Crafts from cotton pads and cardboard. Crafts from cotton pads, cotton swabs and cotton wool. Snowflakes on a Christmas tree made of cotton pads

One of the fertile materials for hand-made work is cotton pads. They absorb paint well, flowers made from them fit perfectly into bouquets that will decorate any postcard with dignity.

Crafts made from cotton pads made by kids' hands are especially valuable. An elementary example is the caterpillar, a cheerful, positive character in cartoons and children's books. This is a common applique, using component elements painted in different colors.

Whole flower fields can be created from cosmetic cotton pads. One such composition combines both artistic and applied creativity. In addition to cotton pads, you will need a minimum of materials: an A3 sheet, colored paper, glue and paints.

  • First, we draw the background (you can simply paint over the sheet with blue or blue paint, or you can depict additional elements on it - the sun, stars, etc.)
  • We glue the cotton pad as shown in Figure 2-4.
  • Cut out additional elements from paper (stems, leaves, grass).
  • It remains only to beautifully arrange our flowers on a piece of paper.

Another option for applied art is eclectic flowers made from cotton pads. In this case, you don't even need paper, just paints and glue are enough. The step-by-step process for creating such beauty is shown in Figure 2-5. Use an eyedropper to keep the paint in neat droplets.

Crafts from cotton swabs

If you have faded decorative flowers lying around at home, you can give them a second wind with the help of cotton swabs. Such flowers made will look much more original than dull fabric inflorescences. We will need:

  • a set of cotton swabs;
  • gouache;
  • stems from old decorative flowers;
  • Super glue.

Take 10-15 cotton swabs (the more there are, the more voluminous the inflorescence will turn out) and cut in half. Fold all the halves with the cotton-wrapped sides up and fold in the shape of a flower. Thoroughly coat the place where the stem is attached to the inflorescence with glue and attach our flower to it. Once the glue is dry, you can paint our cotton swab crafts any color by simply dipping them in paint.

Another way to make flowers from cotton swabs is to use styrofoam balls, which can be purchased at any craft store. The mechanism of work is similar: cut cotton swabs in half, stick them into a styrofoam ball to make a flower like a dandelion, and dip the ends of the sticks in paint. Twisted wire can be used as stems.

By the same principle, you can make other crafts from cotton swabs: hedgehogs, the same snowmen, etc.

flower composition

For an older child, it will be an interesting master class on making a flower arrangement, for example, in the form of a bouquet in a basket or in the form of a topiary (this is the word today for original small trees made by hand). It is always fashionable to give such a gift to mom on March 8 or birthday.

For manufacturing you will need:

  • cotton pads (the amount depends on the size of the composition);
  • needle;
  • beads;
  • packing boxes for cotton pads;
  • polyurethane foam;
  • glue;
  • a piece of green silk or lining fabric for leaves;
  • stapler.

We roll up the cotton pads, fix them in buds, as shown. We put aside the finished flowers, make the leaves. They will be located along the perimeter of the vase and will be a living pillow for delicate and fragile flowers. The sequence of folding the leaf fabric is shown below.

Fill the can from under the discs (you can use any other one, for example, from under the ear sticks), fill it with polyurethane foam, let it dry. We level the surface of the foam with a knife - we make it flush with the edge of the can.

The jar itself can be painted in your favorite colors or decorated with a decoupage method.

We proceed to glue flowers from cotton pads and leaves to the surface of the foam.

The work is ready. Flowers can be made in the form of calla lilies. Then the disks do not need to be folded completely, but you can fasten them with staples and a stapler.

How to make a bouquet of roses - see the video.

DIY crafts from cotton pads can be timed to coincide with such favorite holidays as New Year, Christmas. Cute air angels smoothly descending on strings of rain around the entire perimeter of the room being dressed up is just such an option. You can use them as Christmas tree toys, garlands, or just additions to New Year's gifts.

The manufacturing steps are shown below. Observing the basic rules of this simple master class, you can quickly and with minimal costs make the living room intriguing, and the atmosphere of the nursery - soft, romantic. Making angels begins with the design of the head and its smooth transition to the body - the dress.

At the end of the work, the head can be decorated with a wreath of yellow-gold braid, wire, or painted with paint.

New year wreath

We have already figured out how to make flowers from cotton pads. The next step is a chic souvenir, similar in the manufacturing method to a flower, but a little more complicated - a floral Christmas wreath. These are often hung on the entrance or interior doors, placed above the doorway or on the gate. True, such a decoration is more homemade, since it will not withstand atmospheric precipitation and fluctuations in air temperature.

It is easy to assemble a wreath step by step, but this must be done carefully and slowly. The same discs bent into four sectors are used as blanks. The corner at the base is chipped off and attached to the base ring. You need to fasten the parts as close to each other as possible. This will create the effect of softness, fullness, artistic exoticism.

