These poncho blouses are very comfortable and practical. The proposed model is designed for the age of 3-4 years. You can make your own calculation and knit such a poncho in the size you need using the attached knitting pattern.

The poncho consists of two parts, front and back, they fit the same way. The knitting pattern is very simple and understandable, the work will be within the power of a beginner needlewoman. To work, take a hook No. 3.5 and half-woolen threads in two twists. The diagram shows the direction of our knitting.

The beginning of knitting will be a chain of 57 air loops.

In the sixth loop to the left of the hook, we knit 5 columns with a crochet (CCH).

Such an element is called a "shell". We skip two loops of the pigtail, in the third we knit CCH.

To raise the next row, we knit three air loops with a pigtail. In the “shell” of the bottom row, in its third CCH, we knit a new “shell”. Over the CCH of the previous row, respectively, we knit a new CCH.

We knit 15 rows like this. We do not knit the 16th row to the end, we do not knit three “shells” and three CCHs. Turning our knitting, we make a new row, the same shortened one. So we knit 7 rows. Half of the poncho is ready.

We knit the second part in the same way, without changes. We sew the poncho on the shoulders, we tie the neck with two rows of RLS. We attach a fringe along the edges of the poncho, for which we cut the threads 15 cm long.

That's all, our elegant openwork, but very warm poncho for a young beauty is ready!

Poncho for girls

For ages 1 to 3
To knit a poncho with knitting needles, we need:
- 150 grams of white yarn (Gjestal Superwash Sport, 50 gr = 100 m);
- 200 gr. yarn “Grass” pink (Gjestal Orkide, 50 gr. = 85 m.);
- pink beads for decoration;
- knitting needles No. 2.5 and 3;
- hook number 3.
Description of knitting:
1. Dial 128 loops with white thread and knit in a circle with an elastic band 1 by 1 for about 12-14 cm of the neck;
2. Knit all stitches as follows: *purl 2, knit 6*. Repeat * 16 times. Knit in the same way 6 circular rows. [=128 stitches]
3. In the next row, knit the weave of braids and add 1 loop to the left and right of each braid: * 2 purl loops, 1 yarn over, remove 3 front loops on an additional knitting needle and place before work, 3 front loops, 3 front loops from an additional knitting needle , 1 yarn over *. Repeat * 16 times. [=160 stitches]
4. Knit the next 7 rows, repeating *purl 4, knit 6* (repeat * 16 times in each row) [= 160 loops]
5. Knit the weave of braids and add 1 loop to the left and right of each braid: * 4 purl loops, 1 yarn over, remove 3 front loops on an additional knitting needle and place before work, 3 front loops, 3 front loops from an additional knitting needle, 1 yarn over *. Repeat * 16 times. [=192 stitches]
6. Knit the next 7 rows, repeating *purl 6, knit 6* (repeat * 16 times on each row) [= 192 loops]
7. Knit the weave of the braids and add 1 loop to the left and right of each braid: * 6 purl loops, 1 yarn over, remove 3 front loops on an additional knitting needle and place before work, 3 front loops, 3 front loops from an additional knitting needle, 1 yarn over *. Repeat * 16 times. [=224 stitches]
8. Knit the next 7 rows, repeating *purl 8, knit 6* (repeat * 16 times on each row) [=224 loops]
9. Knit the weave of braids and add 1 loop to the left and right of each braid: * 8 purl loops, 1 yarn over, remove 3 front loops on an additional knitting needle and place before work, 3 front loops, 3 front loops from an additional knitting needle, 1 yarn over *. Repeat * 16 times. [=256 stitches]
10. Knit next 5 rows, repeating *purl 10, knit 6* (repeat * 16 times on each row) [=256 sts]
11. Next, knit according to the scheme, continuing to make increases in every 8th row.
Figure 1. The scheme of the transition from the pattern "Braids" to knitting "Grass" (click to enlarge)
Knit the “Bumps” pattern as follows (click on the picture to enlarge):
12. Divide all knitting into 4 parts (front, back, 2 sleeves) for 96 loops and knit each part separately, continuing to make increases, to the desired length.
In order for each part to turn out to be semicircular, it is necessary to knit in short rows, i.e. in each row, untie a few loops and start each next row with a crochet.
You can read more about knitting in short rows here.

Note!
1. The length of the product after knitting in short rows should be 3-4 cm less than the required length of the product in finished form, since then it will be necessary to knit several smoothing rows around the entire circumference of the product and crochet the product around the edge.
2. The back must be knitted 3-5 cm longer than the front.
13. After all parts of the poncho are knitted to the desired length, it is necessary to knit a smoothing row, connecting the yarn overs and adjacent loops together.
Note!
1. In order not to form holes between the loops on the left side of the back (front or sleeve), the yarn must be knitted together with the next loop, and on the right side - together with the previous one.
2. The smoothing row can pull the product together, so I recommend knitting together with the adjacent loop only every second yarn over.
14. Knit 3-4 more rows around the entire circumference of the poncho.
15. Close all loops (you can close the loops with a hook).
16. Crochet the poncho around the edge according to the scheme
17. Crochet flowers: close 3 air loops into a ring and knit 12 single crochets. Knit the second row, alternating single crochets and arches of 2 air loops.
18. Sew flowers along the edge of the poncho, decorate the product with beads.

