And you don't have to buy New Year's decorations in the store, you can make them yourself. Christmas tree decorations made of felt and fleece are especially touching. Many bright and cute toys can be made from these materials. I propose to sew an elegant horse to decorate the Christmas tree.
To make a toy horse you will need:
- soft light brown fleece for the torso and legs of the horse;
- brown felt for mane, tail and ears;
- red felt for the saddle;
- four beads of medium size for attaching the legs;
- one bead for decorating the eyelet;
- bright red bridle cord;
- white lace for the eyelet;
- blue ribbon with white polka dots for a bow on the tail;
- scissors;
- toy eyes with movable pupils or black beads;
- synthetic winterizer;
- red and brown sewing threads;
- a needle.
The procedure for making a toy horse
1. First, we make a paper horse pattern - draw the body, leg, eyelet and saddle, and then cut out the details from the paper. We will use these patterns to cut out the details of the horse from the fabric. When cutting out the parts, we will not add seam allowances.
2. Cut out two parts of the body from light brown fleece using a paper pattern.
3. To make the mane out of brown felt, cut out a rectangle 5 cm wide and 6 cm long. Make deep frequent cuts on the rectangle.
4. Cut out eight legs from the light brown fleece.
5. Cut out two parts of the eyelet from brown felt.
6. Cut one piece of the saddle out of red felt.
7. For the ponytail, cut out a rectangle 10 cm long and 6 cm wide from brown felt.
8. Fold the details of the legs with the wrong sides in two pieces and sew them along the edge with the wrong seam. Leave the bottom sides unstitched for now.
9. Fill each leg a little with padding polyester and sew the unsewn sides with a buttonhole stitch.
10. The details of the torso are also folded with the wrong sides, sewing in the mane. Leave part of the body unstitched so that you can fill it with padding polyester.
11. Fill the body a little with padding polyester and sew up the unsewn hole.
12. Now we need to sew the legs of our horse. To do this, take the torso and attach two legs in the front part so that they are located on both sides of the torso. Sew on the legs, simultaneously piercing both legs and the body and sewing on a bead on each side.
13. Twist the ponytail detail into a tube and grab it with brown threads in the upper part.
14. Sew the horse's tail with brown threads.
15. Take the toy eyes and glue them to the horse's face.
16. Detail of the saddle made of red fleece, sew to the back of the horse with small stitches.
17. Fold each eyelet, cut out of brown felt, in half and sew on the sides of the horse's head.
18. Make a bridle out of a red lace. To do this, we will first tie the lace around the face, and then around the neck.
19. To make the horse smart, tie a blue ribbon bow on its tail.
20. It remains to make a loop for our toy horse so that you can hang it on the Christmas tree. To do this, take a piece of white lace approximately 20 cm long. Fold the lace in half and tie it at the end.

Materials and tools:
Two pieces of linen fabric - 35 * 35 cm, gold-colored zig-zag braid - 1m, curly sequins, bugles, eyelet, yellow cotton threads, needle, white cardboard, synthetic winterizer, markers, rubber glue, plain pencil , scissors

1. We transfer the drawing to the fabric
2. Sew the zig-zag braid on the tail and mane with “secret” stitches.
3. We decorate the wavy edge of the mane, sew or glue round sequins. Sew elongated sequins to the hooves and the pattern on the neck. We decorate the harness with sequins in a flower and draw with a marker.
4. We embroider a peephole, use a blue bugle, glue the peephole.
5. According to the template, cut out the contour of the "horse" from cardboard and padding polyester, stepping back from the edge inward 0.5 cm.
6. Add up the received details:
a) a piece of linen fabric 35 * 35 cm;
b) a cardboard outline;
c) padding polyester contour;
