We knit with melange yarn. Winter pullover knitted from melange yarn. On a round yoke

At all times, things made with one's own hands have been valued. There is no shortage of clothing choices in today's world, but a crochet top will be unique and one of a kind. It is important for girls and women to be able to please themselves with new clothes without leaving home. In this article we will look at a simple crochet top pattern for beginners that every girl can do.

Knitting flowers

This top is perfect for walking on warm summer days. Under it you need to wear a thick tank top with straps or sew a lining to the finished lace product.

We will need one skein of cotton yarn of any color. The length of the thread in a skein is at least 500 meters, it is advisable to use a hook number 2 or 3.

For the front side, we cast on a row of air loops about 40 centimeters long (we take lengths for 38/40 European sizes).

For the back of the top, we also make a chain of the same length, 40 cm. We repeat knitting according to step 2, but the height will be already 40 centimeters. By adjusting the height for the front and back, we determine the length of the future topic. This way the height of the front and back are equalized.

For the sleeve, we crochet a chain of 20 centimeters (the width of the sleeve will depend on this chain), knit according to point 2 and at the same time decrease the rollback of the sleeve. All that remains is to tie the neck of the top using double crochets and sew all the elements together. We knit the bottom in the same way as the neck. For greater decorativeness, we tie the sleeves, using point number three in the diagram above. This top would be good for a 10 year old girl.

Zigzag pattern

Zigzag knitting is very easy and is a good pattern for beginners. With this pattern, alternating thread colors is important. It will not cause any difficulties in execution. In order to knit such a top, you need to stock up on 0.1 kilograms of yarn in colors that will alternate, in our case it is turquoise, light blue, white and blue. And a hook size 2.5.

You need to alternate colors every four rows, so the pattern will not go astray and the width of the stripes will be the same, but you can experiment and make some stripes wider or narrower. The knitting pattern for the zigzag pattern is shown below.

First, we cast on rapport pattern 16 and add 3 lifting loops. The first row is knitted with simple double crochets to form a bend, after 5 double crochets we add 5 double crochets to one common top. Next again, 5 columns in one direction and 5 in the other, we make them from one point at the top. The pattern is repeated the required number of times. We knit the second row according to the pattern, alternating double crochet and chain stitches. This top will look good if knitted from melange yarn.

"Coral Zigzag"

Beautiful openwork cotton top. It will take a little more effort to create it, but the result will be very pleasing. This pattern is used to knit blouses for 1 year old children.

We choose the yarn for the top according to our preferences, but the ideal option would be 100% mercerized fine cotton. Yarn length is 250 meters. You will need two hooks, numbers 1.5 and 2.

Knitting process

For the back, take hook number 2 and cast on 150 simple loops. Starting from the diagram, we knit a rapport of 19 loops, repeat 8 times. When we reach a height of 28 centimeters, we take a smaller hook, this is where the waist of the future top will be. When we pass the waist height, we take the previous hook again. Leave room for armholes. We don't knit them. When we move 20 centimeters away from the armholes, we leave room for the neckline and also do not knit it. The diagram is located below.

For each shoulder you will need 4 rapports. The right and left sides must be knitted separately for another 1.5 cm. The back is ready.

Similarly, we begin to knit the front, like the back. At a distance of 18 cm from the armholes, we leave 4 center repeats for the throat unknitted.

To assemble all the parts together, just sew them together. Then we process the neck and bottom of the product with picot columns. The top using the coral zigzag technique is ready.

"Bat"

You will need yarn, about 250 g. Hook No. 4. To knit this batwing lace top, you need to start the process not from the sleeves, but from the center front or back.

The fabric will be knitted crosswise, from sleeve to sleeve. The shoulder seam in this top is not necessary; you can knit it in one piece.

Japanese openwork motif

This “Lily” top looks light, elegant and airy. It's easy to knit. Descriptions and diagrams are presented below.

The back is knitted in the same way as the front, but without leaving a neckline. We tie the neckline and armhole of the “lily” pattern with half columns and “crawfish step”.