Regarding the plane of attachment, it must be remembered that only the front half of the ring should be filled with artificial flowers. The back should be left flat and smooth, since it needs to be in contact with the wall or other surface on which the wreath will be located.

As soon as the wreath is ready, we proceed to the loop for fastening. Its appearance should not spoil the impression of the entire product. Therefore, a silk ribbon rolled into a loop and neatly attached to the back of the ring is ideal.

The general view of the finished product is shown in picture 26, it is very delicate, stylish and soft. Inside a wreath of blooming roses, an angel will be placed in place. The similarity of the materials used for crafts will give the souvenir the character of a single composition.

Lamb

When working with a young child, you can invite him to fantasize, imagine in the body of which animal or in which plant there are similar circles. Surely it will be:

  • panda;
  • owl;
  • chicken with chicken after painting discs yellow;
  • monkey;
  • sunflower.

An interesting craft of a lamb or a lamb. For those who are not lazy, it will not be difficult to make a whole herd by decorating them with colorful toy accessories. The step-by-step instructions are as follows:

Let's prepare:

  • pieces of felt;
  • threads;
  • stapler;
  • cotton pads;
  • scissors;
  • glue;
  • twine.

If the colored felt is not available, you can use a special fabric dye.

We start by folding the disc in four and fastening the resulting shape with staples. We sew each received element and put them tightly on a silk lace.

Completing the work, we give the lace with the threaded discs the appearance of a ball. The first stage of work is over.

The matter is small - easy design of the face. For this, the very pieces of felt are used, cut to the shape and size of the intended animal. Here you can play with flowers and use the material of the most unexpected colors, so the result will be more fun.

If the idea was to make a lamb in stages, we supplement its head with horns made of wire, if a lamb, there is no need for them.

Having attached the horns to the head, for example, with plasticine, as well as embroidering the eyes and nose with threads or beads, we finish the work. As a result - a skillfully made, handmade toy that will look original on a branch of a New Year tree, for example.

The figure of a chicken from yellow discs is obtained by sticking two circles (one slightly larger than the other), depicting the head and body. The eyes are black beads, the beak is a red triangle.

Christmas card

A holiday card featuring a cheerful snowman is very easy to make! All you need is a sheet of colored paper (preferably blue), cotton pads, glue and felt-tip pens. Use the largest diameter discs as they will have to be shortened.

  • Cut out the "body" of the snowman. We only need three discs, two of which need to be shortened to make the snowman look more natural.
  • We glue the discs to the paper (Figure 2).
  • We "revive" the snowman by drawing a face, pens, a hat, etc. It is more convenient to draw on cotton pads with felt-tip pens, although you can also use watercolors or gouache.

You can add a twist to the craft with the help of additional details - nail polish, ribbons, etc. Let your child show imagination. There is no doubt that the "Snowman" flyer that the kid has created is much more pleasant to receive than the most expensive New Year's cards.

Snowman made of paper plates

We offer you a simple and interesting type of home decor for the New Year holidays. The materials are all the same cotton balls and paper picnic plates of different sizes. This decor can be used to decorate walls, an entrance door, or make a separate panel.

  • Lay out a snowman from three paper plates, securing them with thin strips of tape (if you are making a composition in the form of a panel, you can use glue).
  • Glue cotton balls to the plates to give the snowman volume.
  • From paper or other materials at hand, make the New Year's hero eyes, nose, headdress.

Cheerful penguin

Another idea that even a toddler can implement. To simplify the work, we have prepared a template that needs to be printed on paper. However, you can use any other drawing of the penguin you like, or draw it yourself. The principle of making crafts is the same in any case.

We need:

  • printed template;
  • cosmetic cotton balls;
  • PVA glue;
  • scissors;
  • trims of black and orange cardboard.

First, download and print a drawing template. Then, cover the entire white area with glue and gently apply cotton balls to it, being careful not to overstep the boundaries. Then cut out the eyes and beak of the penguin from the cardboard and complete the craft.

Any New Year characters (snowman, Santa Claus, Snow Maiden) are created in the same way. The main thing is to find a quality template.

Whether it is souvenirs made only from cotton pads, or crafts made from cotton swabs, they carry a charge of positive energy, develop thinking, and contribute to the development of a child's outlook. Let there be more. Let them unite children and make their inner world wider, brighter, more fun.

We offer a selection of the best ideas for crafts from cotton pads for children. In it you will find the most popular applications and several volumetric versions of figures of various popular heroes and animals. All of them are very simple and funny, it is a pleasure to create them. Children of the age of kindergarten and elementary school will be able to make crafts from cotton pads with their own hands. Some of them don't even need outside help; just guide the child, tell him.

