DIY wind chimes: ideas. Do-it-yourself bell: how to make an unusual and beautiful accessory or craft with your own hands What you will need for this

Remembering a trip to Southeast Asia, we will definitely remember how the waves caressed our feet while dining at a restaurant on the shore, and the wind played bells made of bamboo and metal tubes. If you place such bells anywhere in the garden or open porch, you can enjoy their serene sounds as soon as the wind blows.

Making bells is simple; you just need a little free time, imagination, and some supplies. This is a really easy project.

Consumables:

  • 25 flat washers
  • Steel wire
  • Pliers
  • Metal curtain rod or other unnecessary metal tube
  • Clamp (optional)
  • Hacksaw for metal
  • Bright colored rope
  • Drill
  • Scissors
  • Super glue
  • Spout cap for a tin watering can

Action 1

Connect the washers three at a time with thin steel wire. It's simple: First, thread a piece of wire through the centers of two washers and lay them flat so that the edges touch. Use pliers to tie the washers together and cut off the excess wire. Then add the third washer. As a result, you should have eight bundles, each with three washers.

Act 2

Using a hacksaw or other suitable tool, cut the pipe into eight equal pieces.

Act 3

Holding the tube tightly, drill through holes at each end - through these we will thread the twine to make the structure suspended. This operation must be repeated on the seven remaining tubes.

Act 4

Let's move on to connecting the structural elements. Thread the string through the holes at one end of the tube and tie it off. Tie washers after 10 centimeters of rope. To make the knots stronger and withstand strong winds, you can strengthen them with a drop of superglue. Tie washers to all eight tubes.

Action 5

The ropes above the washers should be of different lengths. This is an important point: then each of the eight bells will have its own voice. Let the longest rope be 30 centimeters, and each next one 2-3 centimeters shorter.

Action 6

Now we attach the bells to the lid of the watering can: the holes in it are perfect for this. First we tie the shortest rope, then longer and longer until we reach the longest. The bells should be located in a circle. All nodes are strengthened with superglue.

ACT 7

Another washer is attached to the lid (the knots must be strong). Now you can hang the wind chime from the branches in your yard. You have tamed the wind - now it will play its music for you.

Typically, Chinese wind chimes, or so-called wind chimes, are made from hanging tubes, sticks, bells made of wood or metal. They are hung outdoors and serve as an excellent decoration for the front entrance, terrace, balcony or garden

Bells can be made from simple pencils, and from buttons, and even from ordinary iron lids. And then proudly hang the result of your creativity, for example, on the terrace of a country house.

However, see for yourself:

Coast wind music
Many people have shells at home that they brought back from vacation. So why not use them to create unique bells? You'll need a nice branch, some clear thread, and something you can use to make holes in the shells.

Pencil bells
You can also make bells from writing utensils. For example, use a ruler as a base and hang colored pencils on it.

Bells from flower pots
You can also use small ceramic flower pots: just paint them and hang them on ropes. You can also paint leaves and flowers on them, however, do not forget to apply a protective sealing layer after painting

Bells from children's toys
Her one original idea would be to make a wind chime out of an old children's xylophone: use its colored parts and hang them on a metal base

just use pieces of driftwood and some pretty shells. Drill small holes in the pieces of wood and attach them to the shells with beads.

Pebble bells
Pebbles picked up on the beach can also make an excellent bell. To do this, make a small hole in each stone and secure them to a wooden base, adding beads to the end of the thread to secure it.

Musical items
Kitchen utensils can be creatively used to create wind chimes, these can be spoons, forks, a whisk, a spatula

Bells from earrings
Yes, yes, earrings are needed not only as jewelry. Hang the earrings on the round base and you will get a charming wind chime.

Vintage bells
Be practical: put your trash to good use. You can combine various unnecessary things into one - into Chinese vintage bells.

Bottle caps
When opening a bottle of drinks, do not throw away the caps: they will make an excellent Chinese bell.

