The warmest winter overalls. What brand of overalls to buy a child for the winter

How to choose the right overalls for a child so that he is comfortable in it, not hot and not cold? What top fabric should be used for the overalls, what lining and insulation, if we are talking about the winter version. In this article, we will tell you what to look for when choosing a baby overalls.

Season

Depending on the season, overalls are divided into winter, demi-season (autumn-spring) and summer (sandboxes, bodysuits). Winter overalls should be warm and light. All fabrics from which children's overalls are made must be hypoallergenic and harmless.

Demi-season overalls are very often supplied with a detachable lining, which can be left at home on warmer days. Summer overalls are made from knitted and cotton fabrics. Sandboxes and bodysuits are designed for babies under 1 year old, so they must be sewn so as not to cause inconvenience to the child.

Material

The outer fabric of winter and demi-season overalls should be breathable and water-repellent. The seams of the top cover must be glued. The most common materials for the top cover of baby overalls are polyamide, cordura, nylon polyester and bologna.

These fabrics are impregnated with a special water-repellent composition, which makes them waterproof. However, such a fabric becomes airtight. It is not recommended to buy bologna overalls for toddlers and preschool children, as it is considered unhygienic.

Lining

Nylon, cotton and fleece are used as the lining of children's overalls. Fleece is a synthetic wool that does not absorb moisture and is a good conductor of heat. In addition, the fleece provides ventilation and removes condensation to the outside.

Nylon or polyamide is a man-made fiber that is ideal for baby overalls. Nylon or polyamide are lightweight, breathable fabrics that hold their shape and dry quickly.

Polyester, polyester and lavsan are polyester fibers. They are also breathable, keep their shape and do not require special care. However, polyester is inferior to nylon in quality.

It should be remembered that you can not buy synthetic-lined rompers for babies under 2 years old. Natural materials such as cotton and knitted wool are harmless and hypoallergenic, so they are ideal for lining baby rompers. However, natural wool can cause an allergenic reaction in a child.

Heaters

Heaters are natural and artificial. Artificial insulation includes a synthetic winterizer, which is considered durable and retains its shape. However, it is not suitable for cold winters.

The most popular insulation is artificial down, which retains heat well and does not absorb moisture, due to which it retains its thermal insulation properties even when wet. Artificial fluff is a harmless, environmentally friendly, hypoallergenic material.

Other synthetic insulations are also known, which are made from fibers in the form of balls, spirals and springs. The shape of the fibers allows air to pass through the existing cavities. Such heaters retain volume, do not absorb moisture and keep their shape.

However, for children, natural heaters are most preferred, although some of them may cause allergies in a child. The most popular natural insulation is goose down, which is characterized by its lightness, good thermal insulation characteristics and durability.

However, goose down is an allergenic material and takes a long time to dry. A child in goose down-filled overalls may feel hot in temperatures above -15 if he is very active.

Wool or sheepskin is a durable, high-quality hypoallergenic material. Wool keeps heat well, but is a heavy material, so overalls with such insulation are made mainly for children under the age of 1 year.

Membrane

The membrane is a thin film that is glued to the top fabric of the overalls. Also called a membrane is a protective impregnation, which is applied to the upper fabric of the overalls. The membrane is waterproof.

Membrane overalls maintain normal body temperature of the child in any weather. However, if an ice crust forms on the overalls, then the membrane loses all its properties. Therefore, it is not recommended to choose overalls for children with only one membrane.

Child's age

For a child up to six months, a bag-shaped jumpsuit with sleeves would be ideal. However, it is not suitable for older children. Therefore, a more practical option would be a transforming jumpsuit, which, by means of riveting at the bottom, turns from a bag into a regular jumpsuit.

For six-month-old children, one-piece overalls with two zippers should be chosen, which simplify dressing and undressing the child. It’s good if mittens and booties come with overalls. On the hood of the overalls for the baby should be ties that allow you to adjust it to the size of the head.

