About what does not violate the post? About what does not break the fast during treatment

1. Is it possible for a fasting person to swim in a pond?

During the fast, one can bathe with the intention of cooling off or taking a ghusl (full bath) and this does not spoil the fast. However, care must be taken to ensure that water does not enter through the nose and mouth. A hadith from Abu Dawud says that the Prophet (S.Gs.), during fasting, fleeing from heat and thirst, poured water on his head. According to scientists, water that gets into the ears while swimming does not spoil the fast.

2. Is it allowed to smear cream on a person who fasts during the month of Ramadan?

Substances that penetrate through the pores on the human skin do not spoil the fast. For example, you can use creams, ointments, oils, dressing wounds. However, the use of a cream or ointment should be in moderation. Because an excessively dense layer of cream or ointment can prevent the penetration of water during taharat - ablution, and it will not be correct.

3. Should pregnant women fast?

Sharia allows a pregnant or lactating woman not to fast, postponing it for later if there is a danger to the health and life of the child or mother. In a hadith cited by Sahaba Anes bin Malik, our Prophet (s.g.s.) says: “... Truly, the Almighty shortened prayer for a traveler, and did not make fasting obligatory for a traveler, a pregnant, lactating woman ...”

4. If you overslept for suhoor - morning meal, what to do?

If, for various reasons (including sleep), a believer who is fasting misses suhur, the morning meal, then on that day he must (without eating) make niet and keep the fast. Because our beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), on the Day of Ashura ordered to announce: “If anyone accidentally ate something, let him stop immediately and continue his fast until the end of the day. The one who did not have time to eat anything, let him keep his fast until the end.. As we see from this hadeeth, even if the fasting person did not get up for Suhoor for some reason, he must make niet without eating and keep fasting.

5. Is the fast spoiled if one accidentally or intentionally swallows saliva?

If a person holding a fast swallows saliva, his fast is not broken. In addition, fasting is not considered broken even if a person swallows snot-like masses from the nose.

6. If you kiss someone on the cheek while fasting, will it ruin the fast?

A kiss on the cheek of a fasting person does not spoil his fast. Because, according to the testimony of the mother of all the faithful, Aisha, the Prophet (s.g.s.), while fasting, kissed his wives.

The following should be especially noted: if the kisser of his wife is sure that during the kiss there will be no ejaculation, and the kiss will not entail sexual intimacy, then kissing is allowed. If there is no such confidence, then this action is from the category of makruh.

7. Is fasting accepted by a person who does not pray?

If a person who does not read namaz fasts in the Holy month of Ramadan, he receives a reward (sawab) for his fast. However, at the same time, he will wallow in sin for not performing prayer. Because namaz (prayer) is a hallmark of Muslims. The Prophet said the following about this: “Indeed, the sign that separates the mushriks (disbelievers) and Muslims is prayer”. Therefore, it is advisable not only to fast, but also to start worshiping the Almighty through namaz (prayer).

8. Is it permissible for someone who has a hard job not to fast?

Fasting itself is a difficult test for us. After all, the essence of fasting in Ramadan is to curb your nafs, to educate yourself by abstaining from food and drink, to be able to subdue your instincts to reason, not being led by gluttony for the sake of Allah. Therefore, if a short-term refusal to eat and drink does not entail the danger of death or does not cause great harm to health, or does not lead to the fact that the fasting person may lose consciousness, then due to minor inconveniences, abandon the intention to fast and thereby violate the order of the Almighty is wrong. In one of the hadiths, the Almighty says: « Hman does his deeds for himself. But fasting in Ramadan is a different matter. Only I give him a reward. Because for the sake of My pleasure, he refuses food and drink. A fasting person has two joys: the first is at the time of breaking the fast, and the second at the moment of meeting with the Almighty. The smell from the mouth of a fasting person is dearer to Me than the smell of a bowl (incense).

9. How is the breaking of the fast for passengers flying in an airplane determined?

A person making a flight during fasting determines the time of breaking the fast not according to the table, but is guided by the sunset. For example, if the table indicates the time as the beginning of breaking the fast, and the sun is still at its zenith, then the fasting person watches the sunset and breaks his fast only after it has set. The table is intended only for fasting under normal conditions, on earth. Because the Holy Quran says that the time to stop eating and start breaking the fast is determined by sunrise and sunset.

11. Is it possible to receive intravenous drip solutions during Ramadan fasting?

Sometimes people who, for various reasons, are unable to eat in the usual way, are given intravenous injections to maintain their strength. Therefore, scientists believe that such procedures (receiving intravenous injections or droppers) break the fast, while other medicines received intravenously do not break the fast. That is, it can be summarized that receiving a dropper for medical purposes, that is, for treatment, does not violate fasting. However, it is impossible to receive injections to restore strength to a fasting person before breaking the fast.

