Style is a way of saying who you are without using words.

The trumpet scarf is a unique thing. Firstly, this accessory is unusually stylish and beautiful. It can have a bright or muted color, be combined with the outfit or contrast with it. Such a transforming scarf is easy to knit from any thread, and it will ideally fit both a sports jacket and a model coat. And its main difference from conventional models is that it is multifunctional. With a tube scarf, a hat is not required.

What is a trumpet scarf and how to wear it?

A thick and cozy winter scarf will reliably cover you from icy winds and snow. In calmer weather, it is worn around the neck or beautifully laid with a collar on the shoulders. His style is versatile, as a trumpet scarf is appropriate to wear with absolutely any clothing. And most importantly, it is comfortable: it is easy to put on, the neck is warm, and the ends do not interfere, dangling at the bottom. Wear it as a collar, scarf, short poncho or hood - it's up to you.

Massive embossed scarves look attractive and feminine. Such an accessory must be combined with a jacket, coat or sheepskin coat. Wear classic models of the product with concise things made in a strict manner. More playful trumpet scarves with tassels, pom-poms, bows should be worn with casual outfits or when going for a romantic evening.

What is another name for a trumpet scarf?

A scarf-pipe is also called "snood" or "collar". It can perform not so much the function of warming as decorative, being an attribute of style. will play the role of a bright element in the image. In this case, thin yarn is allowed for knitting. Moreover, the knitting method can be both openwork and smooth. If, in addition to the aesthetic role, the collar should warm, then take bulk threads. For this product, coarse knitting is preferable, so the loops do not need to be tightened. Gum, braid, waves, bumps, as well as any pattern you like, looks great on a scarf.

What kinds of pipe scarf are there?

Modern fashion trends welcome plain soft knitted tube scarves in pastel colors: beige, pale pink, milky. Moreover, the main fabric can be in harmony with other materials: leather or fur. Stylish and elegant in combination with large knitting look products made of cashmere, knitwear, cotton. Elegant models are sometimes decorated with fur, embroidery with sequins, rhinestones or beads.

The collar cannot be perceived as an exclusively female accessory. Men's scarf is no less fashionable. For the representatives of the stronger sex, dark soothing colors and dense fabrics are suitable. A man who loves sports will prefer a sporty version of the snood. The size of the scarf-pipe can be any: short or long, wide or covering only the neck. A knitted and fleece collar looks original on the men's neck, which is preferable to wear in the off-season.

The child will be able to appreciate the convenience of snud. Firstly, it will perfectly warm and protect from the cold wind. Secondly, a big plus of such a scarf for kids is that it does not untie, which means they will not lose it. A children's knitted collar will wonderfully complement a blouse with an open neck, warming the child's neck. With such an accessory, it is not necessary to purchase a down jacket with a high collar for a child - it will be able to protect the baby from the cold.

How to tie a pipe scarf with your own hands?

A tube scarf is easy to knit. You can take two knitting needles, and then sew the ends of the product together, otherwise, take four knitting needles and knit immediately with a pipe. Even inexperienced craftswomen who are just starting to master the skill of knitting can easily cope with this product. How wide the snood will be is up to you, but its standard size is 50 cm. The length of the product is also determined individually. However, it should be noted that its length should be much greater than its width (about 60-70 cm). A narrow knitted scarf looks a little "mean". From such a product you will not get a beautiful drapery.

If you knit with two knitting needles, you will get a rectangle of the desired size, the edge of which must then be sewn to the opposite edge. Knitting is simple and you do not need a pattern. To sew the edges, you should use a sewing machine or do it by hand. If you prefer the second option, please note that the knitted material requires the use of a special sewing technique.

