The density of insulation for clothes. Insulation for winter clothes. Advantages and disadvantages of natural insulation

The approach of winter makes you think about your wardrobe, encourages you to check whether everything is ready for the season, whether there is the necessary outerwear. If it turns out that the old thing has already worn out enough and gone out of fashion, you will have to purchase a new one. For example, a winter coat. How to choose it correctly? What should be paid special attention to?

Everyone knows that the fabric itself does not heat up much, and in order for the coat to become more or less warm, you need to sew a heater into it. This is the most important part of winter clothing, despite the fact that no one sees it.

Insulation performs the main task - heats the body. More recently, no one could be frightened by the choice of insulation for the winter, but now a lot of foreign words have appeared on the labels that plunge the buyer into indecision and make it difficult to buy the right thing.

What types of insulation for winter clothes does the textile industry offer? Consider the advantages and disadvantages of each of them in more detail.

Insulation for clothes: types and characteristics

There are two types of heaters - organic, that is, natural and synthetic.

Natural heaters

fluff, which belongs to natural heaters, is the most popular, since its lightness and thermal insulation remain at a high level.

It is lightweight and retains heat at low temperatures, in addition, high-quality fluff lasts a very long time. In any downy clothing, the composition of the insulation contains a feather. This is necessary for the uniform distribution of fluff throughout the product.

Disadvantages: down insulation can cause allergies and therefore must undergo mandatory antibacterial treatment (which some companies neglect); the complexity of care (washing, drying) at home.

Batting- a half-woolen insulation, which in the middle to the end of the last century was used in the Soviet clothing industry when sewing overalls, and also as a heater for winter coats.

Currently, batting is less and less popular.
Disadvantages: high weight and relatively high water-retaining properties. Wool and fur very often used as a lining for winter clothes - a wonderful natural material, known for its high warming properties, as well as ease of care for it.

New Zealand Merino wool is rightfully considered one of the highest quality materials for the production of excellent wool insulation for children's winter clothes.

Disadvantages: high hygroscopicity and still considerable weight.

Synthetic insulation

Sintepon- is one of the most common synthetic insulation. It is made from polyester fibers bonded with adhesive, needle-punched or thermal methods. Light, warm, voluminous, cheap - at one time such a heater was at the peak of popularity.

However, as time has shown, the synthetic winterizer has a number of disadvantages: increased moisture permeability, air tightness, rapid deformation and fragility of the material - all this has led to the fact that the synthetic winterizer is used as a heater for the production of cheaper demi-season and winter clothes.

Hollofiber Hollow fiber (hollow fiber)- a non-woven fabric filled with synthetic fibers in the form of spirals, balls, springs, etc. It is this structure that makes the thing warm, since a lot of air is stored between the fibers.

By right it is considered a heater of the 21st century. Light, warm, moisture and shape resistant, hypoallergenic - it is an excellent material for the production of excellent insulation for winter clothes.

Varieties - polyfiber, thermofiber, fiberskin, fibertek, etc.

Thinsulate (Thinsulate) is one of the most expensive heaters. It is also called artificial down - it is just as light and warm. But unlike fluff, thinsulate cannot cause allergies and holds volume better without straying.

Fleece- made from polyethylene terephthalate fiber. Not only sweaters, sweatshirts, sweatshirts are sewn from it, but they are also used as a lining for a jacket or coat.

The main characteristic of fleece is the amazing lightness of the material with high warming performance.

Sherstipon (wattelin) refers to a mixed type of heaters. It consists of wool and polyester fibers in different proportions. The production technology of this insulation consists in passing the material through a carding machine, and then through a thermal oven to fix fluffy fibers.

The choice of insulation for a coat depends on the lifestyle and purpose of outerwear, as well as on the area of \u200b\u200bresidence. For warm city winters and office days, a padding lining may be enough. People who are fond of outdoor activities or work outdoors in winter should pick up outerwear on modern synthetic insulation.