For a child who has already learned to walk, you should choose a jumpsuit with protective elastic bands on the sleeves and legs. It is also desirable that an elastic band pass along the waistline of the overalls, which protects the child's body from wind blowing.

For children aged 1.5 years, you can buy both one-piece and semi-overalls. Semi-overalls are trousers with shoulder straps, which are adjustable depending on the height of the child, and a jacket. For children over 5 years old, separate overalls are suitable, which are sets with insulated pants.

When choosing a jumpsuit for a six-month-old child, pay attention to the presence of a special strap that covers the zippers and protects from the wind. The collar of the jumpsuit should cover the neck of the baby. The lining of the overalls should be made of natural materials: wool or down.

Demi-season overalls

A demi-season overall for a child must be resistant to cold, moisture and wind. Such overalls are made of rubberized fabric or a water-repellent membrane. The lining of the demi-season overalls should be made of natural materials that retain heat and allow the body to breathe.

Bodysuit

Children's bodysuits are a kind of summer overalls. They are easy and comfortable to put on and take off. Bodysuits for children do not unfasten and fit snugly to the body, but do not leave marks on the skin of the baby. Children's bodysuits come with short and long sleeves.

The body completely covers the entire body of the child and does not move out, thereby protecting the delicate skin of the baby. Summer children's bodysuits are made of cotton or pure silk. These fabrics are breathable and hypoallergenic.

A swaddling bodysuit is a jumpsuit for a newborn baby with a fastener in front or on the side along the entire length. This bodysuit is easy to put on and take off from the baby, without causing him any inconvenience. The changing body is the most comfortable option for newborns up to 3 months old.

Bodysuits with buttons located on the shoulders are also comfortable. This arrangement of fasteners ensures a snug fit of the bodysuit to the neck of the baby. Bodysuit with a closed neck is great for walking in cool weather.

An inconvenient model is a children's bodysuit with a fastener on the back. It is advisable to choose such bodysuits for children who have already learned how to sit and walk on their own. Wrap-around bodysuits are convenient for quick dressing of the baby. However, the laces can cause discomfort to the child.

Overalls-sandman

Another type of children's summer overalls is a sandman. The sandman differs from the bodysuit in that its lower part consists of short pants. The sandbox is perfect for walking with a child in warm weather.

Sandboxes for children are made only from natural breathable fabrics. Sandbox fasteners can be located in the front, side and back, which makes it easy and quick to change your baby's clothes. The cut of the sandbox does not constrain the movements of the child and does not cause him any inconvenience when moving.

Helpful Hints

When choosing a jumpsuit, pay attention to the labels sewn into its inner seams. Check what material the overalls are made of, its lining and insulation, if any. The name of the heater must be clearly spelled out on the label. Also on the tag should be indicated the composition of the fabrics used in the manufacture of overalls.

If you do not understand the names of fabrics, contact the sales assistant, who should tell you about them. Also ask the seller what technology the insulation or lining is made of. High-quality overalls are accompanied by special books indicating the qualities and properties of all materials used.

If the label indicates a synthetic filler, then pay attention to the indicator of the permissible temperature that it can withstand. Usually this pointer varies from -10 to -40 degrees. When choosing a coverall, remember that the lighter the fibers of the synthetic fill, the lower the temperature at which it can be used.

When choosing a transforming overalls, give preference to those that have zippers on the sides to make it easier to change your baby. The design of the transforming overalls should cover all parts of the child's body and fit snugly to it.

When choosing a jumpsuit, you should remember that your baby should be comfortable in it not only in a calm position, but also during activity. The child should feel comfortable during the entire walk, which can last for hours.

Overalls must be appropriate for the height and age of the child. Overalls for newborns should be easy to put on and take off, and models for older children should not restrict their movements. Comfortable overalls with adjustable straps that can be pulled up to fit the baby's height.

When choosing a jumpsuit, be sure to check all fasteners, zippers and buttons for operability. They should be easy to fasten and unfasten without snagging. Wide-link plastic zippers on baby overalls are preferred as they do not rust and are durable.

