How to make a diaper bike.

This bike is not big, 36 diapers were used to make it.

We will need: two thin diapers, one bottle, one pair of socks, a wide satin ribbon, four small flowers, wire, a needle and thread and one small towel for a bicycle saddle (can be replaced with another diaper or two bibs).

We take a pack of diapers and divide them into three parts: two equal ones (for the rear wheels) and one larger one (for the front wheel). We twist them into wheels with the help of a can inserted inside. We will get three wheels from diapers. For beauty and better stability, wrap them with a wide tape, glue the ends of the tape.

We twist two thin diapers into thin dense tubes, put stationery rubber bands on the ends. Now we push both tubes into the middle of the front wheel from the diapers. One of the diapers will be the steering wheel, we lift it up and tie it. The second tube will connect the whole structure together, its ends are pushed from the outside into the middle of the two rear wheels from the diapers. Between the wheels, twist both ends of the diaper well with wire and slide the rear wheels towards each other. All! The main structure is ready, now it's up to the decoration.

We unbend the steering wheel as it should, put on children's socks at the ends. The folded diaper is quite stiff and holds its shape well. If the steering wheel still falls, then before twisting the diaper, you can put the wire inside and then bend it as you need. So that the diaper wheels do not roll and the “saddle” does not move out, you can fasten them together with a satin ribbon with a few stitches. The front paws of the teddy bear are also desirable to be sewn through with a couple of stitches to the steering wheel. Sew not too hard, so that later it can be easily cut.

To make a cake from diapers, we need:

3 flannel diapers
- 1 thin small blanket
- 8 pairs of socks
- 4 baby spoons
- 2 toys
- 100 pieces. diapers

In addition, the following will be useful in work: clothespins, stationery rubber bands, regular laundry gum, a long thin stick, safety pins.

The size of the cake depends on the number of diapers, on average, it takes 100 pieces to make one cake. You can take three packs with different sizes: one for newborns, one of the first size and one of the second size. If you want a bigger cake, then buy more of a larger size. You can generally make the whole cake from one size - convenient for parents: you won’t have to figure out how to arrange the diapers by size later. For example, from the 2nd size or the 3rd, but definitely not from the 1st and not for newborns (children grow up too quickly, or maybe the child will be born big and he will immediately be size 2 at the right time?). The width and thickness of different sizes differ, but then it is not very noticeable.

Now about the cake floors. Somewhere on the Internet I met such proportions: 1:2:3:4. To be honest, only the first proposition is the same for me, but in general it turns out differently every time. It all depends on the density of the twisting of the diapers, the size and style of the cake. Specifically, in this, each new level differs from the previous one by one ring of twisted diapers, so it turned out to be narrow and high. I made my very first cake from the same number of diapers, but only three tiers - so that there would be a place where to put toys later, so he is a fat man.

I start making a cake from the top level. I always use 7 pieces of diapers on him.

So, we take out the diaper from the pack and, without unfolding it, we turn it into a tube. We start with an elastic band, then we get a neat fold on the side, and if the elastic band is slightly tucked inward, then it will not stick out on the sides. The tube should be quite dense and, so that it does not unwind ahead of time, hook it on top with a clothespin. In total, you need to wind 7 tubes.

Now we put one tube in the middle, and place the remaining 6 around it and put on top of the clerical gum.

We fold the diaper several times, so that its width is exactly equal to the height of the folded diapers. We wrap the tubes with a folded diaper and we have the uppermost level. Attach the edge of the diaper with a safety pin (I use special diapers - they are larger and prettier).

On the next floor, you will need 19 diapers (7 + 12): 7 - for the same cylinder that was done above and 12 - for the outer circle. First, we make the center as written above, fasten it with an elastic band, then slip twisted cylinders under the elastic around the perimeter and form an outer circle. It is better to remove clothespins at the very last turn, otherwise the cylinders tend to unwind at the most inopportune moment. Again we wrap it with a folded diaper and fix the edge. Yes, it is better to fold the diaper diagonally, then the edge for fastening will not be so thick.

