Costumes in the game Assassin's Creed 3

The appearance of the main characters - Altair, Ezio and Connor - changed throughout the Assassin's Creed game series, as did the era in which they had to fight the Templar Order. In AC3, suits are divided into two types: simple(those that can be bought at any store in New York and Boston) and special(those that are given only as special rewards or after certain conditions are met during the story). All costumes now serve as simple clothing for Connor, they no longer affect the level of armor or the maximum amount of health, and they cannot be improved directly, only with the help of items that can be crafted. The cost of simple suits varies according to the area from which they were brought for sale. The appearance of new costumes will be announced directly in the game. The notification appears in the top right corner of the screen. Special costumes stored in the basement of the Davenport estate where Achilles lives. Here you can change them, changing clothes right at the counters. To get to the basement, you need to enter the estate through the eastern door, go to the lamp on the wall and pull it down. The door to the basement will open. Simple costumes can be changed in stores, provided that Connor is wearing an assassin costume, which is issued after Chapter 5.

Introducing you to the gameplay features Assassin's Creed III, it's time to move on to visual details.

The Brotherhood of Assassins has always tried not to advertise their activities, preferring to act in the shadows, attacking from places where they are least expected. This type of activity requires some precautions, the most striking of which is perhaps the presence of a hood in assassin costumes. However, this does not mean at all that members of the order could not dress stylishly and elegantly.

The final version of Connor's costume.

"Rough" version of Connor's costume.

Famous Florentine assassin Ezio Auditore throughout his active life, described in detail in AC2, Brotherhood of Blood and Revelations, he did not forget to regularly update his wardrobe: from simple cloaks and capes, to the Armor of Altair and Brutus left as a gift. Also Connor Kenway has the opportunity not only to go shopping and choose clothes according to size and the latest fashion, but also to acquire more unique alternative costumes. To open them, you will need to complete a number of quests and additional tasks, where you will need to show all your assassin dexterity and ingenuity. Once the task is completed, you will be able to find a new outfit in my wardrobe, in the basement of Achilles' house.

In total, the game offers us 15 different variations on the theme of the appearance of Connor's clothes. Six of them, without any problems, can be purchased in shops in Boston and New York after achieving certain progress in completing the main plot of the game. You will receive four more by completing a number of side tasks and quests. Two costumes will be added to your wardrobe upon completion of the storyline tasks, and two more are present in the game as additional downloadable content. And your closet will get fatter by one with the help of the in-game service Uplay, which is located in the game menu, where you can purchase this costume.

The costumes themselves do not in any way affect the gameplay or plot of the game and only have aesthetic value.

I would also like to remember such a thing as armor. She's gone. Don't believe me? But in vain! Our prayers were heard, and there is no more armor in the game. Hurray, comrades! Um, I think I got a little carried away.

Let's move on to the costumes. Right under the title italics it is written how you can get this or that suit. Once again, for the distrustful - all things become available in the basement of Achilles' house.

When we first find ourselves in the basement of the Davenport estate, we can see a long empty shelf with hangers. It's easy to guess that each hanger is a slot that can be filled. In our case, a slot for an outfit.

This mini-guide is dedicated specifically to collecting all the costumes.

Alas, in this part the developers decided not to be sophisticated, and therefore we will immediately warn you that none of the costumes provide any bonuses or improvements other than aesthetic pleasure. In a captain's suit, you will not inspire more respect in sailors who could handle the rigging more quickly, and an Indian costume will not allow you to better camouflage yourself in the grass, getting closer to the waipiti (and there was a time, there was a time when a good cloak with the “correct” coat of arms inspired the guards are in awe).

So let's get started.

This is what the shelf will look like after you unlock all the costumes.

Let's refute a popular myth floating around the Internet. The empty slot on the screen is a hanger for the costume that you are wearing at the moment, and not at all a slot for Desmond’s costume (Desmond’s skin in Assassin’s Creed 3, by the way, cannot be obtained by any of the “built-in” methods (in There is no list of hacks for Animus either)).