The lining and liner should be easy to put on and take off. The materials from which the overalls are made must be not only of high quality, but also suitable for cleaning or washing.

Baby Romper Care Tips

Children's things get dirty quickly, so they often have to be cleaned or washed. It is impossible to soak overalls for a long time, especially winter ones, as the lining material can deteriorate, and the thing itself can sit down and lose its shape.

Overalls can only be washed by hand at a temperature of 30 degrees. It is impossible to use bleaches and conditioners during washing. After washing, winter and demi-season overalls must be thoroughly rinsed many times, as synthetic and natural lining materials and insulation absorb detergents strongly.

You can dry baby overalls only in a horizontal form, spreading it on a towel or fabric so that it does not shrink or deform. During drying, the overalls must be fluffed frequently. Dry overalls can be no more than 2 days. You can not dry the overalls with a battery.

You can also dry baby overalls on a special dryer, which can be installed directly in the bath so that the water flows into the basin. When all the water has drained, the dryer can be moved into the room, placing a towel or cloth under the overalls so that it dries thoroughly. Overalls can not be ironed and dried in a washing machine.

Overalls on the membrane are washed using special detergents. Such overalls can be washed in the machine only in the hand wash mode at a temperature of 30 degrees without soaking. After washing, the membrane overalls must be carefully wrung out by hand. Do not twist the overalls during the spin cycle so that it does not deform.

Fleece and nylon lined overalls require special care. These fabrics can be washed both by hand and in the washing machine in the delicate or gentle wash mode at a temperature not exceeding 40 degrees. Do not iron and dry in the washing machine. Fleece and nylon dry quickly and do not lose their shape.

The artificial down-lined overall can be washed frequently, as repeated washing does not affect its properties and qualities. After cleaning, the non-woven structure of artificial down regains its volume, lightness and thermal insulation properties.

Coveralls with a water-repellent coating can simply be wiped with a damp cloth as it gets dirty, then left for several hours to dry. For wet cleaning of children's overalls, it is also not recommended to use detergents, as they contain chemicals that are harmful to the child and can cause allergies.

We wish you a good choice!

A long time ago, overalls for children were stuffed with one or two heaters. Basically, the children wore fur coats and "did not dress up." Everything is changing, our life has become more intense, faster, brighter. It requires a sporty attitude to walks: the child is not just exposed to the street to breathe like a houseplant, it claims to be active and eco-friendly existence inside clothes.

Manufacturers of sports and tourist clothing use a variety of synthetic materials as insulation. Almost all of them originated from synthetic winterizer. It was experimentally established that jackets and sleeping bags made of dense synthetic winterizer quickly become unusable: they crumple when washed, do not warm, and the body in them, as a tourist or athlete wants, does not breathe, but fogs up. The synthetic winterizer does not conduct air well and poorly retains heat.

New heaters appeared: holofiber, tinsulate, fibertec ... And there were clothes for children that use these heaters. What to prefer? In what way will the child definitely not freeze? The advantage of synthetic insulation is that they are hypoallergenic, microorganisms (mites, etc.) do not start in them, and clothes with various “fibers” (“fiber” translates as “fiber”) inside keep their shape better, do not deform from washing, keeps heat in and keeps cold air out.

So, let's deal with heaters, without going into highly scientific jungle. Consider the aspects that are of interest to the average consumer who wants to comfortably dress their child.

Rule number one!

Don't be impressed by an incomprehensible name. The manufacturer, in an effort to capture the attention of the consumer, comes up with his own (trade) names for heaters. You need to carefully consider the label on the clothing itself. It indicates what materials were used for the outer fabric, lining and padding. Do not be surprised if you see the inscription: "insulation - polyester 100%". And where, you understand, is the very “fiberskin”, or “polyfiber”? Polyester is an illiterate reading of the English word polyether (polyester). In our country, the name "lavsan" is accepted. Almost any synthetic insulation consists of polyester fibers. Thus, on the label you will read what the material for the insulation is made of, and more detailed instructions or a sales assistant should tell you what the name of the insulation itself is, what technology it is made of, and what this technology gives. Products of reputable firms have a special booklet, where all materials are described in detail and their qualities are indicated.

