Children's knitted fingerless gloves. How to knit mitts correctly - mk in different ways for beginners. Long crochet mitts

Yarn "Brilliant" 45% wool, 55% acrylic, 100 g / 380 m.

5 stocking needles # 2.

Knitting density 2.7 sts per cm.

The girth of the hand is 20 cm.

There are different ways to knit gloves with knitting needles, here we will tell you how to knit gloves in the classic way: on five knitting needles in a circle, starting from the wrist. Gloves can be knitted with openwork, jacquard, embossed patterns. But since this section is intended for beginners, we will consider the technique of knitting gloves in a simple version, when the gloves are knitted with hosiery.

Taking measurements

To knit gloves, take the following measurements:

wrist circumference (Ok) - 20 cm (we measure the widest part of the wrist, the measuring tape fits snugly around the hand);

the length of the hand from the wrist to the base of the thumb is 6 cm;

the length of the hand from the wrist to the base of the little finger is 9 cm;

the length of the hand from the wrist to the base of the index finger is 10 cm.

Taking measurements for gloves

Start knitting gloves

As always, starting work, we knit a control sample and determine the knitting density. In our case, it turned out Pg = 2.7 loops per cm.

Determining the required number of loops for knitting gloves is not so easy, following a straightforward calculation. Gloves should fit snugly around your hand to fit nicely and be comfortable to wear. Therefore, gloves are knitted somewhat narrower than the girth of the hand. How much narrower depends on the pattern, on how much it stretches, as well as on the elasticity of the yarn. Sometimes you have to bandage several times to achieve a good result. In our case, when gloves are knitted with hosiery, it is enough to take for the calculation a value that is 1 cm less than the girth of the hand. We get: (Ok - 1) x Pg = (20-1) x 2.7 = 51.3. Let's round the result to a number that is evenly divisible by 4, we get 52 loops, 13 for each knitting needle.

In order to make it more convenient to explain the technique of knitting gloves, let's assign the numbering to the knitting needles:

Knitting gloves: knitting needles

We begin to knit the glove from the cuff. The width of the cuff can be any (usually 6 - 9 cm); we will tie a 7 cm wide cuff with 1x1 elastic. So, we cast on 4 knitting needles of 13 loops, we close the knitting in a circle, connecting the thread from the ball with the end left from the set of loops and knitting 6-7 loops into two threads, so that the circle closes more tightly. We knit the cuff around the outer circle clockwise. Having knitted 4 rows with dark gray yarn, we knit a finishing strip with light gray yarn, also 4 rows, then 4 rows with dark gray and another finishing strip with light gray yarn.

Knitting a wedge for the thumb of a glove

The wedge of the thumb of the gloves begins to knit immediately from the elastic or by knitting several rows (1 - 2 cm) with the main knit. We'll start knitting the wedge right away from the elastic.

On the right glove, the wedge is located at the beginning of the first spoke, on the left glove, at the end of the fourth spoke. A wedge is performed by adding loops. Let's start knitting with the right glove. Before the first loop on the first knitting needle, make a yarn over, then knit one knit stitch and make a yarn over again. Hereinafter, to illustrate the performance of some operations, we photographed the glove in a larger size than it actually is (made of blue yarn).

Start knitting the thumb wedge

We knit the next 3 circles without adding. We make a second addition: in front of the first loop of the yarn, then we knit already 3 loops, then the yarn. We perform the following additions every 3 circles, while between the yarns you will need to knit an odd number of loops: 1-3-5-7-9, etc.

When the height of the wedge reaches the base of the thumb (6 cm), we stop adding. In our case, the wedge fell after adding 13 loops. We knitted yarns without lace, and this is what we got:

Glove thumb wedge

If you want openwork finishing holes to form along the edges of the wedge, you need to knit yarn overs.

Now we reshoot the wedge loops into two pins: 6 and 7 loops each. We collect 6 air loops above them: the same number as on one pin (it is better to dial an even number).

Glove Thumb Wedge: Air Loop Set

We knit one full circle, and then we begin to decrease: we knit two loops together along the edges of the hole, until 1 loop remains from the wedge, and on the first knitting needle again 13 loops.

Knitting a wedge for the thumb of a glove: decreasing loops

After that, we knit the glove to the base of the little finger (in our case, 3 more rows) and distribute the loops for knitting the fingers.