Crafts and applications from cotton pads are a great way to develop children's imagination. In addition, it has a beneficial effect on the fine motor skills of the hands. Another obvious plus: the availability and safety of all materials. The main part of each craft will consist of cotton wool, paints are used only at will.

So what can be made of cotton pads?

Chick

Even a preschooler can do this craft. Additionally, we need:

  • cardboard;
  • several rhinestones or decorative shiny flowers;
  • pieces of felt;
  • a ready-made eye from a toy or bead;
  • Super glue.

One disc is glued completely, the rest are cut. We glue them on a glue stick or PVP. The decor can be attached with superglue.

Horse

Children of elementary school age can make this application with their own hands. Additionally, we need:

  • cardboard;
  • cotton buds;
  • decorative paper;
  • leaf stencils;
  • beads.

Horse head discs can be pre-stitched. It is convenient to use adhesive colored paper for the leaves. We fix the rest on PVA and superglue. Beads are also more convenient to sew to a cotton pad in advance.

Rabbit

This is a very interesting craft that can be supplemented with colored semolina. Children are very fond of such drawings. Additionally, we take:

  • PVA glue;
  • velvet paper or colored semolina.

Earlier, we talked about how to work with colored semolina (if you like this idea, watch the corresponding master class). We will make the ears and tail of the rabbit from cotton pads. They need to be gutted, rolled into balls and dipped in paste or PVA, and then put on the image using tweezers.

Poodle

The idea of this application is very simple - even a kindergartner can handle the craft. In this case, you see a dog, however, you can select any animal stencil and fill it in. What you need additionally:

  • paste or PVA;
  • stencil;
  • decorative hearts or flowers;
  • thick cardboard or postcard.

If you do not have the opportunity to print a stencil, just take a children's coloring book and cut out any large image of the desired character from it.

We glue the picture and fill the ears, paws and tail with soft balls. Fluff the cotton pad well and roll it into small pieces, and then put them on the glue. Make a frame using any decor.

Teddy bear

Another simple craft that small children will like - you can cut the cotton pads yourself, and entrust the assembly of the application to the child. Additionally, we take:

  • beads;
  • decorative stickers;
  • colored paper and cardboard;
  • PVA glue.

Beads can be sewn on if you only have a glue stick. If there are no beads, you can draw a teddy bear's face with a felt-tip pen. Such applications are good for children's cards for the holidays.

Umka

Let's remember our favorite cartoon about the polar bear Umka and make an applique in the form of a hero who found his mother. When your child watches this cartoon, invite him to make such a craft from cotton pads with his own hands. Additionally you will need:

  • cardboard (preferably corrugated);
  • decorative stars (it is fashionable to take stickers or cut them out of paper);
  • PVA glue.

We lay out the bears from cotton pads, and we will make snow from their inner part. Fluff up the cotton wool and glue it to the cardboard. Make a starry sky. If you do not have additional decor, and your child cannot cut stars yet, draw this sky.

You can make a lot of crafts from cotton pads with your own hands, including topiary. More than one master class teaches how to turn soft white circles into delicate flower buds, and where to adapt these buds later.

Cotton pads are inexpensive, buying them is not a problem, but there are a lot of ideas for what else they can be turned into. With your own hands, you can crush, bend, twist discs in order to understand what they can turn into. In most cases, a master class is not needed - the discs spontaneously twist into a flower.

Such a roll-bud can be supplemented with a bead, or rhinestones, or a core that is cut from corrugated paper.

Just try to wind up more of these flowers, figuring out how to make the core. You can watch some kind of master class, taking the idea from there. A candy, a button, bugles or sequins can be hidden inside a flower made of cotton pads.

Perhaps just a small mother-of-pearl bead sewn into the bud will be the best decoration. And you can use not just a bead, but a hairpin with a bead. In this case, you will insert pins into the foam ball.

Rose from cotton pads (video)

Cotton pad topiary: step by step instructions

Let's say the buds are ready. By the way, there is a good alternative to them - to make roses with your own hands from several discs. That is, if a bud with a bead is one disk, then such a rose is made up of several circles at once.

  • Start making the crown. You will need a base ball, conventionally it will be a foam ball, which you can buy at a craft store. This ball can be left white, and flowers from cotton pads will be fixed on it.
  • Set aside a hole in the workpiece where the tree trunk will be threaded. If it is easier for you to work this way, then you can plant the barrel on the finished crown, or you can immediately fix the barrel in a ball with hot glue.
  • Glue flowers from cotton circles very carefully, the material is delicate and easily soiled. It is better to glue it from the top to the bottom, avoiding voids.
  • Next, when the crown is ready, decorate the trunk. Bleached twine, white satin ribbon, or lace ribbon are commonly used.
  • Now the tree needs to be "planted" in a pot to make a real topiary. Take either a ready-made flowerpot or any container that you can decorate. Pour gypsum solution into it, and plant the tree there evenly. Wait for it to dry.

