Hiro mashima: Because I would like to own magic.
RP2 Is it easy for you to develop stories centered on magic?
RP2: Have you thought about trying yourself in other stories about magic?
HM: Yes, I invent a lot of such stories. But I don't know if I can post any of them in the near future.
RP2: There are a lot of rumors about what influenced you. Can you tell us how you got started?
HM A: It is true that I have never received help from other manga artists.
RP2: And how, then, did your style develop?
HM: Of course, I was greatly influenced by the manga artists of the past, but the fact that I drew a lot influenced my style much more. I am self-taught, and my own style has been shaped by trial and error, as well as the ability to show my works to the public and receive their feedback and impressions.
RP2: What do you think about the fact that your works are printed outside of Japan?
HM: It makes me very happy
RP2: Curious why your characters are named after the seasons
HM: You just know what the seasons are called in Japanese (laughs). Generally speaking, it has to do with the situation in the log. When Rave started publishing, the magazine didn't have any more fantasy-themed stories, stories about "magic". I wanted to give the characters sonorous names, in a Western style, but then most of the Japanese readers would not associate themselves with the heroes or feel they are something distant, and so my first character, Haru, appeared.
RP2: Let's change the subject a bit, a widescreen adaptation of the Fairy Tail anime premiered recently. Are you satisfied with the work that A-1 Pictures and Masaya Fujimori have done?
HM: Yes, I am proud of this work
RP2: Think Fairy Tail is probably having its best moment right now? Can you surpass this success?
HM: It depends on the fans, I am ready to create stories more and more interesting and engaging every time, but obviously the level of popularity matters
RP2: Do you have any other surprises in store for us?
HM: I like to surprise my readers. Although it may seem that I am cunning, because seven years have passed, but yes - I still have a bunch of ideas in stock to continue to amaze you
