Correct preparation of nails for manicure. Preparing nails for coating with gel polish: important points

Nail care includes not only painting with varnishes and applying various patterns, but also preliminary processing of hands. Not all women know how to prepare their nails for a manicure correctly. To do this, we have prepared interesting recommendations and tips, which are collected all in one place. They should become your reference book on manicure. But first things first.

Manicure tools

Did you know that manicure began to be done 5,000 years ago in Ancient Egypt. Then Pharaoh had many slaves who processed the hands of the sovereign every 9 days. They had special tools. Since then, they have undergone many modifications, and now, to help a woman, tools have been created that help to get a beautiful and well-groomed manicure at home.

And here they are:

  1. Tweezers... They are needed to remove the cuticle. They must be used with care, as the tool must be well sharpened. Cut the cuticle carefully, since it is at the base of the nail that the blood vessels are collected. The latest fashion trends dictate their own rules. Cutting the cuticle is no longer recommended, as there is a possibility of infection. For this, other means were invented, but first things first.
  2. Spatula... To cut the cuticle, you need to move it to the edge, and for this you just need a spatula. It is made of metal. You can replace the instrument with special orange sticks. They have one end sharpened, the other made in the form of a spatula. It does not need to be disinfected before use, as the wooden stick is disposed of after each use.
  3. Nail files. Every woman is familiar with this tool. Using files, we give our nails any shape we like and grind the nail plate.
  4. Helps remove old coating.
  5. Manicure scissors. They are used if you need to remove a sufficiently large length of the nail.

This list of tools should be in the arsenal of every woman. Without them, it is impossible to prepare nails for a manicure.

Technical moment

So, when all the tools are selected and disinfected, you can start processing the nails. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you:

  1. Put a paper towel on the table, spread the tools on it. Before the procedure, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and dry them.
  2. If there is old varnish on the nails, it must be removed. To do this, use a cotton swab and nail polish remover. Rub each nail thoroughly.
  3. The next important step is to adjust the length and shape of the nail plate.
  4. We remove the cuticle. This procedure will not take much of your time. To do this, smear the entire area at the base of the nail with olive or peach oil. Hold it for a couple of minutes. After the time has passed, treat the cuticle in the usual way.

Master Natalya tells about how to properly push back the cuticle in the next video:

And now you can proceed to the most pleasant procedures.

Nourishing and healing baths

Water treatments help relax your hands, moisturize your skin and leave it neat and well-groomed. Baths can be done in several simple ways:

  1. With sea salt. Don't make the water too hot. Room temperature is acceptable. Add a couple tablespoons of salt and dip your hands in the bath. For the entire procedure, you can allocate 10 minutes of time.
  2. With essential oils. Such baths have a beneficial effect on the skin around the nails and cuticles. A couple of drops of rose oil, ylang-ylang or sandalwood are enough.

Each preparation should end with a hand massage.

End of session

For massage, choose a greasy cream. Apply it to your hands in a circular motion and massage your hands. Such gymnastics will help you get rid of the appearance of premature wrinkles. Pay special attention to your fingertips when massaging. In this place, all the main points from the whole body are collected.

Now, after the completed complex of preparation, you can begin to embody your creative potential.

Well-groomed hands with excellent manicure can give a woman confidence. If hand care is not difficult, since you need to constantly use a moisturizer, then your nails require special attention.

A professional manicure allows you to get perfect nails. But the procedure is quite expensive, moreover, a lot of time is allotted for this. Therefore, it is better to do it at home. To do this, you need to master simple rules.

Preparing for a manicure

To perform a manicure at home, you will need a special set, tools for removing cuticles, a solution for removing varnish, cotton swabs, scissors, a stick, 3 types of varnish.

If you want to make an image on your nails, you will need more varnishes, as well as needles, sticks. A hand bath is also needed. Before the procedure, you need to steam your nails, as this makes the process easier.

Required tools

It is better to choose a ceramic or glass nail file. A standard classic burn will damage the nail and therefore become uneven. Then you need to treat the nails with a filler and start growing.

To make it convenient to do everything, it is better to use a set for performing a manicure. They are conventional and mechanical. The first contains scissors, a nail file, cuticle sticks and nail cleaning sticks. There can be a variety of items in terms of quantity. The set is placed in an original case.