12. Does chewing gum break the fast?

From the taste of fresh chewing gum, a sweet liquid appears in the mouth, which enters the stomach, and, accordingly, breaks the fast. Considering that chewing gum belongs to the category of food products, it will be necessary to make up for kafarah for its use during fasting, Allah alam. two months continuously. If we talk about the use of chewing gum, in which the taste has already been lost, then this is makruh (undesirable action).

If you want to use chewing gum to get rid of bad breath, we advise you to resort to other methods. In particular, miswak or toothpaste can be used instead of chewing gum. You just need to make sure that you do not swallow the foam from the toothpaste. If by accident the foam got into your stomach, then you will have to make up the post only for that day. Kafarat (replenishment) is not needed, because toothpaste is not a food product.

13. Is fasting violated? ri injections?

Answering this question, here is the definition of Imam Yusuf and Imam Muhammad (r.a): “If deep wounds on the head and body are treated with liquids, then fasting is not violated. Because the drug is not introduced into the body naturally and its entry into the stomach is doubtful. Saying this, they noted that if any substance gets inside in an unusual way (that is, not through the mouth, nose, ear, rectum, female organs), then the fast is not violated. Therefore, given that the medicine in injections does not enter the body through natural routes, it is said that the injections do not break the fast.

14. Is fasting broken when a tooth is removed?

If a fasting person removes a tooth, his fast is not broken. It is necessary to ensure that blood from the wound at the site of the extracted tooth does not get inside. If a fasting person inadvertently swallows blood from a wound, then he must subsequently make up for the fast for that day. Given that the medicine in the injection administered during tooth extraction also enters the body in an unnatural way, that is, bypassing natural routes, modern scientists believe that this does not violate the fast. (But if you swallow the medicine is broken).

15. Is fasting broken during an enema?

An enema is the introduction through the anus (rectum) of water or a medicinal liquid. The stomach is connected to the large intestine through the small intestine, the scholars of the Hanafi and other three madhhabs are of the opinion that the medicine introduced through the anus breaks the fast. For a fast broken in this way, the believer subsequently makes up for one day. In such cases, kaffarat replenishment is not necessary. .

16. Is fasting broken when donating blood?

It is not forbidden to donate blood during fasting, this action does not violate fasting. Because the respected Prophet (s.g.s.) did the hijama while fasting. In a hadith narrated by Sahih Bukhari, Sahaba Abdullah ibn Abbas (r.a.) says: “The Messenger of Allah (s.g.s.), while fasting, did hijama”,.

However, if the fasting person realizes that after the blood donation procedure he will become weak and it will become difficult for him to fast, then donating blood is considered makruh (undesirable). Someone asked Sahab Anas ibn Malik about this: Do you allow the hijama to be worn by a fasting person? To which the Sahaba replied: "If this leads to weakening, then we do not allow".

17. How to be a sick person in fasting Ramadan?

Allah Ta'ala obliges his slave to perform actions that he can do. Because the Gracious Creator wants relief for us, not hardships. That is why the Almighty, by his mercy, allowed sick people not to fast.

The Holy Quran says: “And when one of you enters the month of Ramadan, let him spend those days fasting. And if anyone is sick or on a journey, then let him fast for the same number of days on other days. Allah desires ease for you, not hardship." Another verse says: "Don't get yourself in danger."

Based on these and other verses, the scholars concluded:

“Sometimes not fasting a sick person is wajib (obligatory), sometimes mubah (allowed). If fasting for a sick person is fraught and can lead to death, then it is a wajib (duty) for him not to fast. If fasting can provoke the development of the disease or slow down the recovery, then it is allowed for him not to fast.(but you can also fast)» .

Thus, if you are sick and unable to fast, then fasting will not be fard (mandatory) for you. But you will have to make up the days of fasting after your recovery. This is not kaffyarat (replenishing the fast without a break), therefore it is allowed to keep these fasts interrupted. If health does not allow at all to make up the days of fasting, then for each day you must pay fidia.

In case of impossibility to pay the fidya, Allah Almighty, Forgiving. He does not oblige his slave to do what he cannot do.

18. Does the use of drops in the nose, in the eyes break the fast?

Drops in the eyes do not get inside, and therefore cannot break the fast.

If we talk about nasal drops, we must take into account that the structure of the nose is connected with the esophagus, and therefore it is likely that the drops will get inside. For this reason, there are rumors to believe that drops in the nose break the fast.

In addition, the respected Prophet (S.G.S.) said: “During ablution, draw in the water with your nostrils more strongly. But don't do that in Ramadan”, warning that water can enter through the nose further into the inside.

It is advisable to leave drops in the nose during the fasting period for the time of the evening conversation. Considering that nose drops (especially in summer) are mainly used by people suffering from allergic diseases, it is necessary to consider the issue of replacing drops with injections during fasting.

