A heart using the origami technique has several options for making it; beginners in this art should practice on rough pieces of paper.

You will need: a square sheet (for example, 20 by 20 centimeters) of red or hot pink paper.

By folding many of these hearts, you can make a garland by attaching the figures with glue to a cord, ribbon or braid.

Beautiful heart with a pattern

The heart will look more interesting if you choose paper with a contrasting color on the sides.

The shape of the paper you will need is rectangular, the length should be twice the width.

• Place a sheet of paper horizontally, fold it in half, and unfold it.

• Fold the lower right corner up to the middle of the sheet so that a triangle emerges. Straighten the sheet, do the same with the remaining corners.

• A rectangle with two letters “X” came out. Grab one of them in the center, bring your fingers together, press down the funnel formed on top so that it folds into a triangle.

• Repeat this step for the second "X".

• Fold the free corners towards the center, perpendicular to the fold, and lift the resulting triangle. Pressing on the central axis, straighten it so that a square comes out. Repeat for the remaining three triangles.

• Turn the workpiece over. Take the top corner of the diamond and move it down towards the bottom corner. Turn the workpiece over to the front side again.

• Fold the edges of the squares resulting from step 5 from the central axis to their center.

• Bend the corners at the edges back so that the shape now resembles an origami heart.

• Open the triangles the same way as in step 5.

Turn the craft over to the front side.

Heart shaped paper bookmark

A bookmark is a quick and simple paper gift.

The scheme for its manufacture is extremely simple:

1. Fold the rectangular sheet in half horizontally, mark the middle line.
2. Bend the left and right ends up.
3. Fold about a third of the top edge back, folding the corners to form a heart.

You will need: a square sheet of colored paper. Make a garland from ready-made hearts to decorate a room or window.

Modular 3D heart

A modular origami heart will be an unusual gift. It will require 428 triangular-shaped paper modules of a suitable color. The process is quite labor-intensive, here is a step-by-step description:

1. At the beginning of the assembly process you need two closed rows of 5 modules, the third - 10 modules.
2. Next, insert the modules between the modules and fix them.
3. For the next row, the assembly process is standard.
4. For the new row, put on the modules as before, but now between the three modules add two more modules without fixing them so that the origami becomes voluminous. Do the same on the opposite side. Insert two more modules on both sides to the additional ones.
5. The assembly process for the next row is normal.
6. In those places where additional modules were added in the bottom row, insert two modules again on both sides to make the heart even more voluminous.
7. To assemble the next four rows you need 34 modules each.
8. On the sides, where the thickenings are located, make 8 rows, alternating four and three modules in a row on each side, finish the 9th row with two modules. Connect the rows in an arc.
9. Make 5 more rows on each free side.

If you want your modular origami heart to last long enough, string the modules out of paper after smearing them with glue. Thanks to the cavity inside, the heart can be used as a box for a small gift.

First, let's figure out what origami is. This is the art of folding paper shapes. And modular origami is a traditional Japanese technique of folding origami, in the process of which several sheets of paper are used. From each individual sheet a module is made according to the rules of classic origami, and then the finished modules are connected by nesting into each other. Today we would like to give you a master class on making a three-dimensional heart using modular origami. This handmade figurine will serve you as a piece of furniture. It can be given to your loved one on Valentine's Day instead of an ordinary Valentine's card or on any other occasion. Receiving a gift made by yourself is much nicer. We offer you step-by-step instructions that show you how to make such a voluminous heart, created using the modular origami technique.

Volumetric heart made using modular origami technique as a gift

1) To do this we need to make 370 red modules.

2) For the first and second rows, take 5 modules each and connect them in a circle. For the second row, take 5 more modules and connect them as shown in the figure. As a result, there will be 10 modules in the second row.

3) For the third row, take 10 modules and add to them modulo, as in the previous row.

4) For the fourth row, take 20 modules. Let's divide them in half and add one module on each side opposite each other.

5) We repeat the fifth row in the same way as the fourth, only without additions. But in the sixth row we add two modules each.

6) For the seventh row, take one module at a time and insert them into the additional modules of the sixth row.

7) We assemble the eighth row in the same way as the seventh. And we assemble the ninth and tenth rows without additions.

8) Now you need to find the added modules of the eighth row and place four modules on both sides between them. Now put three modules on these four modules. And so we repeat (4-3) until it turns out like a handle on a basket.

9) We should have seven rows on each side, and the last row should consist of two modules. Then we bend both sides into the middle.

10) And now, so that there is no hole between the so-called handle and the sides, you need to add a module.

11) After this, close the last three rows and press them to the handle.

12) Here we have our three-dimensional heart, which will serve as an excellent gift for you for any occasion.

Master class on creating a gift from the heart

Let's try to fold one more modular heart to consolidate the result.

1) To do this, take A-4 sheets of red and white colors. From them we will make 98 red and 80 white modules.

2) We will place all modules in the rows on the short side.

3) We start with one module, but gradually increase their number in each row.

It must be remembered that in each row the first and last modules should be put on single corners so that the free pockets are inside the modules. From the first to the fourth rows we take only red modules, increasing by one module with each row.

4) For the fifth row, take 5 modules in the following sequence: 2 red, 1 white and again 2 red.

5) For the sixth row, 6 modules are needed: 2 red, 2 white, 2 red.

6) And now we continue to increase the white modules in the middle of the future heart with each row, bringing it to six white modules.

7) Now be careful: starting from the eleventh row, one red module appears in the middle between the white modules. This sequence is: 2 red, 3 white, 1 red, 3 white, 2 red.

8) In the twelfth row, 2 red modules already appear in the middle in the following sequence: 2 red, 3 white, 2 red, 3 white, 2 red.

9) We continue to increase the number of red modules in the middle until we reach four.

10) Starting from the fifteenth row, we will round off the sides of our heart. To do this, you need to put 2 white modules on the white modules of the fourteenth row in the middle, then put 2 more red modules to the left and right of them.

11) On the sixteenth row we put on 5 red modules.

12) And on the seventeenth row ─ 4 red modules.

13) And repeating the same, we do it on the other side.

14) Now our second heart is ready. Now we'll make a stand for it. Let's take the white modules and begin to assemble the first and second row at the same time. In each of which we will install 12 modules and close them in a ring.

15) And in the third row we begin to alternate red and white modules in the following sequence: 1 white, 1 red, and so on for a total of 12 modules.

16) All that remains is to glue our heart onto the stand. And here's another gift ready!