Mechanical kits are considered to be the most modern. They look like a device that works with an outlet or batteries. For work, he has several attachments that replace conventional tools.

How to do a manicure at home yourself

The most common option is a classic manicure. The procedure will require sharp instruments. You need to work with them carefully so as not to cause injury. You need to disinfect your hands in advance to exclude a drift of infection. To complete the procedure, you must adhere to the following rules:

  • Instruments need to be disinfected.
  • Rinse your hands thoroughly.
  • It is better to perform a manicure in a "working" hand.

For work you need:

  • Cuticle nippers.
  • Orange sticks.
  • Scissors.
  • File.

Hands are treated with a disinfectant liquid. Formic alcohol is perfect. Then you need to push back the cuticle with orange sticks, cut with scissors. Everything should be done carefully so as not to damage anything. A nail file is used to shape the edge to the desired shape.

Edged manicure is also called classic. During the procedure, the cuticle is removed with scissors, which results in visual lengthening of the nail. The procedure involves the following steps:

  1. It is necessary to remove the old coating from the nail. To do this, use a nail polish remover and a cotton pad. You do not need to use acetone or acetone-containing substances. These products dry out the nail, leading to brittleness.
  2. Then the nail needs to be given the desired shape and length. The corners of the nail plate are cut with scissors. Its length should be shortened to the desired size. This work is done on all nails. Then the nail is processed with a file.
  3. After that, the cuticle is removed. First you need to steam your nails. This will require hot water, into which the hands are dipped for 5-10 minutes. You can put special salt, oils and herbs in the water. Then the hands need to be dried, and you can start removing the cuticle.
  4. At the end, the nails need to be prepared for coating. For this, a sanding file is used. Compared to a conventional nail file, this tool has a soft top layer. After processing, the manicure is ready. Finally, varnish is applied.

How to make a gradient manicure

The emergence of gradient manicure is associated with hair, with the ombre technique. Hair was dyed so that the shade passed from dark to light. Then such a fashion arose with manicure.

To perform this manicure, you will need a foam sponge, plastic film, a container of water, cotton swabs, nail polish remover, 2 varnishes, and a fixer. You can choose the tones of one scale or make a gradual transition from one color to another. Gradient manicure is performed with contrasting colors.

Gradient gel polish is a great solution. More than 50 ideas.

After removing the cuticle, the required shape of the nails follows. Then a base coat is applied. The nails are covered with one varnish. It is better to choose a light shade and wait until it dries. After that, you need a damp sponge, on which a line is created using a dark varnish. Then a light line is created. Work should be done quickly so that the varnish does not dry out.

After that, the image is transferred to plastic film. It is necessary to check the drawing on paper. If everything worked out neatly, then you should attach the film to the nail. To color all your nails, you need to recreate the image. After processing, you need to remove the varnish from the skin. For this, cotton swabs are used. At the end, a fixing agent is applied, which allows you to maintain the results for a long time.

French manicure has been around for many years. This is due to its versatility, because it is suitable for ladies of any age. To create it, you need to purchase a special set. But you can use the means at hand. This will require flesh-colored and white varnish, as well as scotch tape.

It is necessary to complete the preparatory work of the nail, and then varnish. Then you need to stick a strip of tape on each tip. It will serve as a separation.

The tape should adhere well to the nail. Then you will get the perfect manicure. Then you need to paint the tip white. After it dries, you need to remove the tape. This must be done carefully. At the end, you need to apply nude varnish. In texture, it should be translucent, and then you get the perfect work. The top coating serves as an attachment.

This type of manicure began to be performed in the last century. There may be a slight color difference between the base and the plate. The shape of the nail is like a month. The base is made in the form of a lunula. This part is treated with a light varnish, for example white. And the rest of the nail is covered with bright colors. Lunar manicure is best done with long nails. The procedure involves the following steps:

  1. Prepare your nails. The plate should be degreased with a varnish remover. Then the base coat is applied and let it dry.
  2. Then you need to treat the nail with colored varnish, and wait for it to dry. After that, a special sticker is glued that covers the moon. A bright varnish is applied to the top of the nail. After a few minutes, the sticker is removed. You don't need to use it if you have drawing skills. The hole is triangular, sharp, double. You just need to dream up to get a wonderful job.