Rule number two!

Designate strict preferences in choosing clothes and remember what your child is like on the street in winter (not for you and not for his grandmother, but for him). Is everything good with thermoregulation. Whether there is a syndrome of cold legs, how often he catches a cold. In children's colds, 80% is not the fault of the immune system, but the parents who do not know how to dress the child. As the classic said: there is no bad weather, but there are badly dressed people, in the case of children - improperly dressed. For example, a baby who often suffers from colds should never be wrapped up, and it is absolutely forbidden to wear thick hats and tie tight scarves. Will forgive even more often. Not a single seller will be able to explain to you whether your child will freeze in just such clothes. All synthetic fillers of the new generation work on the same principle: they retain heat well. Look for (ask) an indicator of the permissible temperature (up to -10 ° or up to -40 °).

Rule three and most important!

Remember that it is not the insulation that heats, but the air in its cavities. The lighter the fibers, the more cavities inside, the lower the temperature at which these garments can be used. The best thermal insulator is air.

On the label of a real down jacket should be written "down". This means that inside there is exactly down - eiderdown, swan or goose. 100% "down" is quite rare. Most often, feathers are added to it and they write “feather”. If the label says "cotton" - in front of you is not a down jacket, but just a jacket with a lining. The inscription "wool" indicates that there is woolen batting inside this jacket, and the word "polyester" or "waltern" denotes a synthetic winterizer or its modern varieties.

TYPES OF INSULATION

Sintepon

The synthetic winterizer is divided into two types: old (dense) and new (hollow). Both are made from polyester fibers. The fibers are bonded together thermally. Previously, the synthetic winterizer was laid in parallel layers. Because of this, he had very low rates of heat conservation and moisture conductivity. Now a dense synthetic winterizer (thick, adhesive) is used only in cheap products. In the new padding polyester, the fibers are not glued, but rather hold each other with silicone needles. Such insulation is more durable, does not lose its shape. But still, the synthetic winterizer continues to yield to modern inventions. After exposure to sweat and washing, it loses up to half the thickness. And it is not suitable for a cold winter - maximum, for temperatures up to -10 °. Therefore, it is better to buy overalls based on synthetic winterizer for demi-season. Very few modern firms now produce children's winter clothes on synthetic winterizer: some domestic factories, as well as firms in China and Poland. Our manufacturers in most cases order tailoring in China.

Care: Wash at 30°C using only mild detergents that do not contain bleach; do not soak or bleach.

Thinsulate

It is considered one of the best heaters at the moment, in terms of its heat-saving properties it is equal to fluff. Consisting of very fine fibers that perfectly retain heat, overalls and jackets on tinsulate are light, thin and warm. It does not deform when washed, it is able to warm in severe frosts. Clothes on tinsulate are sewn for athletes, oil workers, climbers. Usually clothes on tinsulate are not cheap. Permissible temperature regime for thinsulate: up to -30 °. Produces children's clothing on tinsulate firmKetch (Sweden). If you know others - please write in the comments to this article.

Holofiber, fiberskin, firetech, polyfiber, isosoft...

Synthetic insulation made from fibers shaped like balls, springs, etc. Balls, spirals or springs do not communicate with each other and contain cavities, so the product keeps its shape well. Clothing with holofiber or fibertec is not very expensive, it turns out the price-quality ratio: for a small price you buy a good overall that can withstand frosts down to -25 °.

It makes no sense to compare clothes on isosoft or holofiber: they have almost the same characteristics in terms of heat retention.

It cannot be argued that all new synthetic fillers are similar as twin brothers. Each filler is made using a special technology. But the consumer should not bother with scientific data, let's leave it to professionals. The description of any of the listed fillers will be as follows: “synthetic insulation, consisting of hollow and thin elastic fibers.

