Macrame animal schemes. Preparatory work - what you need to know about the technique. "Owl" - a beautiful do-it-yourself panel made of threads

The macrame theme received a new round of development, when the modern generation "caught fire" by weaving baubles, funny key rings and "hippie" bags with long wide belts. Girls who still do not know how to weave themselves tend to catch up with the masters of this art form. The macrame weaving scheme for beginners will come to the rescue, which will speed up the process of introducing into the ranks of needlewomen. Even a few basic knots using the macrame technique will allow you to make the first interesting products.

Base nodes

First of all, you need to learn how to attach the threads to the base. The base can be a flat foam cushion, a wooden stick, a plastic ring, or the rope itself.

The fastening can be different, but the simplest is the fastening with the lock inward and with the lock outward.

The first view is performed as follows: the thread folded in half is placed behind the warp, and the middle of the thread in the form of a loop is bent to the front side.

The two free ends of the working thread are threaded into the resulting loop. The knot is tightening.

Fastening with a lock outward is done in the same way as inward. Only the position of the working thread changes.

A straight knot (Hercules) is knitted from two threads, first according to the principle of a lace on a boot, then the threads are interlaced again and tightened in a not quite standard way: two left and two right segments stretch in different directions. This knot has a crossbar on the left or right side (depending on which thread is leading).

The square knot is one of the main decorative elements in macrame. It is done on four threads, by double weaving and tightening into knots. First, a left-side knot is woven, then a right-side knot: this is how a square knot (or double flat) is obtained.

Several square knots, woven one after the other, form a chain.

If we only weave knots in one direction, we get a twisted chain. This technique is commonly used when weaving hanging planters.

The reps knot is also an important detail in almost any macrame work. Due to it, the wicker fabric is strengthened. He also participates in decorating the pattern with convex "grooves".

The reps knot can be either horizontal or vertical. The horizontal one is formed on four strands as shown in the photo.

The vertical rep knot repeats the horizontal one, but on a vertical base.

There are also diagonal rep knots. They look very impressive in the product.

Practice in the little things

Even knowing only a few basic nodes, you can already introduce a practical component into the theory.

For example, weave several multi-colored bracelets in square knots with beads or stones inserted between the weaves.

Or you can try to be puzzled by the pattern of the bracelet and weave it in accordance with the pattern. At the same time, it will be clear whether a beginner can read simple diagrams or if this will have to be given special attention.

You need to take two colored threads. Fold them in half and form a loop at the fold. This will be the clasp. A button is selected according to the diameter of the loop.

For convenience, the threads are fixed on a flat surface. From the loop, weaving begins with a simple knot to a length equal to the wrist.

After that, all the threads are collected with a reps knot into one bundle, the excess ends are trimmed.

Simple and cute. Or you can complicate the task and try to make a cute keychain in the form of an oak leaf according to the scheme.

To do this, you need to take two threads. Divide one of them in half and put it in the middle of the second thread with a simple fastening.

The warp threads are lowered to the center and two rep knots are woven. Further, with one rep knot, the warp threads are woven.

Two new threads are taken and the middle is pinned to the pillow along the edges from the first. Two rep nodes are formed on both sides.

One end is taken out of service. In the center of the product, the right warp thread is woven onto the left strand. The extreme threads on both sides are woven into braids, crossing in the middle.

The additional two threads are rejoined according to the same principle as the previous ones. Two more rows of reps nodes are formed.

Macrame - the technique of knotted weaving, was known in antiquity. This art originated in the east, and thanks to navigators it spread throughout the world. After all, weaving macrame is very strong, and the sailors had to weave nets and spliced cables. In addition, they often braided various structures of the ship with ropes.

20-30 years ago macrame was very popular in our country. This technique was used to make: keychains, handbags, clothes, tapestries ... Depending on the product, macrame patterns are simple and complex. Nowadays little attention is paid to this type of needlework.

For weaving macrame, you can use leather and fabric laces, sisal, twine, floss threads. The main requirement for the material is strength, because the durability of the product depends on it.

