How to choose the right shampoo for different hair types? How to choose the right professional shampoo? How to choose your own shampoo

And today I decided to dwell in more detail on how to choose a hair shampoo and what factors to pay attention to first.

To help myself, I took a book from a specialist in the field of hair care, trichologist S. Galtseva.

Hair shampoo - rules of choice

Shampoo is one of the main and most common hair care products. The word is an indirect English borrowing from Hindi, like “champa” - the name of a flower growing in India, from which oil is made for rubbing into hair

Shampoo is one of the most important products responsible for the beauty and health of our hair.

No masks, foams, or balms will cope with damaged hair if you use bad shampoo.

An incorrectly selected shampoo can greatly harm your hair and scalp, worsening its appearance and internal condition.

Why do you need shampoo?

The main purpose of shampoo is to remove excess oil, wash the scalp, and also remove static electricity from the hair.

Types of shampoo:

  1. Shampoos come in consistency: liquid and concentrated - creamy.
  2. Shampoos can be for dry (softening), oily (astringent, seborrheic) and normal hair.
  3. According to their intended purpose, shampoos can be medicinal (with mild and normal acidity) and technical acidic for colored hair and hair after perm.

When choosing a shampoo, it is very important to take this factor into account.

For example, if you have dry hair and start using shampoo for oily hair, you will remove all that natural fat, without which the normal condition of the hair is impossible, which it already lacks.

You will dry out your scalp and make your hair very fragile, brittle, disrupt the pH of your scalp and subsequently struggle with increased oiliness.

What may be included in shampoo?

The composition of shampoo can have a huge number of different components.

But only one plays the most important role - the detergent base of the shampoo (surfactant). The condition of your hair will depend on this component!!!

Therefore, when choosing a shampoo, pay close attention to this component.

The most harmful bases in shampoos

Surely, many already know that most industrial shampoos that fill the shelves of our stores contain very harmful components:

(SLS) -Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, TEA Layril Sulfate, TEA Laureth Sulfate, etc.

These foaming agents are very harsh chemicals, they do not have a true cleansing effect, they are very destructive to keratin (the protein that forms the base of the hair) and disrupt the natural pH of the scalp.

Usually, after using such a shampoo, the hair becomes excessively “fluffy”, the first sign that the shampoo has damaged the hair scales and made its shaft accessible to dirt and bacteria.

All this leads to rapid hair contamination, hair loss and thinning, and the appearance of split ends.

Gentle surfactants

These include:

  • TEA Layril Sulfate (Triethanolamine Lauryl Sulfate)
  • TEA (Triethanolamine)
  • Cocamide D.E.A.
  • DEA-Cetyl phosphate
  • DEA Oleth-3 phosphate
  • Myristamide DEA, Stearamide MEA
  • Cocamide MEA, Lauramide DEA
  • Linoleamide MEA
  • Oleamide DEA
  • TEA-Lauryl Sulfate
  • Sodium Myreth Sulfate and sodium myristyl ether sulfate
  • Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate
  • Magnesium Laureth Sulfate
  • Coco Glucoside
  • Sodium Myreth Sulfate and sodium myristyl ether sulfate

The best and safest surfactants

These are all soft organic bases:

  • Cocoamidopropyl Betaine
  • Decyl Glucoside or decyl polyglucose
  • Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate
  • Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate
  • Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate

As a rule, such shampoos are difficult to find in regular household chemical stores. You need to look for them in organic or professional cosmetics stores.

Also, high-quality shampoos should not contain parabens (preservatives) and silicones, DEA, substances that, when used for a long time, cause permanent destruction of the hair structure and are very toxic to our body.

The cost of such shampoos will be much higher, but the health and beauty of your hair is worth it!

Useless shampoo ingredients

In addition to the foaming detergent base, shampoos can contain various components (antioxidants, vitamins, herbal extracts, fruit acids, pearl dust, collagen).

Most of them are absolutely useless for our hair and are added to shampoo only to increase its cost.

For more details about this, be sure to read this.

Conclusion - how to choose the right shampoo?