  1. Manicure should only be done in your free time, since everything should look neat. It is best to perform the procedure in a relaxed environment.
  2. The easiest way to work with. Moreover, now it is the most convenient option. Just do not cut the plate very short.
  3. You should not constantly be with varnish, because the nails need rest. If after nail varnish they become yellowish, then they should be treated with lemon juice and not washed off for a while. This will bring them back to whiteness.
  4. It is necessary to process and file dry nails. If they are wet, there is a chance of damage. This leads to various difficulties.
  5. The square shape of the nails is the most stable. Therefore, if they are unstable, then you can choose this particular form. Only then you should not cut too much.

Home manicure is not that difficult. The main thing is to carry it out according to generally accepted rules.

Video instructions for creating a manicure at home

A professional manicure is quite expensive, and a lot of time is spent on visits to the salon. Moreover, the quality of the work of even a proven master can often turn out to be very depressing. If you learn how to do your own manicure, your hands will look perfect at any time.

How to do a manicure at home? Required tools and materials

Professional manicure equipment, expensive tools, varnish collections - all this is relevant for beauty salons, as well as for those self-taught masters who already have or plan to attract a stream of customers and want to turn this occupation into a business. To perform high-quality and beautiful manicure at home, a very small set of tools is enough.

  1. File. Despite the variety of assortment in cosmetic stores, you will only need one, but correctly selected file for a home manicure. The principle of choice is simple: the thinner your nails, the finer the abrasive spraying on the instrument should be. The material of manufacture, shape, design - all this has to do with marketing, but not with the quality of your future manicure.
  2. Polishing buff. Many people think that nail polishing is not a necessary step. However, if you do it 1-2 times a month, you can achieve a much better quality manicure. Smooth nail plate provides a more aesthetic appearance of the decorative coating, as well as prolongs the durability of the varnish. Choose a four-sided buff to be able to vary the intensity of sanding and buffing.
  3. Nippers. This tool is much more important than scissors. Choose a multifunctional option that can both remove cuticles and burrs, and adjust the length of the nail.
  4. Cuticle sticks. Prefer orange tree sticks. Unfortunately, on the modern market there are many analogs that are soaked, exfoliated and begin to scratch the nail plate after the first use.
  5. Nail polish remover. A regular liquid without acetone will do. Do not fall for the tricks of marketers and buy products with oils, vitamins and other "useful" additives. Nail polish remover cannot nourish or care for nails, since it is generally advisable to rinse this product off your hands as quickly as possible with plain clean water. This tool should only remove the old varnish coating, and also help to correct the new one after application.
  6. Cuticle remover. Perhaps this is the only cosmetic product that will actually allow you to make a beautiful manicure. Especially if your cuticle is growing back too quickly.

Of course, the assortment of the department of manicure products is much wider. If you are really into this activity and decide to do your manicure at home, you may find: polishing wax, nourishing oil, medicated base coats for nails, cuticle scrub, bath salt, lint-free wipes for nail polish remover, nail polish dryer and much more. other. It should be understood that each of the auxiliary products can improve the results of home manicure, but will not drastically change the situation. Correctness of your actions is of fundamental importance.

Basic procedure for performing a manicure

If you've never done a manicure yourself, start with the basic steps. First of all, you need to give the nails the desired shape and polish them. These manipulations are recommended to be done on dry nails, otherwise you will injure the nail plate. Then immerse your fingers in warm, soapy water for 10 minutes. Take your hands out of the tub, blot them with a tissue and apply a cuticle remover to the cuticle area. Leave it on for 2-3 minutes, then gently push back the cuticle with a wooden stick. If necessary, cut off any excess skin and burrs with a pair of wire cutters. Finally, go over your nails with the smoothest side of the buff and apply a nourishing cream to them.

If you plan to paint your nails, you need to degrease the nail plate (for example, with nail polish remover), apply a base coat, and only then apply colored varnish. If you do everything correctly, your manicure will be limited to these basic manipulations. As a result, your hands will always look well-groomed.