Fine fibers retain volume. Does not absorb moisture, breathes. Manufacturers themselves, most often, indicate in the instructions for the product: "insulation - 100% polyester, manufactured using the latest technologies." And that's it. And no "super-fibers".

It happens that manufacturers use a combination of different heaters or a combination of heaters and a membrane, this allows them to register a trade name for a “new” insulation. In terms of its properties, it will still differ little from the known ones.

Care: machine wash at 40°.

Baby overalls on polyester: Naughty (Isosoft, Russia), Etty-Detti (Isosoft, Russia),Kerry (isosoft, Finland),Donilo (holofiber, Russia),Gusti (isosoft, Canada), Gloria Jeans (polyfiber, Russia),Tilson (isosoft, Norway),Lemmi (fiberskin, Germany),Reima (isosoft, Finland).

Membrane

The membrane is either the thinnest film that is laminated (welded or glued using a special technology) to the upper fabric, or a special impregnation applied to the fabric.

On the inside, the film or impregnation can be protected by another layer of fabric.

What is the working principle of membranes? They have a structure in the form of a film with pores of the smallest sizes. Therefore, a drop simply does not pass through them. Membrane clothing must be waterproof and breathable. A layer of water on the outer fabric will prevent the membrane from working, no matter how steep it is.

By the way, contrary to the opinion that membrane clothing is the best option for athletes and hikers, professionals themselves do not seek to use it. With a heavy downpour, the membrane fabric will inevitably get wet, the same will happen if an ice crust forms on the clothes. Membrane helps wick away moisture as you move.

Therefore, for passive walks, it is necessary to choose clothes with insulation or a combination of membrane + insulation. Membrane clothes under the brands Gore-Tex and Sympatex have proven themselves better than others. These brands are nothing more than a patented name for a membrane made using special technologies.

It is not recommended to wear overalls with one membrane on long walks at temperatures below -15 ° and during snowfalls. The membrane will freeze and stop "breathing". It is pointless for a child under 1-1.5 years old to buy a jumpsuit on a membrane if he spends most of the walk in a stroller.

Care: it is highly desirable to use special powders for processing fabric with a membrane. Do not use bleach or powders with bleach when washing, as well as set a bunch of revolutions during the spin cycle. Ideally, it is better to squeeze with your hands. Can't be ironed. Sometimes garments with a membrane have taped seams for the best water resistance, in which case a wipe wash is suitable for them. However, manufacturers write that the membrane gets salted over time, so you need to wash the membrane, just do not be zealous.

Children's overalls on a "clean" membrane: Reimatec (Finland),LassieTeс (Finland),Ketch Babyoverall Teddy,Ketch Ski overall (Sweden).

NATURAL INSULATION

goose down

Corypheus among heaters. Lightweight, durable, withstands severe frosts, restores shape after crushing. The down of waterfowl has a natural lubrication, it does not allow moisture to be absorbed. The best down: eiderdown, then goose down. Duck down clothing is the cheapest and is not intended for frost. A properly sewn and lined with natural fluff thing weighs no more than half a kilogram and, when folded, can easily fit into a standard plastic bag. Unfortunately, down is a highly allergenic material, an ideal breeding ground for mites. Down clothes take a long time to dry. If you buy a down overall (envelope) for our Ural winter (not for moving to the north) - remember that an active child on the street will definitely be hot in it at temperatures above -15 °. Lyalka in a downy envelope will also have a hard time if winter produces the same demi-season temperatures as last year. Down products from well-known companies, as a rule, are of very high quality, they are unlikely to climb down with proper care, but they are also quite expensive.

Care: In order to keep the product looking its best, wash the product less frequently. We recommend washing in a soft mode, with a detergent without bleach at a temperature of 30 °. Machine washable. After washing, dry immediately and “break” pockets with fluff so that it does not fall off. Can't be ironed. Only tumble dry for a few hours at low temperatures is recommended.

Down suits for children: ilGufo (Italy), О`Hara (Canada),Chicco (Italy),Premaman (Belgium). "Arktiline" (Russia),Zera (Spain).