Polyester is both a fabric and a man-made fiber, so confusion can arise. In everyday life, polyester is most often called the material for sewing products. In this sense, the difference between it and synthetic winterizer is significant, although one chemical fiber, polyester, is used for production. Polyester, in turn, is made from chemicals found in petroleum. It was invented as an alternative to natural materials.

To know how a synthetic winterizer differs from polyester is necessary in order to navigate well in the world of textile products. Polyester is a common name, and there are many varieties of polyester fabrics depending on their purpose. There are woven materials that are made on looms and are a canvas of interwoven threads. And there are non-woven, where the fibers are interconnected in various ways.

A synthetic winterizer is a non-woven material, which is a light, loose and airy fabric used as a heater in outerwear and a filler for various products. They are stuffed with toys, used for mattress toppers, in the production of upholstered furniture. Polyester fabric for sewing clothes and other textile products differs from synthetic winterizer in the production method, thickness and density, but their composition is the same.

The polyester used for sewing textiles is known for its durability and water repellency. In this regard, it is great for making outerwear. Things do not lose their shape for a long time, they tolerate washing well. They need to be ironed at the minimum or medium temperature of the iron. But ironing may not be required at all, since polyester clothes practically do not wrinkle. Some people may be allergic to natural wool.

The difference between polyester that it does not cause allergic reactions, but may not be very pleasant to the body. It is best not to wear this material in hot weather.

Polyester added to cotton or wool significantly improves the properties of fabrics. They hold their shape better, wrinkle less and do not shrink.

This material is actively used for sewing textile products such as curtains, bedspreads, upholstery fabric for furniture. In this regard, he has no equal. Products look great, they last a long time, do not fade in the sun and do not rub.

Affordable and common filler

Sintepon is a cheap and easy-to-manufacture material. Now there are many types similar to a synthetic winterizer with improved qualities. They have their own patented names - isosoft, holofiber, tinsulate, etc. The synthetic winterizer is not registered as a trademark, so it is produced by different manufacturers. The quality of the material can vary greatly. Therefore, when choosing clothes, you need to pay attention to the company, the quality of tailoring the product. At the same time, the label in the composition may simply indicate 100% polyester. This means that both the upper and the inside of the garment are made of polyester fibers.

Properties of a synthetic winterizer and care for things

In the production of the material, polyester fibers are joined together by a hot-melt or thermal method. This results in a voluminous and light filler. Its main property is thermal insulation ability. Products insulated with padding polyester can be worn up to -10-150 C 0.

Since this is a cheap material, it wears out quite quickly, loses its shape and its thermal insulation properties, the fibers can break through, worsening the appearance of the product.

Things on the padding polyester need to be properly looked after so that they serve longer. Gentle washing is allowed at a temperature of 300 C 0. Do not dry things near heating appliances and iron with high heat of the iron.

Thus, in its composition, synthetic winterizer and polyester are no different., since both are made from the same fibers. But their appearance, properties and purpose are different. The range of manufactured products is very wide - these are light summer clothes, tracksuits, insulated jackets, curtains, carpets, etc. Polyester fabric is used for sewing products, and synthetic winterizer is used for warming winter and demi-season items.

Fillers for children's winter clothes
The warmth (and comfort) of winter clothing is largely determined by its filler. Long gone are the days when parents had only faux fur coats or jackets on a heavy padding polyester to choose from.
Now, in the production of children's clothing, fillers of a new generation are used, and even a modern synthetic winterizer is "no match for its great-grandfather." In clothes with such fillers, the child will not only be warm, but also comfortable on winter walks during his games with friends. After all, thanks to unique developments, their structure allows you to better retain heat, which means that the desired temperature regime can be achieved using a thinner insulation, which makes products made from them lighter and thinner.
Let us consider in more detail the most common types of fillers for children's winter and demi-season clothing.

