LESSON 2. MOMS

1. Appearance
In appearance, mothers resemble girls, only they are much larger. Their slender, strong legs end in high-heeled shoes or slippers. Mothers cleverly decorate nature, delighting us with their beautiful gaits and voices. In addition, they bring great benefits to the household. Mothers are well adapted to life at home, but sometimes they have to leave their familiar environment in order to get food for themselves and everyone around them.

2. Habitat
In addition to food, a mother needs a few more things for a normal life: water, electricity, a mirror, a washing machine, an iron. Water taps provide mom with the moisture she needs for her life, and light bulbs provide light so she can see what still needs to be washed. All this is called the external habitat. When a mother finds the conditions necessary for life in the external environment - air, warmth, soap - she lives well and reproduces normally. And if all this is missing, mom will die. Or he will go somewhere, taking you with him.

3. Transformation into a skeleton
Much in the behavior of mothers is still not clear. For some reason, all of them, regardless of age and the number of children hanging on them, really want to lose weight. Scientists cannot understand what makes mom strive to turn into a walking skeleton, because a thick layer of subcutaneous fat would perfectly protect her from severe frosts in winter.

4. Fight against nature
In the fall, mothers do not fly to the south; they even often spend their summer vacation with the whole family at some country dacha. Scientists have long come to the conclusion that mothers are environmental orderlies, since they cannot live a day without garbage and are always rushing around the apartment in search of it. Having found the garbage, mothers deftly remove it from under cabinets and sofas with a long broom and lovingly put it in a special bucket. They collect mothers and dust. 6. Going hunting

7. Shedding period
For children, mothers pose almost no danger. Except that sometimes they can send you to the nearest bakery. Or to the neighbors for salt. But it’s still better to stay away from your mothers. Of course, this happens to mom extremely rarely, but if she accidentally washed the white pillowcases along with the red T-shirt and everything faded, then mom’s mood also deteriorates, and you shouldn’t come across her at that hour.

8. Digestion
It's interesting to watch mom when she washes dishes or handles digestion. Usually mom's digestion happens in the kitchen. This is the place my mother liked the most. Here she has water bubbling, a fire burning, supplies and various ingenious devices like beaters, meat grinders and small pots with long handles, so as not to get burned, are stored.

9. Mystery of nature
An amazing mystery of nature is the ability of a mother to turn such useless things as raw chicken and unpeeled potatoes into an appetizing dinner. Scientists have yet to figure out how, out of a pile of white, tasteless flour and shattered eggs, mom manages to deftly make a sweet, colorful birthday cake with burning candles.

10. Main secret
But the main secret for modern science remains my mother’s unmistakable instinct, with which she was able, among the huge number of dads existing in nature, to find, catch and bring home not just any other dad, but your dad.

MOMS' HOLIDAY IN OUR LIBRARY

On March 6, 2014, on the eve of International Women's Day, the city children's library hosted guests - children from large families and their mothers. A holiday “March 8 with Baba Yaga” was organized for them. In fact, not only this fairy-tale grandmother came to meet the children, but also other heroines of Russian fairy tales - Vasilisa the Wise, the Mistress of the Copper Mountain, the forever young kind Sorceress. And each of them held their own competitions with the children: Baba Yaga tried to seat the children in her huge shovel, Vasilisa asked many wise riddles, and the Sorceress held a computer quiz about fairy-tale mothers. But the girls especially liked the jewelry box of the Mistress of the Copper Mountain, because they were allowed to try on fabulous jewelry and then praise themselves! At the end of the holiday, all participants received prizes from the city department of the Department of Labor and Social Development.

In 2017, for International Women’s Day, the children’s library hosted a whole range of events. In the reading room, librarians had pre-selected for the children a book exhibition of stories, poems, and fairy tales about mothers called “Spring Begins with a Holiday.” New interesting mosaics have appeared in the computer game library. The children were most interested in the Rainbow of Ideas magazines, in which they could look at various options for making a gift for March 8th. And the librarian offered a master class on making an unusual flower. The idea was supported by the guys from the social rehabilitation center, who were invited to the “Bouquet of the Tenderest Feelings” holiday. At the festival, they competed in games - relay races: “Let's help mom cook borscht,” “Words for mom,” “Collect a flower.” Each participant made a wonderful flower as a gift for their mother. In conclusion, the children watched a funny cartoon about Octopuses.