If you see a row of hangers, then there is no point in describing the standard assassin outfit - you already got it. One has only to add that in addition to the blue and white colors, there are six more cute styles that match the colors of a particular US city. You can find them in travel shops in major cities.

And finally, let's stop wagging our tongues and start getting custom costumes.

Altair's Outfit

This is the most honorable garment. To get the Altair outfit, you need to complete the main story with 100% synchronization (again: 100% is only needed for the main sequences, and not for ALL missions, as some guides write). The costume is ideal for creating screenshots and videos (look, and envy me everyone who has not completed the story on max), in this costume you can declare that the game is easy)))

Achilles' old outfit

During the story, we see a cut-scene in which Achilles gives us this suit in exchange for a painting from a burnt house in New York (side quest “Picture of Achilles” in the Estate - Achilles chain). But in fact, this outfit can be found on the hanger only after we finish ALL the missions of the estate (the final cut-scenes for each of the residents do not need to be watched).

Website editor's note:

Apparently, during development, the scriptwriters planned to make the mission with the default picture the last in the chain of “estate tasks,” but the programmers forgot to specify the corresponding trigger, which led to a glitch.

It is worth noting that the style of Achilles’s outfit is much less consistent with the fashion of the early 17th century than the suit that hangs on the ninth hanger. The mistake is obvious - the costumes were clearly mixed up by the developers, and everyone got a beautiful costume for free, while buyers of collectibles received an old-fashioned (and very unpopular among the people) skin.

L'Aquila captain's uniform

A very beautiful suit that opens automatically after completing the 6th sequence owners of collector's editions Assassins Creed 3. Automatically equips every time we start a naval mission (besides missions with Bling). A very worthy answer to everyone who considers Indians to be monkeys.

Captain Kidd's Outfit

According to legend, Captain Kidd was a great pirate who was charmed by bullets and kept all ships in the Caribbean at bay. We can find his costume in Kidd's chest on Oak Island, in the final mission of One-Legged, along with a very nice bonus for those who like to carry out massacres and often find themselves under bullets.

Ezio's Outfit

A costume from the Brotherhood era (without armor). This outfit can be unlocked starting from the 7th sequence when purchasing Ezio's Outfit in uPlay (price - 30 points). Press Shift+F2 at any time in the game and select Rewards to make a purchase.

The costume is ideal for completing special recruit missions (after all, Ezio remains in the memory of many of us as the Teacher of Assassins), so don’t skimp on purchasing points (besides).

Ganyageha Outfit

Authentic outfit of the Ganyageha Indian tribe. An outfit similar to the one we first meet Connor in. To get it you need to collect all the feathers on the map. Considering that cards of all feathers are sold in stores starting from the 6th sequence, then getting this costume becomes a completely trivial task. The suit creates a good atmosphere for hunting and long walks on the Frontier (or along the branches of its trees).

Prisoner's outfit

Opens automatically after completing the 8th sequence. Similar to the same skin that we had in prison.

Note: prisoner's rags and Indian attire are two outfits that show an open head. Interestingly, regardless of Connor's actual hairstyle, in these outfits the hairstyle will be the same as the hero had in the 6th sequence.

Colonial Assassin's Outfit

From the description of "Achilles' old outfit" you already realized that this suit with a cap is hanging out of place. Nevertheless, it turned out as it did. The Colonial Assassin outfit turned out to be bonus content, and will be unlocked automatically after completing the 6th sequence.

In conclusion, we’ll just add that, although the new outfits have moved from the category of skins to the category of costumes, all the glitches familiar to us from past games have not gone away. In all cutscenes we see the costume that was planned by the developers, regardless of what we are wearing at the moment. Moreover, if during the course of the plot you are wearing an assassin outfit (the first hanger), then it will always be white and blue, regardless of the colors of which city its elements are painted.

In general, don't expect much from the costumes. This is just a small piece in the big fan base of the game.
