By the year 2017 of the Fire Rooster, I decided to make my first felt toy. So I ask you not to find fault with the stitches and other shortcomings. I do not know the intricacies of working with this material. And if there are tips or comments, I will gladly read them.

How to make a fiery rooster out of felt:

A sketch can be drawn based on a beautiful picture from the network. In this regard, I like the request "rooster coloring pages". I improved the picture a bit - I enlarged the tail, changed the position of the comb and turned the rooster's head.

I will not post the resulting pattern directly in the post. BUT if someone does not want to suffer with the creation of their own patterns, write in the comments. I will send a pattern of this Fiery Rooster to everyone who wants it by e-mail.

1. We create a pattern: We put a blank sheet of paper on top of the drawing, arm ourselves with a pencil and circle all the significant elements, not forgetting to make allowances where the element will be sewn in, not glued. I circled by attaching the sheets to the window glass.

   

2. Carefully cut out each element with scissors. Do not forget to indicate what color of felt the part is cut from and in what quantity.

   

3. Cut out pattern pieces from felt. If the part is large, it is better to pin the template with a pin so that it does not move during the cutting process. We cut out the double parts at the same time, folding the felt in two layers. That way they will be the same.

   

4. First, we sew the beak, both halves of the beard and the scallop with a loop (overlock) seam. We fill the beard and scallop with sintepuh. The parts are small, so it is convenient to push the stuffing inside with a toothpick with a broken tip.

   

5. The next step is to sew the body along the back, in the area of ​​\u200b\u200bthe head, do not forget to insert the prepared scallop, beak, beard between the halves of the part.

   

6. Do not forget to stuff the head, neck and torso with sintepuh. It will be more difficult to push stuffing into a narrow part when it is completely sewn. We sew paws into the "pants". I didn't know how to do it, so I designed it with vertical stitches that imitate the division of feathers. I made the transition from stitch to stitch between layers of felt so that it was not visible.

   

7. We glue the parts of the wings, eyes, tail. We wait a couple of minutes until the glue grabs. But it is better to let it dry completely, postponing work for a couple of hours. The tail feathers must be glued together well, otherwise the soft felt tail will not stand, but will sag. We sew.

   

8. The hardest part is over. We glue the wings, eyes, shirt-front. The black half-bead imitates an expressive pupil. The craft is ready!

The dough is formed in the required figurine with notches and baked in the oven for half an hour at a temperature 110-120 degrees. After that, the dough must be painted with acrylic paints, draw all the details: eyes, lips, cheeks and cover with colorless nail polish.

Of wire needed make the foundation. All other elements will be attached to this base. The base should repeat the preferred figure, for example, a person. To do this, you need to prepare

Step by step workflow

1. Print and cut out patterns.

3. Fold the parts of the beak and beard of the rooster in half and fix this position with a few stitches.

4. Fold the seamy side inside the white felt parts A and A1. We sew these parts with a simple connecting seam in 1 thread.

Do not forget to sew in the comb, beak and beard.

5. We apply the detail of the breast B, starting from the serif b, combining it with the details A and sew it on.

6. We fill the body of the Cockerel with filler and stitch everything to the end, while not stitching a place for the ace tail.

7. Fold the colored details of the tail as you like and fix the folded position with a few stitches of thread.

8. We place the base of the tail in the non-stitched hole ac. Sew the tail with a seam "needle forward".

9. We cut the tail feathers with scissors in several places, give them a beautiful shape.

10. We glue the eyes or you can embroider the eyes with a French knot in 3 threads.

11. Sew on the wings.

12. We make legs from threads

To do this, add 12 floss threads (in our case, the thread size is about 60 cm). We thread these threads into the needle. We shift the needle to the middle of the bundle of threads, twist the ends tightly in opposite directions, pull the needle, connecting the ends of the threads. In this case, twisting occurs.

We tie the ends of the threads with a knot.

Using a needle, pull the tourniquet through the side seams of the rooster. Cut the needle and knot the other end of the threads.

With the help of a paper figure, you can quickly cut out a couple of blanks. You can use gray and white colors for the body, as in the picture. Or use felt of the same tones. In the same way, we prepare blanks for future details: tail, beak, wings, scallop and more.

Please note that when cutting feathers, an allowance is made in the upper part - about 4-5 mm. This allowance size will be used in other parts.

We collect details

It is optimal to start work from the tail. To do this, glue the lower feather to the appliqué. All subsequent feathers are superimposed on top of the previous one. Such an overlapping scheme will add volume to the toy. Without an allowance, cut out only the last one - a green feather.

Take a white pattern and cut out the head. From the red material, make a neck with a slight allowance on the sides and top. Apply a few drops of glue and fix on the base.

From scarlet material, cut out a beard with an allowance at the top. It is fixed over the neck plumage, with an overlap.