Sintepon
The synthetic winterizer has been used as a heater for children's clothing for a very long time, but during this time it has also undergone evolution. And although the modern synthetic winterizer, like its progenitor 15 years ago, is also made of polyester fibers bonded together thermally, otherwise they have little in common. A stern synthetic winterizer is dense, and a new one is hollow.
The old one was laid in parallel layers. Because of this, he had very low rates of heat conservation and moisture conductivity. Now such a synthetic winterizer (thick, adhesive) is used only in cheap products. In the new padding polyester, the fibers are not glued, but rather hold each other with silicone needles. Such insulation is more durable, does not lose its shape. And although it is quite light, it still continues to be inferior to modern heaters (isosoft, thinsulate, etc.).

Minuses:
- after exposure to sweat and washing, it loses up to half the thickness, and, as you understand, any children's product has to be washed quite often.
- with a decrease in consumer properties due to operation, the synthetic winterizer becomes not very suitable for a cold winter. With a loss of thickness, the lower limit of the temperature regime is reduced to -10 °. Therefore, it is better to buy overalls based on synthetic winterizer for demi-season.
The main advantages are low price and a large selection: Many modern companies now produce children's winter clothes on synthetic winterizer: domestic factories, as well as companies from China and Poland. Our manufacturers in most cases order tailoring in China.
Care: Wash at 30°C using only mild detergents that do not contain bleach; do not soak or bleach.

In Russia, the name lavsan is still known, which does not create the appearance of using any super technologies, and it is technically not so difficult to produce a fiber with cavities inside. Sometimes the synthetic winterizer is used not for warming, but for filling, so that the clothes do not look too thin and please the eyes of suspicious mothers.
The synthetic winterizer can have a density of 50 to 600 gr. per square meter, can be made using different technologies and be voluminous and not. In clothes, one layer of synthetic winterizer or several can be used. For example, for children's winter jackets, three layers of 100gr/sq.m. are often used, i.е. TOTAL: 300 gr./sq.m

And at what temperature are clothes with different thicknesses of synthetic winterizer designed?
100 gr - this is autumn / spring - from about 0 ... + 5 to + 15 ...;
250 gr is a demi-season - from +10 to -5 approximately.
300-350 - cold winter, up to about -25.

Insulation: isosoft

ISOSOFT (Isosoft) - a modern synthetic insulation with a thermally sealed surface, made from fibers in the form of balls. The balls do not communicate with each other and contain cavities, which is why the product on isosoft keeps its shape and heat well. The special microcellular structure does not allow cold air to penetrate inside, keeping warm. Isosoft clothing creates an ideal microclimate around the body, depending on the activity of the child and the weather. Possess high heat-shielding properties.

Soft as fluff, ISOSOFT (Isosoft) is two or more times warmer than conventional synthetic insulation, easily restores its shape after compression and does not lose it after numerous washes. And besides that, they are also very light.

In a product with such a heater, the baby will never freeze, and the slight thickness and extraordinary lightness will allow the child to move freely, which is decisive when compared with the same padding polyester.

The unique surface of the material allows you to combine isosoft insulation with different fabrics, reducing the wear time of the fabric.

Usually, in the description of children's outerwear on isosoft, the weight of the synthetic insulation in the product is indicated, for example: "isosoft 260 g / sq.m." What kind of weather are these indicators calculated for:
* 40-70 g/sq.m. – warm autumn-spring
* 100-150 g/sq.m. – cold autumn-spring, warm winter
* 200-300 g/sq.m. - frosty winter
Isosoft clothes are easy to care for: they are easy to wash in the washing machine and dry quickly., Recommendations for the care of products with ISOSOFT insulation (Isosoft)
- do not soak
- machine wash at 30 - 40 degrees
- Do not use chlorine-containing products.

Advantages of Isosoft insulation when compared with down:
does not cause allergies;
does not require mandatory dry cleaning;
easily erased;
dries quickly;
gives a feeling of comfort both at + 5°C and at - 20°C.

