Stylish set - DIY knitted hat and snood. Double wrap snood made of knitwear. Stylish set - do-it-yourself hat and snood made of knitwear Pattern of a knitted snood

This is a good opportunity for needlewomen to sew a fashionable hat with ears and a stocking cap from knitwear with their own hands. There is another option: a hat with ears can be made from thick woolen fabric, and a stocking hat can be made from any thick T-shirt. A children's stocking cap can be decorated with a knitted flower or appliqué.

This step-by-step tutorial will help you sew a soft, cozy and sophisticated hat with long ears. The hat is made of plain jersey with a fleece lining. Our master class and pattern will help you and tell you how to sew knitted hats with your own hands. The model of a hat with ears is 2016, all you need is desire and perseverance.

To work you will need:

  1. A piece of knitwear in light grey, gray or dark grey.
  2. A piece of light-colored fleece.
  3. 60-65 cm of cord of any color.
  4. Threads to match the color of the hat.
  5. Scissors.
  6. A sewing machine, or, failing that, a thin needle.
  7. A piece of dark-colored knitwear for edging the cord.

The circumference size (head volume) is 20 inches. An inch is 2.54 cm, which means the head volume is 51-52 cm.

Let's look at the pattern:

The height of the hat is 10 inches (24.5 cm) from the bottom edge of the eyelet to the top seam. The pattern needs to be tailored to your size. To do this, measure the circumference of the head and the height of the hat with a centimeter. Fold the knitwear in half, apply the pattern, pin it, and cut it out with a seam allowance of 0.7-0.9 mm.

We make a pattern on paper. Using the same pattern, we will also cut the fleece. Please note that the fleece should be 0.5-0.7 cm longer than the knitwear, we must sweep out the piping from the fleece, as in this photo:

From dark knitwear we cut out 2 strips for ties. The width of the strips is 3cm. Cut the cord, approximately 19 inches (47.5 cm). Divide the cord in half.

Sew the strips together and turn them right side out. We thread the cord inside the tie.

We sew the side seam, and gradually all the other seams, ironing them.

We trim the corners and also sew the seams of the hat.

Sew up all remaining seams and iron them. The shortest seam is in front.

Mark the location of the ties with chalk or pencil. We sew the main and lining together, inserting the ties. We leave a little space, do not make the stitching continuous, so that later we can turn the hat onto its face.

We turn it inside out and sew up the place through which we turned it inside out using hidden stitches. It will look good if you sweep out the edging, or just iron it.

Another hat, simple to make, but no less popular, is the stocking cap made of knitwear. Sewn with your own hands from purchased fabric or a cut thick T-shirt, it is indispensable in early autumn and spring. These hats are lightweight and take up little space in your bag or backpack. We will sew a hat from double knitwear.

To work you will need:

  1. A piece of knitwear.
  2. Scissors.
  3. Tailor's pins.
  4. Sewing machine.

Knitwear consumption for a double stocking cap for sizes 52-56 is 60/50 centimeters. The knitwear should be folded so that the wrong side is on the outside and the front side is on the inside.

We adjust the pattern to your sizes. You should have 4 of these paper pieces. In this work, the stocking cap is 28 cm by 45-46 cm wide. Making a pattern: place the paper pattern on the fabric and secure with pins. We outline with chalk, add 1 cm to the seam allowance, and cut out.

This is what we should get:

We remove the pattern, this is what we see:

We unfold the knitwear to its full width. Fold the fabric so that the front side is on the inside and the back side is on the outside.

We process the back seam using a machine or overlocker.

We move to the top part and sew the top of the hat.

Turn the work right side out.

We fold the hat in 2 layers, make sure that all the seams match, and pin it together. Machine sew the top seam. In this case, the back seam will be completely closed. All that remains is to turn out the stocking cap.

So the hat is sewn.

Children's hat-stocking

A children's stocking cap is sewn on a machine in the same way as an adult's. Only the pattern will be the same, but one size smaller. You yourself must measure the volume of the child’s head and the height of the hat with a centimeter, and make changes to the pattern.