19. Is it possible to wash in the bath during fasting?

Considering that the bath is a place where people wash themselves using steam, it is advisable to postpone visiting the bath until the time of breaking the fast. Because the steam in the bath is made up of water molecules, that is, the steam contains water particles. Through the inhalation of steam in large quantities, a certain amount of water enters the body. Therefore, there is reason to say that your fast will be violated.

However, a fasting person can take a bath or shower. It is only necessary to ensure that water does not get inside through the mouth or nose. The truth is known only to Allah!

In Sharia, a sick person who has no hope of recovery, as well as old people (those who are not able to make up for the missed days of fasting) must feed the needy for each day of fasting. This is called "phidia". Phidias can also be given in money. It is enough to feed one poor person in the morning and in the evening for thirty days, or sixty needy ones to be treated once in the morning or in the evening. We were created for worship, and fasting is one of the worships, and secondly, Allah Himself rewards fasting.

In the Qur'an, you have probably seen many verses where it is said that Allah knows what is in our thoughts, what is our intention. And the angels cannot know this, they are fixers, they record our deeds, and the Almighty will make the calculation. That is why there is an opinion that angels cannot know the reward for fasting, because they do not know whether this person fasted or not, everything is clear with prayer, when a person prays, it is clear, but fasting, how to define it? It is worth paying attention to the saying of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, in which he said: “Every good deed of the son of Adam will be multiplied, and the smallest reward for a good deed will be rewarded tenfold, but can increase up to seven hundred times.”

Allah Almighty said: “Except for fasting, for verily, fasting is done for My sake, and I will repay it, since a person refuses to satisfy his desires and food for My sake!”, This inspires hope for a truly great reward.

Along with the above, fasting is a cleansing from committed sins. So, the Messenger of Allah said: “Whoever prays at night during Ramadan with faith and hope for a reward from Allah, his previous sins will be forgiven,” and, importantly, this is good for health. Speaking of this, the Messenger of Allah said: “Fast, you will be healthy!”

Ramadan is a kind of catalyst, good deeds done this month have a much greater degree of reward than they do on other ordinary days. Therefore, most of the Muslims try to pray more during the month of Ramadan, give alms, pay zakats, and the wealthy go on Umrah (small pilgrimage). Good deeds done during Ramadan are more rewarded.

fasting time

Fasting is observed from dawn to sunset throughout. You can eat before the morning adhan. But given that the correct time with dawn relatively sets according to what is written in the calendars, eating should be stopped 30 minutes before sunrise, in order to protect yourself from not spoiling the mind.

The basis of fasting is to fulfill three main points:

Do not eat

Not to drink

Do not have sexual intercourse

Moreover, all three fundamentals must be performed from dawn to sunset.

These points relate to part to the outward manifestation of fasting, however, one should not miss the part that is not visible to others, but also important for execution in order for the uraza to be correct.

It must be taken into account that during fasting one cannot swear, be hostile, idle talk and waste time on things that are useless from the point of view of Sharia.

Knowing the basics of uraza, you can answer most of the questions that arise on the topic of fasting in the month of Ramadan. However, some issues require some explanation, which will be discussed in this article.

What spoils the post

Fasting violations are divided into two groups:

1. That which breaks the fast and requires its completion (qaza is the completion of the fast by one day in one day) and expiation (kafara is the obligatory observance of continuous fasting for 60 days for one day of the broken fast. Who is not able to expiate the fast by due to illness, infirmity, is obliged to feed 60 poor people for one day of broken fasting).

1) Eating intentionally without any good reason;

2) Intentionally committed sexual intercourse.

2. That which breaks the fast and requires only replenishment:

1) Taking food or medicine due to illness;

2) Eating by mistake, that is, if you ate or drank after dawn, assuming that the dawn had not yet come, or took food in the afternoon, thinking that the sun had already set, but it turned out that it had not set yet. An example can also be given when a person mistakenly swallowed water while performing ablution;

3) Intentional vomiting;

4) Intentionally eating an object that is not ordinary food, such as dough, tree resin or chewing gum;

5) The appearance of menstruation;

6) Ejaculation during love games.

What does not spoil the fast in the month of Ramadan

1. Bathing. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, advised "to pour water during fasting due to heat or thirst" (Reported by Ahmad, Malik and Abu Dawood). If water is involuntarily swallowed, then this does not break the fast.

2. Use of antimony. Anas narrated that the Prophet used to use antimony during fasting.

3. Kissing your wife or husband while maintaining control over yourself. Aisha narrated that the Prophet used to kiss and touch her while fasting.

5. Swallowing something that cannot be avoided (like your own saliva or street dust, etc.)

6. Tasting food when buying (or cooking) with the tip of the tongue.

7. Smell flowers or use perfume, etc.

9. You can continue your fast even when you are in Junub (Junub is a state of defilement, after sexual intercourse and before bathing). Also, a woman after the end of menstruation or the postpartum period may begin to fast if the bleeding stops at night (at any time before sunset). In all of the above cases, bathing can be postponed until the next morning, and the fast will be valid.

