Eyeliner brushes

They are different, but they have the same task - to draw beautiful arrows. Which shape to choose depends solely on your preferences. The first thought when looking at this brush: "Yes, it's an eyeliner brush!" But in comparison with the usual thin eyeliner brushes, you come to disappointing conclusions. The Roubloff brush is thinner and has a few millimeters longer bristles, which is why it is inelastic and bends when pressed. With this lack of control, arrows are completely impossible to draw. It's a pity, the price is already very nice-)) However, I managed to adapt it for eyebrows. You can draw very fine hairs, the effect is like using an eyebrow marker.

Oblique brush No. 6 (synthetics), Roubloff

The pile of this brush is narrower and shorter than the beveled brushes I had. Because of this, the same arrows are a little more difficult to draw with it. But they can be made very thin-) And it, already without reservations, is very good for eyebrows, and with its help you can apply both shadows and cream products. If I suddenly find myself without a single eyebrow brush - I know which one I will buy first-) The price here is a nice bonus. Very nice, let's face it.

Oval brush No. 7 (synthetic), Roubloff

If I chose the previous two brushes at my own peril and risk, this one was easier - synthetic oval brushes are definitely used by makeup artists to apply concealer. What can I say, these makeup artists are not stupid-)) The brush is great for spot camouflage when you need to apply a dense pigmented concealer (like my favorite Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage).

In the process of using for the brush, one more application was found. She can apply lipstick precisely and tightly. Just a few movements - and the lips are painted. It is clear that this can be done with almost any lip brush - but not any lip brush costs 176 rubles-)) I will definitely buy a take.

The most expensive and largest brush of the five. I love that it is softer and more skin-friendly than most regular face brushes. I apply a highlighter to her (wherever a highlighter is usually applied) and sometimes powder the T-zone and the area under the eyes. When the swatch was removed, there was no powdery highlighter at hand - but the creamy highlighter, as it turned out, works great-)

Price - 580 rubles.

As a result, out of five brushes, three have firmly settled in my cosmetic bag - and two of them are cheaper than two hundred rubles. It seems to me a good economy-)

I'm a big fan of shape, my passions change periodically: literally a year and a half ago, I was crazy about thin beveled brushes, but over the past year, torch brushes have won my heart. The more time I have with makeup, the more opportunities I have to use the brushes from this set in different sizes. The daily option "on the run" looks like this: dip the brush into the cushion twice, because after applying it with a sponge, the finish is too dense for me, draw a contouring stick along the cheeks and shade, where necessary - powder, bring up eyebrows and polish with a highlighter. If more time appears, arrows, shadows or blush are added, or whatever the mood is.

I am convinced that you can find a worthy copy of almost every brand that produces brushes. In professional ones, of course, they are more common, but the mass market can also surprise. The Morphe Brushes, dearly loved by American bloggers and makeup artists, clearly show that you should not discount products of an affordable price range. If you look at today's prices, the most expensive of my brushes is MAC, which have served me faithfully for more than four years. Most of the space in my tube is occupied by the mid-price segment: Real Techniques, the recently released trio of Pudra, Sephora and NYX. Can fingers replace hands? They can. Summer. Because in winter in the morning in our climate, even if you are in a hurry, the tactile pleasure of spreading creamy-silicone textures on the skin with cold extremities seems dubious. But just in case, I have two brushes in store: Tom Ford 02 (it is universal and suitable for contouring, applying tone and blush) and Zoeva 227 for shading the shadows. There is another Tom Ford beveled brush, but I hardly use it. In general, I like the tools MAC, Zoeva, Bobbi Brown. I think every brand has both good and bad brushes. I often buy eyeliner and lipstick brushes in art stores, as they are the ones that are most often lost and worn out. The only thing that is unacceptable to me is fakes. That's what you really can't buy, this also applies to cosmetics.