43 diapers (7+12+24) were used for the third level. We do everything as in the second level, only on the outside we tie it with a linen elastic band, and not a clerical one, and slip another outer circle under it. It turns out inside - 1, then a circle of 6 cylinders, then of 12 and at the end of 24.

The next level can be continued in the same way as the previous one, just add one more outer contour. It seems too complicated for me, I do it differently: first I cook 3 piles of 7 pieces, then I tie them with an elastic band, insert folded cylinders into empty places, and then I add an outer circle around the perimeter. We wrap the last largest level with a blanket.

Well, now all our floors are ready and we can start decorating. Firstly, if possible, remove the rubber bands from the cylinders, and secondly, now we need a thin stick - we stick it in the center through all the layers - it will keep our structure from shifting. If the cake is not high, then the stick can be replaced, for example, with a wooden spoon. Another important point: you need to put a rigid base under the cake, otherwise, when you pack everything, the lower layers may fall apart - a round cardboard box will be enough.

For decoration, my choice was not very large: two toys, 4 spoons and socks, so I decided that the socks would be candles. I cut out rectangles from cardboard, put socks on them!

Along the perimeter, for beauty, sprinkled with artificial grass. And voila, your homemade diaper cake is ready! Now you can think about making such cakes to order and turn your hobby into a home business.

Do-it-yourself diaper train.

This train is not big, 36 diapers of the second size were used for its manufacture.

We will need: three thin diapers, one T-shirt, two pairs of socks, wide and narrow satin ribbons, seven small flowers, a needle and thread and one small towel.

We make wheels. We twist three diapers without unfolding into a cylinder. Be sure to put a thin ribbon inside, like a wheel axle, for attaching to the platform (they are not in the photo because I didn’t do it right away, and then it turned out to be very difficult to push the ribbons through).

For beauty and better stability, we wrap the cylinders tightly with a wide tape, glue the ends of the tape with a hot gun. We make two wheels in this way, and for the third we take 5 or 6 diapers - it will be under the cab, i.e. it will carry more weight than the others. Make all the wheels as tight as possible, otherwise, under the weight of the train, they will become not round, but flat.

Similarly, we make a large cylinder in front of the cabin of the train: we twist two cylinders of 3-5 diapers and wrap them together with a diaper.

For the platform, cut out a rectangle measuring 14x25, wrap it with a diaper. We fix the wheels, as in the photo below.

We use all the remaining diapers for the cabin. To do this, we fold them into a rectangle, give them a slightly trapezoidal shape, put on a T-shirt and wrap a diaper around the perimeter.

Now it's up to assembly. We fasten the cab and the large cylinder with thin ribbons (the ribbons are simply passed under the platform and glued with hot glue). The pipe is twisted from one pair of socks and sewn to the ribbon. Another pair of socks is sewn to the cockpit and depicts windows. A small green towel is folded diagonally and the ends are sewn together, it is simply put on the platform in front. The dog is also simply sandwiched between the cab and the cylinder (you can replace it with some kind of picture or pick up a T-shirt with a suitable pattern). For beauty, add flowers.

Attachment to base. I pierce holes in the cardboard base with an awl and through them the entire locomotive is attached to the wheels with the help of wire.

With the advent of disposable diapers, the life of parents has become much simpler, because there is no need to wash numerous diapers and undershirts every day, instead you can buy one-time paper panties. • disposable - is a square or triangular piece of gauze, which is wrapped between the legs of the crumbs in the form of a standard factory diaper;
• reusable - made of dense fabric, knitwear or other natural material is suitable for this, in no case take material with silk threads, as it can become electrified and cause discomfort to the child. Replaceable gauze diapers are inserted inside the panties; for the convenience and practicality of the product, an oilcloth pocket can be made in the center.