10. One who forgets that he is fasting and starts eating or drinking. Most scholars said that in this case, fasting is not spoiled and is valid. The argument is the words of Allah Almighty "O our Lord do not charge us if we have forgotten or made a mistake."

11. Involuntary vomiting. The Prophet said: “If anyone vomits involuntarily, his fast is not broken and he does not have to make up (this day). But if anyone deliberately causes himself to vomit, then he must make up (this day). (Reported by Ahmed, Abu Dawood, At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah). In any case, the Muslim must fast for the rest of the day after vomiting.

When can I make up the missed days of fasting in the month of Ramadan?

There are no special provisions in Islam that relate to special days for compensating for fasting. But it should be noted that the best solution is to make up the missed days as soon as possible at the best time for the missed days. For example, if a person missed the month of Ramadan due to illness, then it is best for him, due to the nature of the illness, to compensate for the days in the winter, when it is not difficult for a person to fast. If a person cannot fast even in winter, then in this case he needs to feed the poor for each missed day.

Allah Almighty says in the Qur'an: "And if anyone is sick or on a journey, then let him fast for the same number of days at another time" Qur'an, Surah "Baqara", 185 ayat. Disabled, old and sick people who are not expected to recover and improve their condition, such as those with asthma, diabetes, are allowed to replace fasting with feeding the poor (in accordance with feeding one poor person for one day of missed fasting). The concept of "feed" in Muslim law means either in the morning or in the evening.

Marriage in the month of Ramadan

You can get married in the month of Ramadan, however, during daylight hours you can not arrange a feast and have sexual intimacy with newlyweds. There are no prohibitions on making nikah between two ghats either.

Ramadan and pregnancy

A woman can hold an uraza during pregnancy. But if the uraza causes malaise, impotence or malnutrition to the child, and also the nursing woman has a fear of losing milk or strength, then in this case they are allowed not to fast on the basis of the rule of Islamic law: “On the inadmissibility of causing harm and grave consequences.” But they must make up the fast after the birth of the child, as well as feeding him - day after day of the missed fast. It should also be noted that it is not necessary to follow the sequence in completing the post. This is evidenced by the words of Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him: “You can not take into account the sequence in making up the fast, as Allah Almighty says in the Qur'an “And if someone is sick or is on the way, then let him fast for the same number of days at another time” ( that is, Allah did not indicate that it is necessary to observe the sequence of missed days for the reasons indicated.You can, first fast one day, and after a week - another missed day of the month of Ramadan). Qur'an, Surah Bakara, verse 185. The same applies to a woman who did not fast for several years due to successive births and feedings. Ibrahim An-Nakhgi said: “Even if the second Ramadan comes, then it is necessary to keep both fasts (mandatory and replenished), and you cannot replace fasting with feeding the poor. Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, said: “It happened that I could make up the fast only in the month of Shagban.” Completing the Fast, Sahih Bukhari, Hadith No. 1849, Sahih Ibn Hibban, Hadith No. 3516.

The position of pregnant and lactating women is equated to the position of a traveler and a sick person (temporary permission to interrupt the fast due to difficulty), therefore they should definitely make up the fast whenever it is and cannot replace the fast by feeding the poor, like a traveler.

Intimate relationships in the month of Ramadan

If you have read about the basics of fasting, then the ban, as you understand, on sexual intimacy applies to the daylight hours of the month of Ramadan. At night, spouses are allowed to have intimacy without restrictions, but within the limits permitted by Sharia.

Get pregnant in Ramadan

There are no prohibitions on pregnancy (offensive this month) in Islam. On the contrary, some couples who failed to conceive in normal months got pregnant in that month. This can be connected with diligent worship in the month of Ramadan and asking for forgiveness for sins.

Pollution in Ramadan

Ejaculation that occurred in a dream does not spoil the fast, even if it happened in the daytime.

Menses in Ramadan

A woman during menstruation cannot fast - it is forbidden. Although there are methods to delay the onset of menstruation by taking pills. This option is possible, although it is worth leaving everything as it is, because in this case, without even fasting, the woman fulfills the command of the Almighty, for which she will receive a reward.

Smoking in Ramadan

Smoking breaks the fast, and this action is not befitting a Muslim. If earlier it was possible to say that smoking cannot be regarded as haram, now, when it is written on cigarette packs that smoking kills or causes cancer, it can be said with certainty that smoking is haram. Since it causes damage to health, up to a lethal outcome.

Injections (injections) in Ramadan

Injections are divided in this case into vitamin injections and injections for other purposes, for example, painkillers. Injections with vitamins and glucose spoil the fast, but injections necessary to maintain normal life or painkillers are allowed and they do not spoil the fast.