Here is a coat knitted on Osinka http://club.osinka.ru/topic-92757?highlight

Here is a verbal description from Osinka.

For a child 3-4 years old with a height of about 100cm and a chest circumference of 54cm.
Souffle thread of Semenov yarn 292m in 100 g in two additions, knitting needles No. 5, knitting density is approximately 1.6 loops per cm, and 2 rows per 1 cm.
We knit the back and front shelves with one cloth, for this we collect 126 loops + 2 edge loops and start knitting:
Front row - hem, knit 6, knit 2 cross, * knit 12, knit 2 *, repeat ** 7 more times, knit 6, edge.
The purl row is the edge, we knit according to the pattern, we do not knit those loops that we crossed, the thread before work, the edge.
We knit further with the main pattern. Decrease evenly by two loops in each diamond for the first 15 cm of knitting. We get that in each rhombus there are not 12 loops, but 10. In total, 108 + 2 edges of the loops remain in the work.
At a height of 33-35 cm we make closures for the sleeves. Since the front bar is not in the middle, we distribute our 110 loops as follows: 33 loops on the left shelf, 56 on the back and 21 on the right shelf. work remains 44. In the left and right shelves on one side we make two times 3 decrease loops, as a result - the left shelf is 27 loops, and the right one is 15 loops. We knit the back - at a height of 11-12 cm we leave the middle 14 loops, and the remaining loops from the left and right (15 loops each) we knit another 2 cm and close. The total length from the beginning of the armhole to the shoulder is 13-14 cm. The right shelf is knitted entirely to this height. We knit the left shelf to a height of 10-11 cm, leave 12 loops on the extreme right, and knit the remaining 15 for another 3 cm and close. Sew the shoulder seams.
We begin to knit a collar. We take 12 loops from the left shelf, we collect 7 more loops to the shoulder seam, in total we get 19 loops from the left shelf, further along the back to the left 14 loops we collect 6 loops and after another 6 loops to the right shoulder seam and 7 more loops after the shoulder seam along right shelf. In total, we should have 52 loops. We knit them with an elastic band 2x2 about 10 cm and close. The collar is ready.
We knit planks. We collect 90 loops along the length of our coat and collar and knit with an elastic band 2x2 5 cm, leave holes for buttons on one of the strips.
Sleeves. We collect on knitting needles No. 3 in one thread 42 loops (40 elastic bands + 2 edges) and knit with an elastic band 2x2 10 cm, then go to knitting needles No. 5, add a second thread and knit with the main pattern. Every 6 rows we increase from both ends 1 loop 3 times and 1 time 1 loop through 8 rows. At a height of 25 cm from the gum, we begin to decrease twice 3 loops, once 2 loops, 5 times 1 loop and 3 times 2 loops. The remaining 12 loops are closed one-time. Sleeve length with elastic band about 45 cm.
We stitch the sleeves.

Knitted poncho for a girl (for the age of 1-3 years). Description of knitting

This poncho is crocheted as a present for little fashionista Ninochka on her first birthday.

To knit a poncho with knitting needles, we need:

150 grams of white yarn (Gjestal Superwash Sport, 50 gr = 100 m);
- 200 gr. yarn "Grass" pink (Gjestal Orkide, 50 gr. = 85 m.);
- pink beads for decoration;
- knitting needles No. 2.5 and 3;
- hook number 3.

Description of knitting:

1. Dial 128 loops with white thread and knit in a circle with an elastic band 1 by 1 for about 12-14 cm of the neck;

Figure 1. Scheme of the transition from the pattern "Braids" to knitting "Grass" (click to enlarge)

Knit the "Bumps" pattern as follows (click on the picture to enlarge):

You can read more about knitting in short rows.

Note!

Note!
1. To prevent holes from forming between the loops in left side the backs (front or sleeves) of the yarn must be knitted together with subsequent loop, and in right side- together with previous.
2. The smoothing row can pull the product together, so I recommend knitting only each with the adjacent loop second yarn over

14. Knit 3-4 more rows around the entire circumference of the poncho.

15. Close all loops (you can close the loops with a hook).

16. Crochet the poncho around the edge according to the pattern

Figure 2. Crochet tying pattern

17. Crochet flowers: close 3 air loops into a ring and knit 12 single crochets. Knit the second row, alternating single crochets and arches of 2 air loops.

18. Sew flowers along the edge of the poncho, decorate the product with beads.

Knitted poncho for girls is ready!

Advice:

In the place where the front (back) goes into the sleeve, sew buttons on the inside. So the poncho will not twist and it will be more convenient for the baby to move and bend over in it.
