Master class on creating jewelry - a knitted mitten. How to crochet New Year's mittens Knitted mittens for the new year

It's getting colder and it's time to prepare for the winter holidays - we knit mittens for ourselves or as a gift. My name is Svetlana, I have been knitting mittens for a long time, I collect ornaments for them and draw new ones. For online, I chose a simple pattern with small broaches, which is repeated on the front and back of the mittens.
We choose threads. I often knit from the Turkish angora "Alize special" in 2 threads, knitting needles No. 1.5 or 2, but you may have other threads, the main thing is that they do not shed during washing and are of the same thickness (if one thread is thinner, then it will be lost in the picture.)

Let's start knitting. After a set of loops, we begin to knit a cuff.

M. K. We knit a collar on the cuff of mittens.
I have been knitting mittens for about 10 years and came to the conclusion that when knitting cuffs in this way, mittens hold better on the hand, there are more design options than when knitting a regular elastic band. I knit with thin knitting needles No. 2, 1.5, so you can have your own calculation of loops.

The holes in the fold are obtained by knitting: 2 loops together (front) and 1 yarn; in the next row - knit yarn over. It turns out neatly, you can tie the underturn by picking up sequentially 1 loop from 1 row and the last knitting them together in turn or then hem with a needle and thread.
1. Cast on 56 (60) sts - multiple of 4.
2.. Knit 8 rows in the round.
3. 9-row 2p. together 1 nikid.
.

4.10 row - 1 front, 1 yarn over, also front and 7 more rows of front: then the connecting row ...

We knit a pigtail "amulet" on mittens.
A hoop knitted on a mitten between an elastic band and a colored pattern was also a talisman.

The braid is knitted in 2 rows. Both threads before work.

1 row: knit purl loop in one color, knit the next purl with the second color. Repeat in turn, while twisting the threads in one direction, for example, upwards "away from you".

So that the "Step" does not work out when moving to the next row.

2nd row: place the colors on top of each other (to match). We knit the wrong loop with the first color, the second loop with the wrong second color. In this case, the twisting of the thread should go in the direction opposite to the first row "towards you".

If in the first row the twisting of the thread went up, then in the second row it went down.

3 row - we knit with facial loops.
4 row - add the required number of loops for the selected ornament.

If I cast on 56 (60) loops on the cuff, then 72 (76) on the main pattern
On the right and left mittens, you can change the direction of the pigtail.
We choose an ornament and begin to knit a mitten further. Good luck.
P.S For this, M.K. Used old photographs.

Mittens - amulets

Do you think that mittens protect your hands only from the cold? And here it is not. You are wrong. If you wear patterned mittens, be aware that you are wearing amulets that protect you from the interference of evil forces. It is now that we perceive the ornament on mittens as an ordinary pattern, but initially it was a combination of ancient Slavic symbols that have come down to us from time immemorial.
The tradition of decorating clothes with patterns originated a very long time ago. Even in pagan times, amulets were of great importance. And the best way to always have them with you was to embroider patterns on clothes. The secret and sequence of the image of symbols was inherited along with other secrets of women's needlework. The most richly and brightly decorated things were along the edges: collars, mittens, edges of clothes, sleeves, stockings. Over time, everything changed, some of the symbols were lost, but the main ones have survived to this day and have become for us just a beautiful embroidered pattern.

The meanings of various ornaments were passed down from mother to daughter. From generation to generation, they protected our ancestors from evil forces and helped them in a good deed.