Advantages of Isosoft insulation when compared with synthetic winterizer:
much thinner (replaces 4 layers of synthetic winterizer);
easily restores its shape after storage in a folded form and retains it during long-term operation;
does not lose properties after numerous washes;
has the effect of a thermos (retains body heat).
Children's overalls on isosoft:
Kerry (Finland), Lenne (Finland). Made in the same factory. Fabric: Finalyson action (Active fabric), waterproof, stain resistant. Trousers in the back are stitched with a special tape. Reflectors, nickel-free press studs, detachable hood with fur trim, cuffs for arms and legs;
Gusti (Finland);
Tilson (Norway);
Naughty (Russia). Upper: 100% nylon, lining: polyester and cotton;
Reima (Finland);
Etty-Detti (Russia). Brand of the company "World of Childhood". Upper fabric: 100% polyamide, lining: jersey.
Manufacturers themselves most often simply indicate "100% polyester insulation" on the label.
Thinsulate
The unique ultra-light insulation of the new generation Thinsulate ™ ((from the English. thin - thin, insulation - warming) will protect your child from cold, rain and wind in our harsh Siberian climatic conditions.
Structure and properties
Thinsulate™ consists of microfibers identical to the finest down fibers. The idea of creating such material borders on art. Products insulated with Thinsulate™ provide comfort by trapping air molecules between the fibres. And the more air is in a certain volume, the higher the thermal insulation of the insulation.

So why is the property of Thinsulate™ insulation unique? The more insulation fibers are per unit volume, the more air the material is able to hold. Thinsulate insulation consists of unique microfibers, which are 50 to 70 times thinner than a human hair, their diameter is from 2 to 10 microns. Around each fiber is a layer of air. He will warm your baby, capturing the heat of his body. The thinner the fibers, the more heat-insulating layers in clothing. This makes Thinsulate™ insulation 2 times warmer than the warmest down. At the same time, it breathes well, does not dampen and is easily washed at home without losing its properties.

Thinsulate ™ insulation has become a synthetic substitute for natural fluff, without at the same time having its drawbacks: the ability to absorb moisture from the material is less than 1%. Thinsulate reliably retains heat and allows excess moisture to escape unhindered. This insulation does not restrict movement and provides complete comfort even in the most severe frosts.

Features of Thinsulate™ filler
Warmth without excess volume (light weight and small thickness of the Thinsulate™ filler makes it weightless and relatively bulky);
1.5-2 times warmer than natural fluff;
Higher breathability compared to down and feather products. The main thing in all heaters is the ability to retain air. The more bound air is retained per unit volume of insulation, the better it retains heat. For Thinsulate™ insulation, this value is almost 10 times greater than for other materials;
Greater thermal insulation effect than other polyester fillers of similar thickness and density;
Maintains the necessary moisture balance;
Environmentally friendly and hypoallergenic material;
Resistant to moisture, perfectly erased;
Due to the three-dimensional bonding of the fibers, it retains its unique properties and shape after many washes. Due to the high resistance to squeezing, it does not go astray and does not shrink the product after washing at 40 ° C (about 10% after repeated washings).;
Has the European environmental certificate Oeko-Tex Standard 100.

Care
Machine wash with spin at 40°.
Thinsulate insulation does not lose its properties after washing or dry cleaning, subject to the 3M care recommendations for the corresponding type of insulation. However, a different mode may be provided for the upper or lining fabric. Therefore, pay attention to the recommendations for care from the manufacturer of the entire product.

Clothes on tinsulate are sewn for athletes, oil workers, climbers. Tinusleite clothing (as well as its analogues - Hollofil (Hollofil), Quallowfill (Qualofil), and Polarguard (Polargvard)) is quite expensive. Permissible temperature regime for thinsulate: up to -30 °.
Children's clothes on tinsulate are produced by Ketch (Sweden), TALVI / Talvi (Russia).

