Advice! Buttons can be glued around the perimeter of the picture frame, giving it a personality.

Wallpaper and panels

Often, after repairs, large pieces of beautiful wallpaper remain, which will be useful for making unusual interior paintings.

  1. Framed wallpaper is the easiest option to create something like this. panel. A piece of the desired shape is cut out of the roll and placed in the frame. Moreover, the ornament may coincide with the pattern on the walls or differ from it. Such elements can go in a row of 2-3 pieces.
  2. Golden paint and a stencil or small black-and-white photos stylized antique will help to revive a boring canvas in a frame. Such pictures from the wallpaper will fit perfectly into

Each resident of an apartment building dreams of diversifying his typical dwelling with a standard layout with an unusual decor that none of the neighbors will have.

One of these original ideas is voluminous sculptural compositions on the walls, which can be made independently from paper, fabric, putty, gypsum and other materials.

Here are some practical master classes that will allow you to make a three-dimensional picture with your own hands, adding some zest to the interior.

Master class on making a simple 3D paper picture

An ordinary application of colored paper, transferred to the wall, becomes a whole original painting or panel, it can even be called a sculpture. Volumetric paper paintings are very easy to perform, so with minimal creative skills, you yourself can create an unusual and unique composition.

To make a 3D picture, you need the following tools and materials:

  • a frame with high sides (you can replace it with an empty box of chocolates);
  • paper knife;
  • a simple pencil, ruler and scissors;
  • scrapbooking paper with a pattern or pattern;
  • a sheet of coated paper or thin cardboard;
  • PVA glue.

Operating procedure:

  1. The first thing to do is to cut out a "canvas" from coated paper or cardboard, on which the elements of the composition will be pasted.
  2. Next, you need to draw a diagram of the arrangement of volumetric elements on the "canvas" with a simple pencil.
  3. On a separate piece of paper, draw a sketch of a three-dimensional element for a future picture, for example, a heart. Carefully cut out the resulting template. If you can’t draw beautifully by hand, you can use ready-made templates purchased at a store or printed on a printer.
  4. Attach the heart template to the prepared coated paper and trace around the outline with a pencil. Similarly, in accordance with a well-thought-out scheme, arrange a few more hearts.
  5. Using a paper knife, make cuts on the sides of the drawn hearts, bypassing the upper and lower middle, as shown in the photo.
  6. Gently bend the two cut out halves of the heart towards each other to give it volume.
  7. Glue thin cardboard with cut-out volumetric elements on top of a sheet of scrapbooking paper so that the bright substrate shines through.
  8. It remains only to place the finished picture in a frame and hang it on the wall.

In this technique, fluttering butterflies, blooming flowers, a voluminous dress on a girl look very good.

Creating paintings on the wall using the technique of volumetric decoupage

Volumetric decoupage, or papertole, is a special technique for creating volumetric images directly on the wall. It is quite simple, but still requires certain skills and accuracy. A practical master class will tell you how to make volumetric paintings from paper with your own hands using the technique of volumetric decoupage.

What you need for work:

  • paper for papertoli - it must be thick and heavy;
  • silicone glue;
  • polymer clay;
  • towel and paper napkins;
  • polyurethane varnish;
  • scissors, brushes, pencil or felt-tip pen;
  • tweezers (for working with small details of the composition).

Order of execution:

  1. First, outline a diagram of the future picture right on the wall.
  2. Then cut out the pattern of your choice from decoupage paper or napkin. A very wide workpiece can be divided into two or three parts for ease of gluing.
  3. The elements of the painting are first dipped in warm water and then blotted with a paper towel.
  4. From the wrong side, grease the workpiece or its parts with silicone decoupage glue, attach it to the wall and lightly press down with a paper towel. It is necessary to very carefully adjust the joints of the parts of the composition to each other, as well as iron the image to avoid the formation of bubbles and remove excess glue.
  5. Next, we proceed to give our picture volume. A copy of the blank glued to the wall, cut into elements. Spread glue on one of the components of the picture, and on the wall in the place where it should be located, attach a piece of quick-drying polymer clay, additionally smearing it on top with glue. The processed piece of the picture is slightly soaked in water, blotted with a towel, smeared with glue again and glued to the clay.
  6. After a few hours, when the image is completely dry and the clay hardens, the painting is varnished with a thin paint brush.

