It is known that dragonflies have brightly colored wings, and this makes the insect attractive.
Let's try to make dragonflies ourselves and decorate them using colored self-adhesive film.
Sequence of work:
Prepare a sheet of paper for work in A3 format.
Draw a dragonfly

Cut out a sketch of a dragonfly along the contour

Trace with a simple pencil the outline of the cut out dragonfly on the green self-adhesive film

From colored film, cut out the drawn details to decorate the dragonflies, place them inside the dragonfly model, and secure with glue. Decoration of details can be very diverse, depending on your imagination.
Options for decorating dragonflies:

Let's arrange the finished dragonflies on different backgrounds.
Let's see how dragonfly models will look on a blue background

Let's see how the dragonfly models fly in the air on a white background

We attach clothespins to the dragonfly model, we get antennae, the model can be used as a finger simulator for developing fine motor skills for children.

Thus, the applique technique allows you to create expressive images, promotes the development of cognitive activity, practical skills in creative types of work.

Made with your own hands by a child, it will decorate any sunny or cloudy summer day, reminding you of the moments spent by the river or lake.

Before making a dragonfly, prepare in advance:

  • a dozen or two large beautiful ones;
  • two pieces of chenille wire: one in the color of the beads, the other in any shade;
  • scissors.

The most affordable dragonfly craft for children is made according to a simple principle:

We cut off a piece of chenille wire for our beads.

You can also use regular wire, but it will be less convenient, since the beads easily slide down along it. Chenille fibers fix them in one place.

We fluff the tip of the wire well to keep the beads in place.

We string the beads onto the wire. The younger the child, the larger the holes in the beads should be, otherwise he will not be able to cope with the work.

Towards the end, we leave a gap between the beads, as if separating the dragonfly’s head from its body. Fluff the tip well again. The DIY dragonfly craft is almost done, all that remains is to make its flying machine.

Cut the second piece of wire into two parts - one larger, the other smaller. We connect the edges of each piece into a ring.

We twist each ring in the middle to get a figure eight.

We wrap the resulting figure eights around the dragonfly’s body in the place where there is a gap free from beads.

The charming dragonfly is ready to fly all summer, just like in the famous fable by the famous author. If you make several of these crafts, you can decorate your front garden, bouquet of flowers or garden area with them. And a little dragonfly will be a wonderful summer hair decoration for young fashionistas.

As a garden decoration, we suggest making a funny dragonfly from wire, beads and industrial plastic. You can vary the size of the craft yourself, based on the amount of material at your disposal.

To work you will need

  • a piece of wire (approximately 1.5 m);
  • plastic bottle of any color;
  • pliers or round nose pliers;
  • large beads with a large hole.

Sequence of work:

First, draw a full-size sketch of a dragonfly on a piece of paper. This is necessary so that during the work you can form a silhouette from the wire according to the drawing and not disturb the proportions.

Cut two pieces of wire approximately 75 cm each. Thread both through the largest bead, which will be the dragonfly's head, so that the ends of the wire extend approximately 10 cm out of the bead.

To prevent the bead from sliding along the wire, secure it as follows: on the “antennae” side, twist the wires together, and on the wing side, twist the wires through the pencil using pliers. The resulting air loop will secure the position of the bead.

Bend pieces of wire 3-4 cm long in half, making 8 parts in total. Pierce holes on the plastic wings with an awl or thick needle, thread loops through them and attach to the dragonfly according to the sketch.

Make a dragonfly hanger from a piece of wire of any size. To do this, first twist the wire into an elongated loop, bend the ends with pliers so that you get hooks and use them to hook the dragonfly by the antennae.

Since wire is a plastic material, the shape of the product can be easily changed and restored using pliers. The dragonfly can also be given an elegant shape by bending the body with beads in a smooth line.