People have always taken the elements of patterns in the nature around them, the habitat of the surrounding objects. Our ancestors never had ornaments just for decoration. For them, each element of the pattern carried a certain meaning, it was always a conditional, but understandable for everyone, depiction of the laws of nature - life, birth, death. We can say that the ornament is an ancient language of communication between people.
The circle meant the sun, the main deity of the pagans. Only the sun could protect the earth from dark forces.
Rhombus has always been considered a sign of fertility and femininity. If there is a dot in the middle of the rhombus, this is a sign of a sown field, fertilized land. This pattern denoted a wish for good and happiness in family life.
Rhombuses, embroidered or knitted with a chain, meant "tree of life".
A rhombus with extended sides protected from the intervention of dark forces. Not only clothes, but also Slavic houses were decorated with such a symbol.
The cross among the Slavs was a symbol of fire and the sun. Its ends were slightly bent.
Oblique lines meant rain beneficial for the fields, wavy - a symbol of the river.
The pattern "rope" or "zigzag", knitted on a mitten, was considered a wish for longevity.
The floral ornament is dominated by stylized branches, leaves, flowers and fruits of plants. Especially common is the "bump" pattern, denoting hops. It is a symbol of fun and joy.
There are patterns denoting fabulous animals or birds.

Basic colors of mittens
The traditional colors of mittens are divided into two categories: casual and festive. On mittens designed for everyday wear, the patterns were simple, and the colors were not bright - black, gray, sometimes white. But on the other hand, the festive mittens shone with colors. The most popular combinations were red-green, blue-and black-yellow, blue-and black-red. The border of patterns was knitted, as a rule, in red and white.
In the Russian North (Pomorye), the favorite combinations were orange and blue, yellow and purple, green and red. Given that the main dyes were herbs and tree bark, the colors were soft and calm. These were ochre-yellow with a tobacco green tint or red-brown.
Now woolen mittens have become brighter and more beautiful, but the tradition of embroidering them with patterns has remained. The festive colors of mittens please the eyes on a winter day, and the ancient symbolism of patterns protects us from trouble.

Our ancestors believed that evil forces could penetrate a person through the edges of clothing - sleeves, collars, mittens, stockings. To protect yourself from them, you need to decorate these places in a peculiar way - very brightly and inventively.

How to knit simple mittens for men and women with knitting needles without a seam?

simple unisex model of knitting mittens

Knit mittens for an adult without a pattern on 5 knitting needles, or in the so-called grandmother's way.

Choose for them:

  • front or back side
  • handkerchief pattern

And perform the cuffs with an elastic band 1x1, 2x2 or by alternating the front and back rows.

Before starting work, take measurements of your hands. Read in detail.

Work swatch for 10 sts and 10 rows in ribbing and basic pattern, and work inches into sts. Be sure to consider the multiplicity of 4 of the initial number of loops. Then on all the knitting needles you will have the same number of them.

The scheme for working on the furtive is knitting a pipe for the palm and fingers and separately for the big one.

The toe of mittens happens:

  • house
  • semicircular

The difference lies in the way the loops are reduced. In the first case - on the sides of the outer and inner parts of the mittens, in the second - through 1 loop throughout the entire row.

How to knit warm double mittens with knitting needles for men and women?

warm knitted double mittens not assembled

This model of mittens is many times warmer than single-layer ones.

To knit it, follow the steps:

  • choose yarn for the outer and inner layers. It would be nice if it came in a different color.
Thin mohair is also suitable for an outer mitten if you decide to decorate it with openwork motifs. And for the inside - wool or wool mixture, even from loose products,
  • to contrast the openwork pattern, make the inner mitten from a darker / lighter yarn than the outer one,
  • if you love braids and decide to tie them on the outside of the mittens, then only the front surface is enough for the inside,
  • take measurements and draw a diagram taking into account the difference in the parameters of the outer and inner mittens. The first is necessarily larger and wider than the second by 0.7-1 cm,
  • translate centimeters into loops and mark them on the diagram,
  • pick up the knitting needles and start knitting,
  • after completing the outer mitten, return to its first row on the cuff and crochet loops up. Keep working on the inside
  • consider the location of the thumb on the same side for the outer and inner halves of the mitten.

If you knit a double model, consisting of 2 independent mittens that are worn one on the second, any schemes and descriptions of work will suit you. Add your creativity and delight your hands with warmth.

