Correct panama pattern- the first key to success. Today we present you four options for sewing a children's panama hat, different in cut and suitable for different ages.

The first model is a panama hat made of five wedges with wide brims that reliably protect from the sun. The panama has double margins - this gives them the necessary rigidity. The joint of the wedges is decorated with a button on top, covered with the same fabric as the main product. Ties are provided to prevent the cap from falling off the child's head. Before starting work, be sure to check the circumference of the baby's head against the size of the template and, if necessary, correct it.

The second option, a panama hat - a hood, is designed for babies up to two years old. Model developer Corinne, blog author "Purl bee", gives a template with markings in five sizes, starting at birth.

The panama hat is conveniently tied under the chin. Semicircular fields are duplicated for density with adhesive interlining.

The third model is for older girls. The children's panama hat is cut and sewn from six wedges widening downwards, like "Bell". Allowances on the seamy side are processed with a bias tape, the margins are duplicated at the bottom with a one-piece edging.

Advice: put a bindweed between the fields and the edging - you get a beautiful scalloped edge.

The option will require the development of your own template, taking into account the size of the child's head, but the result will please!

The fourth option is a cute model for toddlers, a hood panama with a button closure on top. Instead of a visor, there is a wide strip of lace sewing, and the holes on the top, formed when the panama is folded, are an additional decoration of the headdress and ventilation.

In the hot season, or even just on the eve of summer, the safety of our and children's heads is relevant. Some protect them by covering them with a kerchief, some with a cap, some with a hat, and some just make panamas out of newspaper. Any ways are good!

A fold is a dotted line in a drawing. This side of the pattern should be applied to the fold of the fabric.

Lay out on the fabric as shown in the picture, just add one more detail 3. Cut out. 1 cm allowances.

Panama sewing sequence

1. Glue the panama details with non-woven fabric.

2. Sew back middle seam on the bottom of the crown. The width of the seam is -1 cm. Iron the seams. If necessary, overlock their edges.

3. Chip and sweep the upper and lower parts of the crown, slightly touching the lower part. Create machine stitch. Take out the basting. Overlock the slices. Unscrew the allowances on the lower part of the crown and delay with a finishing stitch.

4. On the panama hem, make the back middle seams. Iron the allowances.

5. Panama brim to connect face to face. Stitch outer cuts. Cut the seam allowances to 0.2-0.3 cm. It is advisable to iron them out with the tip of the iron - then the turned-out seam will be better laid out. Turn out the fields. Place finishing lines at the same distance from the edge of the brim.

6. Pin open sections of the brim to the bottom of the panama crown (face with face). Stitch, overlock the sections. Press the seam allowances on the crown.

7. If desired, the last seam of the seam can be closed with tape from the wrong side.

8. If no decorative tape is sewn on the front side, then at this stage it is necessary to top off the seam with a decorative stitch.
If you sew on the tape, then the line will lie along its edge. It is practiced to put a cord under the tape to adjust the width of the panama hat, but this is valid provided that the product is sewn from soft fabrics.

Also, this style of Panama can be done in another way.

The next 4 sketch pictures differ in different styles. Look closely, perhaps you will be able to decorate your product in a special way.

In preparation for the article, I studied a lot of material from the Internet. And since I only share a pattern that needs to be printed, it will be useful to familiarize yourself with other drawings that you can build yourself.

In the first drawing, you can see that the margins are quite large. They can be either increased or decreased.

Let me remind you that there is such a technique to proportionally increase the details (sides and lines). You need to calculate one side, which you will know exactly by size and find out the magnification factor.

For example, the drawing says that it should be 16 cm, but only 4 cm is drawn (attach a ruler and measure). This means that in full size all dimensions (measured with a ruler in the figure) must be increased by 4 times.

And there is one more difference. In some patterns of panama hats, the central part is drawn round, and in others - oval. It's a matter of taste. It is better to take a closer look at the purchased models and decide for yourself which he likes best.
Each model can also be decorated with lace, as in this picture.

Hat. At any time of the year, on the streets of the city, beaches, cafes, you can meet a representative of the weaker sex in a headdress, which has come to us through centuries of thorns. This is a women's hat with brim, which is popular with women, especially in the summer, during the beach season.
It turns out that making a brimmed hat is not so difficult. To do this, we need a small amount of material that you come up with yourself, at your discretion, a hat pattern and, of course, a good mood. Our proposed hat pattern consists of three parts: bottom, crown and brim.
After a little time and the application of considerable effort, you will get a completely stylish women's hat with brims, which can be worn almost anywhere. Most importantly, it will protect your head from the sun, rain, wind.

Cap

Throughout the twentieth century, the cap was a headdress for different strata and classes of society. It was worn by leaders and presidents, punks and thieves, athletes and scientists. Everyone managed to use this headdress as the main, unshakable attribute of outerwear.
Today, absolutely everyone wears a cap: from children to pensioners and elderly people. As a rule, in the shops of the city, the caps are the same. There is no such that no one else would have. And women want individuality. You have to look for a cap pattern on the Internet and start sewing. This is what we will do with you now!
As for the pattern, you do not need to look for it, it is there. It is for this cap pattern that we will create a new hat with you, which no one else in your city has! This cap pattern is made up of ten pieces: six wedges, two visors, and two rims.
It is very easy to sew a cap according to the presented pattern. The main thing is to know what's what. The first thing to do is to transfer the cap pattern to the paper, leaving 1 centimeter for the seams. Then you need to sew the wedges together. This will be the bottom of our cap. Then you need to sew on the cap lining. The most important part is the visor. It needs to be cut out and sewn neatly. In order for the visor of the cap to be rigid, you need to make a special non-woven insert of the same size. If not, you can use ordinary cardboard. Then we attach the visor to the crown. There is a rim to them. That's all! The cap is ready!
So, with the help of a cap pattern, we sewed a new hat that can be worn anytime and anywhere!

Bandana

The bandana itself, as an element of clothing, entered people's lives long before the appearance of berets, hats and hats. Its roots stretch back to the days of the wild west, when travelers protected their airways from dust by tying bandanas around their necks.
Today it is used more often for decorative and aesthetic purposes than for protection from the sun and dust. Although, to give it credit, after many years, the bandana does not cease to be one of the best hats, interrupting the scorching rays of the sun. With this bandana pattern, you can sew it in half an hour.
Of course, this is the time that will go into sewing the bandanas. For sewing, you need to choose the material. In principle, any elastic, but not dense fabric is suitable for this headgear. It can be leather, linen, soft drape, denim. Anything, the main thing is that the material corresponds to these two important qualities.
After working with a bandana pattern, you can process its edges, apply decorative accessories at your discretion. That's all! The bandana is ready! Now it can be worn on the head, covering the head from the scorching sun in the hot summer, on the belt, on the neck or on the arm. The main thing is that it matches your style of clothing.