Wool

Or, the so-called sheepskin. Very durable, wear-resistant material. Microbes do not like wool, so it is considered a hypoallergenic insulation. Excellent heat retention down to -25°. It happens that the overalls are equipped with a removable liner made of sheep's wool, which is convenient for suspicious parents who think that the child is cold. The liner allows you to turn the jumpsuit into a demi-season option. Sheepskin overalls, due to their considerable weight, are now produced mainly only for children under one year old.

Care: Sheepskin clothing can be deformed from washing, so it is better to take it to dry cleaning.

Top Coat

Ideally, the outer fabric of the overalls should be breathable and water repellent. This will be told to you by the instruction attached to the overalls (or the sales assistant). It is desirable that the seams are taped in the clothes. Most often, the outer coating is made of polyamide treated with some kind of compound, in which case the fabric is durable and breathable.

!Quality winter overalls made of fabric that meets these conditions must not be washed at temperatures above 40 ° and powders with bleach must not be used!

Materials for external coatings

The most famous are Cordura and Nylon-Polyester fabrics impregnated with Teflon. Cordura is a high strength polyamide designed for extremely harsh environments. The surface of the fabric is protected by a Teflon® treatment. The Cordura material is completely waterproof.

Cordura inserts on the knees and buttocks of the overalls and trousers increase the durability and water resistance of the garment.

Teflon® - water-repellent impregnation, provides protection against rain and snow.

Nylon Polyester is a soft and very light blended fabric. It is based on the interweaving of two threads of different structure. This creates the effect of "chameleon": the fabric shimmers.

Nowadays, firms use high-strength materials for tailoring products. However, if a child rolls down slides or wallows in other ways every time for a walk, it is quite possible that the fabric will not stand up. Formed "bedsores" and abrasions.

Many people ask why to lay out a lot of money for the same Reimu. Most often, the matter is precisely in the stability of the top coating: the more complex the technology (high degree of water resistance, stability), the higher the price.

Lining

For its manufacture, materials such as nylon, cotton and fleece are taken.

Fleece is a synthetic wool that does not absorb moisture, but conducts it and retains heat well. There is a regular fleece, there is a high-quality fleece - for example, Polartec. Unlike natural fabrics (cotton), a good fleece provides the necessary ventilation in case of overheating and removes condensate to the outside.

Fleece will only work if you wear thermal underwear or a T-shirt with synthetics under it.

Many years ago, parents were afraid of synthetics. It was believed that the child should wear clothes made of natural fabrics. Modern synthetics are not ancient. It can and should be used for the best comfort in winter. The fleece may also contain a membrane.

Care: fleece is washed at a temperature not exceeding 40 °, using the modes for synthetics or gentle washing. Do not iron and dry in the washing machine.

Also, the lining is made of 100% nylon, it provides quick drying when machine washed and lightness of the product.

How to determine if a child is cold?

The "check the nose" myth is a misrepresentation of the medical advice "check the bridge of your nose". Remember that for the normal functioning of the nervous system and immunity in general, it is better for a child to be overcooled than overheated.

The child is NOT cold if he is outside in winter:

Cool (not icy) nose and cheeks (air is cold in winter, actually)

Cool (not icy) hands, back and buttocks (butt is not hot on its own, especially in girls due to natural features)

The child is OVERHEATED if he has:

On a walk, a constantly warm face, while on the street it is below -8 °

Too warm, almost hot back and neck

Very warm hands (hands and feet, these are such special parts of the body that, due to the characteristics of blood circulation, should be at “room” temperature)

How can you tell if it's cold?

On the neck, although this is not entirely correct. On the bridge of the nose and arm above the hand.

Icy feet (check if the shoes have become small or tight, this contributes to hypothermia)

Experience shows that a child will not be silent if he is cold. if he "does not notice" - this means that he is well.