So, to choose the right shampoo, you need to decide:

  1. With your hair type and choose a shampoo that matches your hair type
  2. Look at the composition of the shampoo, paying special attention to its base and give preference to one that contains a soft organic base.

Remember that a high-quality shampoo should not contain SLS, DTA, silicones, parabens, and the more natural organic components it contains, the safer and better the effect of its use will be.

For myself, I have identified several well-known organic brands of shampoos, which contain safe organic bases and only useful high-quality ingredients.

Good manufacturers of shampoos with soft bases

To the brief description of each of these bases, I have added a link to a suitable shampoo that contains it.

  • Cocoamidopropyl Betaine is a very soft and low-allergenic surfactant. Produced from fatty acids of coconut oil. Contained in many shampoos of the company Jason Natural
  • Decyl Glucoside or decyl polyglucose is a mild surfactant consisting of glucose obtained from corn starch and coconut fatty acids. The company makes its famous shampoos on this basis. Avalon Organics And Biotene H-24s

  • Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate is a natural surfactant obtained by reacting coconut and palm oil with sugar and starch. A popular base for children's shampoos, contained in products BabySpa

  • Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate is a natural, mild, safe surfactant obtained from sarcosine, a natural amino acid found in vegetables and fruits. It does not irritate the skin at all, perfectly cares for hair and restores its structure. This base is present in the company's organic shampoos Alba Botanica

Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate is a surfactant with a mild dermatological effect, often used in children's shampoos and shampoos for sensitive scalps. Shampoos on this basis are represented by the brand Nature's Gate

How to use shampoo correctly?

But buying the right shampoo is only half the battle; it is very important to use it correctly:

  1. You should always leave shampoo on your hair for at least five minutes!!!
  2. This is necessary so that the detergent components of the shampoo break down all the fat and dirt on the surface of the scalp and hair, and its therapeutic components show their beneficial effects.
  3. To do this, you need to wet your hair, squeeze a small amount of shampoo into your palm, beat it in your palms and apply it to your hair in a circular motion from the frontal part to the ends of your hair, foaming.
  4. Rinse your hair with warm water and apply another portion of shampoo. Massage your scalp well again for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Rinse your hair thoroughly with warm water until your hair squeaks and wring out your hair.
  6. Dry naturally and never comb your hair while it’s wet!

How to choose a shampoo for your hair type, what to look for when choosing, which shampoo components are useful and which shampoos are dangerous. These questions are often asked by representatives of the fair half of humanity. And indeed, with a huge amount of choice, figuring out which shampoo is good and which one is not worth buying is not easy even for a specialist.

Let's try to understand this issue and consider the main points that you should pay attention to when choosing a shampoo.

Where to start choosing shampoo?

The first thing to do is decide on your hair type. This is a very important point. Hair can be divided into groups according to several criteria:

  • greasiness of hair
  • painted and unpainted
  • blossom
  • hair thickness
  • by degree of waviness (straight, curly, curly, etc.)

The most important thing for choosing a shampoo is the first point, the type of hair according to greasiness:

  • normal
  • fatty
  • dry
  • mixed type (oily at the root, dry closer to the ends)

The greasiness of hair depends on the work of the sebaceous glands, which are located in the scalp. The main function of these glands- production of sebum, which should cover the entire surface of each individual scalp hair with a thin film, protecting the hair from the effects of the external environment.

A lot of protective layer is bad, a little is also bad, there should be, as everywhere else, a golden mean - the norm. It is with the normal functioning of the sebaceous glands that the amount of sebum is sufficient for protective functions, and the absence of its excess does not cause excessive greasy hair, which weighs it down and leads to rapid contamination. Well, the deficiency accordingly leads to brittle hair, since it is deprived of its natural protection.

It is important for yourself to understand that the visible (outer) part of the hair is no longer living tissue, and it does not receive nutrients from the body, since it does not have in its structure the means for delivering these substances. That is, there are no blood vessels or capillaries in the hair structure that could deliver nutrients to your hair through the bloodstream.

Need to remember that the visible part of the hair, after it is formed (the hair has grown), is already cannot be changed by our body, since it is not living tissue. All that our body can do is protect already formed (grown) hair with the help of sebum secreted by glands on the scalp.

