Festive table for children's birthday. Table for children's birthday: table design ideas, detailed menu and recipes (photo)

An obligatory part of almost any holiday is a treat. And children's birthdays are no exception. But if adult guests pay more attention to the taste, originality of the dish, then the beautiful presentation of the dish, as well as the overall design of the festive table, is also important for children. We will dwell on it in more detail, because the design of the table for a children's birthday is one of the important stages in preparing the holiday.

To make the table setting for a birthday look elegant, it must be done in a certain style. You can consult with your child and jointly choose the style of his future holiday. Surely the kid has favorite characters from cartoons or books, in the style of which you can decorate the event. If there are none or you can’t stop at one option, then it’s better to choose some kind of single color scheme, starting from which to select details for table setting.

Furniture

There are two main requirements here - convenience and safety. Since this is a children's holiday, the table and chairs should correspond to the age of the guests and the birthday person. Little guests are unlikely to be comfortable at the “adult” high table. Chairs should also be comfortable and stable.

Having decided on the furniture, let's proceed to its festive decoration, namely the decoration of chairs. Covers for chairs look very elegant, but sewing a set of covers on the eve of a birthday is troublesome and financially expensive, so there is an easier option - to tie chiffon or tulle bows on their backs. This design will be especially relevant for the girl's birthday.

Another way to decorate furniture is to hang paper garlands. They can decorate both chairs and tables.

Tablecloth

A beautiful elegant tablecloth is an indispensable attribute of a festive table, but when it comes to a children's birthday, the choice of a tablecloth also has its own nuances. First of all, it should be made of a material that is easy to wash, because where there are children, you can’t do without stains. If there is no such tablecloth in the household, lay the one that is available, but cover it with a transparent oilcloth. Or completely replace the tablecloth with an oilcloth, but choose one that suits the theme of the holiday in style and color scheme.

Even at children's parties, incidents sometimes happen when one of the guests accidentally or deliberately pulls the edge of the tablecloth and all the contents of the table end up on the floor. To avoid such trouble, fasten the tablecloth securely. As an option, tie its corners to the legs of the table.

Sometimes you can do without a tablecloth, laying a fabric or paper napkin under each set of cutlery, and decorate the table around the perimeter with a kind of fabric skirt.

Dishes

If the children have already grown up and know how to handle breakable objects, then you can put an ordinary service on the table that matches the color scheme. But if you invite kids about three years old, then it is better to protect them and set the table with plastic or disposable tableware. Today on sale there are many options for cute plastic sets, colored disposable tableware, cardboard laminated plates and glasses with various patterns and patterns. Such dishes can be chosen for the general style of the holiday and the kids will not break it. And if you stop at disposable tableware, you will get another bonus - you won’t have to wash it after the holiday.

Another option is metal utensils. But not those vintage bowls and mugs, choose a more modern option. Children will like such dishes, because they don’t have such dishes at home. And if you are planning a pirate-style party, then metal utensils will be very much on topic.

Decoration of dishes

Even on a normal day, children are more likely to eat what is beautifully and creatively decorated, and even more so on a holiday, you need to be creative in serving dishes. There are a lot of options for such a serving: sandwiches in the shape of some animal or with a small tomato in the form of a ladybug, mashed potatoes laid out on a plate in the shape of a smiley or a cutlet with ketchup-drawn eyes and a mouth.

You can also decorate meat or vegetable cuts in an original and non-standard way. Little guests will surely be interested in such dishes, even if the dishes themselves are simple and uncomplicated.

Another interesting idea is to add colors to some dishes. For example, beetroot or carrot juice can be added to the dough for pancakes and then the usual dish will sparkle with new colors. After all, it is much more interesting to eat a pink or orange pancake.

Drink design

Here, too, you can show imagination. Children will drink fruit drinks from cups at home, and you will offer them to drink it from baby juice bottles or any other small bottles of an interesting shape. Pre-assemble a few of these bottles, remove the factory labels from them and stick your own, corresponding to the theme and style of the holiday. Also, don't forget straws - kids love to drink through them.