Winter overalls for children up to a year

If your child is not yet walking, a convertible jumpsuit is ideal for him. This is a “2x1” jumpsuit, with a slight movement of the hand you can make it both a bag and separate legs. You can quickly undress and dress your child using the "bag". Experienced mothers know how difficult it is to hold a child in a "bag" in an upright position, the transformer allows you to "make legs" in time.

For a child under one year old, choose a jumpsuit made of sheepskin, down or polyester. It is important that the pressure on the back is perfectly even, so sets (separate overalls) are unsuitable for “sleeping” walks.

Down overalls are normal, but not the best option for a child under one year old. Cheap fluff will actively crawl out through the fabric, being a high-quality breeding ground for ticks. Even if it does not fit, there are a lot of holes in the down suit made with a sewing needle. Moisture gets inside through these holes from both sides. This also contributes to the development of microorganisms and, as a result, increased allergenicity of the product.

If you already have a jumpsuit with trousers, a whole bag of down or sheepskin will come in handy for a newborn in winter. It is convenient to use it for a balcony sleep, and on the street - a maximum of a month and a half. Then the child will have the right to ask where his arms and even legs are. It is better to buy an envelope with sleeves.

Deep sympathy is evoked by children stuffed into a closed stroller box and into a sheepskin envelope in winter weather down to -10 °. The current winters are quite mild, everyone probably remembers the shameless green grass on the lawns last December-January.

We put on a knitted blouse under a downy jumpsuit or an envelope - this is the maximum in any frost (the stroller box protects from the wind).

Under the overalls on polyester (isosoft, etc.), we put on clothes with an admixture of synthetics.

And do not forget about such a wonderful invention as fleece overalls and kits. They can be worn for walks in cold weather.

When buying a transforming jumpsuit, pay attention to the quality of the zippers: it is desirable that the zippers are on the sides and can be easily unfastened. Usually, fur booties and mittens are attached to the transformer: in the store, be sure to try to fasten them so that there are no problems with tight buttons at home. It is desirable that the structure of the overalls allows not to use a scarf.

Overalls-transformers are produced by firms: Etti-Detti (isosoft, Russia), Kids Comfort (sheepskin + synthetic winterizer, Russia), Arctic (sheepskin, Russia),KIKO (sheepskin, Russia),Chicco (down, Italy).

Winter overalls for children from a year

The choice of overalls for active walks or for the option "stroller + active walk".

1. A set or jumpsuit should not be thick. Leave this cute delusion to the grandmothers. Four layers of padding polyester keep heat much worse than one layer of isosoft or polyfiber. When moving, the child will sweat, this is a normal reaction of the body. Sweat is easily absorbed into the fabric. Should a child stop or sit after running in a stroller, he will instantly freeze, despite the five sweaters under the jacket.

2. Ideally, for a running child, you need to choose a jumpsuit made of waterproof and windproof fabric with taped seams. Lining - synthetic, it does not absorb body moisture. The structure of the overalls should allow not to use a scarf. A scarf is the worst gift for a sore throat. In young children, the body is designed in such a way that an uneven flow of blood to any parts of the body - and even in the cold - leads to illness. These diseases, ranging from innocent colds, haunt children in thick hats and thick scarves. The most "stressful" areas of clothing (buttocks, knees, shoulders - they have to withstand pressure and friction, and the shoulders often freeze) should be additionally insulated or reinforced with some material. A good hood has a drawstring at the front to keep the heat in. Be sure to check if the straps of the semi-suit are well regulated. On the sleeves of the jacket and on the trousers there should be rubber bands or cuffs.

3. Set or one-piece suit? Advantages of the kit: the ability to remove the jacket in the store or in the car. A second semi-overall is bought to the jacket, you can take it with you for a shift: if a child has soiled his pants with dirty snow, the jacket will most likely remain clean. Advantages of the jumpsuit: speed. A fidget child is difficult to pack into a kit. Choose yourself.