Today I will tell you about macrame for beginners .

For work you will need:

  • lace,
  • pillow (it is convenient to weave on it, but it is possible without it),
  • a few pins.

Macrame for beginners: flat simple knot

To begin with, I suggest you weave a simple macrame bracelet.

It is necessary: 2 twine, 1 - 1.4 m each.

1. Fold 2 ropes together, back off from the edge a distance equal to the planned length of the bracelet + 10 cm of reserve for knots. At the designated point, tie the strings to form a small loop (fastener). Check again if the length is sufficient.

2. Use a pin to secure the threads to the pillow. Put the short ends in the middle - this is the base, on the sides along the long end - working threads (they tie the knots).

Macrame is an ancient form of textile craft. It is based on tying knots. Ancient people used it to save and transmit information. There was even a knotted letter. And although products made in the macrame technique were found all over the world, China is still considered its homeland. This article provides a small amount of information about macrame. For novice needlewomen, this will be enough to get started.

Necessary materials

The main material for work is any thread. It can also be cords or even a clothesline. Only threads with a pile are not suitable, since their fluffiness will hide the entire relief of the pattern. Silk cords look nice but are too slippery. You will have to make a lot of effort to ensure that the knot created from this material holds well. So what makes the most successful macrame weaving? For beginner craftswomen, a cotton rope is suitable. It is easiest to make knots from it, and the drawing is seen especially clearly.

Also, in addition to the rope, you will need pins with balls at the ends, scissors and a centimeter to measure the length of the cord used. And also instructions for weaving using the macrame technique. A master class for beginners should be clear and understandable.

Take care of fixing your work. The base that you will use for this purpose should be stable and dense, but the pins are good to let through. If you are weaving small products, then a regular pillow may well suit you.

How do I prepare the thread?

In work, there are always two types of threads - a thread for the warp and a working thread. The main thread is the attachment point for work cords. It should be slightly longer in length than the width of your work. The edges of this thread are tied with ordinary knots and pinned to the base with pins. Cut the cords for work. They should be at least twice as long as the future product. It is usually difficult to determine the size of the working threads if you are just mastering macrame weaving. Schemes for beginner craftswomen contain the required dimensions.

Sometimes the threads are so long that they bring a lot of inconvenience to the process. Then they are wound on something like a coil and attached to the base. You can also use special bobbins or curlers for this, which have an elastic band. If suddenly at some point in weaving your thread suddenly ends, then you can easily lengthen it. To do this, cut it at a distance of 4 cm from the edge by about half. Do the same with the thread that you will attach. Lubricate the cut areas with glue and bond them together.

Basic knots in macrame technique for beginners

In the modern world, weaving from knots is used mainly for the purpose of making accessories. By learning how to do just a few types of knots, you can create wonderful things. Belts and capes made using this technique catch all eyes, and bags and wallets look especially original. Let's find out how to weave macrame for beginner craftswomen.

The most basic elements of the macrame technique are right-sided and left-sided flat knots, as well as a square knot, which is a sequential execution of the two previous ones. Such a knot was used by sailors to decorate something. For example, knife handles. Also, twisted and knot chains can be attributed to the basic elements.

Square knot

Secure two threads on the base so that you get four free edges. Take the thread on the far right, pass it over the two central ones and wind it under the left one. Then we stretch the one on the left under the central ones. We withdraw into the hole that formed between the right and central threads. The left should lie on top of the right. Now the thread that turned out to be on the right is drawn under the central ones and over the one that turned out to be on the left. The left one is laid on the central ones, after which it is drawn into the hole on the other side, under the right thread. Thus, a knot is obtained, called a square, with which you can weave a chain, and if you use only half of the knot, then your chain will twist.