Suitable for drinks and multi-colored glasses made of plastic. Don't go for disposables, there are reusable plastic cups that look pretty fancy, and a choice of colors will help you choose the right ones for your party.

Not a new, but a little forgotten idea: moisten the rim of a glass with water and dip in sugar - get a beautiful frost on the glass. This idea is especially relevant for a winter birthday.

sweet table

You can traditionally serve desserts at the end of the feast, removing the main dishes from the table. But this is a children's holiday, and children are very fond of sweets and are ready to eat them at any time, so it is worth organizing a separate table with sweets in the form of a candy bar that everyone has recently become fond of. Such a sweet table is set on a small bedside table or chest of drawers and decorated with signs, balls, garlands and other decor. They put a candy bar next to the wall, which is also decorated with a piece of fabric or paper.

Place small cupcakes, lollipops, chocolate bars, sweets and gingerbread in the candy bar. All sweets on such a sweet table are served in elegant dishes, and the table itself is decorated with figurines and flowers. Since our holiday is for children, figurines can be replaced with figures of cartoon characters and small toys, and fresh flowers with beautiful postcards and pictures.

Place small cardboard or plastic boxes next to the candy bar so that guests can take treats with them after the holiday. These boxes can also be decorated in the style of the event.

Accessories

These pleasant little things also set the mood for the holiday. Even simple napkins or tube labels can create a festive atmosphere and add some zest. Therefore, do not disregard their choice. If you can only buy napkins, then the same labels for juice or straws can be made by hand. This is easy to do - find a template, print and cut.

It is just as easy to make toppers for sweets - find a thematic drawing, print it out, cut out circles and attach them to a wooden skewer. These toppers will decorate your desserts. They usually decorate cakes, cupcakes.

There are also large toppers. I usually make them from wood, so it’s not easy to make such a topper yourself, it’s better to entrust this business to a professional. They are made in the form of a word. It can be the name of the birthday person, just a thematic word or the phrase “Happy Birthday”. Such a topper can be used repeatedly, so ordering it once, you will have a ready-made decor for the next holidays.

When serving, beat natural containers - a bowl of watermelon and melon peel, bowls of halves of grapefruit and large oranges, from where the pulp is extracted.

Fruit and milk jelly

Multi-layer rainbow jelly, clear jelly with whole berries and pieces of fruit, jelly cakes, often with a layer of curd - all this pleases children much more than adults. Especially if the presentation of beauty is portioned.

To do this, freeze the jelly in separate molds or ordinary bowls.

Candies from a mixture of dried fruits

Let's take walnuts and 2-3 types of dried fruits, soaked in water at room temperature and well washed. For example, prunes and dried apricots. We load the components into a blender and grind to a viscous mass, into which honey or sugar can be added if desired.

To improve the consistency, you can add a spoonful of sour cream or soaked milk powder (1 tablespoon of milk is poured into 2-3 tablespoons of water).

Summary: Children's birthday at home. Children's birthday, birthday menu. How to set the table for a child's birthday.

A child's birthday is always a special day in a family's life. I really want this memorable day to be remembered for a long time. In order for the holiday to be a success, you need to take care of both the cultural program (entertainment, competitions, draws) and the festive menu in advance. We already talked about how to organize and hold a children's birthday at home in our previous article.

If you are preparing salads, then before serving, arrange them in small salad bowls or shortcrust pastry baskets. Salads served in transparent cups look very nice. A great idea is to organize a salad bar. To do this, you need to arrange the chopped ingredients on separate plates - boiled potatoes, beets, carrots, fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, canned corn and green peas, meat, chicken, sausage, boiled eggs, greens, etc. And dressings for them - homemade mayonnaise, sour cream, butter. Children themselves put what they like and mix salads for themselves. It is important for culinary experiments to offer small plates so that too many products do not suffer due to failures.