Death before making up for a missed fast

If a person died before he had the opportunity to make up for the missed fast, then it is supposed to give fidia for him (especially if it was bequeathed by the deceased), or food, or the amount of money that the kazy established for a certain region.

What is undesirable to do while fasting?

1. It is not advisable to stay in water or a bath for a long time, as there is a possibility of water getting into the body;

2. Do not engage in love flirting (hugs and kisses);

3. Do not gargle;

4. Do not perform bloodletting, as this can weaken a person so much that he will have to break his fast;

5. Don't taste food.

6. Do not swallow your saliva, previously accumulated in your mouth

What is desirable to do while fasting?

Performing tarawih prayers collectively. It is performed after the obligatory night (Isha) prayer.

Observance of Suhoor (eating before dawn). Even if you do not feel like eating, it is best to drink at least a couple of sips of water. The Messenger of Allah said: “Eat before dawn, for at this time there is grace” (Bukhari);

Break your fast as quickly as possible. The Messenger of Allah said: “People will be in goodness as long as they hasten to break the fast” (Bukhari);

When breaking the fast, it is advisable to turn to Allah with a prayer. It is reported that Abdullah b. Amr said that the Messenger of Allah said: “The prayer of a fasting person, when he breaks his fast, is not rejected.”

Pray as much as possible and turn to Allah as often as possible;

Devote more time to reading and studying the Holy Qur'an. The Messenger of Allah recited the Qur'an most of all, especially in the month of Ramadan (Bukhari).

Thank Allah for the opportunity to fast during Ramadan.

On the eve of the month of Ramadan (Ramadan), it will be useful to recall some of the conditions of fasting (orudzha) so that Muslims and Muslim women spend this holy month in the best way by the will of Allah and He accepted our worship and rewarded us with His Grace and Generosity.

ABOUT WHAT BREAKS THE LAST

1. Deliberate eating
Allah Almighty said: “Eat and drink until you can tell the white thread of dawn from the black, and then fast until night.”(al-Baqarah 2:187).
Shaykh Ibn al-Qayyim said: “There is no disagreement that intentionally eating and drinking breaks the fast.” See Zadul-ma'ad 2/60.
The one who ate intentionally during the daylight hours of Ramadan committed a great sin, for which he needs to bring great repentance.
Most of the scholars (jumhur) also said that if a person deliberately swallowed food stuck between the teeth, then his fast becomes invalid. Imam Ibn Qudama said: “The situation of one who has food left between his teeth is divided into two types: If a very small piece of food was swallowed and it was not possible to spit it out, then the fast is not violated, because it is like saliva. Ibn al-Mundhir said that the scholars were unanimous in this. The second type is when there is a large piece of food left between the teeth that can be spit out. And if he swallows this piece deliberately, then his fast is violated according to the majority of scholars, since this is tantamount to food. See al-Mughni 3/260.
This also includes nutritional injections.
Smoking also breaks the fast, moreover, it is a violation of the fast with the help of the forbidden. See Fatawa Islamiya 2/183.

2. Copulation during the daylight hours of Ramadan
The hadeeth says: “Indeed, sexual intercourse breaks the fast.” See Sahih Ibn Khuzayma 3/242.
Anyone who intentionally had sexual intercourse in Ramadan during fasting so that the two genitals came together, and inserted the head into the genitals or anus, violated his fast. And it doesn't matter if there was ejaculation or not. Such a person must repent, continue fasting on this day, then make up for this day and make a heavy atonement. There is no disagreement among scholars regarding the fact that intercourse during the daylight hours of Ramadan breaks the fast. See “ad-Durarul-mudyya” 2/22.
The ban on copulation is lifted after sunset. Allah Almighty said: “It is permissible for you on the night of fasting to have intimacy with your wives. For your wives are a garment for you, and you are a garment for them” (al-Baqarah 2:187).

3. Intentionally inducing vomiting
It is reported from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “If vomiting has come involuntarily, then one should not compensate for fasting; if vomiting was deliberately caused, then fasting must be compensated. Ahmad 2/498, Abu Dawud 2380. Imam an-Nawawi, Sheikhul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and Sheikh al-Albani confirmed the authenticity of the hadeeth.
If a person caused vomiting intentionally, then he committed a sin, for which one should also repent.
Imam Ibn al-Mundhir said: “Scholars are unanimous that the one who caused vomiting intentionally broke his fast.” See al-Ijma' 47.

4. Menstruation and postpartum bleeding
If during fasting a woman has menstruation or postpartum hemorrhage, then she is obliged to break the fast, and there is no disagreement among scholars regarding the fact that it is forbidden to fast in such a state and that fasting is not valid. See Sahih Fiqhu Sunnah 2/105.
If a woman assumes that her period will come tomorrow, she should still keep her intention and continue fasting. She should not break her fast until her period begins.