The main difference between disposable and reusable diapers is the frequency of their change: if a model with replaceable liners needs to be washed on average 1-2 times a day, then a disposable analogue requires washing after the first use. Based on this, you need to determine what type of gauze product you want to make with your own hands.

To sew diapers with your own hands, it is not at all necessary to contact the atelier, you can do this work yourself, even if you do not know how to handle thread and needle at all.

You will need to purchase cuts of madapolam - this is a thin chintz fabric, in structure it resembles gauze, but a little denser. For sewing one homemade product, you will need 80 cm of fabric (it turns out a square, since the standard cut width is also 80 cm), it is better to take a piece 1-2 cm more, which is needed for hem. Before twisting the diaper, the edges of the cut must be overcast or stitched on a sewing machine.

Now you can start creating a diaper with your own hands:

• fold the square in half, lay it in front of you in a horizontal position with the fold down;
• with two hands we take the cut by the side edges: with the right hand for the upper edge, with the left - for the bottom;
• pull the top edge to the right, and move the bottom edge to the middle of the top line - we get a gauze triangle;
• turn the product over so that you can continue working with the rest of the material. We fold it several times towards the center. Thus, a gauze seal is obtained in the central part of the diaper.

You can twist products daily, or you can sew the resulting design by sewing the compacted part to the base, this will make it difficult to dry used diapers, but it will save you a lot of time in the future.

A diaper is made from a diaper in the same way, but it is worth remembering that the diaper fabric will be denser, so such products are suitable for older children, you should not use them for newborn babies.

Putting on handmade diapers for newborns is not difficult, since the process is similar to using store-bought ones. First, spread the gauze product in the shape of a triangle with the sharp end down, lay the baby in the center and wrap the bottom edge over the tummy. Now start twisting the sides - first one edge, then the other. The ends of the gauze are pulled inward, watch the tightness of the twist so that the baby does not squeeze the tummy. For ease of use, the side ends of the gauze diaper can be equipped with Velcro, which will simplify the process of fixing the product on the body.

To create a reusable model, you will need to sew a blank for panties from a dense fabric. A small oilcloth pocket is sewn in the center of the product on the inside, which will prevent the flow of liquid.

In addition to the main form, you will need gauze inserts that need to be changed after each bowel movement, so it is worth making 10-15 such gauze additions. Usually, standard gauze, folded in 4-5 layers, is used for lining; for convenience, the design can be sewn on the sides, which will reduce the time for changing clothes for the crumbs.

It is worth noting that reusable gauze diapers are not very convenient for newborns, as they require dressing through the legs. However, this problem can be solved by making a base with unbuttoned sides - buttons or buttons can be attached there.

Gauze products for the baby will be a real salvation in case of a lack of funds to buy ready-made diapers from the store, in addition, they have numerous advantages:

• environmental friendliness - the only material that comes into contact with the skin of babies is gauze, so the baby is protected from irritation and rubbing, which is especially important for newborn babies;
• sterility - gauze is required after each trip to the toilet, so the skin of the crumbs does not come into contact with feces, which prevents infection and irritation;
• financial savings - usually home-made products are sewn from gauze, which has a much lower price than disposable diapers, in addition, a one-time purchase of the necessary cut will allow you not to spend money on personal hygiene items for a long time;
• ease of use - by twisting several models, you will learn how to carry out this operation as quickly and deftly as possible, so there are no difficulties with preparing and putting on;

1. Open the package and right in it, without separating or pushing them apart, count 36 diapers. We take a number of diapers of the right amount from the package, without violating the order, put them on the table.

2. We tie it with a linen elastic, tightening it not too tight so that it does not break the row, but not too weak so that it does not let it fall apart. In the photo, the elastic is wrapped in two turns, but if you want, you can wrap it with one turn for now. On the top side of the diapers, put a cup under the elastic band.

3. Packed diapers always have a slight slant to one side. This is where we start turning them. In order for the circle to immediately form correctly, lightly wrap the diapers around the cup.