Knitting mittens for lovers: photo, diagram with description

spring mittens for lovers with knitting needles with hearts

Interesting models of mittens for lovers attract needlewomen with originality of execution and a field for creativity in decorating.

Since a man and a woman in love are walking hand in hand, they need 3 mittens:

  • one per free hand
  • one big big

First, tie in different sizes, if the hands of a man and a woman are very different in parameters. Otherwise, the same mittens will do. Knitted items stretch well, so young people with almost the same hands will feel comfortable in them.

Do the second one like this:

  • tie the cuffs of 2 mittens either in series or in parallel with one thread,
  • combine both fabrics on the same knitting needles and go to the general circular knitting. Break the thread on one mitten, leaving a tail of 5 cm. There are models where the general knitting begins 3-5 cm after the cuff,
  • cut loops in the middle of the common fabric and then for the toe.

English gum gives the product warmth, volume. It is simple to perform, but requires the accuracy and care of the needlewoman during work.

To keep your mittens in shape and remain beautiful, knit them on 2 knitting needles, followed by stitching along the edge of the palm.

Main stages of work:

  • take measurements, knit control samples of the fabric and draw a diagram of mittens,
  • when loose knitting English gum, take knitting needles thinner than yarn,
  • so that the fabric of the mitten remains soft, work without edge loops,
  • Tie your thumb in stockinette stitch. For harmony, do the toe of the mittens with it,
  • crochet the mitten without over tightening the loops. So the seam will remain soft and will not interfere with you in the process of wearing.

Thanks to multiple weaves, arans look beautiful on a long canvas. Therefore, start knitting mittens with this pattern 15 cm below the wrist.

For example, insert rhombuses in the center of the canvas, and inside them is a “rice” pattern. So your mittens will acquire beauty and originality, and your hands will be warm.

Be careful with the preparation of yarn for such models. It needs more because of the multiple weaves of the loops.

Knitting mittens braid with shadow: pattern diagram with description

cute ready-made mittens with a braid pattern with a shadow lie on the table

Another three-dimensional pattern for warm mittens is braids with a shadow. There are fewer weaves in it than in the “braid”, and it also slightly compresses the canvas, but the beauty of the result will not leave the needlewoman indifferent.

Braids with a shadow are performed in 2 ways:

  • ordinary
  • "grandmother's"

The difference is in the frequency of rows with interlacing loops. In the first case - through the front row, in the second - in every 5th.

The pattern repeat is 12 loops, which is especially convenient for knitting mittens.

white mittens knitted from thick yarn

Choose a thick wool yarn for knitting warm men's and women's models of mittens and knitting needles to match it. That is, No. 5-7 and not thinner.

Select the main pattern from simple ones, for example, the front or back surface, figured facial patterns among the wrong ones.

Consider the knitting density of the control sample for calculating loops for mittens. Their total number will be very different from the usual use of ordinary yarn.

Elastic band for cuffs is also relevant for mittens made of thick thread.

Otherwise, the procedure is similar to any description that is understandable to you.

How to knit warm downy mohair mittens with knitting needles: pattern diagram

fluffy knitted mohair mittens on the hands of a girl

Goat wool in knitting threads is so soft and fluffy that you want to create warm mittens from it for the winter.

The thread itself is thinner, for example, acrylic or wool. Therefore, carefully select the knitting needles for her.

To knit beautiful mohair mittens, pay attention to the following points:

  • a large number of purl rows causes a pattern to fail on such yarn,
  • pattern. Openwork inserts are allowed. Due to the fluff of the yarn, your hands will still be warm,
  • knitting density. Keep it moderate without constriction.

Before starting work, you should carefully measure your hand so that your future product looks perfect.

What measurements should be taken before knitting mittens?

  • The girth of the brush along the line from index finger to little finger(we lead a centimeter tape along the bones).
  • From the beginning of the hand to the tip of the middle finger.
  • From little finger to wrist. The length of the thumb is also taken into account.
  • We measure distance between thumb and wrist.