The appearance and condition of already regrown hair depends on the condition of the scalp. Therefore, first of all, you need to take care of the condition of the scalp, and only then take care of the visible part of the hair.

You still need to understand one important point.

If your hair is already damaged, then they cannot be corrected by proper nutrition or vitamins, both taken orally and applied to the hair itself. Damaged hair can only be " repair"so that outwardly he seemed healthy.

That is, with the help of various cosmetics, you can try to hide hair damage, or apply additional protection to your hair to stop its further destruction. But these are basically no longer shampoos, but a separate line of cosmetics.

The hair type has been determined, what next?

You should choose a shampoo based on your hair type and its inherent problems.. For example, shampoos for dry hair contain nourishing and moisturizing ingredients, which, if used on oily hair, will only add to the problems of their owner.

Products for oily hair include ingredients that reduce sebum production, which slightly dries out the skin. And if such a shampoo is used on dry hair, which already lacks the moisturizing and protective effect from sebum, then of course this will only cause harm to dry hair.

Therefore, hair type is crucial when purchasing shampoo, otherwise an incorrectly selected product can only worsen the situation.

Shampoos are divided into different groups according to many criteria. For example, we can highlight some of them:

  • shampoos according to hair oil type (dry, brittle, normal, oily)
  • medicated shampoos (for dandruff, hair loss, brittle hair, etc.)
  • shampoos for colored hair
  • restorative shampoos
  • shampoos for damaged hair
  • shampoos to stimulate hair growth
  • professional shampoos (this is more of a marketing ploy)
  • shampoos that add volume to hair

We are not yet solving specific problems, such as treating hair diseases, but choosing products for daily care, so When choosing a shampoo, we are guided primarily by the type of hair in terms of greasiness.

We determined what criterion to be guided in the first place. What else should you pay attention to when choosing shampoo?

Of course, now you need to pay attention to the composition of the shampoo. Not all shampoos are safe and equally healthy.

Studying the composition of shampoo

Previously, hair cleansers were made using a soap base made from natural ingredients. Such shampoos lathered extremely poorly and did not cope with their task from the first wash. I had to repeat the procedures several times to achieve the desired cleanliness. Despite the difficulties of use, such shampoos did not destroy the natural protective layer of the hair, including its structure, which had a positive effect on its appearance. After using such shampoos, the hair remains clean longer, as its natural protective layer is preserved.

But this is in the past; almost no one produces such shampoos, due to their high cost and complexity of use (low cleaning power). But if you find a similar shampoo, then its use is more preferable than shampoos containing surfactants.

What do we have today?

All modern shampoos, even the cheapest ones, lather well and easily wash away any impurities, including the natural protective film in the form of sebum. This is achieved thanks to surfactants (surfactants) included in modern shampoos. It is these components that provide shampoos with their high cleaning properties and are the main active ingredients. All other components of the shampoo are additives that can improve the quality of the shampoo, or partially compensate for the harm from surfactants.

Like most modern chemical compounds, surfactants also have a number of negative properties:

  • in the majority they toxic for a living organism and at the same time have a high ability to penetrate into living tissues
  • react with heavy metals
  • destroy the natural protective layer in the form of sebum
  • destroy the lipid layer, connecting the scales of the outer layer of hair, leading to the destruction of the hair structure.

What types of surfactants are there?

Most often, shampoos contain one of the components (in order from more aggressive to less harmful):

  • sodium lauryl sulfate(sodium lauryl sulfate)
  • ammonium lauryl sulfate(ammonium lauryl sulfate)
  • sodium laureth sulfate(sodium laureth sulfate)
  • ammonium lyreth sulfate(ammonium laureth sulfate)
  • TEA lauryl sulfate
  • TEA laureth sulfate
  • before using shampoo It is better to use the one suitable for your hair type to protect your hair (olive, avocado, jojoba, castor, coconut, wheat germ, grape seed, etc.)
  • before washing your hair, you need to thoroughly wet your hair so that each hair is well saturated with water. This will prevent the surfactant from penetrating into the hair, destroying it.
  • you need to rinse the shampoo thoroughly after use so that its particles do not remain on the hair and do not destroy its structure.