In this way, a variety of relief patterns are created on the wall. In the photo you can see examples of works made using the volumetric decoupage technique.

Painting on the wall of putty

To create three-dimensional putty paintings on the wall, you need to have certain artistic skills, patience and a huge supply of time. This work is very painstaking. And yet, a three-dimensional picture made and designed with your own hands is worth investing such a large amount of work into it.

How exactly you will draw your picture depends on how large and complex the drawing or pattern will be, what application technique is used to create it. The master class will tell you the order of work.

Thanks to all sorts of ways to use the materials that we have at home, today it is no longer necessary to spend money on the purchase of decor elements. For example, from napkins or toilet paper, pictures are quickly and easily made that will decorate any residential interior.

You will not only not see analogues in other apartments, but you will also be able to save money, since very few materials are needed to create them. In several master classes of DIY toilet paper paintings, we will try to push you to new and original ideas.

What is needed for work

To make toilet paper paintings with your own hands, prepare the following materials and tools:

  • cardboard of good density, which will serve as the basis for the future picture;
  • PVA glue to create volume on the surface;
  • toilet paper;
  • several brushes, as well as high-quality gouache;
  • water container;
  • hairspray or acrylic spray;
  • pencil or marker for making marks.

Attention! Thin napkins can also be used to create three-dimensional paintings, but the result will differ due to the different textures of the materials.

This is a standard set that allows you to make paintings on any subject with your own hands. The very procedure for gluing paper elements will depend on what schemes and templates of toilet paper paintings you use with your own hands.

Master class "Painting of the Firebird"

Creating such a three-dimensional picture with your own hands from toilet paper begins with sketches on cardboard. Try to make them as clear and bright as possible, as thin lines may not be visible when applying glue.

Advice: to transfer the sketch to cardboard, you can select any drawing previously printed on the printer.

Now we prepare the glue: it should be diluted in water to a liquid creamy consistency. Tear the paper into medium-sized pieces.

Wet them in a glue blank, wring them out - and lay them on cardboard in accordance with the template to form three-dimensional elements of the pattern.

Please note that it is not necessary to make all parts of the image voluminous: let some details stand out, for example, individual feathers on the bright tail of the Firebird.

Before applying gouache, you can wait for the glue to dry completely with water. But the paint will lay better if you start painting only slightly dried paper elements.

Completely the picture will dry in two days. After that, you can cover it with varnish, and all that remains is to give the image a complete look with the help of a suitable frame.

Painting-fish

In continuation of the fauna theme, we suggest you try to make another picture depicting the underwater world. The procedure for its creation is similar to the previous master class: first of all, a sketch is applied to a cardboard surface, after that the elements soaked in glue are laid out - and after drying, the decoration process itself begins.

Pay attention to the presence of thin volumetric lines in the picture: the less material will be used to create individual details, the more clear and accurate the elements of the picture will turn out. For convenience, you can use not only toilet paper, but also napkins in some places: the paint will fall on such a base in different ways, and original color transitions will be obtained in the picture.

When decorating the fish motif, gilded paint was used, so the final version of the picture will come out with an aged effect.

You can implement other ideas: for example, use varnish and paints with a shimmering effect, sparkles, or even use additional materials (beads, sequins, ribbons) to create even more diverse decor elements for home interiors.

We create landscape motifs

Landscape is one of the most common subjects when creating homemade paintings. You have the opportunity to capture your favorite corner of nature and emphasize its realism due to volumetric details.

Since there are more elements in landscape paintings that need to stand out on a flat surface, the procedure for creating such scenes will be slightly different from others. Apply glue to the cardboard base - and glue the paper over the entire area, creating small folds in random order.

Attention! After that, you should wait until the paper with glue is completely dry, otherwise you risk shifting and tearing it in the process of creating additional details of the picture.

Using a marker, draw a sketch on the surface. Now start creating hills and stones, successively gluing pieces of toilet paper soaked in an adhesive solution and squeezed out before gluing. These elements should also be compressed a little to form folds: this will be more realistic.