Is it possible to take pills that prevent the onset of menstruation
When Ibn Umar was asked about a woman who wants to take medicine to stop her period, he replied that he did not see anything wrong with it. Abdur-Razzak 1219. Ibn Abi Najih also answered. Abdur-Razzak 1220.
However, if such pills are harmful to health, then you can not take them! And often after such drugs in women, the cycle of menstruation goes astray.

5. Intention to break the fast
Whoever has the intention to break the fast, then his fast becomes invalid, regardless of whether he ate or not, since "deeds are judged by intentions." See al-Muhalla 6/175, al-Mughni 3/25, al-Majmu’ 6/314.
However, there is no unanimous opinion of scientists on this issue. Other scholars said that if a person intended to break the fast during the day for a good reason, for example, he decided to go on a journey, but then changed his mind, then his fast is still valid. He is like a person who intended to say something during prayer, but did not.
However, in order to avoid mistakes and to get out of disagreements, one should make up the post later, because the intention, as Sheikh Abdur-Rahman as-Sa "di said, is the basis of any worship, which, if violated, violates worship!

6. Apostasy
There is no disagreement among scholars that apostasy breaks the fast, just like everything else. See al-Mughni 3/25.
Allah Almighty said: “You (Muhammad) and your predecessors have already been inspired:“ If you associate partners (with Allah), then your deeds will be in vain and you will certainly be one of the losers ”(az-Zumar 39: 65).

Exercise "giraffe" will help people get rid of the second chin. This exercise has a lot of positive aspects. Its implementation does not require special conditions - ...

A day of fasting that has been started and for some reason violated must be compensated. With regard to breaking the fast in the month of Ramadan, then, depending on the type of violation, it may be required at the same time "kada" (compensation) And kaffarat (redemption) or just a refund.

Lexical meaning of the Arabic word "kada" - doing something. In the terminology of the Sharia, this word, in addition to the lexical one, has the meaning of "reimbursement by someone of worship that was not performed at the time or started, but violated, such as prayer, hajj or fasting, carried out at another time" .

The lexical meaning of the word "kaffarat" is "shelter, erasure". In Sharia terminology, this word means a certain set of actions established by Almighty Allah, which a person resorts to in order to earn Allah's forgiveness for some committed sins and mistakes.

Kaffarat (redemption) for fasting in Ramadan is required if a person, without any good reason, knowingly and of his own free will, violated the fast he had begun. In case of violation of other fasts outside the month of Ramadan, kaffarat is not required.

Kaffarat (redemption) for fasting is freeing a slave, or observing an uninterrupted fast for two lunar months, or feeding sixty poor people. But instead of food, you can pay its cost. Along with kafarat, it is also necessary to repent and have a firm intention not to commit such a sin in the future.

The sixty-day fast observed as kaffarat must be observed continuously, therefore, if even one day is missed, this fast must be started over.

For several days of fasting, violated in one Ramadan or violated in different years, one atonement is enough.

Now, after we have familiarized ourselves with the meaning of the concepts of “kada” and “kaffarat”, let's move on to considering what violates and what does not violate the fast. Actions that break the fast will be discussed in two sections:

first- these are actions for the commission of which compensation and expiation are required;

second These are actions for which only compensation is required.

1. Actions requiring "qada" (compensation) and "kaffarat" (expiation):

It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “Whoever breaks the fast of the month of Ramadan without a good reason established by Allah will not be able to compensate him, even if he spends the whole year in fasting” (Abu Daud, Siyam, 38).

Actions included in this category can be divided into two groups:

a) Intimacy

Entering into an intimate relationship during fasting requires both parties to compensate and atone. On this occasion, the following hadith is transmitted from Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu):

“Once we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah, when suddenly a man came up to us and said:

O Messenger of Allah! I'm dead!

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him!) asked:

What's happened?

I entered into an intimate relationship with my wife during fasting, he replied. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him!) asked:

- Can you fast for two months in a row?

No, the man replied.

Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him!) asked:

- Can you feed sixty poor people?

The man replied again:

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him!) did not answer him. Some time passed, we discussed the incident, when suddenly the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him!) came out with a basket full of dates, and asked:

Where is the person who asked me?

The man said:

I'm here.

Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him!) said to him:

“Take this and distribute it like sadaqah.”

In response, the man said:

O Messenger of Allah! Is there anyone poorer than me? By Allah, there is no poorer family in the valley of Medina than mine.

In response to this, the Messenger of Allah laughed so that his teeth became visible, and then said:

Then take the dates and treat them to your family.

(Bukhari, Saum, 30; Hiba, 20; Nafaqa, 13; Kaffarat, 2-4; Muslim, Siyam, 81; Abu Dawud, Tahara, 123; Saum, 37; Tirmizi, Saum, 23).