What components of shampoo besides surfactants are important for hair health?

The main components of any shampoo are: water and surfactants, as well as additives that regulate the acidity of the shampoo and its consistency. In addition to them, shampoo may contain a lot of other auxiliary components, which are contained in small quantities. Basically, these additives are designed to reduce the harmful effects of surfactants on the scalp and hair.

Composition of shampoos

Read the label on the shampoo. You can determine the amount of harmful and beneficial substances in the shampoo by carefully reading the label. The content of various components is indicated on the label in descending order of the mass content of the components. Thus, in the first place is the substance that is most abundant in the composition, and in the last positions are those that have the least amount.

Approximate composition of shampoo:

  • water- as a shampoo base. Makes up approximately 80% of the total mass of shampoo
  • Surfactant for breaking down fats and dirt. Any of the following:
  • Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate
  • Ammonium Laureth Sulfate
  • Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
  • TEA lauryl sulfate
  • TEA Layril Sulfate
  • Medium foaming surfactant, which are added to form soap foam. Any of the following:
  • cocamidopropyl Betaine (very mild cleanser, used in baby shampoos)
  • decyl polyglucose (foaming active ingredient extracted from coconuts and corn)
  • cocamidopropyl betan (made from fatty acids in coconut oil and a substance found in beets)
  • glycereth cocoate (very mild moisturizing surfactant)
  • sodium cocoamphodiacetate (mild emulsifier)
  • ocamidopropyl sulfobetaine
  • sodium sulfosuccinate
  • TEA (Cocamide DEA, MEA, or TEA)
  • thickeners- these shampoo components are responsible for viscosity and density.
  • cocamide DEA (foam stabilizer)
  • cocamide MEA (COCAMIDE MEA - a mixture of coconut oil and ethanolamine)
  • linoleamide DEA
  • PEG 4 monoethanolomide rapeseed oil
  • Trideceth 2 Carboxamide MEA
  • preservatives- the main task of preservatives is to prevent the development of microorganisms in cosmetic products.
  • DMDM-hydantoin (preservative with a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity)
  • benzoic acid (another name for sodium benzoate - a natural preservative found in cranberries and lingonberries)
  • diazolidinylurea
  • methylisothiazolinol (methylchloroisothiazolinone)
  • parabens
  • phenoxyethanol
  • sodium citrate, or sodium salt of citric acid (Sodium Citrate) - allows you to maintain the required pH of the shampoo
  • glycol distearate (Glycol Distearate) or Stearate (Stearate) - these substances are waxes and are added to shampoo to improve the appearance and consistency of the shampoo mass: they give the shampoo mass a pearly shine and allow the shampoo to flow out of the bottle easily (a component that is useless for hair)
  • dimethicone(Dimethicone) or Cyclomethicone(Cyclomethicone). Silicone oils, which are designed to replace the natural protective layer of hair in the form of sebum, which is washed off by surfactants. Not recommended for oily hair.

A very dubious replacement for natural hair protection.

  • cetyl (Cetyl) or oleyl (Oleyl) or stearyl (Stearyl) alcohols. These are hydrated alcohols that are supposed to act as a lubricant for easy combing.
  • SPF (sun protection filter)- components that provide hair protection from ultraviolet radiation
  • various cosmetic additives, natural ingredients:
  • witch hazel extract, carrot extract, fern extract- nutrition and strengthening of hair follicles
  • witch hazel extract, eucalyptus- normalizes the secretion of the sebaceous glands of the scalp
  • grapefruit extract, rice bran, nettle leaf extract, yarrow extract, chamomile extract- smoothes the surface of the hair, adds shine and silkiness
  • wheat starch, rose hips, henna- thickens and adds volume
  • rosemary leaf extract, yarrow extract, horsetail extract, sage extract- stimulates hair growth
  • nettle extract, tea tree, eucalyptus- help fight dandruff and have a refreshing effect
  • lavender tincture, tangerine extract, tea tree, eucalyptus- antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and soothing effect

Harmful substances in shampoos

Avoid shampoos containing:

  • diethanolamine - can cause irritation of mucous membranes, toxic to the cardiovascular system, kidneys, and gastrointestinal tract
  • phthalates (Phthalate, BBP, CMR, DBP, DEHP, DEP, DHP, DIDP, etc.) - affect the human endocrine system and the male reproductive system
  • sulfates (sodium-lauryl-sulfate (sls)) - penetrates the eyes, brain, liver, heart. They accumulate in tissues and cause organ damage.
  • parabens - used in shampoos as preservatives. They are needed to fight bacteria and fungi. The danger with chemically produced parabens is that they can mimic the hormone estrogen. Scientific studies have proven that this hormone plays a decisive role in the development of breast cancer. This substance also negatively affects the production of testosterone and the activity of the male reproductive system.
  • formaldehyde (methanal, formic aldehyde, formic aldehyde, Formaldehyde) - included in the list of carcinogenic substances, widely used in cosmetology as a preservative. The substance is toxic and has a negative effect on genetics, respiratory organs, vision and skin. Has a strong effect on the nervous system.
  • dioxane, diethylene dioxide (1,2-Dioxane, ethoxylated alcohols, 1,4–dioxane) – strong carcinogen
  • butylated Hydroxytoluene (BHT) – a carcinogen, when interacting with air it prevents the oxidation of fats. As a cosmetic ingredient prohibited for use in some countries
  • sodium benzoate (sodium benzoate) – preservative, hazardous to health, potential effects: asthma, urticaria, contact dermatitis, hay fever, skin and oral irritation, hyperactivity, anaphylaxis.
  • propylene glycol (propylene glycol) is a colorless viscous liquid with a weak characteristic odor, obtained synthetically from propylene, or glycerin, or propylene oxide. May cause contact dermatitis, lactic acidosis, skin rash, toxic to the respiratory system, immune and nervous systems; Possible delayed contact allergy. Enhances absorption of other substances.
  • azo dye – extract from petroleum or coal tar. Skin contact may cause urticaria, asthma, hay fever, allergic reactions, bladder cancer, and may be absorbed through the skin.

Good day, dear girls

Today, together with you, we will try to choose the ideal shampoo, based on your scalp type and hair condition.

Let me start, perhaps, with the criteria for evaluating each shampoo.
When choosing a shampoo, I pay attention to two things:

  • cleansing the scalp
  • hair length after shampoo
After using my ideal shampoo, my scalp should be thoroughly rinsed, but not squeaky clean, and the freshness should last me 2-3 days.

As for the length, I don’t expect caring properties from shampoo; for this I have a whole arsenal of subsequent products. The main criterion for the shampoo to work is that the length should not get confused when washing, which, given my centimeters, is already quite problematic.

On store shelves we see a great variety of different shampoos.
How to figure out which one is right for you? How to choose the right shampoo in order to enjoy tangible results in the future?

SULFATE-FREE SHAMPOOS

These shampoos do not contain SLS; SLES, and these are the harshest and most rinsing surfactants. This is a soft group of shampoos, with delicate cleansing and respect for length, which is especially important for damaged and brittle hair.

Now I choose exclusively delicate cleansing for myself, but this was not always the case.
You should pay attention to shampoos without SLS if you:

  • I have dry scalp
  • Owner of sensitive skin type I
  • A fan of using chemical dyes, I am not so active in washing the dye out of my hair.
  • A fan of procedures such as lamination and Botox - to maintain the long-term effect of the procedure.
The disadvantages of mildly cleansing shampoos include:
  • Mild shampoos are not suitable for oily scalps, as they do not provide sufficient cleansing.
  • Mild shampoos will not be able to remove all silicone components from the hair; this may cause
  • A problem for girls who use styling products.
  • Sulfate-free shampoos foam weakly and may require secondary soaping, which entails a large consumption of product.

SHAMPOOS FOR DRY HAIR AND SCALP

Those with dry and unruly hair are advised to buy shampoo labeled “for dry hair.” Such products contain more nutritional and moisturizing additives that will help restore and nourish the hair.
But before buying, I advise you to carefully study the composition, because the difference between promises and reality can be huge.
At the same time, the shampoo base should not be aggressive - these are shampoos without SLS or mild surfactants that do not disturb the lipid layer.