Fruits and desserts can also be served in serving cups or, for example, waffle cones.

Children receive ready-made dough bases and fill them with selected ingredients of their choice. Pizzas are baked and everyone gets the result of their culinary research.

Another win-win option is assorted pasta. Most children love them very much. And to make the dish more festive, buy pasta of different shapes and colors, cook them (separately from each other) and arrange them beautifully on plates. You can also serve various dressings - tomato sauce, grated cheese, chopped boiled meat for “pirate pasta”.

Of course, no children's birthday is complete without a cake. The cake can be homemade or purchased, at your discretion. We recommend that you serve the cake on a special dish with a leg. Cakes, pastries and fruits located on such dishes look very festive and solemn. You can buy a dish with a leg in a store, or you can make it yourself. To do this, you will need plates of different diameters, as well as candlesticks or wine glasses. Glue them together with a glue gun. The finished structure, if desired, can be painted with spray paint from a can. Cm.

Birthday is associated with balloons, sweets, clowns, games, and most importantly - with fun. It is important that the design of the children's table fits into the overall concept of the holiday.

When decorating a children's birthday, it is important to adhere to a single idea and select everything in the same style. Recently, themed birthdays have become popular. For boys, it can be a pirate holiday, for girls - in the style of princesses.

Start serving

Making a children's holiday table, like an adult, begins with a tablecloth. Pretentious and expensive materials should remain where they were - in the closet. Firstly, children can flood them or get dirty with something. And secondly, kids will like bright, unusual tablecloths more.

It is better to use a fabric tablecloth with a pattern or a bright oilcloth. It can be polka dot, animal print or even cartoon characters. You can beat two plain tablecloths of different colors by connecting them and decorating them with bows.

An example of serving is shown in the photo.

No less important at the children's party will be napkins. They can be placed under a plate or rolled into a fancy figure and placed on a plate. You can use both paper multi-colored napkins and fabric ones with embroidery elements. The latter are not so practical, but they will emphasize the significance of the event and will not leave anyone indifferent.

A great solution for a birthday is disposable plastic tableware. Kids will not be able to break it and get hurt. This is not about banal white plates. The variety of colors of disposable tableware is amazing. And children will definitely appreciate the dishes with their favorite characters. Try to match the entire set of dishes in the same color scheme or theme.

An example of a photo with colored disposable tableware.

Additional elements in the design will not be superfluous. For example, M&Ms sprinkled right on the tablecloth. An interesting decoration will not be a boring flower bouquet, but lollipops. Little sweet tooth will definitely appreciate this move.

To make each guest feel their importance, you can tie balloons with small presents inside on the backs of chairs. When the guests disperse, invite them to pop the balloons. They will be pleasantly surprised and will remember it for a long time. You can use cards with the names of guests. Place them on a chair or directly on a plate. There are a lot of options for designing such cards. (photo)

Children's holiday table menu

On the video: cooking recipe: pancake cake, fruit salad and lemonade!

Many mothers have already seen from their own experience that kids do not really like culinary experiments, especially on holidays.

The key to success is simplicity. Save complicated meals for another day. Prepare something familiar: sandwiches, vegetable and fruit salads, chicken cutlets, mashed potatoes.

At first glance, it may seem that the menu is completely non-festive, but here the design of the dishes plays a decisive role. A little patience and this banality will turn into a real feast.
Children do not like "boring" food, they tend to start playing faster. The task of parents is to keep children eating. But you can’t glue them to a chair and you can’t hold them by force, so you have to restrain them with the originality of the dishes.

An excellent solution would be sandwiches, snacks on skewers (for older ones) and tartlets (for small ones). Therefore, the menu for schoolchildren and kids will be different.

It is necessary to take into account the age of the guests and select only allowed and familiar products for them.

Salads and appetizers

Canape on skewers is a win-win option that does not require much effort - just carefully cut the ingredients into circles or cubes.