Knitting a tube scarf with circular needles is more difficult, but then there is no need to make a seam. When you get the finished product, you need to decorate it with fringe, tassels or other decorative elements of your choice. The voluminous knitting option, bold color combinations will make your scarf different from others. Consider what options for knitting a scarf-pipe are:

Knitting needles - detailed description and diagram

Knit a scarf-pipe with a large thread, without tightening the loops tightly. Therefore, choose not a thin, but a large type of yarn. The more voluminous the product is, the more elegant it will look and keep its shape better. If you have already purchased thin yarn, then you should knit in two threads. Choose the color of your choice, focusing on the clothes with which you will wear the collar. When you decide on a pattern, start knitting. We offer the method of Macedonian knitting:

  1. It is necessary to dial 112 loops on circular knitting needles No. 5.
  2. Tie a piece of 2 cm with an English rubber band.
  3. We pass to knitting needles No. 6 and knit one circle. This row is front, and 56 times after each second loop we knit one loop from the transverse thread of the front crossed. You should have 168 stitches.
  4. We return to the main pattern and knit 31 cm.
  5. When the 140th row is completed, knit the circular row again with facial loops. We evenly knit 56 times instead of the front, two loops. So we get another 112 loops.
  6. We pass to the fifth knitting needles and knit with an “elastic band” of 35 cm.
  7. We close the loops.

Crochet - detailed description and diagram

For knitting a pipe scarf, there are no special rules by which you need to choose the material. Focus on what time of the year you will wear it, and with what clothes. For cold weather, thicker products made from yarn containing wool are appropriate. For the transition period, acrylic threads of medium thickness are suitable. If you prefer to crochet a trumpet scarf, then you will need the following materials:

  • yarn in the amount of 300-400 grams (preferably from a combined pile - wool and acrylic);
  • hooks No. 4, No. 5.

We offer you an elastic pattern:

  1. We collect a chain of an odd number of loops. This is important because the first and last columns must be adjacent.
  2. When the circle is closed, we make 4 lifting air loops, and in every second we knit a column (unusual) without a crochet.
  3. Insert the hook into the loop, grab and pull out the working thread.
  4. Grab the working thread again and knit only one loop twice on the hook.
  5. Grab the working thread, knit 2 loops on the hook.
  6. Knit 1 air loop.
  7. Through the air it is necessary to do everything again until the end of the product.

Please note that there should not be a connection at the end of the row. Continue to knit the next row in the round, crocheting inside the unusual single crochet. It is located between a stretched thread and a chain of air loops that has appeared. We finish knitting. If you did everything right, you have a beautiful and stylish elastic snood scarf.

trumpet cap is a multifunctional headdress that combines a scarf and a hat. This product is knitted quite simply and even beginner needlewomen can do it.

Step 1. Choose yarn

When choosing yarn, keep in mind that a trumpet-cap knitted from all-wool threads will prickle and cause discomfort when worn, so it is better to use yarn consisting of 40-50% acrylic and 50-60% wool. Mohair will make a beautiful airy, but thin product, it will be cold in frosty weather, in addition, it will be blown by the wind. Some women of fashion use a trumpet hat as a decorative accessory for a festive outfit; such a product can be made from linen, ribbon, fancy or silk yarn. It should be noted that novice knitters should avoid smooth, slippery yarn, as working with it requires certain skills.

Step 2. Choosing knitting needles

The thickness of the needles depends on the thickness of the thread and the density of knitting. The finished product should be elastic and fall off in soft waves. If the knitting needles are thin, then the knitting will turn out to be dense, and the cap-pipe will be unnecessarily stiff. A seamless trumpet hat is knitted on stocking needles, a product with a seam can be knitted on ordinary long knitting needles or knitting needles with a fishing line (depending on the width of the product).

Step 3. Choose a Pattern

For a trumpet cap, you can choose almost any pattern: it can be voluminous braids, openwork knitting or any elastic band. Beginning needlewomen should not take on complex patterns; it is better to opt for a simple elastic band (1x1, 2x2) or pearl knitting. Elementary repeating details of the pattern will allow you not to get hung up on remembering actions, but to focus on the accuracy of knitting.

