal for training in windy weather. Suitable for sports, leisure and daily wear.
There are three types of thermal underwear:
  • Heat saving Designed to keep people warm during low to moderate physical activity. It can be used in any weather. This underwear works on the physical properties of the fabric. In any material there is a layer of air. When in contact with the body, the air warms up, creating comfortable microclimate conditions. Moreover, the thicker this layer, the warmer the person. To create a fabric, cellular or volumetric weaving of threads is used. This allows you to increase the layer of air. In this case, the fabric does not become thick or heavy. Thermal underwear breathes, i.e. passes air. This is done so that the person does not sweat.
  • moisture wicking removes excess moisture from the surface of the body. It is made exclusively from synthetics. The principle of operation is based on the same layer of air as the previous type. A zone of high pressure is formed inside, and a low pressure zone is formed outside. Warm air escapes, taking moisture particles with it. Since synthetics do not absorb moisture, an increased effect of its removal from the surface of the body without absorption is obtained. This outfit is recommended for heavy physical exertion in any conditions.
  • Combined has the properties of the two types described above. The material contains natural and synthetic fibers. In this case, the inner layer is made of moisture-wicking synthetics, and the outer layer is made of heat-saving synthetic or natural fabric.

How to choose thermal underwear

The choice of high-quality thermal underwear guarantees comfort and positive emotions during classes. When buying equipment, pay attention to:

  • Quantity and quality of seams. Quality is distinguished by a minimum number of soft and flat seams.
  • Strategically important places should be provided with special moisture-removing inserts-panels.
  • Be sure to try on clothes before buying. Underwear should fit the body, but not interfere with movements and do not rub anywhere.
  • Some types of equipment have UV protection. Such underwear has a UPF value on the label, the larger it is, the higher the protection.
  • Thermal underwear without harmful impurities has the Oeko-Tex 100 mark. If there is one, then the clothes are absolutely safe.
Advantages and disadvantages

Modern thermal underwear is made mainly from synthetic materials or from merino wool. Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Wool

The benefits of wool include:

  • Environmental friendliness.
  • Softness.
  • Ease.
  • Not susceptible to pollution.
  • Excellent moisture wicking properties.
  • Elasticity.

Flaws:

  • High price.
  • Long drying time.
Synthetics

Synthetics have almost all the advantages of wool, in addition, they dry quickly, do not lose their shape after washing and are inexpensive. The disadvantages include the fact that the material is still artificial and made from petroleum products. In addition, it quickly gets dirty and retains unpleasant odors. The last two shortcomings are easy to eliminate - just wash the equipment after each wear.

By choosing high-quality underwear in size, you will enjoy winter sports and recreation without fear that you will freeze and catch a cold. Such equipment will fully allow you to enjoy the beauties of the surrounding nature or the process of waiting for prey while hunting or fishing.

maintains body temperature due to the special weaving of threads that create a layer of warm air between the fabric and your body. It is this warm air that does not freeze even in severe frost. Another important function of thermal underwear is to remove moisture from the surface of the skin and protect it from the wind.

When choosing underwear, be sure to look for a note on what temperature this or that set is designed for. Some models are only suitable for walking in the woods on a slightly frosty fine day, while others can withstand extremely low temperatures.

Another point that you should pay attention to when choosing thermal underwear is the presence of a special antibacterial impregnation of the fabric. The fact is that, while collecting sweat from the surface of your body, underwear can also accumulate unpleasant odors, and without antibacterial impregnation, you will have to wash your kit almost daily.

It’s good if the chosen set of linen is marked “hypoallergenic”. The fact is that any thermal underwear must contain additives of synthetic fabric and this fabric should not cause irritation on the skin.

Natural or synthetic?

It all depends on why you need a set of thermal underwear. If you want to go for a walk at a slow pace or for winter fishing, it is better to choose underwear made mainly from natural materials - wool or cotton. The fact is that the main function of such linen is to preserve, therefore, in such linen it will be comfortable in any frost. But on one condition - if you do not sweat. Otherwise, linen with cotton or wool will get wet, and it will be even colder than normal clothes.

If your goal is skiing or skating, it is better to prefer fully synthetic underwear. Its function is not so much to keep warm (you are unlikely to freeze while you move intensively), but to remove moisture from the surface of the skin. Special synthetic fibers do not absorb moisture, but retain it on their surface and, as it were, "push" water out, leaving the body always dry. In such underwear, you will never feel the sweat flowing down your back.

Well, if you need to combine waiting in the cold with intense jogging, pay attention to. As a rule, it consists of two layers. The first is made mainly of natural materials - it is adjacent to the body and retains heat. The second layer is synthetic, which will protect against moisture. But remember, such underwear can be worn from 3 to 8 hours, after this time, the cotton or woolen components of the underwear will still be saturated with moisture.

Second skin

Do not look for "something freer." Lingerie should fit like a second skin, so if in doubt, it's best to choose a smaller size rather than a larger one.

And do not forget that thermal underwear needs proper care. Thermal underwear does not tolerate high temperatures! It must not be boiled, ironed, dried on a radiator or over a fire, it must not be dry-cleaned - all this can melt the synthetic fibers of the linen and the micropores in them will close. Wash clothes at a temperature of 30-40 degrees - by hand or in a machine on a gentle wash. Then let the water drain without wringing. Do not add softener to the water when washing - it will settle on the fabric and reduce the effectiveness of thermal underwear. It is enough to wash thermal underwear once a week.
