Lip scrubs: properties, recipes and application rules. Honey-lemon-sugar lip scrub. Rose petals for scrub

Carefully caring for the skin of the face, neck and hands, the most vulnerable and exposed to external influences, few people pay due attention to the skin of the lips. In most cases, it is only remembered when it becomes flaky and cracked. It is easier to provide proper care than to get rid of blemishes, and a lip scrub at home will help with this.

Peeling lips at home

The lips are one of the areas of the body surface where the sebaceous glands, which are responsible for natural hydration and nutrition, are absent, and the stratum corneum is extremely thin and transparent. Therefore, they tend to react so quickly and painfully to the slightest temperature fluctuations, solar radiation, wind, hard water, etc., by peeling.

To maintain a healthy and beautiful condition of the lips, it is important not only to protect them from external aggressive influences by means of balms, creams, hygienic lipsticks and similar products, but also to regularly exfoliate the lips. This procedure, by gently removing dead skin flakes, massaging, improving blood circulation, contributes to the fact that the lips become smooth, soft, velvety. In addition, a lip scrub at home helps nourish, hydrate the tissues, improve the color of the lips and give them natural swelling.

How to do lip exfoliation at home?

Not every scrub is suitable for sensitive and thin lip skin. The abrasive particles contained in such products can turn out to be too rough, aggressive, which can lead to irritation, redness, and bleeding. Lip peeling at home, the recipes for which are discussed below, should be very gentle and based on mild substances. Scrubbing ingredients can be found in every kitchen.

It is important to consider how to use the lip scrub correctly. To do this, you should adhere to the following recommendations:

  1. To prepare the skin for the perception of the scrub, a simple preparation is necessary - steaming, which can be carried out by applying a cotton pad soaked in hot water to the sponges for a couple of minutes.
  2. Apply the scrub only to dry skin with your fingers or a soft toothbrush.
  3. When applying the scrub, you should perform circular massages, and then movements in the same direction as the lipstick is applied, without applying strong pressure or stretching.
  4. After applying the scrubbing composition, it is worth waiting a little to let the beneficial substances take effect.
  5. After washing off the scrub with warm water, the lips should be dried with a napkin and applied with cream, or the like.
  6. You need to use the scrub 1-2 times a week.

You should refrain from the procedure if you have on the lips:

  • cracks;
  • jam;
  • wounds;
  • herpes sores.

Homemade lip scrubs - recipes

It is not difficult to make a good lip scrub at home. You can even cook it for a couple of weeks for future use and, by placing it in a jar with a lid (for example, from a cream), store it in the refrigerator. Here are some popular ways to make a lip scrub, but all recipes can be modified and supplemented by experimenting with different ingredients and choosing the mixtures to which your skin will respond best.

Sugar lip scrub

Due to the fact that sugar dissolves quickly in a liquid medium, it can be an excellent soft abrasive scrub base. You can use both regular white sugar and brown sugar, i.e. unrefined. It is best to use fatty vegetable oils rich in antioxidants, vitamins, microelements as additional ingredients for nourishing and moisturizing tissues. We suggest trying a sugar lip scrub according to the following recipe, in which lemon juice is added to enhance exfoliating properties.

Sugar lemon scrub

Ingredients:

  • sugar - 3 teaspoons;
  • olive oil - 1 teaspoon;
  • lemon juice - 1 teaspoon.

Preparation and application:

  1. Combine and mix the ingredients.
  2. Apply, slightly warming, on the lips, massage.
  3. Wash off after 0.5 - 1 minute.

Honey lip scrub

The honey scrub is especially recommended for very problematic lip skin that has undergone severe dryness. Honey, possessing powerful bactericidal, regenerating and emollient properties, will help to quickly restore a well-groomed look to the sponges. And if you use not fresh and not melted, but candied honey, it will also help exfoliate dead cells. The recommended do-it-yourself honey-based lip scrub can be supplemented with oat flour, which also has a lot of useful properties.

Honey oat scrub

Ingredients:

  • honey - 1 teaspoon;
  • oatmeal - 1 tsp. spoon.

  1. Grind the flakes in a coffee grinder.
  2. Add honey, stir.
  3. Warm up the composition and rub into the skin of the lips.
  4. Wash off after five minutes.

Lip scrub with honey and sugar

A very simple lip scrub at home can be made from sugar and liquid honey, taken in a 1: 2 ratio. By adding only a couple of components to it, which are also available, you can enhance the benefits of the tool. So, adding a little almond oil, we get an excellent nutritional and rejuvenating mixture, and adding cinnamon, we give the scrub the ability to slightly increase the volume of the lips.

Recipe remedy

Ingredients:

  • honey - 1 teaspoon;
  • granulated sugar - 0.5 tsp. spoons;
  • ground cinnamon - a small pinch.

Preparation and application:

  1. Connect the components.
  2. Apply the heated composition, massage.
  3. Wash off after 2 - 3 minutes.

Coffee lip scrub

When preparing a lip scrub from coffee, you should not take freshly ground coffee, it is better to use sleeping grounds, which have a more delicate effect. The coffee scrub for lips, the recipe of which is as easy as shelling pears, will add firmness and elasticity to the lips due to the tonic effect of caffeine. We suggest using fatty sour cream as a nutritional basis, but in this case, the composition cannot be stored.