How to learn how to do a manicure: the most common mistakes

Unfortunately, when performing a manicure on your own, you can do some manipulations incorrectly. After 1-2 procedures, nothing bad will happen, however, if you regularly repeat mistakes, the condition of your nails will begin to deteriorate noticeably.

  1. Too active nail polishing. Yes, after diligent polishing, the nail plate looks great. However, it is worth remembering that this procedure can be performed no more than 1-2 times a month. Otherwise, you will gradually thin your nails: it will be imperceptible externally, but after 10-12 months you will encounter fragility, delamination and fragility of the nail plate.
  2. Continuous cutting with scissors. It is believed that it is enough to stop trimming your nails to get rid of their delamination. The fact is that with scissors you damage the edge of the nail and unnaturally bend the plate itself. That is why it is recommended to cut down the growing length, not cut it.
  3. Cutting off hardened skin on the periungual roller. Ideally, these areas of the fingers should be sanded with a file and then nourished with cream or oil. Otherwise, after such an independent manicure, the roller may begin to dry out, coarse and crack.

If you want to not only master the art of manicure, but also actively develop in this area, use a number of recommendations.

  • watch good educational videos: often popular beauty bloggers can give really valuable advice;
  • subscribe to the blogs of popular "lacomaniacs", since girls who are keen on this topic often post step-by-step photo instructions on how to perform a manicure on their websites, share their best practices, make detailed reviews on various products and tools;
  • train on artificial nails. Buy a set of inexpensive nail tips, stick them on a hard surface and hone your skills: reshape, apply varnish and designs, try new nail techniques.

IMHO, self-indulgence)) Everything always depends on the lack of time at home for this procedure .. Perhaps the first time you will do it, but then the tweezers will be elementary faster than starting the "car"))
It's like with darsonval, for example. It's cheap, it works well, people buy it for themselves ... and that's it ... the fuse is enough for 5 times, then everything is lying around)
In "Severina" there is an excellent tool for dissolving the cuticle. Cyren gave me beauty! 10 minutes and no cuticles, bloody cuts and little time is spent on manicure.
If you are enraged by the overgrown shellac, then you need to switch to french jackets, I wear french jackets with a transparent base for 5 weeks
But if you are puzzled, the speed of the machine must be at least 6 thousand revolutions! everything else is "fart")))

