Bags decorated using decoupage technique. Decoupage on a bag. MK Nadezhda Lopatneva. The stages of designing such a house are

Tired of the usual plain bag and maybe you want to throw it away? Take your time! If you like its shape, then we will simply update the front of your bag and it will still serve you. We will use the decoupage technique in our work, the idea is simply wonderful.

You will need:

  • Bag made of artificial smooth leather;
  • Acrylic primer;
  • Glue for decoupage, you can PVA;
  • Clear acrylic lacquer;
  • Leatherette under a reptile or decoupage paper under a reptile;
  • Rice paper napkins in green, brown tones;
  • Napkins for decoupage with butterflies;
  • Thick foil;
  • Relief mat
  • Stationery knife;
  • Nail scissors;
  • Sponge;
  • Flat brush with soft bristles;
  • Sandpaper with the finest grit;
  • Organza ribbon brown;
  • Satin braid is light brown with a golden sheen;
  • Decorative cord light brown with a golden sheen;
  • Paper towels;
  • Hot glue;
  • Lanyard for suspension;
  • Glass beads of different sizes.

Before starting work, we will process all sides of the bag with sandpaper so that in further work the paints lay down well and firmly.

Wrap the top flap of our bag on the inside with a paper towel so as not to get dirty in the process.

Coat the entire surface of the bag with acrylic primer and let it dry. Only the handles and the inside of the valve will remain black.

Take the paper under the reptile and cut it to the size of the valve.

Then place a sheet of paper towel on the bag under the valve and cover the surface of the valve with glue.

Place a piece of paper on top and with a wet brush, smooth over the valve from the center to the edges. Squeeze out all air bubbles. If there are wrinkles, just wet the brush with glue and smooth them out.

Carefully cut off the excess paper, leaving half a centimeter at the bottom of the valve as in the photo below.

Apply glue to the rim and glue the edges of the paper inward. Gently smooth out so that there are no wrinkles.

Apply varnish on top and let dry.

In the meantime, cut out the details from the same paper to cover the remaining parts of the bag: back and front.

Now stick the cut out parts on the bag in the same way as we have now designed the valve.

Materials:

Master class: Decoupage of a leather bag

Materials: leather bag or leatherette; print on photo paper, napkin with a pattern or decoupage card; PVA glue or decoupage glue; acrylic paints white and black, flat synthetic brush; vitreous varnish; sponge for washing dishes.

Working time: 2 hours.

Difficulty: 2

We take an old boring bag, it is desirable that it is, of course, not very worn.

Choosing a motif for decoupage. It can be napkins with a pattern, a decoupage card, or just a printout on photographic paper. Photo paper should be the thinnest. I took pictures and printed them on photo paper.

We arrange the printouts the way we want them to look on the bag. Further cut off the edges of the picture. The torn edge gives us a smoother and more imperceptible transition from the picture itself to the base of the bag.

We outline our printouts with chalk. Next, we prime the places where we will glue the motifs with white acrylic paint. The white acrylic paint as a primer will highlight our drawings and prevent the dark background of the bag from showing through the drawing, it will remain bright.

The next step is to sand our printouts on the reverse side (for this we use the most common sandpaper up to 2k maximum). In this way, we make the paper thinner, we carefully sand the edges so that they are as thin as possible. Next, we lower the printout into the water for 2-3 minutes, part of the print paints will leave, but this should not scare you, the drawing itself will not fade much. When the paper is wet, it absorbs the glue better and thus adheres more securely to the bag.

Before attaching the printout to the intended places on bag, you need to well coat with decoupage glue (or PVA glue) the places highlighted with white paint and, without waiting for the glue to dry, apply a wet printout. When gluing the printout to the bag, glue the edges of the printout (already on top of the front side). Doing this is neat, because the paint starts to smudge a little. Next, cover the entire surface of the pattern with glue.

We press the pattern with a dry cloth and remove excess moisture and glue. Leave the bag to dry completely. Next, we need black acrylic paint and a sponge for washing dishes. We apply black paint to the sponge and begin to tint the edges of the picture.

Quite useful, because all the girls love a lot of new bags. And why spend money on their purchase every time, when you can make a fantastic decor to your taste and color! Well, well, let's see!

TO WORK YOU WILL NEED:

  • old bag
  • pattern printouts, napkins or decoupage cards
  • acrylic paints
  • PVA glue
  • brushes
  • Vitreous varnish
  • Sponges or sponges

So, we take a bag, it is desirable, of course, that it be in a more presentable form, without strong scuffs. We take decoupage cards, napkins or printed pictures on photographic paper. The most important thing is that the photo paper is the thinnest. We take a piece of chalk and circle the location of the drawings, then cover these places with white acrylic paint. We leave to dry.