Step 4. Taking measurements

First of all, you need to measure the girth of the head and decide on the length. If a hat-pipe is planned to be worn in the winter, then it should not be loose. In this case, it should be borne in mind that a product that is too tight will sit ugly and cause discomfort when worn.

Step 5. Cast on loops

To calculate the required number of loops, it is necessary to knit a test sample about 15 cm wide and about 10 cm high. The sample is removed from the knitting needles, stretched and measured. Then calculate how many loops per 1 cm of knitting, and calculate the total number of loops in the set.

Step 6. Let's start knitting

The main pattern is pearl knitting, we knit a 2x2 elastic band along the edges. So, we collect loops on the knitting needles, adjust their number so that it is a multiple of two. If you plan to knit a hat-pipe on stocking needles, then the number of loops should be a multiple of four.

The first 5-10 cm we knit with an elastic band 2x2:

    I row - the first loop must be removed (edge), then we knit 2 facial and 2 purl. The pattern is repeated until the end of the row, the last loop (edge) must be knitted on the wrong side;

II row - the second row and all the following we knit according to the pattern: we knit the front loops with the front ones, purl - purl, remove the first edge loop, knit the last one with the purl.

    I row: edge, 1 front, 1 wrong side (repeated until the end of the row), knit the last loop wrong side;

II row: edge, in place of the front loop they knit the wrong one, in place of the wrong one - the front one.

The result is a pattern like this.

We knit the last rows of the cap-pipe with an elastic band 2x2.

The resulting rectangle is sewn with a knitted seam - the cap-pipe is ready. If the product is knitted on stocking needles in a circle, then at the beginning of the first row, the extreme loops are connected, and the edge loops are not knitted.

A hat-pipe can cover not only the head and neck, but also go down to the shoulders, covering the chest. In this case, as you knit, you need to evenly add loops through each row.

A collar scarf (or snood) is one of the most fashionable accessories. There is a logical explanation for this - it is universal. After all, such an accessory is a scarf and a hat at the same time. It is beautiful, lush and very comfortable.

How to sew a scarf collar?

You can make a collar scarf from a piece of fabric, an old sweater and other similar things. If you take a fabric, it is enough to sew it to make a circle. Then it can be folded in half and stitched to make it thicker and warmer.

To create a scarf, it is better to take warm fabrics, which will be soft at the same time. Suitable velvet, knitwear. If you want to get a warmer scarf, you can fill it from the inside with a heater.

To create such an accessory as a collar scarf from an old sweater, you will need the sweater itself, threads and scissors. Cut off the excess parts of the jacket on both sides - so, you need to cut it under the armpits, you can leave the bottom as it is if there are no decorative elements on the jacket, such as buckles or pockets. If they are, they need to be cut off. Next, you need to hem the edges, the scarf collar is ready. If you want to make it more original, you can additionally decorate it with beads, cameos, and so on.

Knitted options

You can make a tube scarf from two pieces of knitted fabric.

  • To do this, it is better to take two thin cuts of knitwear of different colors.
  • Bend them into an elongated horseshoe
  • Start twisting them together so that you get an interesting and beautiful braid.
  • Sew it at the end, connect the edges

You can additionally decorate the accessory and get an original product that will be a great addition to any look.

Knitted options

There are two ways to knit a scarf collar: knitting and crocheting.

For knitting you will need:

  • thread - about half a kilogram
  • stocking needles
  • circular needles
  • hook

The thickness of the needles is determined by the thickness of the thread that you will use for knitting. Remember that the thicker the thread, the more original and interesting the finished product will look, even without any patterns.

  • On circular knitting needles, dial the required number of loops - how many there will be depends on how wide the product you want to end up with
  • On average, there should be about 120-150 of them. Dial them, close them in a ring
  • Start knitting in a circle. Due to the fact that there are a lot of loops, it will take a long time to knit one row
  • The front rows are tied with facial loops, the purl rows are purl. This is how the garter stitch appears
  • Knit until the desired height, then close the canvas

To make the product look neater, crochet it around the edge, making the edges more openwork and interesting. If you are an experienced craftswoman, you can use any pattern you like in the knitting process - braids, twists, and bumps.