Materials for a bracelet made using macrame technique

Let's consider how very simple it is to create bracelets for beginner needlewomen using the macrame technique. For our decoration we need a cord with a diameter of one millimeter, several beads with a hole about two millimeters in diameter, one large bead - about 1 cm in diameter. To correctly calculate how much cord we need, we need to decide how many centimeters the finished product will be in length, as well as how much is needed to tie the knots. To find out how much cord is needed to work, you need to add the length of the bracelet and the amount of material spent tying the knots, and multiply the result by 10.

Consider also the fact that the more beads you use, the less material you will need, and vice versa. You will also need a piece of cord to create the fastener. Taking this information into account, we determine that for the central part we need a piece with a length of 48 cm, and for the side parts - 175 cm.For the fastener - 25 cm.

Bracelet weaving instructions

Of the tools, you need scissors or nippers, tape for securing medium threads, and a folder with a clip to fix all the work. Anyway, such a design will allow you to move anywhere with your work.

Take the two main cords (48cm and 175cm) and line up the midpoints. At the same time, put the loop of the shorter one inside the loop of the long one. Now define the midpoint of the 25cm segment and fold it in half.

Pass the loop of this section through the loop formed by the two previous cords and bring the free ends of your future fastener through it. Secure this whole structure to a clip folder and tape the ends of the middle cord. This will greatly add convenience to your work. The entire bracelet is woven with the above described square macrame knot. The beginner's diagrams are also shown above.

Pre-determine how many knots will be located at the beginning, at the end and between the beads, and also choose the degree of tightening for yourself and try to perform it the same way. Otherwise, your bracelet will be uneven. Make several knots, then put on a bead and then alternate knots and beads in the order in which you intended. After putting on the last bead, weave as many knots as you did at the beginning. Now slide a large bead over all four cords. Don't forget to pre-try on the bracelet on your wrist. Tie a knot, cut the thread, and add a drop of glue for strength.

Making a clasp

Try on the bracelet again. This time you need to decide on the length of the fastener. Tie a knot on the section of the cord set aside for fastening the bracelet. To make the clasp adjustable, step back about 1.5 cm from the knot and tie another one. Cut the cord and secure with glue.

Having completed such a simple summer bracelet, you will perfectly understand how to weave macrame. For beginner needlewomen, this is a great workout.

Making it harder for beginners to learn macrame

After you get acquainted with the basics of macrame as a needlework option, you can slightly complicate your task and move on to more interesting products or jewelry. When traveling along the macrame course for beginners, do not leave planters for flower pots without your attention. Such an original product will certainly decorate and revitalize any room and will look good, even if it is made from an ordinary clothesline.

Weaving pots for a flower pot

Now we start creating the first pots using the macrame technique. The Beginner's Workshop below will help you with this. For work, you will need 6 ropes. Each of them should be 4 meters long. Fold them in half and define the center. Weave, using a square knot, 9 cm to one side and the other from the center. Now fold the resulting strip in half and wrap all the cords, connecting them in one bundle.

The next step is to create the suspension elements. Divide the entire bundle into three groups of cords. Each of them should consist of four ropes. Using one of the options for a flat knot, weave a twisted chain. Each of the three chains should be 70 cm long.

It remains to make a basket for the pot. We take two threads from adjacent chains and weave 2-4 square knots on them at a distance of 9 cm from the edge of the suspension elements. Then we take two more threads from the next ones and repeat everything. And so we continue weaving in a circle and down until the size of the height of the basket is suitable for your pot, which is supposed to be put there. When the desired size is reached, again collect all the cords in a bundle and wrap them together. Leave a small brush for beauty and cut off all unnecessary.

The art of weaving knots in Slavic culture was equated with pagan rites, because amulets and amulets were made using this technique. Nowadays macrame art has become not only fashionable, but also a practical hobby... Modern craftsmen combine weaving with beads, rhinestones and semi-precious stones. Let's try and learn this interesting technique on our own.

How to make macrame according to weaving patterns

Acquaintance with macrame weaving patterns for beginners

Not only panels and hammocks can be weaved using the knotted weaving technique. Craftswomen create earrings, necklaces, belts and lace to decorate items of clothing.