Coffee scrub

Of course, you can buy ready-made cosmetics, or you can make lip scrubs at home - from coffee, sugar, honey and other natural ingredients.

Soft, voluminous, seductive tender lips - which girl would refuse such?

And the man's chapped chapped lips do not paint at all.

Therefore, in order to restore the skin softness and smoothness, peelings are necessary from time to time.

In this article, we have collected 15 of the best homemade cosmetics recipes.

How to make a lip scrub at home?

To make a homemade lip scrub, you need to mix scrubbing particles and an emollient component.

Usually, sugar or salt, semolina, coffee, poppy seeds and amaranth are used as abrasive (scrubbing) particles.

In addition to mechanical exfoliation, components that act on the skin with acid are often used - citric, cranberry, viburnum juice, honey and kefir, tartaric acid.

As a result, we get an effective, but not aggressive substance.

We strive to slightly stimulate blood circulation and cell renewal of the delicate skin of the lips and do not want to damage them at all.

You have a dozen ingredients for a scrub in your kitchen.

Reviews of homemade lip scrubs made from honey, sugar and other improvised products confirm the effectiveness and safety of such products.

And as a bonus, you get the opportunity to control the quality of all components - after all, you will make the scrub with your own hands.

In addition, natural home cosmetics are cheaper than industrial "chemistry".

But it is important to remember that the skin of the lips is thin and can react violently to irritants.

Be careful not to overdo it - it is better to repeat the procedure several times throughout the month than to try and rub your lips with all your might, hoping to do it in one go.

How to use homemade lip scrubs

By making a homemade lip scrub for volume, you can get beautiful, plump and soft lips.

But if you rub too much, the skin is injured, the lips will begin to dry out and crack. And the most diligent can even damage the skin - "wipe it to holes."

How is the procedure going:

  1. Before the procedure, it is a good idea to steam the skin - to do this, put a damp warm napkin on your lips for 15-20 minutes.
  2. You need to apply the scrub gently, without rubbing it in or stretching the skin.
  3. After application, leave the mixture on your lips for a few minutes more - so that the skin has time to absorb all the "benefits" that you added to the scrub.
  4. Rinse off the scrub with warm water, gently massaging the skin.
  5. At the end of the procedure, pat dry your lips with a towel and apply nourishing cream liberally immediately.

Use scrubs correctly

You can apply scrubs with your fingertips, or a soft-bristled toothbrush is perfect for a light massage.

If you don't have one, massage the skin with your fingertips, being careful not to stretch it.

Regardless of what you massage your lips with, try not to press hard on the skin.

Tip: do not do the procedure too often - even gentle formulations dry out and thin the skin with frequent use. Once a week is enough to keep the sponges tidy.

The scrub should be felt, but not cause unpleasant and even more painful sensations.

In addition to scrubs, don't forget about other lip care methods.

Use hygienic lipstick, regularly apply moisturizers and nourishing creams to the skin around your lips, and make masks for your lips 1-2 times a week.

On well-groomed skin and cosmetics it fits better - even the most expensive lipstick on chapped lips looks ugly.

Undoubtedly, every woman dreams of beautiful, soft and gentle lips. To achieve such beauty, you need regular care for them. Cracked and peeling skin cannot be masked with layers of lipsticks and glosses, but on the contrary, you can further highlight it. And will a girl feel comfortable and confident with such makeup? The lips should be healthy by themselves. Only then will they be beautiful, regardless of the color of the lipstick or gloss.

Salon treatments are very expensive and not as safe and natural as at home. Naturally, if a girl wants to have seductive lips, she will have to take time for their care regularly. Today air, water, weather conditions every day impede the long-term preservation of healthy skin. Therefore, many girls are in no hurry to instantly run to the salon at the first crack. They use old folk remedies and recipes. Indeed, centuries ago, women somehow could maintain beauty and health without expensive salon procedures, and they had many times more work than the modern generation.

Many recycled scrub recipes can still be purchased at the pharmacy or grocery store, but will they be just as effective if they are natural? Lip scrub should not scratch the skin with large particles, cause irritation, allergies due to the presence of chemical components in the composition.

The best option is a homemade lip scrub.
No problems and difficulties will arise with its preparation at home. For this, products of daily use are used, and not special and rare components.

Destination options

There are a lot of options, but all scrubs can be divided according to their purpose:

  • with the aim of preventing cracks on the lips;
  • nutritious;
  • moisturizing;
  • exfoliating;
  • cleansing;
  • peeling scrubs.

All these recipes have in common is the way they are applied. Almost all scrubs need to be used carefully so as not to scratch the delicate skin of the lips. Apply, massage, rinse with wet fingers, moisturize with balm.

Preventive Homemade Lip Scrubs

The most basic and preventive recipe is regular sugar added to our usual lip balm. The resulting mixture should be applied to the skin of the lips and massage it a little for a couple of minutes left and right, in a circle. Then, with the help of a damp cloth, remove the remaining scrub and moisturize the lips with a regular balm.