Shampoos for colored hair that are moisturizing and nourishing are suitable for dry hair.
The washing power is still weak, but it is enough for dry and brittle hair.

SHAMPOOS FOR NORMAL HAIR

Detergent compositions for normal hair types should not contain harsh ingredients, and unnecessary additives that weigh down the hair should also be avoided.

Typically, such shampoos have an acidity level of 4.5-5.5 PH. Neutral, balanced products for washing normal hair simply carefully remove impurities, contain standard surfactants, and are suitable for a problem-free scalp that is not complicated by such problems as itching, dandruff and other issues.

SHAMPOOS FOR OILY HAIR

The shampoo should be strong enough to handle oil and dirt well, but still be suitable for daily use. The product should not contain aggressive chemical components that will wash away all the sebum and the sebaceous glands will begin to work even harder. They often have a pH shift towards the more alkaline side, with an alkaline level of 6-7 PH.

If such a shampoo does not contain good caring ingredients, then the hair will be coarse and tangled, after which it is necessary to use a good mask.
I would recommend choosing a high-quality shampoo with mild surfactants, which are worse at washing but less irritating to the scalp.
Make sure that it does not contain moisturizers, silicones, or the inscriptions “nourishing”, “2 in 1”, “for colored hair”, “for all types”.

Once again I would like to draw your attention to the pH level, which should be identical to the pH of the scalp.
Note to those interested!

  • For oily hair it is 6-7,

  • for normal ones 5-5.5,
  • and for dry ones - 4.

I won’t touch on tint, pharmacy and GOSH.

This is not a budget selection, but if possible, do not deny yourself the pleasure of trying these specimens; I assure you, they will not disappoint.

Matrix So Long Damage shampoo with ceramides for hair restoration.

The shampoo is wonderful for its gentle cleansing, strengthens, restoring healthy shine to hair.

Hair restored from the inside and protected from the outside becomes soft and elastic. Ceramides penetrate the hair structure, fill damaged voids, gluing them together.
As a result, the scales fit tightly to each other, forming a smooth and even surface.
Prevents hair thinning, prevents hair destruction due to external influences. Aminosilicones settle in the form of small particles in the raised cuticle scales, mostly at the ends of the hair. As a result, the hair becomes healthy, elastic and shiny.
Moroccanoil Moisture Repair Shampoo

The shampoo gently and carefully cleanses the hair, saturating it with beneficial antioxidants: argan oil, avocado and olive oils, fatty acids, keratin, etc.
Restorative shampoo is suitable for hair damaged by chemical influences and coloring.
If you do not pay attention to the cost of the shampoo, you will notice a huge number of advantages: the shampoo copes with protection from UV radiation, has a pleasant smell and is very economical in consumption. And most importantly, it has pronounced nutritional and moisturizing properties and is perfect, if not for daily use, then certainly for frequent use.
Visible Repair Shampoo from Londa

The hair product is perfect for chemically treated, damaged, weakened, dry hair that requires special care.
Almond extracts and jojoba oil carefully restore the hair structure from the inside, protecting it from drying out and balancing it with moisture.
The shampoo is light but nourishing. With regular use, you can note that the shampoo detangles the hair even at the stage of washing your hair. Suitable for frequent use, availability of purchase and an acceptable pricing policy are added to the product’s pluses.
Schwarzkopf Professional shampoo Schwarzkopf Bonacure Color Freeze

Shampoo specially designed for colored hair balances color pigments. Cryo formulas - silk hydrolyzate, with the help of additional ingredients, polish the surface of the hair, providing it with a unique shine, and also does not wash out the shade of colored hair at the speed of light.
The shampoo maintains a stable level of moisture and restores the hair structure. And at the same time it is very soft and does not contain sulfates. The shampoo is moisturizing and suitable for daily use.

Revlon Masters Curly Shampoo

I timidly dare to hope that this copy may be of interest to owners of luxurious curls.