Holofiber. The non-woven material of the Hollofiber trademark consists of hollow polyester fibers twisted in the form of springs. The structure of a holofiber is almost similar to the structure of a synthetic winterizer, however, in a synthetic winterizer, the fibers are not hollow, but filled. Due to the hollowness of the fibers, holofiber provides better thermal insulation and less caking. Holofiber provides beautiful shapes, the possibility of long-term operation, is environmentally friendly and non-toxic, does not absorb moisture and odors, and does not support combustion. This is achieved due to the spiral shape of the hair (a type of spiral spring), which allows the product to maintain its shape and easily restore it.

Synthetic heaters (Hollofiber, fiberskin, fibertec, polyfiber) are made from fibers in the form of balls, springs, etc. Balls, spirals or springs do not communicate with each other and contain cavities, so the product keeps its shape well. Clothing with holofiber or fibertec is not very expensive, it turns out the price / quality ratio: for a small price you buy a good overall that can withstand frosts down to -25 °. Thin fibers retain volume, do not absorb moisture, breathe. Manufacturers, most often, indicate in the instructions for the product: "insulation - 100% polyester" (very rarely specify which one: holofiber, fiberskin, fibertec, polyfiber or other).

Isosoft and holofiber: they have almost the same characteristics in terms of heat retention. But based on our personal experience, isosoft is better ...

It happens that manufacturers use a combination of different heaters or a combination of heaters and a membrane, this allows them to register the trade name of a “new” insulation. In terms of its properties, it will still differ little from the known ones. Care: machine wash at 40°.

holofan

It is an interweaving of spiral hollow fibers forming a strong springy structure. This allows the product to retain its shape for a long time and easily restore it. In terms of heat-shielding properties, HOLOFAN is as close as possible to natural down, but unlike down products, it is easy to wash, does not absorb moisture and odors, does not cause allergies, and is also able to retain the heat generated by our body, but not “evaporate” it during prolonged use .

Hollofan - a new generation of insulation!

Light! Keeps warm in cold weather

Does not cause allergies

Removes excess moisture

Maintains and quickly restores its volume during long-term use and repeated washings

Does not absorb odors and moisture

Less often, but still you can find Topsfil - an ultra-light high-tech modern insulation. Provides free air circulation, thanks to it the children's clothes "breathe".
Natural heaters:
Let's not forget to mention also natural heaters, which for many years served faithfully to man in his struggle with adverse natural conditions:
Down, a natural insulation with high thermal insulation properties. Down is the lower layer of bird plumage, which has a structure that retains heat (the down core is thin and short or not at all. Fluffs are spherical in shape). The structure of the down explains the lightness and insulating ability of this natural insulation. The main indicators of fluff: thermal insulation properties, air exchange, softness, weight, elasticity, durability. The main indicators that determine the popularity of down clothing are lightness and high ability to retain heat. The down with the highest of the above indicators is eider down. Eider down is the rarest and most expensive down.
But with all the advantages described, natural down has disadvantages in relation to children's clothing:
- Firstly, children suffering from allergies and respiratory diseases are not recommended to wear down clothes. Down is allergic.
- Secondly, down clothing is best worn in areas with a dry, frosty climate, but in non-frosty, wet winters, downy children's clothing can contribute to the greenhouse effect and the child may overheat.
- Thirdly, children's clothes with fluff are not practical. Children's clothes for children over 3 years of age get dirty very quickly and therefore have to be washed frequently. Down clothing does not like frequent washing, and after washing it dries for a long time.
Care of down products: in order for the product to retain its appearance for a longer time, it is necessary to resort to a complete wash of the product as rarely as possible (it is better to take it to dry cleaning). It is recommended to wash on a gentle cycle (without bleach) at a temperature of about 30°. Machine wash is also possible. After washing, it is necessary to dry and periodically “break lumps” with fluff, otherwise it will fall off. Products with fluff cannot be ironed.
Wool (sheepskin). Sheepskin is widely used in children's outerwear. Sheep wool has anti-stress properties, normalizes blood pressure, helps with diseases of the joints (which is why our grandmothers tied their wrists with woolen thread). High-quality wool is non-allergic, does not contain germs (bacteriological analysis of wool did not reveal any harmful microbes). Sheep wool also contains lanolin. Lanolin has anti-inflammatory (helps the healing of wounds and cracks), anti-edematous and anti-allergic effects. Therefore, sheepskin is not only comfortable, but also extremely useful for children. The most useful, warmest in terms of use in children's clothing is merino wool (Australia). Merino wool is very soft to the touch, perfectly retains heat, has the ability to absorb moisture and at the same time not become wet. This wool is the most comfortable for the child.
Of the minuses, it can be noted that the weight of clothes on sheepskin is quite large, which prevents the child from feeling comfortable and easy during active walks. Therefore, recently, sheepskin has been more used as a lining-waistcoat for winter jackets in the form of a “restored linen”: thick sheep pile on a knitted basis.
Sheepskin Care: Wash on a gentle cycle with a bleach-free detergent at 30°. Machine washable