4. With one hand, grasp the cup and the diapers, as if fixing the beginning of the circle, and with the other, 1 little thing at a time, begin to increase the distance between the pressed diapers along the outer perimeter. Pressing the base of the right hand with your left hand, slide in the direction of the circle and slightly pull each subsequent diaper an even distance.

5. Our circle is already beginning to form.

6. The further you advance, the harder the circle will form. In order not to spoil the work already done, with the left hand we lightly hold the already aligned diapers so that they do not deform, and with the right we continue to increase the distance along the outer perimeter.

7. At the end of the circle, again with your left hand, hold the base together with the cup. Do not let the diapers move or change position so that the middle of the circle does not deteriorate. With the right we take the rest of the unformed diapers and wrap them in the right direction.

8. In the center of the cake, around the cup, constantly adjust the diapers so that they do not lie in packs, but twist evenly in the right direction. So they fit nicely and neatly in the center, and in the future will allow us to freely choose the diameter of the circle.

9. At the “freshly baked” cake, we align and hold the middle. We adjust the beginning to the tail.

10. The gum should always be strictly in the middle of the cake. If you do not follow it, the cake will “lead” to one side, and then it will be difficult to straighten it out.

11–12. When the circle is ready it is very weak. Carefully untie the bow with an elastic band, (the whole circle may fall apart, do not let the elastic out of your hands), tighten the knot tighter and make a second turn around the cake, tie it into a knot and a bow. Double elastic will allow us to adjust the diameter of the circle and the density.

13. We put the cake on the edge and begin the last stage of equalizing the distance between the diapers. Here you can already tighten them up a little. The elastic should not be too tight so that the diaper can easily be adjusted to the desired distance.

15. When you complete the circle. The cake is tightened with an elastic band even tighter and you can leave it at that density, but this form implies filling in the middle (our version). But if you decide to make a cake without filling, then now is the time to remove the glass from the center and tighten the cake to maximum density. The first and largest circle is ready. Now, therefore, according to the principle, we prepare cakes 2 (medium) of 24 diapers and 3 (small) of 12 diapers.

That's how we got three gorgeous cake base layers. Neatly, hygienically and very nicely packed pack of diapers. Your baby's parents will thank you.

Stage 2. Filling:

We hide the "stuffing" in the cake. The diameter of the glass in the center does not limit our capabilities so much that we can put anything there. Children's cosmetics, clothes, toys, and much more interesting and necessary for a young mother. We spread the glass, and instead we insert an impressive pack of wet wipes and shampoo. At the second cake, we also carefully lay out the glass and put it on the first cake. We also deprive the third cake of the middle and put it on the second. We put a bathing agent in an empty place. This will be the base that holds the cake together.

Our cake is again in its original form, but this time with a filling. Now on each cake we untie the bow and tighten the circles more tightly. This is done to compact and level all tiers. Now our cake will not collapse, and notice that there is not a single fastener in it yet. Let me remind you though! If you want to leave it empty, then it's time to take out the cups, pull the circles tighter and stick an ordinary wooden skewer (one or two) from the top cake to the bottom. Or a foil tube.

Stage 3. Composition layout:

To decorate the base, we take diapers. We fold them so that we get a strip equal to one turn of the cake in length and width. This is done very simply. Fold an approximate strip and in the center attach the cake to it with an edge. The width is immediately visible, and the length is determined by the connection of the two ends of the diaper around the cake. If the diaper is too long, you can tuck one of the sides (in the photo, the first diaper is tucked up on the left). If short, use it either on a small cake, or fold it diagonally. We use baby safety pins to fasten diapers. They will then be useful to the gifted mother. After the cake is fastened, carefully pry off the elastic and pull it out. Now the diaper will hold the entire cake. The living construction of the cake itself regulates the filling. As soon as you remove the elastic, it unwinds to the desired size and fills the entire space inside the diaper. So your cake will always be perfect in density, accuracy and appearance. No additional rubber bands, ribbons, etc.