Also, for your future masterpieces, you need to choose the appropriate size. There is a special glove size chart for men, women and children.

When you calculate the size of the mittens and measure the palm, you should take into account the thickness of the yarn and the size of the needles. If the knitting is dense enough, then a little more yarn is needed: when knitting mittens with plaits or braids, we take 30-40% more yarn e than required.

Yarn is calculated as follows:

  • for women's mittens - 100-120 g of yarn;
  • for children - 60-70 g of thread.

The table shows how many loops you need to cast on for knitting certain mittens. We start knitting with a brush and knit in a circle on 5 knitting needles . We knit cuffs with an elastic band- through one front and one back loops or 2 through 2. We turn to the knitting instructions for the cuff of the mittens for beginners.

  1. Loops we we collect on 2 knitting needles.
  2. Then divide the number of loops into 4 parts(equally) and throw on the knitting needles.
  3. Row of loops close in a circle and tie the ends threads to each other.
  4. The cuffs will be 5-7 cm.
  5. After you tie the cuffs, add one stitch on each needle.
  6. We knit the main part of the mittens to the area of the thumb.

Mittens with braids knitting needles: diagrams and description

In the process of knitting mittens, it is very important to correctly position the thumb. Thumb hole for right mitten will be on the third needle, for the left - on the fourth knitting needle. In the photo you can see a small master class on knitting a finger (one of the options).

  1. We knit a hole for the finger. On each needle you have the same number of loops, for example, 12. We knit the first loop on the third knitting needle, and we pin the next 10 with a pin.
  2. On the right knitting needle we throw air 10 loops(the same number of loops you removed on a pin). We knit the final 12 loop.
  3. We knit in a circle to the level of the little finger.
  4. Reduce the number of links: on the first and third spokes knit with perekida 2 loops(beginning), and on the second and fourth knitting needles we knit 2 joint loops for 2 upper shares (end).
  5. On every spoke reduce the number of links (through a row), until half of the loops remain on each needle (from the original number). Decrease the number of stitches on each row.
  6. When you have 8 stitches left, close the ring and tighten from the inside out.

Knit thumb

  1. We transfer the removed loops to the knitting needle.
  2. When we knitted air loops, we also got edge loops. We recruit from them new loops in an amount that is a multiple of 3.
  3. We distribute the loops on 3 knitting needles and knit in a circle to the tip of the nail. We decrease the loops, as described above (in paragraph 4).
  4. We collect the last 6 loops and tie from the inside.

These 2 patterns will help you master the technique of knitting braids.

You can decorate the branches of the Christmas tree with the help of your crochet skills. This master class presents the process of creating a small Santa Claus mitten. For work you will need yarn, a hook and a needle. Yarn is needed both thin (to create the mitten itself) and grass-type yarn to finish the edge of the mitten.

Stage 1. We collect 16 air loops (ch) on the hook.

Stage 2. We collect 3 lifting ch and knit a row of columns with 1 crochet (c1n) around the chain of ch. Having reached the tip of the chain of ch, it is worth doing a few s1n to the top of the last ch in the chain.

Stage 3. We tie a row of single crochets (sc) in the opposite direction, making 2 sc at the top (at the bend).

Stage 4. Again we knit 1 row of s1n over a row of sbn.

Stage 5 We knit the same detail of the future mitten.

Stage 6 We connect both parts and with the help of a hook we tie the edge of the two parts with the help of connecting posts, thereby fastening them. Using a needle, instead of a hook and tying, you can sew 2 parts together.

We stop tying along the edge 2 cm before the end. This must be done in order to knit a house for the thumb. Tying is carried out by the sequence - sbn, lush columns (ps), s1n. So, row after row, we knit a detail for the thumb to a certain height.

At the end, we knit several s1n with one vertex. This completes the knitting of the finger.

10 stage. With the help of grass-type yarn we tie the edge of the mitten. We do this with the help of c1n in several rows.