If you want to really restore your nails (especially if you know about matrix damage), then stop doing manicure altogether! Temporarily:)
When they write here that they have problems with nails, then I think that they do not know what problems really are :)
From my 18 year old nail suffering. Essay. Maybe someone can help.
I did not notice the moment when my nails deteriorated. About after school, why - there are several assumptions. Dysfunction of the thyroid gland, as a result of a distorted hormonal background during puberty. It is believed that from the use of a metal file. I doubt it, because our ancestors used it for decades and had nails. My mom, for example. She still seems to be cutting like that. Nails always grew beautifully, quickly, but the tip peeled off, the peeled edge bent and broke off. As a result, it was technically impossible to grow long nails, no, the most excellent, varnish could stick on the bendable tip. As a way out, I wore short nails, which I painted only with light varnishes, which lasted for a day or two. If the tip chipped off, it was not as noticeable as with dark varnish. During this period, I concentrated little on my youth and beauty, did not think too much about any problems, the reasons for their occurrence and the fight against them. And in general, I had a very stormy life, I had no time for that, I took care of myself on the machine.
But the lack of a gorgeous manicure started to worry me gradually. I solved the problem with the thyroid gland a long time ago, normalized everything. Vitamins are good saw. But at that time it became very important for me to join the culture of nail extension :) I spent 5 years in this thankless business! I experienced all possible techniques and materials, changed a lot of craftsmen and salons. The fact that your nails are preserved under the extension is bullshit. Fiercely hated wasting time on corrections. But, such as had beautiful nails.
When I just got fed up with extensions, I decided to live with the nails that I have. With a lot of effort to treat them. The beginning was the nails cut down almost to meat after the gel. For a complete splicing of this nail. the plate took six months. My health was under control, I took all possible vitamins and dietary supplements. She even passed an analysis for calcium metabolism in the body (parathyroid hormone). Everything is okay! I do housework with gloves, I don’t wash with my hands, my dishes are not enough. What these unfortunate nails needed, I did not know !! Despair gave way to indifference that I cannot have a beautiful manicure. For the next 5 years, I tested all the methods and means for treating nails existing in the world. Prof. nail remedies (all sorts of Mawala-Creatives), folk (soaking in sea salt, lemon, iodine), advice from some famous Hollywood manicurist (to which celebrities sign up for a year). I did everything in good faith, in courses. Each time it seemed that happiness was near ... But the nail plate peeled off already to the middle of the fingertips. It looked visually bad, even under all sorts of medical coatings. Best of all, this disgrace is masked by transparent varnishes with glitter! For a long time I walked with gold sequins on my nails and I didn't care if it was fashionable or not! Then I already studied what a matrix and dividing cells are and realized that you shouldn't cut the cuticle too frenziedly, exposing the nail bed to the utmost. Then she abandoned edged manicure and switched to chemical. cuticle dissolving agents. Now I know that this is the same evil. In general, there were no nails, I gave up and began to build up again.
In building up I am an ace, the last period has been building up for myself. I have been doing this for a year. Then the nails suddenly began to literally reject the material. I drank Omega-3 (although I drank it before) and Revalid vitamins. It became clear that the nails were somehow stronger and the acrylic did not adhere to them.
And I decided to conduct another experiment. Again, the beginning was the nail plate cut down after the extension, and I got ready to splic it for the next six months. The tactic was this: stop etching the cuticle and nail bed at the same time chemical. cuticle dissolving agents; stop touching the cuticle altogether! do a manicure; support her with treatment; cut off even a millimeter of a growing nail, so that there is no free tip at all, so that nothing bends or deforms; nails are nothing at all! do not paint, only rub with oils.
As a result, I had short nails only on the pads of my fingers, which are strictly 2 times a day! rubbed with treatment. The cuticle and nail plate were always moisturized and protected, they looked good. The cuticle has grown to a certain level, then, in general, it seems to have grown to the nail. If you do not touch it for months and lubricate it with creams, then it does not fringe, does not grow and you can not do a manicure! The main thing is to lubricate it twice a day with good treatment. So I went for three months, enjoying the fact that I no longer need to waste time on manicures, varnishes, extensions. Then I saw that the growing nails looked strong, there were no signs of foliation. I decided to try growing long nails. And so, they are. A completely forgotten feeling when there are solid and strong nail tips.
For the treatment, I chose 2 products: Lash Lemon Sensation and Sally Hansen Diamond Cuticle + Nail Creme. Lasha has such an amount of cream that I smeared all my hands with it completely and still it is kind of endless. I like Hansen much more purely for tactile sensations and absorbency. In terms of usefulness, both are good, I don’t know which one helped, I use both alternately. At the same time I drink Revalid. I comply with all the conditions described above! When all the funds run out, I will consider that the treatment is over and I will not do anything special with the nails. Let's see:)

Hansen didn’t find the full line-up, but he’s just gorgeous.

Manicure is a step-by-step sequence of performing a complex of hygienic and cosmetic procedures for the care of nails and hands.

From time immemorial, well-groomed, beautiful hands were a sign of aristocracy and belonging to the upper class. The history of manicure goes back millennia. Even during the excavations of Ancient Egypt, manicure sets were found. At the court of the rulers there were special people who kept the secrets of manicure. Pharaohs' nails were stained with henna. Both women and men resorted to the procedure. In ancient Rome, a mixture of fat and animal blood was used as a polishing paste.

Chinese dynasties also grew long nails. Men - in order to demonstrate their masculinity and as an amulet, and women - to show that they are not engaged in physical labor. In Europe in the Middle Ages, the nobles also did not neglect manicure, which consisted of cutting, cleaning and polishing nails. A suede-covered stick was used for polishing.

Types of manicure and their features

At the beginning of the 20th century, a real manicure boom begins. The industry begins to mass produce manicure sets and the first nail polish. Nowadays, the importance of hand care can hardly be overestimated. A neat manicure is one of the main components of a business, solemn and everyday look.

There are 3 main types of manicure:

  • classic (edged);
  • European (unedged);
  • hardware.