I think that it is quite possible to do without brushes and special tools. A couple of times I had it so that I forgot the brushes, and had to paint only with my hands. For me, the softness of the bristle is important - no one likes a hard brush that almost scratches the skin. At the same time, the origin of the pile does not interest me. Whenever I feel like making arrows, I use a beveled eye or brow brush. With this form, it is convenient to apply both creamy and dry product, and even to dye eyelashes. I remove all unnecessary things with a cotton swab dipped in micellar water. On special occasions - when I have time to wash the sponge right after makeup - I apply the tone with a beauty blender. In terms of quantity, I have the leaders of the tools Make Up For Ever and NARS. I bought them especially to study as a make-up artist, so that I can immediately work with good tools. At that time I didn’t know much and didn’t know that Sephora, L'Etoile, and shops with art supplies had excellent brushes. First of all, it is important that the brush does not fall apart after contact with water, does not scratch the skin and is versatile in use.

Fingers definitely do not make up eyelashes, and eyebrows are difficult to comb. I tried it - it doesn't work. The main tool in my makeup is the eyebrow and eyelash brush. The best part about this brush is the price. Even if it's a cheap disposable brush, it will still brighten your eyebrows and paint your eyelashes perfectly.

Due to the fact that I am constantly in a hurry and late, it usually takes me five to ten minutes to make up. I don't use brushes at all simply because I have a beauty blender. Anything that I cannot apply with a sponge, I apply with sticks. This is the perfect format for people like me: highlighters, blush, shadows - applied, shaded with a finger, gone. I can paint without brushes, but I can't without a blender. When I am going to some important events, I remember that I am a make-up artist, and I take up my brushes. Here I can use from two tools at once and to infinity - it all depends on how complex the makeup I do and how much time I have.

The difference between mass-market brushes and premium brushes is that the latter are much easier to work with: high-quality brushes are better applied and shaded. Of course, a good makeup artist who knows how to paint will do makeup with any brushes. The question here is rather that there is no need to suffer if you can take a tool that will save time and will be pleasant for both the master and the client. I choose brushes depending on what I need: sometimes I am looking for a certain shape, sometimes I need a good natural bristle, sometimes, on the contrary, I need synthetics. The most expensive tools in my case are Annbeauty's blending brushes.

My opinion is this: if it is more convenient for a person to paint with his hands, then why take up his brushes and torment himself? Usually, for those who do not use brushes, but want to buy them, I advise you to take a small, high-quality set, so that there is freedom to experiment. This is a pair of face brushes (powder, correction), eye brushes (flat and fluffy), lip brush. Brushes are an individual story, each with their own favorites over time.

Personally, I can't go without a neat synthetic lipstick brush because I hate crooked contouring. It doesn't have to be expensive: I like to go to art stores and look for tongues of different shapes there. I can paint my lips with any such reed brush, and it is also suitable for arrows, cream shadows and, in extreme cases, for eyebrows. In general, I usually only dye my eyelashes and correct the tone, so my palms and cotton swabs are enough for me.

If you believe that there are graphic artists and flower makeup artists, then I am one of the first and do not like shading a hundred eye shadows. Therefore, I do not have a collection of feathering brushes, and for myself I only use one, Mizuho CMP527. It is very soft and does what I cannot do with my finger, namely, it spreads dry shadows very neatly and evenly. Although I usually paint with cream, which is easy to apply with my fingers.

Any brush should be strong, be it professional, luxury or mass market. That is, the pile should not fall out, and the handle should not be flimsy. Synthetic brushes can be bought cheap; they are distinguished from expensive ones only by the shape (and even then not always) and the richness of the packaging. At the same time, sometimes the desired shape can only be found among the brushes for nail art or in the same art store. Good natural and cheap brushes are harder to find, and I'm not trying. Their pile should be exactly matched and should not be pricked; the type, softness of the pile, its length, shape and density of the gathering also matter. I won't talk about the MAC beauty blender and brushes, everyone already knows about them.

I notice that not everyone has tried Japonesque brushes, although they are of very high quality. The pile is tenacious and there are cool shapes - I recently bought a large flat tone brush like Becca's (funny, these are the brushes used by the kabuki actors who inspired the creators of Japonesque). The new synthetic Pudras are also good. Shaquda are also great, but because of the cost, I can only watch and test them at master classes for now.