How to sew a snood from knitwear?

    A snood scarf is just a great thing, as it is versatile and can be used as a hood. So, to sew a snood from knitwear we need the following:

    1) a piece of knitwear of your choice, 1 m long and 1.5 m wide;

    3) sewing machine.

    Sewing process

    You need to fold the fabric with the right side inward so as to get a rectangle measuring 0.5 meters 1.5 (fold along the transverse thread).

    As a result, you should get a kind of pipe with a length of 1.5 meters. Now you need to turn the product onto your face.

    Align this pipe so that the seam is centered. Then you need to fold the fabric, connecting the ends where the seam is.

    Now all that remains is to turn the snood over your face and close the pass. This can be done carefully either by hand or by machine.

    Everything is ready!

    A snood is a scarf with ends sewn together. Sewing it is quite simple, you need to take a knitted fabric, wrap the edges and sew the ends together, you will get a tube scarf. You can also knit a scarf on knitting needles, sew the ends and turn it into a snood.

    An accessory that has been fashionable for several seasons in a row can be easily and quickly sewn by yourself. At the same time, it will be more original and interesting than those bought in a store. I can suggest this method. At a fabric store, buy a piece of knitted fabric measuring 50cm*150cm. When choosing fabric, consider what you will wear the snood with, whether it will match well in texture and color.

    The sewing process is very simple, even a schoolgirl who knows how to sew on a machine can master it:

    • fold the fabric in half lengthwise with the right side inward;
    • sew the seam along the length;
    • connect the edges of the scarf by sewing a seam in a circle and leaving a small unstitched section to turn the pipe out;
    • Turn the scarf right side out and hand-stitch the unstitched area.

    Snood is ready!

    Very fashionable snoods can be sewn from knitwear, especially since nothing is simpler - the pattern is very easy and even a novice craftswoman can do it. I will present to your attention a master class on sewing a double-sided snood from knitwear:

    This is a very simple job for those who generally do sewing. You will need a piece of knitted fabric (not necessarily new, you can take something that is no longer worn for some reason) measuring half a meter by a meter. If the width is a little larger, it’s okay, but it’s better not to make it longer. The sewing principle is as follows:

    1. Fold the fabric in half with the wrong side out. The length at the edges is secured with pins.
    2. We sew the edges of the fabric on a machine. We leave approximately 4 - 5 centimeters unstitched at each end of the scarf.
    3. Now we need to turn our workpiece right side out.
    4. Twist it somewhere in the middle, preferably several times.
    5. The remaining free ends of the product are pinned from the inside out and stitched. It is necessary to leave a small gap so that you can sew it on your hands later.

    For knitted snood we will work:

    Option 1

    Knitted fabric, preferably thin. But you can also take openwork or angora.

    We cut out a rectangle 75x150cm (we take the full width, often knitted fabrics are 200cm wide)

    We process the edges along long cuts.

    We twist the fabric and carefully sew the short edges.

    Snood is ready.

    Option 2

    We will need an old sweater.

    Cut off the sleeves and neckline.

    We cut the side parts of our future snood in a straight line to the elastic band of the sweater.

    Sew up the side edges.

    We process the top edge. Our snood is ready!

    Sew a snood made of fabric is very simple. I'll tell you how I did it, if you allow. I sewed a double-sided snood so that I could create different looks. I took jersey - warm jersey with a pattern and plain. I chose black fabric with voluminous roses. The fabric is not thick, so you can sew easily. The snood will look beautiful on you and will not add unnecessary volume. Now we make two stripes. I had seventy centimeters of black fabric with a width of fifty. I decided that I would take the same amount of colored fabric. The result was two strips with a length of 140 centimeters. I sewed them together. First of all, I sewed a side stitch, and then stitched along the entire length. I left a little room to turn it inside out. Then we sew it together completely and can be worn by making three turns). Sometimes I switch fabrics. For example, roses on top, or black knitwear on top. depending on the image.