Colored keys
You can also use extra or unwanted keys, just paint them and hang them from a branch.

Teapot bell
Use a teapot with lid, beads, chain, cable clamp, cable and rings. This bell can be used indoors and outdoors.

Fin
A bell made from driftwood can be a very original decoration; you will need the driftwood itself, a rope, and a drill with which to make holes.

Silver spoons
Bells made from silver spoons are very original. The spoons are suspended from a base made of a fork. The presence of beads at their ends gives the system additional charm

Garden bells
These bells are simple and beautiful. They are made from dried branches or driftwood, ceramic shards, fishing line and beads, and look especially good hung on a tree.

Metal cans
If you have a few empty metal cans, you can use them to create that same wind chime. Simply paint the jars a variety of colors, make a small hole in the bottom of the jar, and then secure with string or fishing line. Use a knitted hoop or any other round object as

The holiday is served by a bell. In the form of such an object, they make toys for the Christmas tree, decorate a spruce wreath, which is hung on the door, and bells decorating a lamp also look beautiful. How to make a paper bell with your own hands? This question worries many masters. In fact, there are quite a lot of options.

As a Christmas tree decoration, you can cut out the shape of a bell from cardboard, cover it with colored paper, sprinkle the smeared outline with chopped golden rain and hang it on a branch by a string. This is the easiest option a preschooler can do.

If the child is already 4-5 years old, then you can offer him the option of a three-dimensional craft. Before you make a paper bell with your own hands, you need to draw a template. Then trace several outlines on colored paper. You can use paper of the same color, or you can make different ones. Then each bell cut out according to the template must be bent in half and glued the halves together. You will get a voluminous Christmas tree toy. All that remains is to pierce a hole at the top and tie a string.

Crafts from disposable paper cups

Next, we will also talk about how to make a bell out of paper with your own hands. You can take different ideas. It's easy to make toys from white paper cups. To do this, you first need to punch a hole in the bottom using an awl and thread a string. Next, the cups are painted with gouache paints in different colors.

You can immediately pick up solid colored ones in the store, then the finished toys will be even brighter. After the paint has dried, you can cover the surface with PVA glue and sprinkle with finely chopped rain, paste it with cotton balls, and make an applique. You can decorate it in different ways, it’s up to your imagination. Then the bells are hung on a branch on a bright ribbon. You can tie several toys in a bunch at once and tie a large satin bow on top.

Quilling

If you are interested in the DIY paper bell technique, you will understand it after viewing the photo below. You will need:

  • stripes in two colors - yellow and brown;
  • quilling hook;
  • sample;
  • PVA glue.

Start making the picture with a brown twisted circle (the tongue of the bell). Glue it to the bottom of a sheet of cardboard. Next, you need to twist identical loose circles according to the template and, gluing the edge of the strip to the last turn, press it with two fingers, creating the shape of a leaf.

You need to make a lot of such details. Then we begin to create the shape of an object from individual elements. It is better, before making a paper bell with your own hands, to draw its outline with a simple pencil. You can arrange the “leaves” in different ways, but the main thing is that they touch each other without leaving voids on the cardboard.

The last stage of the work is to make a stick for holding the bell. It is made from brown stripes. To create it, just twist two “leaves” of the same size, placing them vertically.

Crafts from disposable plates

It's very easy to make New Year's bells from paper plates. It is desirable that their edges be curly, then the finished toy will look more impressive. Each plate needs to be rolled into a cone and smoothed out the edges with a ruler. For beauty, you can put a round metal bell tied to a beautiful string in the middle. Then the bells hung on the door or on the Christmas tree will be able to make beautiful melodic sounds.

The plates can be painted in any color, but gold, yellow or silver is preferable. If you cover the product with glitter, then in the light of the garland the bells will shimmer beautifully.

