For the last three years I have not dyed my hair and have delighted it with various delights of salon and home care to accelerate hair growth. But it wasn’t always like this - before, they had to endure any ill-considered ideas of their mistress, like dyeing them black and - oh my God - blonde. Considering this history, their length and strong relationship with the hair dryer, I went to Pavel Samodurov’s Beauty Studio with dry ends, the problem of eternal tangling and looming hair loss. Not the best set possible.

In the “Studio”, master Natalya Latysheva carried out diagnostics of the scalp and hair using this device, which magnifies the image many times:

After carefully examining everything, she came to the conclusion that everything was fine with my head: my skin was well-groomed, and several hairs grew from one follicle, that is, they were quite thick.

With her hand, Natalya shows the places where the stratum corneum is visible.

I was much more afraid of seeing the photo of the ends of my hair, thinking that a palm grove was about to open up to me, but there was no disaster here either. Rare white dots are places of creases.

Natalya suggested combining two hair treatments - scalp peeling to exfoliate and improve the conductivity of nutrients, plus an intensively restoring Nioxin mask. I was not familiar with this brand, but I heard a lot of reviews that new hair starts to grow like crazy. Let's check it out -).

The master applied the enzyme peeling along the partings to dry scalp and left for 10 minutes. I managed to feel a very slight cooling effect.

To wash it off, Natalya used shampoo from three-stage system. Nioxin has six sets for different hair types:

  • System 1 - for thin, uncolored hair, if there is no problem of hair loss or it is just emerging,
  • System 2 - for thin, uncolored hair that is noticeably thinning,
  • System 3 - for fine chemically treated hair, if there is no problem of hair loss or it is just emerging,
  • System 4 - for fine, chemically treated hair that is visibly thinning,
  • System 5 - medium to coarse hair, natural or colored, if there is no problem of hair loss, or it is just emerging,
  • System 6 - Medium to coarse hair, natural or colored, that is noticeably thinning.

Each includes shampoo, moisturizing conditioner and nourishing scalp mask. Of course, it’s better for a hairdresser to select the right type. For myself, I would choose No. 4, but Natalya said that it is better to prefer No. 3, after all, my hair loss is not at such an advanced stage.

After washing her hair, Natalya applied the intensively restorative Deep Repair Hair Masque, retreating about 10 centimeters from the roots. It is suitable for all hair types and is left on the hair for about 5 minutes.

For long hair, approximately this amount of product was needed.

And then - because for only 2-3 minutes - apply conditioner to the scalp from the same three-stage system. This is where the fun started. I felt cold. Or even not like that.. ho hoo hoooooood -) Vaguely similar to the one for which anti-cellulite masks and wraps are famous. The conditioner is suitable for daily use and improves blood circulation in the scalp due to the peppermint oil and menthol included in the composition.

Then Natalya washed off everything that was intended to revive my hair and re-diagnosed my scalp:

As a final step, the hairdresser applied a three-step system leave-in mask to the scalp. It is enriched with vitamins, antioxidants, plant extracts and the same peppermint oil.

The process itself inspired her no less than the result -)

We didn't use any styling products.

Voila, the result! The hair became very pleasant and soft to the touch, not like after, but like after a good mask. As a matter of fact, that’s what we did) It is recommended to repeat the peeling procedure every 30-45 days, but after just one time there was a pleasant feeling of freshness and volume at the roots. As a bonus, there is hope that all the beneficial substances contained in the nourishing scalp mask will reach their destination. I’m not sure that I’ll come back to repeat it in a month, but only because my scalp feels good - it rarely reacts with dandruff, and hair loss is not a problem.

But with great enthusiasm I will continue to use the three-step care system. After two weeks of home use, it is difficult to judge its effectiveness, but it inspires confidence in me. Firstly, a thorough approach to the scalp is reasonable, and secondly, the air conditioner continues to cool in a very taiga way -)

It was necessary to take action immediately! So I ended up with Klorane shampoo and conditioner in two forms at once: with quinine and with mango butter, and also for Toni & Guy Reconstruction Mask. In addition, I ordered it (I used it last year and the impressions were extremely positive), but it has not arrived to me yet. And finally I completely gave up the hair dryer and curling iron. “It won’t be enough!” — I thought, looking at my modest arsenal of products, and decided to use salon procedures. So I went to the Dessange salon.