Divide the loops of the glove into 8 parts: 52: 8 = 6 loops and 4 loops in the remainder. For each finger - 2 parts: one for the upper half, the other for the lower half. Distribute the remainder evenly, attaching one loop to the loops of the upper halves. Now there are 13 loops for each finger. If the remainder is less than 4, then it is added to the loops of the fingers, starting with the index.

Then, 2 more loops are attached to the loops of the index finger, subtracting them from the loops of the ring finger. We get: for the little finger - 13 loops, for the ring finger - 11 loops, for the middle finger - 13 loops, for the index finger - 15 loops. Next, we form jumpers between the fingers of 3-4 (in our case, of 3) air loops. We apply the resulting result to the scheme and knit, focusing on it.

Pattern of distribution of loops when knitting gloves

Pinky hole

The little finger loops are located partly on the 2nd, partly on the 3rd spoke. We knit the loops of the 2nd knitting needle to the loops of the little finger and remove 6 untied loops on a pin. On another pin, remove 7 loops from the 3rd knitting needle. After that, we cast on the 2nd knitting needle 3 air loops and then we knit the remaining loops on the 3rd knitting needle, continue to knit in a circle 4 - 5 rows to the base of the index finger.

Now we will distribute the loops on the pins in accordance with the scheme:

little finger - 6 loops from the side of the palm and 7 loops from the back;

ring finger, taking into account 3 loops of the jumper - 7 loops each;

middle finger - 6 loops from the palm side and 7 loops from the back.

Index finger - 7 loops from the palm side and 8 loops from the back side we leave on the needles.

In general, the general rule is this: when distributing an odd number of loops, most of them fall on the back of the hand.

Distribution of finger loops

Knitting the index finger

The index finger loops are located on the 1st and 4th needles for a total of 15 loops. We knit 4 loops on the first knitting needle, then insert a new knitting needle, knit the remaining 3 loops from the first knitting needle and cast on one air loop; then we again introduce a new knitting needle, type 2 air loops on it and knit 3 more loops from the 4th knitting needle. We got 4 loops on the 1st and 2nd knitting needles and 5 loops on the 3rd and 4th, for a total of 18 loops.

Start knitting your index finger

We knit a finger in a circle to the beginning of the nail or to its middle (if the nails are long) and finish the finger: at the beginning of the 1st and 3rd knitting needles and at the end of the 2nd and 4th knitting needles we knit 2 loops together through a row. When there are 1 - 2 loops on the knitting needle, tighten the loops with a needle or crochet, fasten and hide the end of the thread on the wrong side. The completion of the rest of the fingers of the glove is performed in a similar manner.

Finger completion

Knitting middle finger

There are 19 loops on the middle finger (13 loops from pins plus 3 loops from two jumpers). Loops from pins, designed for knitting the middle finger, are transferred to two knitting needles. The knitting needle facing the palm is conventionally called the first. We attach the thread from the ball and knit 4 loops from the first knitting needle; then we introduce a new knitting needle and knit the 2 remaining loops from the first knitting needle and throw in 3 air loops for the jumper; then we take a new knitting needle and knit 5 loops from the second knitting needle; then again we take a new knitting needle and knit the remaining 2 loops from the second knitting needle and collect 3 loops from the jumper of the index finger. The loops were distributed as follows: on one knitting needle 4 loops and on three knitting needles 5 loops each. Next, knit the finger in the same way as the index finger: in a circle and then complete.

Knitting the ring finger

We transfer the loops from the pins, intended for knitting the ring finger, to the knitting needles. The knitting needle facing the palm, as well as when knitting the middle, will conditionally be called the first. We attach the thread from the ball and knit 4 loops from the first knitting needle; then we introduce a new knitting needle and knit the 3 remaining loops from the 1st knitting needle and 1 loop from the second; then re-insert the knitting needle and knit 4 loops from the second; then we knit the remaining 2 loops from the second knitting needle and 3 loops we collect from the jumper of the middle finger. The ring finger loops were divided into 4 needles: on three needles, 4 loops each and on one needle 5 loops. Next, knit the finger in the same way as the previous ones.