All madhhabs are unanimous that intimacy breaks the fast and requires both reparation and expiation. This hadeeth serves as evidence for all. In the matter of kaffarat, there is no other evidence other than this hadeeth.

b) Eating food or anything related to it.

The concept of "food" includes all types of food, both ready-to-eat and raw; all types of raw or dried meat and meat products; all kinds of vegetables and fruits, as well as cereals, and those products that are obtained by processing them.

According to the Hanafi madhhab, a person who breaks his fast by eating or drinking is similar to the person who breaks his fast by having an intimate relationship.

2. Actions requiring only "kada" (reimbursement).

The following actions break the fast, while requiring only restitution and not requiring atonement:

  • Eating or drinking by mistake.
  • Conscious swallowing of paper, cotton and the like. Swallowing these items, although it has an external resemblance to eating, does not have the goal of saturation, therefore, in this situation, kaffarat is not required.
  • Swallowing water when rinsing the nose, or medicine placed in the hollow of a tooth.
  • Swallowing large particles of food left between the teeth (large is considered a particle the size of a pea).
  • Swallowing something the size of a grain of wheat that has entered the mouth from the outside.
  • Eating in the morning, assuming that the time of sahure has not yet passed, or in the evening, believing that the time for iftar has already come. In this case, we are talking about eating by mistake.
  • Violation of fasting under duress.

The ninth month of the Muslim calendar, Ramadan, is one of the four holy months of the year. Men and women at this time hold a strict fast of Uraz, which is one of the main pillars of Islam. The main specificity of this fasting is that the quantitative composition of food is not regulated - everything is allowed to eat, and only the time of eating plays an important role. Let's figure out how to properly hold Uraza for a woman so that long-term abstinence benefits the body. After all, in addition to spiritual purification, Muslims fast to improve the body.

Why keep Uraza in the month of Ramadan

Fasting in Uraza contributes to the expiation of sins that were committed during the year. Ramadan is 30 or 29 days (depending on the lunar month) of strict fasting. During this period, Muslims should set aside time for donations, almsgiving, reflection, contemplation and all sorts of good deeds. However, the main task of every believer is not to drink water and not eat food from dawn to dusk. Unlike the Orthodox fast (Assumption or Great), in which it is forbidden to eat meat, fish, eggs and dairy products, during Uraza it is allowed to eat any food in moderation.

The main activity of Muslims in Ramadan is prayer. Before sunrise, each believer makes a niyat (intention) to observe Uraza, and then eats 30 minutes before dawn and prays. Namaz during the holy month are held in mosques, where Muslims come with their children or at home with relatives and neighbors. If a believer in the month of Ramadan is in other latitudes, then, according to the Hanafi madhhab (teaching), he reads the obligatory morning prayer according to Meccan time.

How to hold Uraza for a woman

During Uraza, Muslim women, like men, are prohibited from intimate life during daylight hours, and some especially believers prefer complete abstinence from sexual contact throughout the entire thirty-day fast. Traditionally, after sunset, believers gather in large families to eat dishes after a day's fast. Women prepare meals during the daytime, so they are allowed to taste the food while it is being prepared. Men are strictly forbidden.

How to eat properly

In the first days of Ramadan, you have to starve for about 20 hours, so imams (Muslim priests) advise eating foods with a lot of fiber: oats, millet, barley, lentils, unpolished rice, wholemeal flour, millet, legumes. The morning menu of a Muslim woman must necessarily consist of fruits, berries, vegetables, meat, fish, bread and dairy products.

It is better not to complicate your Ramadan menu with culinary delights, but to give preference to light salads seasoned with yogurt or vegetable oil. Such food does not irritate the stomach, improving digestion. To make fasting easier, broths made from lean beef, chicken, lean fish, or vegetables are helpful. In Ramadan, women should refrain from fried foods, completely replacing them with steamed or stewed foods. In the process of cooking, you need to dose the following products that stimulate the production of hydrochloric acid, which irritates the walls of the stomach:

  • spices;
  • garlic;
  • caraway;
  • cilantro;
  • mustard.

For dinner, Muslims are advised to cook low-calorie meals and not get too carried away with meat. During the day during Uraza it is forbidden to drink water, but after sunset it is advisable to drink from 2 to 3 liters of water to replenish the water balance. Nutritionists, while observing Uraza, urge to exclude carbonated drinks, replacing them with natural juices, mineral water, herbal teas.

Prayer

The obligatory prayer for all Muslims who hold Uraza is the Tarawih prayer. Its time comes after the night prayer of Isha and ends shortly before the appearance of dawn. Namaz Tarawih is better to read together with other believers, but if this is not possible, then it is permissible to read the prayer individually. In general, Islam is a religion that welcomed the attendance of collective prayers, and the mosque promotes communication when joint prayers are performed that praise Allah and the Prophet Muhammad while reading the Koran.