Next, proceed to the formation of the crown and branches of trees. Use elongated pieces of toilet paper, twisted into flagella and wrapped in different directions. It is important that such flagella are completely saturated with a sticky mass, otherwise some parts of the tree will unwind and lose their desired shape.

If there is water in the landscape drawing, use horizontal paper pieces to sketch it. You can complete such a picture in about twenty minutes. Wait a bit until the details are partially dry - and start decorating the picture. Clear transitions between shades are better to soften a little: to do this, blur the borders with your finger.

After applying the paint, wait for the painting to dry completely - and proceed to create realistic strokes. On water, grass and wood, walk with your finger, previously dipped in paint a tone lighter than the original shade of these elements. You will get soft color transitions.

At the end, the picture can be varnished.

And here are a couple more charming examples of nature-themed toilet paper and PVA glue paintings that will complement your home design.

As you can see, additional materials are actively used to create a realistic effect when creating such paintings.

Paintings and panels from bushings

Another original example of using improvised materials is panels and paintings made from toilet paper rolls. To create such decorations, you will need the bushings themselves, scissors, glue, a pencil (if you cut out unusual details from them), as well as a base for a picture (cardboard, wood, and others).

Attention! For some panels and paintings in this style, it is not necessary to prepare the base. If the elements of the picture are securely connected to each other, you will only have to hang a complete composition.

First, decide on the theme of the picture. One of the most common options is an imitation of elegant metal forging. Such paintings may differ in design, but they all have twisted elements, so the strips of paper cut from the sleeves must be twisted and glued to maintain the desired shape.

Another simple example is a homemade panel made of bushings that imitates tree leaves. It can take a lot of time to prepare alone: it all depends on how many leaves of this type you plan to stick on the wall.

Another simple example of a painting: flower petals are made from elements of the same size, which should be placed on the canvas in random order.

Having got used to gluing such elements from tubes from rolls, you can create more complex compositions. As you understand, paintings from bushings are created in just a few steps: first, elements are cut (to create curls, petals, hearts, geometric ornaments), then they are twisted to obtain the intended shape, and after that they are glued to the base or connected to each other.

note that it will be easier to decorate the composition before gluing all the elements of the picture. After drying, you can only use varnish or glitter to create unusual effects on the surface.

We told you just a few ways to use toilet paper in home crafts. In addition to paintings, you can create many more interesting home accessories. But we advise you to start with these master classes, since you will make original paintings with your own hands quickly and without much difficulty.

Video

In the video below - another master class on making a beautiful panel from toilet paper rolls:

Each interior should have its own zest, and often the simplest and most elegant option to bring originality to the room is a picture.

But how do you find what will decorate your bedroom, living room or other room? Most likely, for the author's work, you will have to pay a large amount of money.

But if you do not count on additional expenses, but you still want to have something original, then it is quite possible to make an interesting picture with your own hands.

However, you don't have to be good at drawing. After all, paintings in the usual sense have long been replaced by three-dimensional images on the walls, abstract ideas embodied in a variety of techniques.

DIY fabric paintings

All quality canvases are made on a fabric basis. However, the modern interpretation of such paintings changes our view of art.

Modular fabric paintings have gained great popularity. But it's not that hard to make them yourself. In stores now you can find a lot of fabrics with a very beautiful, interesting and bright print.

If you liked one of them, then you can safely buy it and make an author's decor item.

Modular picture

To create such a room decoration as a modular fabric picture, you will need a base in addition to the selected material. It can even be a door from an old cabinet or a piece of chipboard, which could well be lying around somewhere in the garage after repair.

Cut out a few pieces from the base to the size of your fabric and fit the tree with it. Make sure that the fabric is well stretched and does not form wrinkles. Your painting is almost ready. It remains only to attach the hooks for which it will be attached to the wall.

Most often, such paintings consist of three or more modules, which can be either the same size or different. Their shape can also be different.

The most common and easiest to manufacture are square and rectangular elements. But there are round, oval and other forms of modules for paintings. Frames for picture modules in this case are not needed.

Pictures from clothes

Even a T-shirt can decorate your interior. It often happens that on clothes that you have not worn for so long, and their colors are still bright, stains or holes appear. You can not throw away a seemingly spoiled thing, but make an original picture out of it.