Knitting the little finger

We reshoot the loops from the pins on 2 knitting needles. Next, we distribute the loops in the same way as the ring finger: 4 loops each turn out, taking into account that we collect 3 loops from the jumper of the ring finger. Next, we knit and complete the finger in the same way as everyone else.

Knitting the thumb

We transfer the loops from the pins to 2 knitting needles: on the right knitting needle it turned out 6 loops, on the left - 7. Attach the thread from the ball and knit 5 loops from the right knitting needle; then we introduce a new knitting needle, knit 1 remaining loop from the right knitting needle and 4 loops from the left; re-insert a new knitting needle and knit the 3 remaining loops from the left knitting needle and dial 2 loops from the upper edge of the hole; then on a new knitting needle we collect 5 loops from the upper edge of the hole. It turned out to knit a thumb in 5 loops on four knitting needles, a total of 20 loops. Next, knit the finger in a circle and finish it, like everyone else.

Left glove we knit in a mirror image, while the wedge of the thumb is performed on the 4th knitting needle: we knit all the loops, except for the last one, then we make a yarn over, knit the last loop and yarn over again, then knit in the same way as with the right glove.

The gloves are ready.

New gloves just to measure

A fashionable accessory for ladies' toilet, which does not lose its relevance from the 18th century to the present day, mitts (fingerless gloves) perform not only a practical function of protection from the cold, but also an aesthetic one, effectively decorating delicate women's hands.

Experienced modern knitters have long learned to combine both of these functions, creating magnificent examples of warm and surprisingly beautiful patterns.

Types of mitts

The variety of types of yarn and the boundless imagination of the craftswomen, combined together, give rise to more and more new types of these accessories. And if earlier the models of mitts were really gloves with not completely tied fingers, today, in addition to these elegant classic options, peculiar "pipes" with one cut for the thumb are becoming very popular. To understand how to knit mitts with knitting needles, let's figure out the basics of doing this work on several models. And let's start with the most simple ones.

Knitting mitts for beginners: material and tools

Inexperienced knitters should start with the "pipe". This is the simplest option. We will knit on five stocking needles No. 3 with medium-thick yarn - semi-wool or pure wool - 250 meters in a hundred-gram skein. We choose mitts, the knitting pattern of which is very simple: without elastic, ordinary stocking stitch with a “shred” effect, that is, by alternating rollers. It is quite light in execution, but an effective pattern that gives additional volume. It looks great both on a plain garment and on a canvas knitted from a sectional dyed thread.

In order not to be mistaken in counting the rows, we will use a counter, which is a small cylinder with two windows for numbers that determine the number of rows knitted. Using it is simple: putting on a knitting needle, set the row number, for example, 01, knit all the loops on 4 knitting needles, transfer the row number to 02, and thus knit further. We make a set of loops in any usual way. The length of the tail of the thread, which should be left for this, is equal to four girths of the palm. When using yarn of the specified thickness, we collect 40 loops - 10 for each knitting needle, and close it in a ring. We put on the row counter on the first knitting needle, set the first row.

"Pipes" - mitts: job description

These are rather long mitts. The knitting pattern is as follows: we knit 20 rows with stocking stitch, then we make rollers on two opposite needles - count down 10 rows, dial 5 stitches from the inside out on an additional knitting needle and pull it to the 21st row. Combining both knitting needles in the hand, we knit 2 loops (from the main and additional knitting needles), pulling the thread through both. Thus, we make a roller on one spoke. We knit the next 10 loops with the second without changes, and on the third again we make the same roller of five loops raised from the 10th row, knitted together with the loops on the main one. We also knit the last 10 loops with the front ones.

We have knitted row 21. This pattern is also very good because it is repeated every 15 rows, that is, you can safely knit without fear of getting lost, which is often the case with novice craftswomen when choosing complex, constantly repeating weaves. So, we knit further mitts. The knitting pattern is repeated: we set the counter again to the first row, and we knit the next 15 rows. On the 16th row, we make rollers. This time they need to be made not on the 1st and 3rd knitting needles, but on the 2nd and 4th, that is, they should be staggered. Having finished the 16th row with the rollers, we again transfer the counter to the 1st row and knit in this key to the desired length to the hole for the thumb.

Thumb slit

These knitted mitts are easy to design, since you don't have to knit the fabric for the thumb here.