What not to do - prohibitions

Prohibitions during the period of Uraza are divided into strict and undesirable. Strict prohibitions are classified as actions that break the fast, and require mandatory compensation for one day of Ramadan 60 days of continuous fasting at any other time. These include: intentional eating, vomiting, and sexual intercourse. Also, during Uraza, you can not take potions, capsules, tablets, make injections, drink alcohol and smoke. Undesirable actions in Ramadan that require only replenishment (1 day of fasting for one violation) include:

  1. Eating out of forgetfulness.
  2. Involuntary vomiting.
  3. Swallowing something that is not medicine or food.
  4. Touching the husband, kissing that does not lead to sexual intercourse.

At what age do girls start fasting?

The girl begins to keep the post from her adulthood. A Muslim child reaches puberty when he reaches 15 years of age. Girls are allowed to fast even earlier if menstruation has come or if they have their own desire. If all of the above signs are absent, then according to Muslim customs, the girl should not fast.

It is difficult now to overestimate the importance of a 30-day fast for human health. Even science has proven that when starving, the human body is cleansed of excess weight, salts, bile, under-oxidized metabolic products, breathing normalizes. The experience of centuries shows that Uraza is the most effective method to get rid of various chronic diseases: allergies, gallstones, osteochondrosis and migraine. During fasting, defense mechanisms are increased, the immune system is stimulated, and the aging process is delayed.

Beginners need to know that all sorts of excesses are excluded this month, and there are special rules for eating and drinking. Immediately after sunset, the fasting person eats only light food, and a couple of hours before dawn - solid food. Such food is considered pleasing to God, therefore it serves the forgiveness of sins. At the evening meal, it is desirable that a mullah or a person who knows the Koran well be present, he will read suras and talk about the deeds of the Lord. Secular conversations are not prohibited during the evening conversation.

Can pregnant and lactating women fast?

Women in the postpartum period or during menstruation do not observe Uraza - this is confirmed by the relevant Sunnahs. As for pregnant and lactating mothers, they can completely or selectively refuse fasting at their discretion, especially if they are afraid for their or their child's health. As for making up for the missed fast, the woman makes such a decision on her own.

Without full ablution

Sometimes, for some independent reason, a woman does not have a full ablution, and fasting has already begun. For example, menstruation ended at night, or marital intimacy took place, or spouses overslept the morning meal. This should not bother a woman in any way, because complete ablution and observance of Uraza are in no way interconnected with each other. Ritual purity is needed only for prayer.

When do menses come

According to the rules of Islam, during menstruation, Uraza must be interrupted in any case, regardless of marital status and age. Prayer prayers are not performed either, since a woman does not have ritual purity. According to the rules, the missed days of fasting at the end of Ramadan must be made up one by one in a row or in a breakdown at the discretion of the Muslim woman. But the woman does not make up for the missed prayers.

What to do if it's hard to keep Uraza in the heat

When the month of Ramadan falls in the summer heat, it is very difficult for Muslims to keep Uraza, because thirst increases on hot days, and refusal of water can negatively affect human health. Moreover, during a 30-day fast, it is forbidden not only to drink, but even to rinse your mouth, because drops of water can get into the stomach. In this case, Islam gives some relief for pregnant women, children, travelers, the elderly and seriously ill people.

Fasting one day or intermittently every other day

If a Muslim woman has serious illnesses, for example, diabetes mellitus, pancreatitis and others, then she can keep Uraza not every day, but every other day. Fasting is not so much abstinence from food and water, but the promotion of spiritual growth, the purification of thoughts. But if a woman can keep Uraza with such diseases, then she should eat fresh raw vegetables, fruits, nuts, do not overeat, do not attack food at the Uraz-Bayram holiday, when Ramadan ends.

Video

When a woman holds Uraza for the first time, long before the onset of Ramadan, she needs to set herself up for the fact that this is not a hunger strike, but a great joyful holiday, so that there is a feeling of a fun event. It should be remembered that the fasting person receives a reward, which in Ramadan multiplies all the good deeds of a person. And for violating Uraza without a good reason, a Muslim woman will have to pay a certain amount to the needy and make up for the missed day with any day of fasting. See in the video tips for women starting to hold Uraza:

Fasting for Muslim women and men in 2019

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim calendar, the date of which changes every year. In 2019, Muslims begin to hold it on May 16, and on June 15, Muslim men and women around the world celebrate the greatest holiday of Eid al-Fitr. On this day, they give alms, remember relatives and friends, visit the graves of deceased relatives.

Schedule

The time of the predawn meal (suhoor) ends before the onset of the morning prayer (Fajr) 10 minutes in advance. At the end of the evening prayer (Maghrib), one should break the fast, preferably with water and dates, after pronouncing an appeal to Allah. The night prayer is Isha, after which 20 rak'ahs (cycles) of Tarawih prayer are performed for men, followed by Witr prayer.