To prevent the ends of the plate from moving apart, before making a paper bell with your own hands (see photo above), you can fasten the edges with a stapler, since the glue may not hold tight edges. If you have a glue gun, then you can use it.

Ribbed bells

To make such ribbed bells from cardboard, you will have to draw a template and cut out 5-6 individual elements from it, which will then need to be glued together.

Here's what the pattern is:

  • Draw an isosceles triangle.
  • From the corners of the base, we lower two parallel lines of any length, depending on the size of the bell, and connect them together. It turns out to be a rectangle.
  • All that remains is to draw a trapezoid from below. This will be the lower extension of the bell.

In order for the parts to be glued together, you need to leave an additional 0.5 cm of paper on each side, onto which glue will be applied. Then all the wedges are put together. After complete drying, all that remains is to beautifully paint the product and hang it on the Christmas tree.

Papier mache

Master class on how to make a paper bell with your own hands using the papier-mâché technique, read on. You can take a real metal bell for pasting. Or you can choose a similar shaped cup or glass. You will need:

  • paste;
  • vegetable oil;
  • old newspapers or scribbled unnecessary notebooks;
  • water;
  • colored or white napkins.

Let us remind you how to make papier-mâché:

  1. The mold is greased with vegetable oil so that the product comes off well after drying. They do this with cotton wool.
  2. Then the first layer of torn paper is applied without paste, and the pieces of paper are simply dipped in a bowl of water.
  3. The next layers need to be dipped in paste and applied in layers. There must be at least 4 layers.
  4. Then place the mold in a warm place to dry.
  5. When the bell is completely dry, it can be painted or covered with a compressed napkin, as in the photo.
  6. Then a small hole is punched in the upper part and a bow or rope is tied.

Bouquet of bluebells

Now you know how to make a paper bell with your own hands. It’s also easy to make a flower of the same shape. It is enough to cut out a rectangle from tissue paper and cut one edge into semicircles.

Then you just need to fold the paper. The bottom of the cylinder is glued to a wire wrapped in green paper. Having made 3-5 flowers, you can put a bouquet of bells in a vase.

As you can see, creating masterpieces is not difficult. So get your kids involved in manual labor. This develops the child well and brings him closer to his parents.

It is better to prepare for the New Year in advance. Making your own bells for the New Year tree is a good idea. Even in the writings of ancient authors, the ability of bells to ward off evil forces was reflected. There are many options for making bells from scrap materials. We have selected the most original of them.

We will need:

  • Bandage or gauze.
  • Eggshell.
  • PVA glue.
  • Brush.
  • Paints (including gold).
  • Putty, beads, semolina (optional).

Manufacturing method No. 1

Take the shell and bandage. We glue the bandage “overlapping” with PVA glue.

We strengthen our bell, it should dry well.

Prime with white paint so that the shell does not show through. When the bandage is dry, cut out the petals with scissors.

Make a hole at the top with a sharp object. The hole is needed for the lace. Glue the husk on top and paint it.

The bells are painted with Easter dyes + watercolors. The leaves of the bells can be safely bent back.

Manufacturing method No. 2

We take the shell, bandage and PVA glue. We glue the shell inside. This is also a way to strengthen the shell. Let it dry on the battery. Then we cover the outside with white paint.

We cut off everything unnecessary using scissors. Easy to cut.

Afterwards we apply putty and you can paint it with a pattern. Let it dry. We paint and go over the bulges with gold paint. Make a hole at the top for the lace.

You can decorate the top with beads, you can make a “spraying” of semolina. Coat the top with a brush with glue and sprinkle with semolina. Let's use our imagination and make a toy.

For 1 bell you will need:

  1. Expanded polystyrene or cardboard (cone, mini size).
  2. Yarn or twine.
  3. Felt.
  4. Palettes.
  5. Decorations.

Tools:

  1. Universal glue.
  2. Scissors.
  3. Needle.
  4. Tweezers.

We will need:

  1. Plastic cups.
  2. Branch of an artificial Christmas tree.
  3. Spray paint.
  4. Glue.
  5. Beads.
  6. Ribbons.
  7. A piece of lace.

