But, as it turned out later, this does not affect the appearance of the craft at all, and crumpled cups cannot be distinguished from normal ones.

It is better to start making a snowman from the circumference of the lower ball, which has 25 cups. Each of them is connected with a stapler to the next one. The second and subsequent layers of cups are superimposed on each other and are connected in a circle with all adjacent cups. All this is done so that the design is solid, because in the process of connecting the cups with brackets, many cups burst.

For those who dare to repeat our feat, we recommend choosing cups with a small rim or no rim at all, because. it greatly interferes with the work of the stapler. Of the two staplers at our disposal, only one coped with this obstacle.


Making the bottom ball is not difficult. Everything is intuitive and fast. For three hours in the evening we managed to make one and a half balls. We could have done more, but it was the snowman's "head" that caused the problem. No matter how hard they tried, the “head” turned out to be the same size as the body.

During the night we came up with an idea that we brought to life the next day. We bought more red cups (48 pieces) and, having dismantled the lower layer of the "torso", redid it in red.

The head still didn't budge. The advice in the instructions that the head should be made from a circle of 18 cups did not help at all. In the end, the second ball turned out to be the same size as the previous one. After a lot of trying to find a compromise between the possible acceptable bending of the cups and the dimensions, we were finally able to finish the head.

In order not to suffer with the “head” like we do, we recommend that you squeeze the bottoms of the cups, which will significantly reduce the radius of the ball.

Almost the whole evening was gone.

The third day was the logical conclusion of the creation of a snowman from plastic cups. We attached the head to the body, which is quite difficult, and began to decorate our New Year's craft.

A New Year's cap also stuffed with cups, a scarf made from purchased fabric, stars from last year's purchases, safe Christmas decorations instead of buttons - all this gave our snowman a unique New Year's charm.