For coarse cuticles and short nails, it is better to use an edged one. If the skin is thin and the vessels are close to the surface of the skin, then it is better to choose a European manicure. Hardware is versatile, it can be used in any case. It is suitable for both delicate and rough skin. Let's consider each of them step by step.

Classic (edged) manicure

First, you need to prepare everything you need for the procedure:

  • tools (nail file, scissors, nippers, pusher, file for polishing);
  • nail polish remover;
  • basic coverage;
  • drying;
  • cotton pads and sticks;
  • cuticle remover;
  • cuticle oil;
  • hand cream;
  • container with warm soapy water;
  • towel.

Treat hands and tools with an antiseptic. Remove old varnish carefully. Acetone-free nail polish remover is considered the most gentle for nails, but it takes longer and more difficult to remove polish with it.

Use scissors to trim the nails if necessary to remove the length. Give the desired shape with a nail file. You need to file in parallel with the nail in exactly one direction to avoid delamination and brittleness of the nails.

Sand the surface of the nail plate using a polishing file. Do not be too zealous, since, firstly, you can damage the nail, and secondly, the applied varnish will hold on worse.

Apply cuticle remover to one hand and immerse in a container of warm water for at least 3 minutes. Do not add oil to the water. It is better to use a neutral cleanser as a detergent component.

Draw out your hand. Pat dry with a towel. Using a pusher or wooden stick, gently push back the cuticle. It must be remembered that the cuticle protects the base of the nail from damage, so this should be done as carefully as possible. If you press hard on the nail plate in the process, the nail will grow curved. Then brush under your nails with the pointed end of a pusher.

Trim off the cuticle and excess skin near the nail using nippers. In case of cuts, treat the wound with hydrogen peroxide. Repeat all steps with the other hand.

Apply a nourishing cream to your hands and massage your fingers and palm as a whole. Allow the cream to absorb, apply cuticle oil and wait another 2 minutes. If you skip this step, then soon the cuticle will become rough again, and the manicure will look untidy.

If varnish is to be applied, then degrease the nails with a cotton swab. Apply a base coat for the durability of the varnish and to prevent yellowing of the nail plate. Apply 2 coats of varnish, if desired, decorate with drawings and dry. It will give the manicure a beautiful gloss and speed up the drying of the coating.

European (unedged) version

The steps are the same as for a classic manicure. Only the stage of cutting the cuticle after the bath is skipped, it is simply pushed back with a spatula or stick.

It is worth mentioning hot and spa manicure as a kind of European manicure. The hot one is performed in the same way as the European one. Only instead of a soap solution, warm (35-40 °) oil, balm or nourishing milk is used. Hands are immersed for 10-15 minutes. The rest of the nutrient is rubbed into the skin and hands are lightly wiped off with a paper towel.

Spa treatment involves the use of a scrub after a warm soapy bath, with which the hands are gently but thoroughly massaged. Then a nourishing mask is applied.

For a more effective effect of the mask, it is advisable to warm your hands. After 15-20 minutes, the mask is washed off with warm water without soap. A nourishing cream is applied and a massage is performed.

In the winter season or with very dry skin of the hands, paraffin therapy can be added to the spa treatment. Liquid warm paraffin is applied to the prepared skin. This mask improves blood circulation, nutrition and rapid nail growth.

Hardware manicure

Very popular nowadays. Performed without steaming procedure:

  1. First, hands are thoroughly washed or treated with an antiseptic.
  2. After complete drying, the free edge of the nail is processed with a file, giving the desired shape.
  3. Then, with the help of various attachments, the cuticle is removed, the rough skin is removed, the nail is polished.
  4. Hand cream and cuticle oil are applied.
  5. Massage of the hands and fingers is done.
  6. The remains of the cream are removed with a paper towel.
  7. If there is a desire to make a decorative coating, then the nails are degreased and varnish is applied.

The hardware manicure procedure performed by an experienced master is absolutely safe, painless and takes less time than a classic manicure.

You can successfully use it at home. To do this, you need to purchase an apparatus, preferably less power than in the salon, take lessons from a specialist and start practicing. Taking into account the fact that such care takes much less time, the nails will always be in perfect condition.