Crochet Snood

You can crochet snood. If the scarf is made using this technique, it will be distinguished by its special delicacy, subtlety and lightness.

  • For manufacturing, it is enough to dial an air chain for 250 loops
  • Next, start knitting lifting loops - usually you need 3 things
  • Then proceed to knitting the fabric
  • The easiest way to use single or double crochets
  • If you want something more interesting, you can use an openwork bunch, when the columns alternate with half-columns, air loops, crossings, and so on.

Making a scarf collar is not as difficult as it seems. At the same time, if you are not afraid to lose time, you can get an excellent accessory that will allow you to complement different clothing options, it will be an appropriate addition to a particular look.

In order not to wrap yourself up in thick sweaters and jackets on cool summer evenings and not turn into brown or white bears, “endless scarves” (based on the Mobius strip principle) were invented from lightweight fabrics. Today we will sew such a scarf from an outdated or simply outdated dress (or skirt) made of dense stretch fabric or similar items of the finest knitting. Flannelette fabric, plush and any analogues will do. If you are not sewing a scarf for warmth - in principle, take any beautiful material! As always, the process of altering is very easy.

Choose a dress, robe, or skirt that has seen better days but has a nice color palette and just the right width of the skirt at the bottom. The bottom line is that the wider the skirt, the longer your scarf will turn out. To transform a rustic dress into a trendy scarf, start by trimming the bottom seam that runs down the hem. Cut as straight as possible - this is the final working edge.

Then measure about 38-40 cm from the bottom with a ruler, make similar even marks all over the fabric from the inside, carefully cut a wide circular strip of fabric along the marks. If you want to make the scarf wider - your right, just do not forget that the skirt usually tapers upward with a trapezoid and you will need to align the side edges of the scarf with scissors.

If the edges of the cut fabric tend to fray too much, simply zigzag the entire length of the fabric 1-2 times before continuing.

For a dress or skirt, cut off one of the side seams to create a very long rectangle. In the case of a bathrobe, you just need to cut off two separate side seams. Fold the rectangle in half lengthwise, right sides together, and evenly pin the two cut edges together at the top with pins along the entire length.

Set a medium-width zigzag seam on the sewing machine and sew the top edge, which is now fastened with pins, retreating from it about 1.5-2 cm. You will get a long pipe.

Fold the pipe in half so that its ends touch. Slightly turn each end inside out and evenly chip the material from the opposite ends of the pipe together - right sides together. Sew the chipped on a typewriter as far in a circle as possible. Align the scarf.

With such a bright colorful accessory you will look incomparable. This trendy scarf can somehow be worn all year round, and you will always be warm in it! He dresses in a couple of turns around the neck, one of which is smaller than the other. And if the length allows, then, in principle, 3-4 turns. The scarf can be quite short, but the option at the very throat in two turns also looks great!

Instruction

A hat-pipe (or collar) is an ideal solution that replaces a headdress and a scarf at the same time. If you have at least a little knowledge of the art of knitting, try making this versatile product.

Prepare woolen yarn for knitting, preferably thicker. Yarn can be varied: smooth or "shaped" - ribbon, boucle, fluffy. Also, a mohair thread folded in half with a smooth woolen thread is well suited for work. Also, get your needles ready. When knitting a trumpet cap, you can use long straight knitting needles or circular ones, whichever is more convenient for you. The thickness of the needles should be approximately equal to the thickness of the knitting thread.

Before starting work, perform the necessary measurements and calculations. First of all, measure the circumference of the head under the chin with a centimeter. Write down or memorize the received data. Now you need to decide for knitting. For this product, it is better to choose an elastic pattern. The "" pattern is very well suited. It fits like this: 1 row - alternate front and back loops. 2nd and all subsequent rows - knit the front loops with the front loops, remove the wrong loops together with the crochet. You can also use other patterns for your model. For example, Swedish, patent gum, plaits or any other pattern of your choice.