Membrane or isosoft, it doesn’t matter, clothes under overalls with non-natural filler should be made of the same non-natural fabrics. If your child was freezing in Reim or Naughty - remember what you put on underneath. Any natural underwear or sweatshirts absorb sweat, causing hypothermia. The use of woolen things is allowed - wool also conducts moisture to the upper layers of clothing. The current knitwear in most cases already contains synthetics. If funds allow, buy thermal underwear, at temperatures below -15 ° we put on fleece or acrylic on it.

Baby overalls or set - what to choose?

Despite such a huge selection of children's winter overalls, many parents prefer to buy separate sets - winter suits from jackets and trousers or semi-overalls with straps, because:

  1. Costume parts can be washed separately.
  2. Many suits come with sleeve and leg lengths that can be adjusted; from this follows the 3rd point.
  3. Children's overalls often cannot be bought for growth.

However, suits of the same brand will still cost more than overalls. Therefore, it is up to you to decide what to choose - more practical sets or warm, beautiful and comfortable overalls in which your children will look like little angels.

The article contains current prices at the time of publication.

Every mother knows firsthand that in the winter season the child must be dressed as comfortably and warmly as possible. Therefore, it is very important to approach the choice of winter things for the baby very responsibly. After all, despite the wide range of different things in the store, choosing the right winter overalls can be difficult.

What size to buy?

Many parents, when buying children's things, try to take things "for growth". This is due to the fact that children grow up quickly, and it becomes expensive to buy new things for them. However, try not to purchase winter overalls that will be noticeably larger than the child. Indeed, in this case, the baby will be uncomfortable in it - the arms and legs will constantly get confused inside a large space. Also, cold air, when it gets inside the clothes, will move freely inside the overalls, because of which the baby will freeze. It is recommended to purchase children's clothes that will be the size of the child for the next six months, and not more.

Winter overalls-transformers with removable fur are great for babies from 2-3 months to about a year and a half. One-piece overalls are best suited for children under two years old. After all, most of the time, moms and dads carry babies in their arms. Therefore, you will definitely be calm that the baby’s back will not be exposed, and he will not freeze. If you see a jumpsuit with membrane insulation in the store, then know that it is suitable for active walks. If your child sits in a sled for a long time, then the likelihood that the baby will freeze is high.

It is better to choose simple and inexpensive overalls.

When choosing them, you need to pay attention to the insulation. Down is one of the warmest insulators. It perfectly retains heat, but it is worth remembering that it is very difficult to wash things that have fluff inside, because if washed incorrectly, the fluff can begin to roll or crawl out. If the fabric from which the overalls or transforming overalls are sewn is of high quality and rather dense, then the fluff will not come out, but, as a rule, these overalls are heavy.

Artificial fillers are distinguished by the fact that overalls with them are easier to wash. After all, synthetic winterizer, holofiber and other materials retain their shape for a long time. It is also worth noting that the cost of overalls with artificial insulation is lower than that of models with down inside. Pay attention to the hood. If it is insulated, it will allow you to wear various hats in winter, which is very convenient. The outer fabric of the overalls should be such that you can easily wash dirt from it. After all, all children love to ride on a hill, wallow in the snow and do other “winter joys”, because of which outerwear can get dirty.

All sleeves and leg ends must be elasticated. This allows you to keep warm inside the overalls and easily tuck trousers into boots. If you buy clothes without elastic bands, you will notice how the cold will get into the sleeves and legs, which is undesirable for the health of the baby. Sleeves with double cuffs are perfect for winter walks in the most severe frosts. The neck of the overalls should be such that cold air does not get inside, the chin should have a protective bar. If you chose a hood with fur, then check if it comes unfastened. This is very important, because it is extremely undesirable to wash natural fur. All locks and buttons on outerwear should be easy to fasten and unfasten.

A little about color.

The color of the overalls should be such that the baby and his parents like him. Bright things for children always deserve special attention, because they look very beautiful, and in winter they also give a great mood for a walk. Many moms opt for neutral colors to be less branded.

Do not rush and buy the first available option. If you carefully examine the thing, then your purchase will bring joy to you and warmth to your baby!