I had master Anna. She carefully examined and felt the subject of my suffering and suggested the “Absolute Happiness for Hair” procedure. “Of course, I just need happiness!” - I thought and agreed.

“Before” - you can see with the naked eye that care is needed here and now

Care is done using Japanese Lebel brand products. Like all Japanese treatments, it seems to consist of 150 different products. In fact, I later counted - only out of 11. The procedure itself is already 7 years old, but, alas, I only got around to it now.

I was put on a white kimono robe, washed my hair, then applied Iau Cell Tune mousse to deeply cleanse and moisturize my scalp. It contains honey components and salicylic acid. Master Anna kindly showed how to whip the foam for the mousse with a small whisk.

Then the hair was dried a little with a hairdryer - and then the fun began. Consistently, carefully massaging, Anna applied 4 serums (without rinsing!):

  1. C - Lebel Proedit Care Works CMC— to prepare the penetration of subsequent agents (composition: nanoemulsifier-type SMS lipids, phytosterol, ceramide 2, ceramide 3, ceramide 6);
  2. N - Lebel Proedit Care Works NMF— for moisturizing and restoring water balance (composition: lycine, glutamine, glycine, leucine, histidine, serine, valine, alanine, isoleucine, phenylalonine, arginine, tyrosine, betaine, threonine, aniline, lactic acid, hyaluronic acid, glycerin);
  3. P - Lebel Proedit Care Works PPT— nutrition of hair with wheat and oat proteins for flexibility and thickening of hair (composition: keratin protein, wheat protein, silk protein, soy protein, glutamic acid, betaine);
  4. Lebel Proedit Care Works Element Fix— for fixing previous serums (composition: glycerin, butylene glycol, castor oil, hydrolyzed soy protein).

First battery of products: mousse and 4 serums

Anna handed me a cup of coffee, wrapped the whole “pie” in film and left it for 15 minutes. When both the coffee and the required time ran out, the master sat me down in the sink chair again.

I didn’t see what was happening there, but I know for sure: she applied another serum to prepare for intensive recovery, Iau Cell Fiber (composition: hydrolyzed soy protein, hydrolyzed elastin, lipidur 51, fibers, hydrolyzed keratin, arginine), then cream for deep moisturizing Iau Cell Serum Melt (No. 3M) (composition: SMS complex, glycerin, arginine, silk proteins, vitamin E, lactic acid) and, finally, Iau Cell Care 4 gel (composition: avocado oil, jojoba extract, macadamia oil , vitamin E, water film) to fix everything useful. And then I washed it all away. The master explained that the application of gel here is necessary to a greater extent so that the surface of the hair is supplemented with a moisture-retaining soft elastic coating. The aqueous film “locks” the applied ingredients inside and creates a protective coating.

All this time my head rested in the sink, and my back was pleasantly massaged by the chair. Combined with the light head massage that Anna did, the whole procedure was quite relaxing. I guess I could even take a nap, but I didn’t dare.

Second battery of rescue equipment

The final stage is Iau Essence Moist leave-in essence for deep hydration (composition: SMS complex, avocado oil, glycerin, shea butter, tremella extract (ice mushroom)). The master applied it to her hands and then to her hair.

The whole procedure took about an hour. After that, Anna handed me over to master Zarina, and she gave me amazing curls using a comb and a hairdryer, sprinkled a little hairspray on top, and the hairstyle lasted absolutely wonderfully for 2 days (!).

While styling, I kept trying to touch my hair and find out how it was. Smooth and soft to the touch. For me this is a significant result.

The most interesting thing, of course, is the result after washing. And I can say that it definitely is: the hair has become softer and more elastic. Unfortunately, it’s not so noticeable at the ends, but along the length I can quite feel the changes for the better. Even after the first wash, an amazing shine remained and this undoubtedly pleases, especially when you pass by the mirror -)

One procedure is of course not enough, so I'm going to continue.