Only the cut is performed, the fabric for which we will unfold, that is, we knit on both sides. To decorate the cut beautifully, we will make the edge loops double:

The last loop, without knitting, we leave on the right knitting needle and, lifting the loop from the bottom row, we knit it with the front one. In other words, they added one loop to the untied edge. This spoke has 11 stitches.

We turn the work to the wrong side.

We put on the counter placed on the first row.

We knit from the inside out all the loops with the wrong side, without knitting the last one on the 4th knitting needle.

Next to the last loop from the bottom row, pull out another one and knit it with a purl.

Next, we turn the fabric over to the front side and knit like this: remove the first loop without knitting, knit the rest with the front ones. We also knit from the inside out. Double lip seals the cut edges without causing much stretch. The fabric is knitted on both sides to the desired height - about 12 rows. In this case, we must not forget about the main pattern - the rollers. They should be knitted according to a given algorithm - after 15 rows in a checkerboard pattern.

End of work

As soon as the fabric with a cut for the thumb has been tied, we switch to circular knitting on 4 needles, closing the work into a ring. But first, we knit the last two loops of the front row together one, and the next two (already on the 1st knitting needle) also together with one loop - after all, at the beginning of knitting, we added two edge loops to design the cut.

After that, we carry out the work, in the same way as before, making rollers and trying on the product on hand. Having knitted to the desired height, we close the canvas in the usual way, completing 2 loops and stretching one into the other. We carefully hide the remaining end of the thread on the wrong side. Now, half of the work is done. The second mitt is knitted in the same way.

Long mitts with knitting needles: knitting pattern

Mitts, tied in the described way, can be of any length, but not everyone likes the extra volume created by the "cloquet" effect. Many people prefer the classic weaves of braids on long, even mitts. You can knit such products by choosing the appropriate braid pattern. It must be borne in mind that the number of loops is limited: we will proceed from the calculation presented above - 40 loops with yarn of medium thickness (250 m / 100 g). We will knit patterned long mitts with knitting needles, a detailed description of knitting of which is as follows: first we select a pattern (not necessarily complicated, even the simplest braids look great on a flat cloth).

Calculation and execution of the drawing

For our example, we will knit a central braid on the upper side of the mitts. The braid will be located on the seamy surface, and the inner side of the product will be tied with the front fabric. We collect 40 loops on 4 knitting needles and close the knitting into a ring. Next, we disassemble the loops in this way: on the 1st and 2nd knitting needles - the front surface, all the loops are knitted with the front ones. On the 3rd and 4th knitting needles we will knit a pattern, and before starting the braid, we will perform a piece of elastic 1 x 1. It is better to combine the loops, collecting all 20 on one knitting needle. And we will knit the first 20 rows like this: purl 4, then 12 loops with an elastic band 1 x 1, purl 4.

From the 21st row we knit mitts with knitting needles. Knitting pattern with braids: we will perform a braid from 12 central loops of the elastic band, making weaves - remove 6 loops on an additional knitting needle and transfer it to work, knit 6 loops from the main needle, then from the additional one. For greater relief, the braid can be knitted not with the front, but continued with an elastic band, alternating the front and back loops. We use the row counter so as not to be mistaken in the height of the braids weaves, for example, we weave every 8-10 rows, and again set the counter to the first row. This algorithm is maintained throughout the entire knitting of the product.

We knit "half-finger"

This version of mitts is more complicated. Instead of a thumb cut, we will knit a half-finger. Having tied the canvas to the base of the thumb, on the border between the back and inner sides of the product, we select the central loop, on both sides of which we begin to make increments in each row. Having typed a sufficient number of loops to girth the finger, we knit a "half-finger" 2.5 - 3 cm high with additional knitting needles and close it in the usual way, and the main fabric is carried out further. "Half-finger" can be knitted round on three knitting needles or with an unfolded cloth, which is then neatly sewn together. On two mitts, "half-fingers" are made in a mirror image. The most important thing is not to knock off the pattern, continuing to knit it to the required height.

End of knitting

Having tied the canvas to the base of the fingers, you can go to the initial drawing (a fragment of an elastic band 1 x 1 on the seamy surface). Or, by knitting the pattern another 2-3 cm, close the loops and finish the work. Patterned mitts, knitted, finished. For knitting such products, you can choose more complex options for suitable braids or arans.