Take two plastic cups (you can use yogurt cups). We spray paint the cups and the spruce branch. The color can be any: golden, silver, bright red.

While the cups are drying, prepare the decoration. You can cut flowers from lace and guipure. We sew beads into the middle.

We coat the flowers with glue and attach them to the bell.

We wrap the edges with yarn.

We take a beautiful ribbon, gather it in the middle with a thread and a needle and make a lush bow.

We fasten the bow with a needle and thread. We hang them on the tree or glue the bells together at an angle, glue them to a spruce branch and hang them with tape on the wall.

A good fisherman's equipment is always in perfect order. After all, otherwise you won’t be able to wait for a rich catch. A big role when assembling the tackle is played by the bite alarm, which must be quite sensitive in time to record the fact of the approach of the fish, thereby prompting the fisherman the time to hook and fish.

Many commercial alarms are similar in principle of operation. There are devices that perform both sound and light functions. It is quite possible to make a simple mechanical device like a bell or rattle with your own hands, which will be no worse than purchased models, and the savings will be decent. The bell is mainly used for feeder fishing by attaching it to the tip of the spinning rod.

As vibrations appear in the water, the device will begin to make sounds, and the fisherman will no longer miss his prey. How to make a bell yourself with good sensitivity when casting gear over long distances, what material is required, how the device will operate should be considered in more detail in the form of step-by-step instructions in this article.

How to make a bell with your own hands?

A bell is a simple acoustic bite alarm, the features of which include:

How to catch more fish?

I have been active fishing for quite some time and have found many ways to improve the bite. But it was and remains the most effective.

It attracts fish in cold and warm water with the help of pheromones included in the composition and stimulates their appetite. Suitable for both summer and winter fishing.

  • no interference when fishing;
  • cheap and can be invented from scrap materials;
  • ease of use;
  • quick bite recognition;
  • sound signals without delay;
  • Can be used for day or night fishing.

During fishing, the alarm begins to act like a rattle, immediately emitting vibrations in the water when biting. Of course, you can buy a regular bell in a store and make modifications to improve the signals.

To save money, it’s easy to make the device yourself at home:

  • cut a ring 1.5 cm long from a rubber hose with thin walls (3 mm in diameter);
  • make a small cut on one side of the hose to obtain an oval;
  • pull off one side of the rubber, cut;
  • pass a bolt of a suitable size through the bell eye;
  • drill a small hole along the diameter of the bolt on the cut side of the rubber ring;
  • insert the bolt through this hole with the head facing inward;
  • wind the fishing line around a circle 1 m long;
  • tighten in the form of a loop;
  • connect the bell, tightening it with a nut;
  • screw in another nut to secure the first one.

The result should be a bell with a rubber hook, which will remain suspended on the fishing line closer to the tip of the fishing rod to avoid losing the device at the time of hooking.

This design is quite simple and will begin to work immediately after casting the tackle and when the fish approaches.

What will you need for this?

For mounting a bell, the material at hand can actually be anything:

  • springs, contacts from an old alarm clock;
  • pieces of plastic;
  • LEDs (can be removed from an old mobile phone);
  • batteries (3 V);
  • reed switch (can be removed from any radio component);
  • magnet for mounting to a metal plate;
  • insulating tape;
  • metal thin plates;
  • light tubes to simplify the process of tracking fishing when fishing on a feeder at night;
  • dye.

Tools

To make a classic version of a bell-shaped rattle you will need:

  • clips, ordinary clothespins for fixing to the feeder tackle;
  • rubber band for securing the bell;
  • wire;
  • nuts or bolts;
  • threads;
  • needle;
  • hollow balls with bearings to create a sound effect;
  • spiral wire (10-12 cm length);
  • LED, indicator, if desired, make an electronic luminous device.