Cut out a rectangle with the image from the clothes, glue it on paper and place it in a frame. The photo shows that such paintings depicting cartoon characters will fit perfectly into the interior of a children's room.

Embroidery

In some way, embroidery can also be attributed to fabric paintings. This method of decorating the interior is not new. Even our great-grandmothers had at least one image embroidered with their own hands in the house.

However, to embroider a picture, you still need some skills and patience. This method is not suitable for everyone, but if you are engaged in needlework, then hand-embroidered pictures can say a lot about you as a hostess.

Volumetric paintings

Relief images on the wall are also very popular as decorative elements in the interior. Volumetric paintings can be made with plaster on the wall even before it is finished.

But such a decoration can only take place when it is not planned to stick wallpaper on the wall.

Note!

The method of making such paintings requires training and a considerable amount of time. Therefore, it is not suitable for everyone.

paper pictures

There is an easier way to make a 3D image. To do this, you will need colored paper or cardboard. Cut out several figures of the same or different sizes from it. It can be, for example, butterflies.

Using pins or double-sided tape, attach them to the wall in a chaotic manner or forming some kind of pattern. Your paper painting will look more impressive if you choose a color that contrasts with the tone of the wall itself.

Butterflies themselves can also be of different colors. Such a picture will sparkle with new colors when artificial lighting is on, so it will look most advantageous in rooms where the light is switched on most often, for example, in the corridor.

If your house has a staircase to the second floor, then the kittens in different poses, placed on the wall, to which the steps adjoin, will look original.

Paintings from bushings

To make a voluminous decor with the image of flowers and leaves, toilet paper or paper towel sleeves will help. It is enough to flatten the cylinder a little and cut it into equal parts about 2-3 cm wide.

Note!

In order for the flowers to be brighter and the leaves to stand out in color even before work begins, the bushings can be painted in different colors. The individual parts of the sleeve should be placed in such a way that a flower forms, so that you can compose entire compositions.

Paintings made of artificial flowers

The easiest to make are pictures of artificial flowers or other decorative elements. The main thing here is to beautifully glue the finished parts to the base.

For this technique, you will need a frame, solid material and the actual image itself. Wrap a sheet of paper with a cloth, wrapping its edges and gluing it on the back.

Then, after removing the glass from the frame, insert the base of your picture into it and glue artificial flowers or other details (shells, dry twigs, etc.) to it. At the end, you can decorate the frame with beads.

If you already have a finished canvas, then there are many master classes on how to decorate a picture that has already bothered you and thereby update the interior.

Note!

A flat image of nature or still life can look completely different if you attach a few volumetric details to it.

It can be either an image cut out of paper or natural materials in the form of dry leaves or even butterflies.

Photo of paintings with your own hands

A light painting or a painting with light and shadow is an interesting installation, a piece of decor or just an original luminous night light. With the help of simple stationery items, you can create an original 3D picture with your own hands that will decorate any room.

This frame is a modular picture, consisting of several layers, which are illuminated by LED strip. Each of the layers depicts its own scene, thanks to the layering and the effect of volume is achieved. Depending on which LED strip is chosen, the 3D picture made of paper and cardboard will be monochrome or multi-color with many lighting effects.

We'll need

To create a modular picture, you need:

  • White printer paper 3-4 sheets (depending on the number of layers)
  • White cardboard sheets (also depends on the number of layers)
  • Cardboard
  • Paper cutter
  • White or transparent glue
  • Pencil
  • LED strip with power supply

DIY 3D painting

Design and plot selection

First you need to think about the design and plot of the light picture, as well as the number of layers. The landscape can either be drawn by hand or found on the Internet and printed on a printer. Decorations and characters, if desired, are easy to add in Photoshop.

Next, print the blanks and transfer them to white sheets of cardboard. This can be done in many ways, for example, by combining the sheets and tracing the printed outline, after that a trace will remain on the cardboard, which can be traced again with a pencil.

Layer preparation

Using a paper cutter, cut off the excess cardboard and make the necessary holes (careful with small details does not hurt). After that, combine all the layers and see what happened, all the elements should be in place and have a finished look. It is better to do this at the beginning, before everything is glued, and to do the work on a surface that you do not mind scratching.