Mitts, knitted with a front satin stitch and decorated with teeth and openwork stripes along the bottom and top of the product, also look great. Skillfully made mitts, the knitting pattern of which is proposed, will also delight knitters not only with the brevity of the classic pattern, but also with practicality.

The most complex openwork mitts

Knitting of openwork involves the selection of a thinner thread, since lace products are a festive option, and too thick yarn on them will look ridiculous. If you are thinking of making openwork mitts with knitting needles, the knitting pattern suitable for the product should fit into the number of loops that can be used in the pattern.

For a thin thread, it is necessary to make a loop test, calculate the number of loops, taking into account that openwork things stretch quite strongly, and elegant gloves should sit on the hand like gloved ones. Therefore, the number of loops calculated from the sample should be reduced in order to exclude a loose fit. The rest of the work is practically no different from the already presented knitting pattern of one mitt with knitting needles. A detailed description can be added: in the upper part of the light lace mitts, you can make finger dividers using a crochet strap.

Skillfully using various openwork, knitters have long turned such a functional wardrobe item as mitts into a magnificent accessory that serves as a decoration for a woman's hand.

Needlework basics: Knitted gloves for beginners.

In a cold winter cold, damp autumn or summer coolness will come in handy. knitted gloves. You can buy them, of course, in the store.

How is knitting glove size determined?

You can knit gloves in different ways.
The most popular is - work with knitting needles.
This process is laborious, but it is not at all difficult to learn it.
All you need to do is: patience and knowledge some principles.

  • To make the gloves fit nicely around your hands, it is best to knit them. fine wool on fine knitting needles.
  • We knit the product a little narrower than the circumference of the wrist and hand.
  • We pre-do measurements and calculations of loops, so that the finished product fits exactly in size.
  • A good help in this will be the article published on our.

How to knit gloves for beginners step by step: an easy way?

Having calculated the required number of loops (further p.), let's get to work.

  • In our example, we type 52 workers p.
  • We knit, starting from the cuff. Choosing a standard length 6-7 cm
  • We distribute the collected items 4 needles, 13 each

number working needles

we shape our fingers correctly
  • We close the circle with the remaining tail of yarn from the set of p.
  • With the same tip, together with the main thread, we knit 5-6 p.
  • We do all the work clockwise, using the method of elastic - one p. front, the other purl.
  • By making 4 circles with dark yarn, separated by a strip from light thread 4 rows.
  • We repeat this approach one more time.
  • Let's get to work with the thumb of the product.
  • To knit the finger of the right hand, start with adding p. at the beginning of the first knitting needle.
  • We knit the next p. With the front one, after it the yarn
  • Z row knit without adding
  • 4th row start with a yarn, knit three sts, yarn
  • Then every three circle and we make an increase, knitting between yarns: 1,3,5,7,9,11,13 p.
  • The length of the wedge should be about 6cm

thumb wedge
  • We remove 13 p., distributing on two pins of 6 and 7 pieces.
  • We type on the knitting needle by 6 additional p.

knit gloves
  • We knit whole row
  • From the next circle we connect 2 p. on both sides of the hole, to the remainder of the wedge of one p. and education on the first spoke 13 p.

standard blade
  • We knit work before the start of the little finger- 3-4 rows
  • Distribute for fingers:
  • Next, we do 3 air p. between each toes
  • We depict it schematically and continue working according to the scheme

working scheme
  • We knit p. 2nd spokes to the p. intended for the little finger, remove these 6 p. one pin, and 7 p. from the 3rd knitting needle to the other.
  • Then we do 3 air p. on the 2nd spoke
  • We tie the item on the 3rd spoke.
  • Using the scheme, we transfer the item to the pins:

rules for distributing finger loops

Forefinger:

  • We knit 4 p. on the needle number 1
  • We knit with an additional knitting needle 3 last p. from the needles number 1 and make an air p.
  • We make an additional knitting needle two air p. and knit 3 sts from knitting needles # 4
  • We get 4 sts on the needles No. 1, 2, and 5 sts - No. 3, 4. Total: 18 p.