A bell as a bite alarm is an excellent device when fishing on a feeder for modern hooking.

Manufacturing

You can make a signaling device even better than other purchased models, which often malfunction. This way the bell can turn out to be correct, which will avoid false bites and fish escapes, and it can be used for quite a long time. When hooking, the device will not fly off the tackle, and therefore interfere with the fishing process.

When making a simple homemade sound device, the steps are as follows:

  • take the spiral wire 10-12 cm long;
  • take the bells in the form of two hollow balls with bearings inside;
  • attach to the wire;
  • place a clothespin on one side of the wire, press one of the sides of the bell;
  • attach the bells to the tackle stand, leaving a small gap to ensure free movement of the bell and timely transmission of vibrations on the water.

To produce a mechanical side bite alarm for fishing with bottom tackle, thereby providing the best signals on the water, which is important in difficult weather conditions you can go the following way:

  • take a springy steel wire 20 cm long;
  • give it an arc shape;
  • attach one end to a metal tube by first drilling a hole and bending the tube at an angle of 90 degrees
  • attach the wire to the tube using Moment glue
  • process all connections;
  • select a mounting clamp and drill holes in it;
  • insert the tube into it so that it is parallel to the fishing rod;
  • screw the tube into the hole so that it is fixed quite steadily and does not move;
  • put the clamp on the fishing rod.

Such a signaling device will bend to the feeder when the tackle is pulled at the moment of bites.

pros

Bells are simple mechanical sound structures that you can make with your own hands, having handy materials on hand. There are different variations of attaching the structure to feeder or spinning gear.

The main advantages of a simple device:

  • excellent performance in any weather;
  • Possibility of use when fishing in reservoirs with winding banks and many cliffs;
  • adaptability to modifications as necessary by manufacturing, for example, electronic devices;
  • no breakdowns when wet or sudden jerks of the fish
  • ease of use;
  • no interference when fishing due to the lightness of the device;
  • creating a rather enjoyable fishing experience.

The main thing is to assemble the bell correctly so that the signals do not arrive late, and the device accurately predicts the moments for making hooks, especially when catching fish from a long distance.

Improvement of the bite alarm “bell”

You can increase the sensitivity and functionality of the alarm if you modify it, again on your own, without buying expensive devices.

So, in order to obtain a device with a firefly - a beacon, you will need to work:

  • foil or chocolate wrappers, which can be twisted into a tube around the main fishing line;
  • side nod in the form of a metal rod by attaching one end to the top of the feeder tackle to increase sensitivity;
  • chemical capsules(2 pcs) with a substance inside to create a glow on the water, when a chemical reaction occurs as a result of one capsule bursting and mixing with the contents of another;
  • piezoelectric element, which can be taken as the basis for the design;
  • magnet with sensor when, when connecting elements, sound signals will quickly arrive at the sensor;
  • squeaker, taken out of a children's toy to make an electronic device yourself;
  • pendulum indicators to repel bites when using bottom gear;
  • plastic tube with a loop at the end for connecting a bell.

On a note! When using a pendulum indicator, the main thing is to install it correctly in relation to the fishing rod, i.e. at an angle of 45 degrees, so that it promptly reflects the strengthening and weakening of the tensioned main line.

So, as a simple modification to add a light effect to the bell, you can take 2 chemical ampoules and attach them to the top of the fishing rod or the side nod. The indicator will begin to create the effect of photoluminescence and glow on water when one ampoule is destroyed and the chemical compositions are mixed. When biting, you will need to pull the feeder rod slightly towards you. The bites will be clearly visible even with a strong current in the reservoir.

Modification of the bite alarm holder

As they gain experience, many fishermen begin to finalize and modify their gear, taking into account the characteristics of the reservoir and weather conditions. Usually, modifications take place directly at the fishing site by using handy materials or materials found by chance.