Making a pot for topiary

Further, you can take any master class as a basis. Beginners can make a rather simple decor - for example, tie the container with burlap, and then tie it again with a thin lace ribbon, and on top with a very thin satin ribbon. The finishing touch is mother-of-pearl beads or buttons.

There is another way to decorate, more complicated. To do this, you need a smooth pot. More than one reviewed master class on decoupage technique will come in handy. With light napkins, with an interesting, soft print, you glue the pot, complementing it with other cut-out pictures. Several coats of varnish will complete the job.

Or you can simply wrap the flowerpot with delicate corrugated paper, securing it on top in a circle with a snow-white satin ribbon.

Simple but cute daisies can be made from a cotton pad. The master class comes down to just a couple of steps - you spread one disc, make cuts in a circle to form petals. And inside such a chamomile, glue a yellow felt core. Even a child can make a topiary with such daisies with his own hands.

But what else are cotton pads capable of:

  • Roll five circles in one place, making a corner, and connect with beads to make a flower of five large petals;
  • It will be beautiful to paint the edges of the flowers, as if to emphasize the edges of the petals, ordinary watercolor paints will cope with this task;
  • You can simply cut cotton pads into several pieces, these lumps that look like snow, or curls of a lamb, can also be used in crafts, and topiary is no exception.

Of course, discs can be painted, moreover, in natural ways - tea leaves, brilliant green, potassium permanganate, etc. But they are beautiful in themselves, soft white circles, warm and tender.

Tools and tools

No special adaptations are required. Depending on what kind of craft is conceived, plastic cocktail straws (for example, for the stem of a flower), toothpicks, spruce and pine cones, tree leaves, coniferous twigs - anything that dictates the imagination may come in handy.

Below are beautiful ideas for crafts from cotton pads, simple to perform even for a six-year-old child.

Snowy christmas tree

Before starting work, you need to prepare:

  • many white cotton pads;
  • a sheet of white cardboard of the same size as the height of the tree;
  • stapler and paper clips;
  • stationery glue;
  • braid;
  • large multi-colored beads - these will be Christmas balls.

Creating a Christmas tree

A sheet of cardboard is rolled up into a narrow cone and glued along the edge. The trunk must be stable, therefore, the base of the cone is made even, if it did not work out to roll properly, it is necessary to trim it with scissors.

All cotton pads are folded in triangles - first in half, then in half again: these will be spruce legs.

Starting from the base - from the bottom to the top - the discs are attached in horizontal rows tightly to each other so that the Christmas tree is fluffy. You can attach it with pins with colored heads - decorations will immediately appear on the tree, or with a stapler.

The herringbone is decorated with balls - the beads can be sewn on or glued on. If you wrap the tree with braid, it will play the role of garlands.

You can decorate such a Christmas tree to your liking - rain, confetti, even hang real glass Christmas tree decorations of a small size.

Snowman card

When making crafts from cotton pads, it is important to act step by step, not overtaking events - this will teach the child perseverance. This fun and unusual postcard requires the following materials:

  • 2 thick cotton pads (so that the image is three-dimensional);
  • a sheet of thick colored paper or thin cardboard - the color you want the postcard;
  • sheets of thin colored paper for a hat and scarf;
  • orange colored paper for carrot nose;
  • scissors;
  • stationery glue;
  • 2 buttons (for the eyes);
  • felt-tip pens.

Create a postcard

One of the cotton pads is trimmed with scissors for the head so that it becomes a smaller diameter of the snowman's base disc. Eyes-buttons are glued to the head with glue. (Eyes can be made from special stickers or cut out of colored paper.) Hat, scarf and nose carrot are cut out of colored paper.

The cardboard sheet is folded neatly in half. To make the fold perfectly even, and the cardboard is bent well, you can draw a line along the ruler with the blunt side of the scissors. This is a blank postcard. Cotton pads, a hat, a scarf and a nose are glued to the front side of the postcard.

The postcard is ready! Such a snowman will also make a decoration for window glass, if you make it not on cardboard, but on a transparent film with glue applied to both sides. This film can be bought in any department of goods for children's creativity.

Snowball

Snowballs can be hung on a living tree, or you can attach a string to a snowball and play with a cat. All you need is cotton pads, ribbon and glue. All discs are folded in four to form triangles. A drop of glue is applied to the tip of each triangle.

Together with these tips, four folded discs are glued together. If it is a toy for a cat, then it is better not to glue them, but to sew them together.

Four discs make half a snowball, the same is made for the second half. The halves are fastened together. Each snowball must be sewn with a ribbon in the form of a loop. There are many options for crafts. The main thing is to show imagination.