    You can also make beautiful knots on one side. It turns out very beautiful and unusual. If you like non-standard things, then you should definitely like it.

    A snood can be sewn from any knitted fabric, from an old wide and long scarf, or knitted or crocheted. So that it turns out to be a rectangle. The length can be at your discretion, from 1 to 1.5 meters, width from 75 to 85 cm. I knitted with knitting needles 1 meter long, 75 cm wide. We sew the prepared fabric from the wrong side in the shape of a pipe, then turn it inside out and sew the ends together. Snood is ready. It turns out to be a very comfortable and versatile item that can be used instead of a scarf or hood.

    It is not difficult to sew such a snood, but it looks amazingly beautiful.

    We decide on the dimensions of our product. Now fold the resulting rectangle so that the two long edges touch each other, back side up. We chop off the edges with needles and sew the entire long edge. If the fabric is very stretchy, use a zigzag stitch. We get a long pipe. Turn it inside out.

    Carefully hem the edges of our product and sew them together.

    A wonderfully beautiful snood is ready. It can be worn both instead of a hat and instead of a scarf. It also looks great just wrapped around the neck.

    In our time, snood was called trumpet. Snood can be sewn from knitted fabric.

    Pattern. Connect the parts to make a double-thick snood and sew it together.

    According to the diagram, make a snood that can be worn as a jacket. In the photo there is a snood in a regular sock and a snood on a mannequin as a jacket.

    And step by step in the photographs the entire stage of sewing a snood from knitted fabric is shown. Even a novice dressmaker can sew such a snood.

In many cases, the hackneyed expression “everything new is well forgotten old” sounds completely true. This also applies to what is now fashionable, which our mothers and grandmothers proudly called a scarf-collar. It looks like a closed ring. The snood scarf is gaining popularity again. And if you want to follow this trend, you should have this fashion accessory in your wardrobe. We will tell you how to sew a snood with your own hands.

How to sew a snood from knitwear?

To create a scarf, you will need a small piece of knitwear or an old item that you will not wear. The main thing is that the print on the fabric is interesting.

The snood pattern is very simple - it is a rectangle 1 m long and 50-60 cm wide.

Let's move on to how to properly sew a snood:

Well, the snood scarf is ready!

It can be decorated with additional details, for example, by sewing thin snood scarves to the main one.

How to sew a snood scarf simply and easily?

For the cold winter, we suggest you sew a snood scarf from... an old woolen sweater! Such a thing is sure to be found in every home. Even a fashionista who does not have machine sewing skills can create an original accessory.

So, cut off the sweater's sleeves, armholes, and top with neckline.

Colored scarves will never go out of style. The snood scarf (“collar”), known to our mothers as the “donut,” is especially popular now. We'll tell you how to sew a snood scarf with your own hands in this step-by-step master class.

Tools and materials Time: 1 hour Difficulty: 2/10

  • fabric (knitwear, fleece);
  • lace;
  • tape measure;
  • scissors;
  • threads

The snood scarf is becoming an increasingly popular accessory every day among fashionistas of all ages.

The popularity of snoods is explained by the fact that they look original, feminine and elegant. Plus, you can wear them with anything and any way you want. For example, folded in a figure eight, a V shape, or simply instead of a hood.

This scarf can be made from any fabric. In particular, from a piece of colored knitwear and lace, decorating them with braid. Accordingly, you will need scissors and thread. To measure identical pieces of fabric, a centimeter or ruler will not hurt.

Step-by-step master class

The finished snood scarf measures 36 cm by 152 cm.

Step 1: cut out the details

We cut out and cut out two identical blanks from lace fabric and knitwear - strips of 18x152 cm. Moreover, they must be the same length and width.

First of all, we make the knitted part of the snood.

Step 2: sew on the border

Then we make the outer border. To do this, we sew the braid in a circle.

We do the same with the lace part and make the second outer border with braid.