To modify the alarm holder, which is important when arranging a large number of gear and visually tracking everything at the same time, you need:

  • take a rubber hose with a diameter of 3 cm and thin walls;
  • cut a ring 15 cm wide;
  • make a cut on the ring;
  • thread it through the ear of the bell;
  • secure with a bolt.

Hand-made bells have a special sound that can no longer be confused with the sounds of nearby fishermen - neighbors.

Assembling the “bell”

The feeder itself is quite sensitive gear, but with a strong gust of wind or breaking waves, the visibility of bites is significantly reduced. In this case, a side signaling device or a quivertip, which you can buy, comes to the rescue.

If the homemade device in the form of a rattle or bell is ready, then all that remains is to assemble it and test it in operation:

  • attach a nod to a fishing rod, placing it on a plastic clamp at an angle of 45 degrees;
  • stretch out through a nod main line;
  • bend down as close to the fishing rod as possible;
  • mount at the end of the arc is a magnet;
  • connect the battery to the fishing rod, LED, tweeter, reed switch, if you need to create a light and sound device;
  • attach the bell to the fishing line wire to achieve greater sound;
  • make a vertical cut in the lower part of the tube, retreating approximately 1/3 from its height;
  • stop the structure a locking ring so that it moves heavily back and forth in order to determine the degree of depth of the gear when lowered into the water.

If you buy a regular bell, you can assemble the alarm as follows:

  • take a wine cork, drill a hole in the middle for the bell;
  • pierce the cork diagonally with a needle and thread so that the needle goes into the drilled hole;
  • drop a little glue onto the ear of the bell;
  • drill a hole in the cork so that the eye fits tightly;
  • after the glue has dried, make a slot for the fishing line over the cork;
  • connect the structure together, leaving a free end of the fishing line of the required length.

Thus, you can make an electronic alarm yourself and thereby simplify the fishing process.

Price

The price of bells can vary from 15 to 240 rubles, depending on the material used and the accessories included in the model:

  • single bell brand SIWEDIA – 8-10 rub. .;
  • double bell made of plastic with a clothespin - 9 RUR .;
  • bell in the form of double bells – 10-12 rub. .;
  • luminescent firefly – 10-12 rub. .;
  • device with double firefly nest - 15 rub. .;
  • device in the form of a large round bell in gold - 39 RUR .;
  • sleeve on a clothespin - 54 RUR .

Experienced fishermen are quick to advise:

  • use a more sensitive nod when making a bell made of a thin metal plate;
  • when using light tubes to make fireflies, it is advisable to paint them in bright colors;
  • It is preferable to make side bite alarms yourself rather than buying expensive devices that can quickly break down or cannot withstand getting wet or sudden jerks of fish;
  • When casting gear, it is better to turn off the sound alarm, so as not to unnecessarily disturb the fish that may be nearby.

If the bell is properly made using diagrams, instructions and recommendations from experienced fishermen, it is quite possible to make a good alarm with efficiency and functionality no worse than that of other purchased models.

How long has it been since you had a really BIG CATCH?

When was the last time you caught dozens of HUGE pike/carp/bream?

We always want to get results from fishing - to catch not three perch, but ten kilogram pikes - what a catch! Each of us dreams of this, but not everyone can do it.

A good catch can be achieved (and we know this) thanks to good bait.

It can be prepared at home or bought in fishing stores. But stores are expensive, and to prepare bait at home, you need to spend a lot of time, and, to tell the truth, homemade bait does not always work well.

You know that disappointment when you buy bait or prepare it at home and only catch three or four bass?

So maybe it’s time to use a truly working product, the effectiveness of which has been proven both scientifically and in practice on the rivers and ponds of Russia?

It gives the same result that we cannot achieve on our own, especially since it is cheap, which distinguishes it from other means and there is no need to spend time on production - you order it, it’s delivered and you’re good to go!

Of course, it is better to try once than to hear a thousand times. Moreover, now is the season! This is a great bonus when ordering!