Ordinary sandwiches can be decorated in such a way that they will remain in the memories of children for a long time. Ladybugs from tomatoes (as in the photo), funny animal faces from cheese and sausage, mice from eggs - these are far from all possible options.

Peacock tail will be a tasty and healthy dish. It is prepared from baked eggplant, processed cheese, boiled eggs, cucumbers and olives. An example of the design of the dish is shown in the photo.

An original serving idea will give any salad a festive look. The main thing is that the idea is understandable to the child. Choose only those ingredients that children will definitely like.

Salads can be decorated with edible animals, flowers, mushrooms and create a whole composition on a plate.

Joy in small eyes will make you forget about the time spent in the kitchen and the efforts spent.
A simple but original idea will be mice. Blind them from a mixture of grated hard cheese, crab shelves, garlic and mayonnaise. Make the ears carrot, and the eyes with allspice black peppercorns. Decorate the plate with pieces of cheese and herbs and serve on the children's table. The success of this dish is guaranteed.

A good solution would be Mimosa with mice. Put the lettuce in the form of a head of cheese on a flat plate and garnish with boiled egg mice. The design of the salad is shown in the photo.

Taking chicken and quail eggs, you can create a mouse family.

Main holiday dishes

No need to focus on hot dishes. For a children's table, it is enough to cook one thing, for example, cutlets in the shape of stars or flowers.

Hedgehog cutlets with crispy thorns look interesting. They are prepared in an elementary way. Prepare the minced meat, form balls, stick the spaghetti (pre-break them into small pieces) and put in the oven until cooked.

Multi-colored mashed potatoes will impress the most demanding little gourmets. Prepare a regular puree and add the juice of boiled beets, carrots or spinach. In puree, you can add not only juice, but also the vegetables themselves, slaughtered in a blender. Put on a plate with a pastry syringe.

Desserts and drinks: serving secrets

All those children are still sweet. They wouldn't mind skipping all the snacks and going straight for the sweet.

Plan your menu carefully. If you're serving high-calorie appetizers and salads, it's best to opt for a fruit platter for dessert rather than a cream cake.

Serving fruit salad can also be beaten. Forget about a boring plate, serve it in a big piece of fruit. It could be melon or watermelon. Everything looks bright and juicy in the photo, you can be sure that the little guests will really like this treat.

The fruit canape can be put on the table from the very beginning with appetizers or at the end with desserts. But you need to prepare such snacks before serving.

Do not be too lazy to prepare fruit jelly (the design is shown in the photo). But show your imagination and pour it not into cups, but into half an orange peel. Multi-colored slices will surely interest the kids and will be the highlight of the children's banquet.

Even in drinks, babies prefer sweets. But don't serve boring Tetra Pak juice bags or a plastic bottle of lemonade. At least they can be poured into beautiful jugs and put on the table. But then you will have to pour drinks for everyone on your own, because they may not be able to keep the jug from pouring over themselves and everything around.

You can use glass glasses and decorate the rim with sprinkles. It looks beautiful, and, in addition, it is also delicious. Also think about decorative umbrellas in glasses.

What to give up

Organizing a holiday for a child is not at all difficult. The main thing is to approach this with love, care and creativity. In order to avoid trouble on such a special day, you should mention what not to do:

  • decorate a room or table with lit candles. It's beautiful, of course, but also dangerous. The candles blown out on the cake will be enough;
  • if you decide to put fresh flowers, make sure that they do not have a strong smell;
  • save expensive services for another occasion;
  • nothing sharp. All dishes should be convenient to eat without knives;
  • do not use small items if the holiday is for kids, they can swallow tiny items;
  • do not use synthetic dyes;
  • find out if someone is allergic to certain foods;
  • in a small room, it is better to arrange a small buffet and leave more space for games.

Menu for a child's birthday should be made according to the age of the guests and their preferences. All dishes should be tasty, colorful, healthy and balanced. The kids are sure to love the original presentation.