After that, knit the sample - it should be 20-30 loops wide, 20-30 rows high. Remove from the knitting needle, pull the sample harder in all directions. Then count how many loops fit into one centimeter. To find out the required number of loops for the cast on, multiply the circumference of the head by the number of loops in one centimeter. Then dial the loops according to the calculations obtained and start knitting the hat.

Knit the first rows with a single or double elastic band. To do this, alternate one knit, one purl loop (if you decide to knit a single elastic band) or two purl and two facial loops if you intend to knit a double elastic band. Knit so no more than three centimeters. Then go to the main pattern. You need to knit quite tightly so that the finished pipe hat does not lose shape during wear. You need to knit at least 60-70 centimeters. In order for the hat to cover the neck and shoulders freely, it is recommended to tie a few centimeters longer. After the main knitted fabric is ready, finish knitting with the same elastic as the beginning of work. After that, close the loops, sew the product by hand with the same thread along the long edges. You have a knitted "pipe".

If you want, try to knit a trumpet hat in a different way, seamless. In this case, the product must be knitted on circular needles or on five long straight needles.

Measure the circumference of your face and add an extra 5 cm to the result to make the hat a little looser. Knit a test piece to calculate the tightness of knitting.

Dial the required number of loops on the knitting needles, evenly distribute them on the knitting needles (if you knit on five knitting needles) and knit with any elastic band. You need to knit until your product is long enough so that you can put on the pipe like a hat, and at the same time the neck should be closed.

No less interesting is another version of the trumpet cap - the cap-collar. The approximate consumption of yarn for this model will be on average 150-200 g. It is better to knit from thick yarn and on thick knitting needles. Such a hat can be knitted in stripes, in a cage (from different balls), or with a relief pattern of plain threads.

Knit a trial fabric for the sample. In this example, two loops fit in one centimeter.

Knit the hood first. Knit the hood on two needles with a horizontal elastic band pattern. She knits according to the following scheme.
1, 3,4, 6th rows knit facial loops.
2.5th row - purl loops.

The hood can be knitted in a straight line and with a cape on the chest, so that there are less gathers on the neck and the chest is better closed.
All calculations are based on the condition that the head circumference is 56 cm. Considering that in the test sample the knitting density was 2 loops per centimeter, dial 112 loops on the knitting needles. To knit a toe, add 50 more loops.
In total, you will get 112 + 50 + 2 hem = 164 loops.

Perform the hood from the corner. To do this, cast on 164 loops on the needles and at the end of each row, knit 2 loops together into one (last and edge). Decrease stitches until you have reduced a total of 50 stitches cast on for the toe. In the process of knitting, try on the hood, as in the course of work there may be some changes in the calculation of the loops.

If the hood is too wide, reduce the extra loops, if it is small, leave a few loops from the toe.

After all the reductions have been made, you will have a canvas that will need to be knitted with a straight fabric 35-40 cm high. Finish the hood with stocking stitch (front row - all front loops, wrong side - all wrong loops). Thus knit 12-16 rows. After that, close all loops.

Thread the thread that was used to knit into a darning needle with a large eye and carefully sew the product according to the pattern.

note

For washing knitted products, it is best not to use powder, but special products - gel or shampoo.

Helpful advice

Snood is one of the variations of the pipe cap or collar cap. Snood can be worn like a hat, like a scarf. And if you experiment, it can even replace the jacket.
Care for knitted things should be gentle. Wash knitted items in warm water, do not twist them. And it is best to dry such products neatly laid out on a horizontal surface.

The pattern - an elastic band - does not necessarily have to be an alternation of knit and purl loops and, therefore, a strip. There are many patterns that stretch and hold their shape like a rubber band.