knit gloves
  • We continue knitting until the nail and start closing the finger: at the beginning and end of the knitting needles we combine two stitches, knitting together.
  • Remaining two p. we pull together with a thread and stretch it inside out.

final stage

Middle finger:

  • He is assigned 19 p.(13 sts from pins + 3 sts from 2 jumpers).
  • P. with pins, defined for the formation of the middle finger move it by two knitting needles.
  • The spoke facing the palm is symbolically called first.
  • We add the thread from the skein and knit 4 sts from the needles No. 1
  • Then we knit with an additional knitting needle 2 remaining sts from the first knitting needle and make 3 air sts forming a jumper
  • Next, we knit with a new knitting needle 5 sts from knitting needles # 2
  • We knit with another additional needle 2 sts with a needle No. 2 and get from the space between the first finger 3 p.
  • We get: one spoke - 4 p., three - 5 p.
  • We repeat the work in the same way as the first part

Ring finger:

  • Pins on the pins are removed on the knitting needles
  • We knit: 4 p., after which taking an additional knitting needle - extreme 3 sts from the first knitting needle, and 1 sts from the second
  • We make an additional knitting needle 4 sts from 2nd spoke
  • Next, we knit the last 2 p. From the 2nd needle and 3 p. add from the connection with the middle finger.
  • Now the items are located like this: on 3 knitting needles, four each, and on one - five.
  • We continue to work like the fingers described above.
    Little finger
  • We place the item in the same way as for the previous finger: on 4 p., based on the fact that 3 p. put on from the connection with this finger.
  • We repeat the rest of the work like the previous one.

Thumb, trailing finger:

  • On the spoke on the right we knit 5 p., we knit with an additional needle the last point of the same knitting needle, and four - with the left.
  • By adding another needle from the left knitting needle, we knit the last 3 p., a 2 p. From the top edge of the hole
  • Then with an additional knitting needle from the same place we collect 5 p.
  • In total, on 4 needles we have 20 p.: 5 each.
  • We repeat the work, according to the same principle as for the previous fingers.

We make the left glove like the right one.

How to knit fingers on gloves with knitting needles?

It is convenient to take the first steps in learning from children's copies.

  • Wrist width thirteen cm, we take 6 sts per finger except for the big one.
  • We knit the details one by one:
  • Moving two stitches for three working needles and work the front one circle.
  • In the 2nd circle, we double the number of stitches (knitting from one st. - two facial) .
  • We knit the required length of the finger: little finger - 0.4 cm; nameless, index, middle - by 0.5 cm
  • Then we throw over all p., excluding pinky ones, on a loose thread or pins.
  • Cut the thread, sew up the fingers.
  • Having assembled the parts, we distribute them on and four needles, alternately
  • Next, we go to work with the front satin stitch for creating a little finger, extreme 2 p. connect.
  • After that, we connect the first two points of the ring finger
  • Up to the thumb, we continue to work in a circular manner, which we form on three free needles, distributing on them six p ..
  • By increasing, we bring them to about twelve.
  • We knit up to 0.30 cm
  • Then twice, through the circle, add on both sides of the finger on the 1st p ..
  • Ready finger we attach the product to the canvas, closing the work by decreasing at the base and at the edge of all parts of the finger.
  • Then on the parts of this finger we combine 2 p. from two edges.
  • After a circle at the beginning of the row of the thumb we combine the initial point with the final one on one side of the work, from the opposite part - we knit the extreme point of this finger, combining with the upper
  • Similarly, we subtract to the original the number of p., which was before the attachment of the parts.
  • Subsequently, an elastic band is formed.

You can knit a finger both with knitting needles and, moreover, it is much easier to crochet. Knit in a circle and try on as you knit, when the size matches, you need to finish knitting and hide the thread.

Mittens- mitts - it is both warm and beautiful at the same time. After all, they can serve as gloves too. Their main plus is that they are completely easy to manufacture. With a certain skill and experience, they can be knitted in just a couple of hours. And at the same time they will become original accessories that will give you a certain zest.

You will need

  • -wool;
  • - knitting needles by size;
  • -guide to action

Instructions

Take hand measurements first. This should be the circumference of the hand (the widest part, measured by the bones), the length of the hand from the wrist to where the middle finger ends, the length of the hand to the little finger, the length of the hand from the wrist to the base of the thumb, and the length of this finger to the middle of the nail.