My hair is naturally thin, medium density and curly. I, like all owners of fine hair, walk the edge all the time: a step towards hydration - the hair is weighed down and gets dirty quickly, a step towards volume - hello, dry ends. Therefore, choosing care, let alone salon procedures, has always been quite difficult for me.

In addition, over the past two months the condition of my hair has deteriorated significantly. They survived a lot of sun, a hike, a two-week course of antibiotics (it seems that I start every review by listing difficult life circumstances :)). A week ago I finished off the lying one with highlighting and coloring. Therefore, we have: very fluffy, thinning, rather dry hair in general and with very dry ends.

By the decision of the Beauty Insider editorial board, I went to the OblakaStudio salon for a restoration procedure using the Moroccanoil brand.

The hairdresser assessed my hair as quite dry (but not as bad as I thought) and thin. In this regard, we have chosen lighter care products. Moroccanoil has three series: for fine hair (with a white cap), for moderately damaged hair (with a black cap) and for very damaged hair, such as platinum blondes (with an orange cap). For me, we chose the lightweight series with a white lid.

The procedure itself consists of washing your hair with a moisturizing shampoo and then applying a mask mixed with oil.

Products to be used during the procedure: Moroccanoil Moisture Repair Shampoo, Moroccanoil Hydrating Treatment and Moroccanoil Weightless Hydrating Mask

First, the master washes my hair with moisturizing shampoo without sulfates and parabens (by the way, OblakaStudio has very comfortable washbasins that don’t make my neck stiff). Then she mixes the oil and mask in a 1:2 ratio and applies it to my hair. The hair is so dry that you have to mix and apply again: it literally “eats” the applied treatment.

An interesting detail: the master rubs the resulting mixture from the ends to the middle. This is done so that the oil gets directly under the hair scales that have opened after using shampoo, and does not just remain on the surface. After that, the remainder of the mixture was applied to me from the roots to the middle of my hair in the direction of its growth (at that moment my heart just sank: thin hair! oil! guard! :)) and left for 10 minutes so that everything was absorbed.

By the way, the hairdresser told me an interesting thing: Moroccanoil Hydrating Treatment (oil) can be applied before styling to additionally moisturize the ends, and during washing before shampoo, and after shampoo. It can also be applied to the skin, for example, to the elbows. Moisturizing is carried out through argan oil and dimethicone (this is a soluble silicone, that is, it does not cover the hair with a film). Not that I'm very worried about the lack of silicones, but I know there are people for whom it warms their souls :).

After 10 minutes, we wash off the treatment and begin drying and styling. It’s already clear that the hair has become more manageable, and it’s oh-so-very clear that it smells awesome! I wouldn't mind having a Moroccanoil scented perfume. It's such an oriental scent, but not heavy or too sweet.

The master also mixes the styling cream with the ubiquitous oil and applies it to the hair, combing the strands with his hands, and then styles the hair with a hairdryer and brush.

When the hair is dried and styled, you can sum up the care: it has definitely become more hydrated and manageable, smells nice and is not weighed down, smoother. But there is no wow effect. It happens that you leave the salon with the thoughts: “God, is this my hair, it’s so dense and shiny, and it seems like there’s more of it!” Here I came out with the understanding: yes, this is still my thin and sparse hair, just in a slightly improved version. This procedure definitely cannot save completely damaged hair, even if my dry ends remain dry (but lie more neatly and the dryness is gone along the length, and the fluff is smoothed out).

In general, this treatment is well suited as an addition to the main one. You definitely shouldn’t pin your hopes on it being resurrected from the ashes: by and large, it’s just washing your hair and applying a mask, which you can do at home. True, here you are pleasantly massaged on your head and given delicious tea :).

I think I would repeat this procedure if the price tag was lower and the OblakaStudio salon was located closer to the center or metro stations (otherwise it’s quite difficult to get to the salon on Nezhinskaya Street without a car).