DECOUPAGE BAGS WITH YOUR HANDS

In the meantime, take the skin and remove the extra layers of paper from the image. Pay special attention to the edges. Then we dip our printout in a bowl of water for 2-3 minutes. The image will fade a little, but do not be afraid. After varnishing, it will become brighter. In addition, a wet image will absorb a larger amount of PVA glue, which means that the pattern will stick more firmly. We take PVA glue and thoroughly coat the marked place on the bag. without waiting for the glue to dry, apply a wet printout and additionally cover the edges of the drawing with glue, covering the entire drawing. The main thing is to do everything quickly and accurately, because the pattern will begin to smear from prolonged exposure to glue. We take a dry rag and carefully pass over the surface of the picture. to remove excess moisture and glue. The main thing is not to fuss with a rag, but just to wet it.

Pour some black acrylic paint into a separate bowl (disposable plate), take a sponge or cut a small piece from a dish sponge. We dip the sponge into the paint and gently tint the edges of the picture. Then you can add decoration to your taste and color. We have added calligraphic inscriptions. After complete drying of all elements, the bag must be coated with vitreous varnish. It will not crack during the use of the bag.

DECOUPAGE BAGS READY!

WISH YOU GREAT SUCCESS IN YOUR WORK!

You can decorate such a beautiful roomy bag using decoupage technique after viewing the photo of the master class of the American Cathy.

Here is what she writes in the preface to her lesson: “I love bags, I like all kinds: clutches, chests, bags. I am so partial to these things that my family is already making fun of me. I have a satchel that stores my school work, a tote that stores tax information, a briefcase for business correspondence, etc. My husband teases me, but I don't care. My suitcases help organize things and papers in a way that suits me. I think you could say bags are my obsession, but I don't care. I always choose accessories that are original, products from the catalog do not appeal to me, my choice is unusual things.»

One day Pavel came home from school with a box full of old sheet music. He was very excited because there was a musical score of music related to the first world war, and he was going to use it in teaching a lesson on this time period. I spent some time looking at the gorgeous branded covers, on those lovely old papers. I immediately wanted to use these covers for my creative projects. See my photo master class and you can easily make decoupage on fabric and get a wonderful ladies' accessory from an ordinary canvas bag.

To decoupage a bag you will need:

  • karinka (printout)
  • acrylic primer

  • fabric bag

As for inexpensive domestic materials for decoupage on fabric, watch the video of Elena Perestoronina

Step 1. Buy or sew a fabric bag.

Step 2 Apply a thin layer of acrylic primer, Katie suggests covering the entire bag with primer to give it some stiffness. But if you have a sufficiently rigid, durable bag, you can only prime the place where you will stick the image.

Step 2. Take a suitable image and scan it.

Step 3 Print the picture on thin paper. If you have an inkjet printer, spray the image several times with strong hold hairspray, this must be done so that the image does not blur during further processing.

For details on how to do this, see

Step 4. Apply the primer again to the place where the picture is glued or to the entire bag. Dry the primer layer thoroughly, you can use a hair dryer. If you are not satisfied with the color of the fabric, paint it with acrylic paint, Katie tinted her mother-of-pearl paint over the entire surface.

Step 5. Glue the image using decoupage glue. Using acrylic paints you can apply light shadows around the drawing, this will make your work more solid and professional.

Step 6. After the work has dried, apply decoupage varnish on the picture, dry it. To fix the result, apply two more layers of varnish with intermediate drying. So you have decorated your bag using decoupage technique, but if you want more, see step 7. and additionally decorate the bag at your discretion. If you want to know what flowers can be made from fabric, see the master classes under the “flowers” label.

Well, Katie made herself a stylish bright bag, no one else will have one for sure. Decorate your bag and use it with pleasure!

Translation Korshunova Oksana specifically for the site:

Decorating any objects and products using decoupage technique is not difficult at all and very exciting. Today I want to show how you can transform a handbag with the help of decoupage.

So, I have a new handbag that I bought as a gift. The bag, of course, is cute, but I want to make my gift truly unique and original.

For a decoupage bag, I use decoupage glue on fabric, sharp scissors, wide brushes made of pony bristle and pile, matte acrylic varnish.

First, the surface of the product must be properly cleaned of contaminants and degreased. To do this, you can use alcohol or another suitable agent.

Then cut out the patterns you like from a decorative napkin. For work, we will use only the top paint layer, so the two white off-color layers of the napkin must be carefully removed.

When the drawings are prepared, they must be glued to the surface. I apply the motif to a dry surface and coat it with glue on top with a bristle brush. When gluing, I press the motifs tightly, but very carefully, trying not to stretch them too much. My handbag is small, so the work of decorating it is done very quickly.

After the drawings are glued, following the instructions of the manufacturer of decoupage glue, I leave my work to dry completely for a day. I highly recommend hiding the product somewhere far away for this time in order to protect yourself from the temptation to touch the motifs that have not yet dried.

A day later, I take out my purse from a secluded place and cover the surface with glued motifs with two layers of acrylic varnish with the help of a Pony pile brush. I let the work dry. My decoupage handbag is ready for a solemn presentation to its new owner!

In a similar way, you can update your old handbag, which is a pity to part with, as well as decorate any textile accessories.