Pros and cons of holofiber filler.

The cold weather has set in and most people have reached into the closets for down jackets and jackets. For many, winter is associated with large puffy jackets filled with goose down, as well as fur coats. But now a huge amount of clothes filled with holofiber has appeared on the market. In this article we will understand what kind of filler it is and its features.

This is a synthetic non-woven fiber of the polyester group. The structure is very similar to synthetic winterizer, but differs in the absence of the use of glue in production. The holofiber is based on a spiral silicone fiber, which is fastened by soldering at high temperature. The result is long fibers.

There are many positive properties of this material:

  • light weight
  • Excellent thermal conductivity and heat retention capacity
  • low price
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Doesn't absorb odors
  • Not electrified

There are no negative sides to this heater. Unless it is slightly inferior to a goose feather in terms of heat capacity.

Now there is a huge amount of outerwear with holofiber on the market. This is due to the low price. A down jacket costs one and a half times cheaper than a natural one. At the same time, it is not inferior in quality. Before answering about temperature standards, it is worth deciding on the density of the filler. The minimum operating temperature also depends on this figure.

Temperature standards:

  • Density 100 g/sq.m. — from +10°С to +5°С
  • Density 150 g/sq.m. — from +5°С to -10°С
  • Density 200 g/sq.m. — from -10°С to -20°С
  • Density 300 g/sq.m. – from -20°С to -30°С

In principle, the material is made from the same fiber, but using different technologies. The synthetic winterizer is a type of silicone fiber, like holofiber, but all the fibers in it are glued. In holofiber, the threads are interconnected by soldering at high temperature without the use of glue. There is a void inside the fibers, which makes the material light and very warm. Thus, holofiber is much lighter and warmer than synthetic winterizer.

A synthetic winterizer is not the best insulation, as it gets wet and accumulates moisture. At the same time, the material has a low thermal insulation index. It is an order of magnitude higher in holofiber.

Hollofiber competes with natural fluff. Products from it are the warmest. But fluff has one huge drawback - the price. In addition, fluff gets wet in rainy weather. There are also some difficulties when washing down jackets with natural feathers. Given all these indicators, then holofiber is an ideal option.

Women's winter coat, winter jacket, children's overalls, blanket, pillow, mattress: is it better on holofiber or synthetic winterizer?

Sintepon disadvantages:

  • Low thermal insulation ability
  • Accumulates moisture
  • Absorbs odors
  • Quite heavy

Accordingly, holofiber is devoid of these shortcomings. That is why this filler is better. Due to the special siliconization method, holofiber does not accumulate moisture, therefore it is successfully used for the production of blankets and pillows.

If there is a choice between holofiber and synthetic winterizer, when buying a children's overalls, then choose the first option.

Women's winter coat, winter jacket, children's overalls, blanket, pillow, mattress: is it better on holofiber or synthetic winterizer?