Prepare five knitting needles: there are loops on four, and a free one is needed for knitting - after all, mittens are usually made that way. To knit mitts simply, because the simplest knitting option is used - hosiery. Cast on 44 stitches in the same way as you usually do on 2 knitting needles, then free one. Now you need to distribute the loops over 4 knitting needles, you get 11 for each. To do this, knit the first row with a single elastic band (1 front, 1 purl), at the same time dividing the loops along the needles. Close knitting in a circle.

Continue knitting the elastic to a height of about 6-9 cm. Then start knitting with hosiery. If you are walking around to keep your mittens smoother, then knit fewer rows of elastic. For example, up to a knitting height of 3-4 cm. You need to knit with hosiery approximately to the base of the thumb.

Now make a hole for your thumb. Take into account the peculiarities of knitting and form a hole for the finger of the right hand on the 3rd knitting needle, and for the left finger on the 4th. There are several ways to create such a hole: remove the loops with additional knitting needles, or knit with an additional loop.

If you choose the method by removing the loops, then knit the first loop, and remove the rest with an auxiliary tool (a pin or another knitting needle). Then put on the same number of air loops as you removed. Then knit the last remaining loops on the knitting needle and continue knitting in a circle.

Work your thumb by hooking the set stitches onto the knitting needle. Knit them to the desired level and close the knitting. Knit the last 3-4 rows of the entire mitten with purl loops. This is to keep your mittens easy to stretch without stretching.

It remains to knit a cap that will cover all open fingers. Cast on 22 stitches and start knitting with a single elastic band. Knit so literally 2-3 rows, then go to hosiery. From the middle of knitting, after 3-4 rows, start decreasing 2 loops in each row. So, gradually, you will get to the end by narrowing the caps towards the base. Your mittens are ready.

Mitts(or glovelettes) are a topical accessory of recent times, which is especially popular among young people and glamorous beauties. Warm fingerless gloves are comfortable and beautiful, but they go well with a variety of clothing styles - from romantic to sporty. If you choose a simple model and a simple, but effective pattern, you can knit mitts pretty quickly.

You will need

  • - 5 stocking needles;
  • - centimeter;
  • - hook;
  • - auxiliary spoke.

Instructions

Try knitting the glovelettes like a regular mitten to avoid the need for joining seams. To decorate the front surface of the product, simple, but elegant reliefs - braids are recommended. The elements of the pattern will be knitted with front loops against the background of the seamy surface, the top and bottom of the mitt will be framed by a usual 1x1 elastic band (front-seamy).

Tie the canvas sample with a plait harness. So you can calculate the density of your knitting and adjust the size of the product. Cast on 18 loops (2 for the hem, 4 purl on the right and left of the braids and 8 for the relief itself). Work 10 rows in this sequence.

On the 11 (front) row, overlap the braids. First remove the hem, knit 4 purl loops. Then transfer the next 4 loops to the auxiliary knitting needle and leave before work, the other 4 loops - knit. String the pending loops from the additional knitting needle onto the main one and knit new front loops from them, then work according to the pattern.

Start knitting mitts with the elastic of the top. Measure the circumference of the forearm and cast on the required number of loops according to the hand size and knitting density. For example, you have 36 loops; distribute them on 4 knitting needles and knit in circular rows. Do the following alternations: purl 4 and knit 8; 4 more purl; two dozen front - they will make up the back of the fingerless glove.

Sew the braids on the front of the product every ten rows. When you get to the base of your thumb, make a hole. To do this, close 5 loops and tie the row to the end according to the pattern.

In the next round, cast on 5 air loops over the closed arches: form loops from the thread and throw them onto the working knitting needle.

Sew 10 rows of circular fabric, then finish knitting the fingerless glove with a 1x1 elastic band. Close the stitches of the last row and hide the scrap of working yarn. Along the perimeter of the thumb hole, crochet 3-4 circular rows with single crochets. This will add completeness to the product.

note

The mitts should grip the forearm tightly so as not to slip off it while moving the hand. In the process of work, make control fittings of an untied product so as not to make a mistake in size.

Helpful advice

Wash the finished mitts with liquid detergent for wool and lay to dry on a flat, horizontal surface.