In order to avoid trouble, parents who organize a holiday need to find out from the parents of their little guests if any of them are allergic to certain foods, sweets, and drinks.

It should also be taken into account that children are not very neat at the table, they do not like to stay in one place for a long time and prefer simpler familiar dishes to various unknown delicacies.

And it is not necessary to cook many dishes, there may be several, but they must be distinguished by their originality. For example, you can put it in crispy shortcrust pastry baskets and decorate with vegetables.

It is also worth considering the idea of \u200b\u200ba holiday. If it is, for example, the dishes should match the theme.

1. There should not be spicy, salty, too fatty dishes on the table. Try to exclude fried foods, and snacks with an abundance of mayonnaise, pepper, garlic, smoked meats.

2. You should not experiment with salads: introduce new ingredients and add too many ingredients. Remember that children prefer traditional dishes they are familiar with.

3. If the children are very young, exclude bright fruits and vegetables from the menu that can cause allergies.

4. If you are preparing fish dishes, it must be carefully deboned.

5. No carbonated drinks. Only juices, compotes, uzvars, mineral water.

How to organize a holiday so that the children are full and satisfied?

We bring to your attention the menu for the birthday of the child (recipes with photos):

1) Sandwiches

This is a great ingredient child's birthday menu . I will not dwell on this dish in detail, since two articles are given to it on our website:

But I want to note that for the preparation of sandwiches it is advisable to use ingredients familiar to children and decorate them beautifully.

2) Festive canapes

Canapes are very popular with children due to the fact that they are tiny and easy to use thanks to skewers. Canapes are prepared from various products: vegetables, fruits, berries, cheese, eggs, mushrooms, sausages, etc.

Let's take a closer look at how to cook canapes.

For example, canape with sausage and tomatoes

Ingredients:

- 1 baguette of black grain bread;
- 200 g of boiled sausage;
- 1 sprig of small tomatoes;
- 150 g of processed cheese;
- a bunch of lettuce leaves;
- parsley greens.

Canape preparation:

Cut the bread into slices and brush with melted cheese. Place a lettuce leaf on each slice.

Fold thin circles of sausage in four and pierce with a skewer, putting a small sprig of parsley inside. Cut the tomato in half and chop on a skewer.

Canape with boiled pork and cucumber

Ingredients:

- White bread;
- ham;
- butter;
- olives;
- dill;
- cucumbers.

Canape preparation:

Bread cut into triangles, brush with butter. Lay out the bacon. Cucumber cut lengthwise slices, strung on skewers. Garnish with olives and dill.

3. Festive tartlets

To prepare holiday tartlets, I buy molds in the store, and prepare the filling myself. It can be meat, vegetable, fruit or fish salads, pates. Molds are filled with salads and beautifully decorated.

4. Hot meals

As for the side dish, as practice shows, it should not be cooked a lot. I suggest making potato mushrooms. To do this, boil the potatoes in their skins and cut out blanks in the form of mushrooms from it. Lubricate them with sunflower oil, put on a baking sheet and bake in the oven.

Another dish that children love very much is pizza. I make two types of pizza:

- with chicken and champignons;
- sausage.

I usually buy pizza dough. I grease it with homemade sour cream and baby ketchup. And then finely chop either boiled sausage, or chicken fillet and champignons. On top I rub hard cheese on a coarse grater and decorate with slices of tomato, pepper, olives, sprigs of greens.

To prepare the barbecue, chicken fillet (without bones) must be cut into cubes and marinated.

Marinade: 3 art. spoons of sour cream or kefir, 2 tbsp. tablespoons vegetable or olive oil, 3 tbsp. tablespoons lemon juice, pepper and salt to taste.

Mix everything and season the meat. Add chopped onion. But stringing onions on skewers is not worth it - many children do not eat it. It is needed for taste and softening of the fillet.

We put the pickled meat in the refrigerator for 10-12 hours.

Thread fillet pieces onto skewers. Fry in a pan until golden brown in a large amount of vegetable oil.

5. Sweet table