On a round yoke

A wonderful summer option for a top with a round yoke. The diagram is presented below.

The yarn for such a top should not be thick or warm. It is better to limit yourself to cotton threads.

Only some variations of creating a top with your own hands were considered here. Experiment and everything will definitely work out.

Let's talk about melange yarn. Many needlewomen pay special attention to melange yarn. And this is not surprising. Not only does it look interesting in the product, but using it, you do not need complex and intricate patterns. She loves simplicity. Even simple front and back stitches look great when done with melange thread. Socks and mittens are knitted from melange yarn, as well as other clothes and accessories, pillows and blankets. Products made from it are interesting and original due to their texture and color. So let's take a closer look at melange yarn: how to compose it, where and how to apply it. In some cases, melange thread will be simply irreplaceable.

There is often a misunderstanding of the difference between the concepts of “melange yarn” and “section-dyed yarn”. Let's try to sort out this confusion and understand what the difference is in these concepts.

So what is melange yarn? The word melange comes from the French word mélange and means mixture. The concept of yarn melange refers to the mixing of yarn of two or more colors or shades into one thread. Threads can differ not only in color, but also in texture, quality and composition of the threads. That is, melange thread is obtained by twisting already dyed threads - this is the main difference from section-dyed yarn.

Section dyed yarn is yarn that is dyed in different colors and shades sectionally, that is, the color of the yarn changes after some period of yarn length. Sectional yarn is initially spun from colorless fiber, and then the finished thread is dyed in parts at certain intervals. You can read more about section-dyed yarn in the article “Section-dyed yarn.”

And now let's return to melange yarn again.

The use of melange thread often produces interesting effects:

  • For example, combining several shades of gray will give the effect of a gray marble pattern;
  • To obtain the effect of malachite cloth, several threads of various green and blue shades are mixed.
  • The combination of stripes with melange will be interesting, and it will look elegant.

Among knitting enthusiasts, melange thread is among the favorites. And this is not surprising.

  • One of the main reasons is to create a variety of products in color.
  • There is another very interesting property of melange threads, namely: on a fabric knitted from melange yarn, uneven knitting and color errors of the thread are less noticeable. And if this is so, then why not use this property? And this helps a lot if you really like the yarn, but the quality of the yarn leaves much to be desired. To create mélange yarn, you can use leftover yarn or used yarn.
  • Melange yarn is a good helper for beginner knitters whose knitting quality has not yet reached an ideal state.
  • Products made from melange yarn made with the simplest patterns are very interesting. This is also an undeniable plus for beginner knitters. It is better not to use complex openwork patterns for products made from melange yarn, since they merge due to the diversity and different texture of the threads. But the front surface looks great.
  • Another feature of melange yarn: the color effect of variegated fabric. A canvas made of melange yarn visually reduces the volume. Therefore, models made from melange yarn can be safely offered to overweight people.

How to make melange

Now let's look at how to make melange. First, decide on the colors: decide what colors you would like to see in the melange. Consider the following feature: melange will turn out successful if the main color that makes up the melange is a color that suits you. Let's say your color is brown. Then the following solutions will be a good combination for you:

  • brown, beige and white;
  • brown, light brown and beige;
  • brown, gray and white.

And if we take black as a basis, then the following combinations are possible:

  • black and green;
  • black, green and brown;
  • black and crimson;
  • black and brown.

When composing melange, it is not necessary to use bright colors. Use different combinations of halftones. Keep in mind that the product does not always have to be bright, based on contrasts. Use soft transitions from one color to another.

You can create an infinite number of different options for a harmonious combination of melange. Just look around you, take a closer look at what colors surround you in nature. One has only to pay attention to the flowers, the colors of animals and birds, and the wings of butterflies. Looking at the natural color, one can only be amazed at the sophistication of the tonal transition from one color to another. It becomes clear that there is no need to be clever with color solutions. You just need to repeat what nature offers. Experiment with colors and their different combinations, then you will get a unique product that no one else has.

An interesting option may be if you use threads in melange that are different not only in color, but also in thickness.