Which care to prefer, everyone decides for himself, listening to the opinion of experts. The main thing is that it is consistent and regular. Then the hands and the image as a whole will always attract admiring glances.

Modern coatings for manicure have a number of features. One of them is the necessary preparation of the nail plates before their application, which directly affects the durability of the coating and its quality. How to prepare nails for applying gel polish, read in detail below.

Required tools and materials

Preparing marigolds for staining with gel polish may require different tools. For example, it can be a fraser or a regular basic set for a home (manual) manicure. The simplest embodiment will require a scalp (special tweezers), nail scissors, a pusher with a spatula and an orange stick. You will also need a file and a soft polisher.

Since the work cannot be done without dust, you will need a brush to remove sawdust. In addition, you will need to prepare manicure napkins, dehydrator, primer and hardener (if necessary). One cannot ignore the need for a finger bath; it is also worth preparing a cuticle remover and a special oil.

Step-by-step instruction

Preparing nails for coating with gel polish is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance. However, when performing it, it is necessary to perform each stage with high quality, because otherwise the coating will not be beautiful and durable. Let's consider step by step the main stages of working with the nail plate, going from one to the other.

Hand treatment

First you need to treat the marigolds with an antiseptic. In this case, it is important not to fill the plates themselves with them, because any antiseptic has a moisturizing effect. If there is a lot of funds on the nails, this can weaken the adhesion of the nail plate with all applied layers of varnish products. After processing, proceed to a hygienic manicure.

Removing the old coating

Remove the old coating by soaking it with napkins moistened with gel polish remover. After that, the layer of old varnish is pry off with an orange stick and removed. With a hardware manicure, the old coating is disposed of by means of a cutter, and therefore liquid for removing gel polish is not needed in this case.

Shaping

Align the edge of the nails, trying to keep it the same on all ten fingers. In this case, the file is driven in one direction, which reduces the risk of gel polish detachment.

The file must be matte: it has a smaller particle size, and therefore they will not injure the plate and the skin around it. At the same time, they try to use a new or working file.

Skin preparation

First, a clear cuticle remover is applied to the skin around the nail bed. When it is applied to all fingers of the hand, they can be dipped in warm water to soak and soften. The composition of the product will further facilitate the process of cleansing the pterygium and painlessly remove the cuticle. For softening, usually 5 minutes is enough at a temperature of 30-40 degrees. After the lapse of time, the fingers are taken out of the water and wiped dry.

Scrubbing

Taking a pusher in hand, gently push the cuticle aside, lift it, turning it up. This should be done in order to make it easier to cut off all unnecessary in the future. After working with a pusher, they take scissors or a scabbard and cut off what was cleaned along the side rollers and at the base of the nail.

Hold the tool at one angle so that the cut line does not turn out to be interrupted, since this is what causes the varnish to flow behind the cuticle and the formation of burrs. After the cuticle is cut off, the orange stick is passed around the nail bed, checking if the entire pterygium is cleaned up. Everything that turns out to be superfluous is trimmed with scissors or tweezers, oil is applied to the skin.

Grinding

The nail plate has a natural gloss. When working with gel polish, it has to be removed, which undoubtedly injures the plate and makes it thinner. Therefore, you need to remove the gloss with a buff, passing it over the same place no more than three times with delicate movements. It is important to reach all the edges of the nail by removing the protective film. Missing even a small area can cause the gel polish to peel off.

Degreasing and strengthening

After the gloss is removed, the sawdust residues are removed with a special brush. After that, a dehydrator is passed over the surface of the marigold. It will degrease the surface, increasing the chances of the strength of the adhesion of the nail with the gel polish.

In order to properly prepare the nails for applying the basic composition, they often have to be strengthened. For this, a reinforcing transparent material is used, which slightly thickens the plate. If necessary, alignment is also performed using a special tool. Both types of material require mandatory drying in a UV or LED lamp. The polymerization time will depend on the type of agent used and the type of dryer itself.

Base application process

No gel polish is applied to the prepared nail without first applying the base material. It can be transparent or white, it is applied in a thin layer so that it does not flow outside the nail. They immediately form glare, which is important for a high-quality manicure. When applying the base, they are passed along the end of the nail, leaving a very thin layer of the product on it. The base is dried in a lamp.