Step 3: sewing the parts

Then we fold the strips so that the braid is on the two outer sides. Sew the inner sides, that is, those without braid, together.

I bring to your attention a double snood scarf, it is sewn very quickly and easily. Almost like the headband from my master class >>

So, a snood scarf can be of different sizes, both in width and length, it all depends on the fabric and your desire.

We take a canvas measuring 160 by 70. Naturally, 160 is the length, and 70 is the width. If you often wear it on your head like a cap, I would recommend adding a little width. You can take a tape measure and measure from your forehead, over your head, to your desired neck length. You can add 5-8 cm to the front fold. This will be your width, which needs to be multiplied by two. Fold it in half with the front side facing inward and pin the place of the future seam.

We sew with a knitted stitch on an overlocker or sewing machine. Then we turn the right side out and connect the two open sections together, now you just need to sew these sections inside.

A small hole remains unsewn.

Which is easy to sew up using a needle and exactly the same thread that you will have by unraveling a little of the same fabric.

So the snood scarf is ready. Wear it and enjoy!

Using the same principle, you can make a double snood scarf from two different fabrics so that the scarf turns out to be double-sided. If you want, wear it on the red side with a black lapel, or if you want, wear it on the black side with a red lapel. And a two-color scarf looks beautiful on your neck. And if you want to make a thin airy snood scarf, one-sided, then we go the other way. We take fabric, (I have) 160 by 70. Fold it 80 by 70 wide and sew up a 70 cm seam.

Then we process the open cuts. It can be processed with an overlock, but it can also not be processed.

Then we take the threads from the unraveling of the same fabric, tighten them into the needle and begin to process the sections with our hands, bending them 2 times.

The main thing is to sew with a stitch that stretches, but when you sew this, it is better to immediately sew with a stretch. In the photo you can see how I stretch using my index finger.

I schematically show the seam that needs to be sewn with, as it stretches well. But you can also sew with other knitted hems, it doesn’t matter. The main thing is that the seam stretches the entire stretch of the scarf and does not tear or pull.

Here is the seam that is made from the inside out.

And this is the front side:

This scarf is not ready yet, I can’t show the result yet. But I think you understand the principle. I prefer double snoods, then you don't have to worry about a seam that might be visible. But there are so many people and so many opinions, everyone loves differently, so I decided to show a single one. You can process the edges using a cover-stitching machine, but such loose and voluminous knitwear looks more beautiful if processed by hand.

And this is a white snood scarf, sewn using the first method - double.

That's all, I'll be glad if it's useful to someone. Sew for yourself, your children and family.

As they say: autumn is not a reason to be sad. Autumn is a reason to wear a scarf. And since the leaves outside our window are turning yellow, it means it’s time. Therefore, it’s time to sit down at the sewing machine and sew yourself a fashionable new thing. And let it not be an ordinary scarf, but a bright, spectacular snood!

What is snood? This is a knitted scarf, sewn in the round. It is an excellent alternative to classic scarves: comfortable, practical, fashionable and unusual. Just what you need this fall.

1. Cut a rectangle 100 cm x 40 cm from knitted fabric. Its length may vary depending on your preferences or age category. For an adult, the length can be increased to 150 cm

2. Fold the resulting rectangle lengthwise with the right side inward and stitch

3. It turns out like this

4. Turn the product inside out and place the seam in the center, as shown in the photo

5. The future scarf needs to be sewn into a ring. To do this, connect face to face and stitch both edges in a circle. Make sure that the center seam meets evenly at both ends. Please note that the scarf is now turned right side out

6. Leave a small hole for turning inside out

7. Turn the product inside out and sew up the hole manually with a blind seam

The snood scarf is ready! Fold it into a figure eight

Note: the snood can be worn not only folded in half (figure eight), but also single. To do this, you need to reduce the original length by half.

For head sizes 54-56, you should take a cut 60 cm long and 50 cm wide. A lighter, demi-season (single-layer) option will require a cut 35 cm long + 5 cm for the hem at forehead level and 50 cm wide, respectively.