Revlon shampoo is perfect for caring for curly hair. It makes combing easier and prevents tangling. Hair becomes elastic and manageable.
Shampoo for curly hair moisturizes and nourishes curls. It has a pleasant unobtrusive aroma and delicately cleanses the scalp.
I think this description is enough to understand that I liked him.

CONCLUSION

After using shampoo, only the result after which:

  • well washed hair;
  • lack of fat on them;
  • shine of hair after drying;
  • the strands are well combed and obedient;
  • no scalp irritation.
The shampoo that suits me perfectly according to all the criteria is still standing somewhere on the shelves, waiting and calling me.
I haven’t found such a shampoo for myself, so I see the optimal solution as alternating 2 different shampoos; the alternation pattern is purely individual and depends solely on YOUR specific scalp.

See you soon and inevitably!
Your Self

You can search for your ideal shampoo for years, and you need to focus on the needs of the hair and scalp (its health directly affects the condition of the strands). In fear of drying out their skin (or getting into a vicious circle and starting to wash their hair even more often), many refuse to wash their hair daily and suffer from increased oiliness and an unkempt appearance. However, fear is not justified.

Armen Zakharyan, celebrity stylist at Barber Z salon and Kérastase expert, advises: “Talking about making your hair less dirty is an old myth. Modern shampoos, thanks to their high-quality formulas, delicately cleanse the scalp, so they can be used daily. The main thing is to choose soft products with neutral pH. Twice a week (no more often) use clarifying shampoos and exfoliating shampoos - they will more thoroughly and deeply cleanse the scalp from.”

In the summer, when you don't wear hats and are often in rooms with central heating, you can wash your hair less often. However, if you have oily hair, wash as needed. And be sure to use a mild cleansing shampoo after the pool or - salt and bleach must be washed off.

“When choosing a shampoo, focus on its composition,” advises Armen. - In hot weather, look for products with uva/uvb protection (yes, sunscreen shampoos are not uncommon), they will cover the strands with an invisible thin film, protecting them from the sun. And in winter, look for nourishing oils in the formula.”

FOR SUMMER

  • Kérastase, after-sun bath shampoo Après Soleil, RUB 2,190.

The shampoo deeply moisturizes the hair and saves it from the effects of vacation - drying out due to the sun and salt water. Bonus - if you have, the shampoo will retain the color.

  • L’Oréal Professionnel, After Sun Nourishing Solar Sublime shampoo, about 900 rub.

The same sunscreen shampoo that will not only deeply moisturize the strands, but also prevent ultraviolet radiation from penetrating the hair shaft.

FOR NORMAL HAIR

  • Dove, shampoo and conditioner 2 in 1 “Basic care”, about 200 rub.

The moisturizing complex in the composition allows you to use the shampoo every day. Smoothes and nourishes strands, giving them softness.

  • L’Oréal Paris, Botanicals “Lavender” shampoo, about 600 rubles.

Lavender essential oils, as well as coconut and soybean oils, delicately cleanse hair while moisturizing and nourishing it along its entire length. Ideal for those who wash their hair in the evening - the aroma of lavender instantly relaxes.

FOR DRY AND DAMAGED HAIR

  • Kiehl’s, Olive Fruit Oil nourishing shampoo, RUB 1,550.

Creamy shampoo is enriched with olive oil - due to this, it deeply nourishes and restores dry strands tired of constant styling. The hair becomes soft and manageable - and does not tangle even under the pressure of a strong wind.

  • OGX, Coconut Milk shampoo, RUB 495.

Nourishing thick shampoo contains coconut milk and oil, as well as egg white protein. Thoroughly nourishes dry and damaged hair and imparts a tropical coconut scent.

FOR OILY HAIR

  • Wella Professionals, Aqua Pure shampoo, about 500 rub.

The lotus extract in the composition is responsible for moisturizing the hair. At the same time, the shampoo perfectly cleanses strands of styling residues and impurities and allows you to prolong the feeling of freshness.

  • Honey Bunny, shampoo with fruit acids, 700 rub.

It contains almond extract, vitamin B5 and fruit acids, which smooth, soften hair and at the same time gently but thoroughly cleanse it. The shampoo is suitable for daily use, especially for those with oily hair, as it balances the work of the sebaceous glands of the scalp.