First you need to decide on the quality of the threads for weaving and take into account several nuances:

For work you will need a board or a book in landscape format. Some craftswomen attach the threads to a special tube or a small diameter barbell. But it takes some preparation to knot a canopy.

Macrame is a slightly forgotten technique that was very popular 40 years ago. Technology came to us from the East and appeared in our country at the beginning of the twentieth century. Macrame is a knotted weaving technique. Today there are hundreds of types of knots and their number is growing every day. Many knots are widely known, thanks to the navigators who actively used them.
Skillful craftswomen have learned to create beautiful and practical things: pots, belts, handbags, bookmarks, jewelry, baskets and even curtains.
Learning the macrame technique will not be difficult, because having mastered the basic knots and techniques, you can easily weave various gizmos.
Let's take a look at what you need to work.

Materials needed for weaving macrame:
Threads - there are special threads, they are sold in needlework stores. You can also use twine, soutache, braid, or thin rope.
Dressing needles or safety pins
Weaving pillow a very useful little thing that you can do yourself. But I'll tell you honestly that most craftswomen do without her. Weave on a regular pillow, sofa, armchair, whatever is more convenient.

Glue - PVA or stationery.
Lighter - in some cases it may be needed to singe the threads.
Scissors
Where to begin?
To begin with, you always need to determine the length of the threads, and this is easy to do: the length of the thread should be eight times longer than the product that you will weave. But much depends on the thickness of the thread, the thicker it is, the longer the threads should be.
If during weaving it turns out that the thread is too short - this is not a big deal, you can glue the thread. If the thread is thin, then we coat both ends with glue and put one on top of the other, press and leave the product until the glue dries. If the thread is thick, then you can trim the ends a little, as in the picture and glue it.

The number of threads must always be paired.
Any work begins with hanging the threads on the "carrier thread", which is pinned to the pillow.
There are two ways to hang the threads:
1. The thread must be folded in half, put on the carrier thread, then bend over it. Thread the loose ends of the thread into the loop and tighten.

2. We also fold the thread in half, put it under the carrier thread and bend the loop towards ourselves. Thread the ends of the thread into the loop and tighten.

Basic techniques in macrame:
Macrame flat knot, from which any macrame training begins. You can see this knot in many master classes as a square one.
To weave a knot, you need 4 threads. The diagram shows the principle of knot weaving.

In many works you may need checkerboard weave square knots how do you ask?
First row: square
Second row: you need to skip two threads on the right, and weave the knot on the next four threads.
Third row: Take two threads from the first row and two threads from the first knot of the second row.
And so on, in a checkerboard pattern.

Chain of flat knots:
To weave a chain, you need to weave a knot one under the other, in each row you need to weave one by one, starting from the left, then from the right.

Spiral chain:
It is woven in flat knots, one under the other. In each row, we begin to weave from the same side. At the expense of this, the chain will twist.

The chain is knotted, it can be either single or double.
Single is woven from two threads, and double from 4. The principle of weaving for them is the same:
We take the left thread with our left hand, draw the right thread around it and thread it into a loop. We hold the threaded thread in our right hand, circle the left thread around it and thread it into a loop, and so on.

Breeds
The principle is simple: weaving around one thread of all the other threads in double knots is called a brida. The extreme thread (right or left) is called nodular.
Draw the first thread around the knotted thread. As in the diagram and tightening. We got rep node.

Breeds are made up of rep knots that can be dragged horizontally or diagonally.

Braid:
In many works, you may need to beautifully finish the weaving of the product and collect the threads in a bun. And here the braid can come to the rescue.
This is done as follows: Cut off an additional thread, from 40 to 70 cm long, depending on the thickness of the thread and the desired width of the braid. We put one end of the thread along the future brush and make a loop, as in the photo:

The second end goes under the bundle of threads, we wind it from the bottom up several times with rather dense turns. And then we thread the working thread into a loop and pull the short end of the working thread at the bottom.

That's all for today, but to be continued….