Yes, products from this filler can be safely washed in the machine. In this case, it is worth considering the features of the upper fabric. After all, holofiber can be washed even at a temperature of 80 ° C. But due to the fact that down jackets are dyed and made of raincoat fabrics, the optimal washing temperature is 40 ° C. At the same time, the products can be wrung out, because the holofiber is perfectly straightened after washing and wringing. It does not need to be shaken off like fluff.

You can wash not only down jackets, but also blankets, pillows and bedspreads with holofiber. It is these products that can get dirty. Only now there is no need to take them to dry cleaning. You can wash it yourself in the washing machine.

Hollofiber is an excellent filler that will serve as an excellent alternative to natural fluff. It's just as warm, but much cheaper.

The tunic is part of the daily and exit uniforms of police officers of the new model. Worn with trousers. Material: Suit (semi-woolen) fabric. Composition: 75% wool, 25% polyester 280 g/m2 Lining: Twill 100% viscose 105% g/m2. Fitted, single-breasted, four-button closure. Turn-down collar with lapels. Shelves with cutting barrels. Side pockets are horizontal welt in the "frame" with flaps. A back with the central seam in which lower part the vent is located. Sleeves are set-in, two-sutural. Jacket with lining. On the left shelf of the lining there is an inside pocket with a “leaflet”. Designed for employees of internal affairs bodies with special police ranks, as well as for cadets (listeners) of educational institutions of higher professional education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. It has red trim on the sleeves. According to the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia No. 575, chevrons are sewn onto the sleeves of the suit at a distance of 8 cm from the edge of the shoulder. A chevron is sewn on the left sleeve, indicating belonging to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, and on the right sleeve, a chevron, indicating the service of a police officer. You can add chevrons with Velcro. In addition, shoulder straps with buttons are sewn onto this tunic, and two lavalier emblems are also strengthened. How to sew on a shoulder strap? To do this, in addition to the tunic itself and shoulder straps, you will need a ruler, scissors, a needle, a thimble and strong red threads. Be sure to wear a thimble, even if you are used to sewing without it, as sometimes the needle passes through shoulder straps with great difficulty, and you can injure your fingers. If you find it difficult to pull the needle and thread out of the shoulder strap, then you can use pliers or tweezers. 1) First of all, prepare the shoulder strap, i.e. fasten all the required insignia on it, since it will be much more difficult to do this on an already sewn pursuit. 2) Take the shoulder strap and position it so that the side farthest from the button is close to the seam that connects the shoulder of the tunic to the sleeve. At the same time, the upper, directed towards the back, edge of the shoulder strap should go 1 cm from above to the seam running along the shoulder. In other words, the shoulder strap should be slightly shifted forward. 3) Thread the needle into the needle and fasten the shoulder strap to the tunic at three points: at the corners of the shoulder strap, at the place where it comes into contact with the sleeve seam and in the center of the semicircular cut. Now the shoulder strap will be securely fastened and will not move from the correct position during the sewing process. 4) Then we sew the shoulder strap very carefully around the perimeter, making stitches in such a way that only barely visible points remain on its surface in those places where the needle enters the shoulder strap, and the thread between two adjacent holes passes mainly from the wrong side (along the gasket) of the tunic . Then the thread will not be noticeable even if it does not quite match the color of the shoulder straps in color. In this case, the optimal length of each stitch should be about 1 cm. 5) With the second shoulder strap, follow the same pattern. How to strengthen lapel emblems? On the collar of the tunic - along the bisector (the line dividing the corner of the collar in half), at a distance of 25 mm from the corner of the collar to the center of the emblem, the vertical axis of symmetry of the emblem should be parallel to the flyaway of the collar. How to place awards on the police jacket? On the left side of the chest, the awards are arranged in the following order: Badges of special distinction are placed so that the upper edge of the medal block is at the level of the ledge of the lapel of the tunic and jacket. When wearing two or more insignia of special distinction, they are arranged separately in one row, from right to left with intervals of 10 mm between the lateral ends of the stars in the order listed.
