- transparent clothing, from under which underwear is visible;
- neckline (meaning not a V-neckline on a sweater, but a wide and deep neckline, arched with push-up);
- shoes with a hidden platform, as well as shoes richly decorated with gold, silver and rhinestones;
- ultra miniskirts worn over bare feet (not leggings or very tight tights, which is fine when you're in the creative industry). A tight mini is never allowed at all. A-shaped, straight mini - you can, if you are wearing tight tights;
- tops that do not cover the belly (well, this is probably already obvious);
- fishnet tights (also obvious) and other provocative variations (we said that mesh is in fashion, but a very, very rare dress code will withstand it).
Step 2
We determine what is included in the strictest office dress code, to which many somehow unconsciously appeal:
- jacket,
- trousers (although even they are sometimes prohibited!),
- skirt slightly above or slightly below the knee,
- shirt, blouse (only white or blue, no pictures),
- pumps with medium heels,
- smooth, discreet bag.
It's all. Do you understand? Everything. There are no dresses, no fancy blouses, not even bags with logo prints. And even the color of the suit can be strictly defined. Blue or black. Everything. If you have such a dress code at work, then it is almost impossible to make a mistake. In the closet you will have 5 almost identical suits and 7 shirts. Remember that a tapered skirt often looks better than a straight skirt (although it is more difficult to walk in it), and tapered trousers are more graceful than straight ones. And don't wear boots with skirts.
Step 3
And this is where the fun begins. It turns out that 99% of office workers have a dress code, of course, not as strict as described in the paragraph above. You can also have a blouse, you can also have a skirt that is longer or shorter, you can have a dress, you can have a turtleneck, you can do without a jacket, you can have a print, and so on.
Then why, for heaven's sake, why is it considered that an ugly knitted tight-fitting dress with a belt (and even sleeveless) is decent and belongs to the office style, but a leather skirt is not? Why can't you wear a top with sequins under a tight white shirt, but you can decorate with a miniskirt with a flounce and a transparent blouse? All this is nonsense, of course. If you can come to the office in a blouse with ruffles, believe me, you can definitely wear loafers or even slip-ons instead of “classic women's shoes”.
Consider examples of what we mistake for "office style" or "business dress code": usually everything is so bad that the heart is even a little happy. Attention! Boots cannot be worn with tight skirts and dresses. Or it should be high boots that cover the loose skirt or hem. The hooves are out too!
Let's imagine another picture from the "eternal classics". A silk scarf on the head and gloves are wonderful ... It was. 50 years ago.