To prepare this recipe, you will need one teaspoon of sugar (without a slide) and one tablespoon of honey.
Mix sugar and honey until a homogeneous thick consistency, heat for 1 minute in a microwave oven. The mixture should turn out to be a little thin. Apply to the skin of the lips and rub it lightly for 2-3 minutes.

For the first recipe, you need a little olive oil, honey and coffee grounds.
Mix everything thoroughly until smooth and apply on lips. Massage them lightly in a circular motion and wipe off gently with damp fingers. Apply a moisturizing balm.

For the second recipe, you need to prepare honey, sugar, orange essential oil. If you are afraid of allergic reactions, it is better to skip this option. Allergies can occur, most often, if a person has some kind of chronic illness. It is recommended to add a couple of drops of citrus essential oil (orange, grapefruit) to this recipe, due to which the lips will absorb much more nutrients. This scrub will not only saturate the lips, but also cleanse them well.

The third recipe is to dissolve the coffee grounds in 20 grams of sour cream, cream or kefir, but not milk. The recipe is elementary in preparation and, moreover, deeply moisturizes.

Moisturizing, cleansing homemade lip scrubs

Soak the crushed oatmeal in any vegetable oil you have on hand (olive oil is preferred). Apply to lips and massage gently. Wash off with water at room temperature and then apply a greasy cream.

According to another recipe, mix oatmeal powder with honey or liquid cottage cheese. Using such a recipe, you first have to make a compress lotion: cover your lips with a napkin dipped in hot water. Leave for 3-5 minutes. After, apply the prepared mixture. In this case, wipe the lips in a circle from the corners to the center.

Semolina particles perfectly pull off dead skin cells from the lips.
For cooking, you need to mix half a teaspoon of honey with 2 teaspoons of semolina. Apply the scrub to lips, massage and wipe off with wet fingers. Be sure to apply a moisturizing balm or cream.

Home scrub-peeling for lips

A homemade aspirin scrub is a good substitute for an alpha hydroxy acid salon scrub.
To do this, you need to mix a crushed aspirin tablet with half a teaspoon of sugar (it is very good if you have cane sugar, its small particles exfoliate better). Add glycerin liquid and jojoba oil to the dry mixture. Apply the prepared mixture in the same way as other scrubs.

Video: preparing a lip scrub at home

Maintaining the health and beauty of lips at home will take much less time and money than in a salon. The recipes are distinguished by their simplicity in preparation using, at first glance, common food products, but very healthy.

The lips are considered to be the sexual part of the female body. They attract the eye, make you want to kiss. However, the above can be achieved if you take complex care of your lip skin. One of the most common methods is the use of scrubs based on honey, coffee, almonds, cottage cheese and other available ingredients. Let's consider the current recipes in order, highlight the main aspects, and give practical recommendations.

Contraindications to the use of scrubs

  • bleeding lips as a result of chapping;
  • individual intolerance to the components;
  • active phase of herpes;
  • recovery period after lip augmentation.

Lip peeling rules

The scrub will act much more efficiently if you follow the elementary rules and do not violate the technology.

  1. Preparation is very important when scrubbing lips. Before the actual procedure, steam the skin by attaching a cotton towel soaked in hot water to it. Such a move will soften the epidermis, as a result of which the keratinized particles are removed many times faster.
  2. After softening the dermis, select the composition you like. Apply it exclusively on dry lips, otherwise the mass may spread and lose its properties.
  3. Scrubbing should be done with massage movements. Do not press on your lips, do not try to pull off flakes of skin. It is enough to scoop up a little of the composition on your fingertips, and then, with light circular movements, walk along the lips and the area around them.
  4. The recipes described below can be used not only as scrubs, but also as masks. Some girls prefer to first soak the product for about 5-10 minutes, and then start exfoliating.
  5. After the procedure, you do not need to wipe your lips, gently blot them with a towel without unnecessary friction. Then apply a conditioning balm, chapstick, or any natural oil.
  6. To keep your skin from cracking and drying out during the winter season, use a scrubs that are nourishing ingredients. These include natural oils, chocolate, aloe vera, cream. In this case, the product must be used before bedtime, and then washed off.
  7. The recommended frequency of peeling varies from 2 to 3 times a week. Already after 10 days, the skin will become soft, without scales, cracks, excessive dryness.
  8. To protect your lips from direct exposure to ultraviolet radiation in the summer and when visiting a tanning bed, scrub with sugar or coffee, then use chapstick.
  9. If for some reason you are forced to go outside after applying the scrub, be sure to protect your lips from chapping and dryness. For these purposes, a nourishing balm or cream is suitable.
  10. Apply the exfoliator exclusively to clean lips. Remove lipstick, both hygiene and cosmetic. Wipe off balm and any other product. Otherwise, you will not be able to perform the procedure as efficiently as possible.

Features of making lip scrubs

  1. Do not prepare the exfoliation beforehand. Such a move degrades the quality of the product and reduces efficiency.
