Do-it-yourself ship made of cardboard for children. How to assemble a paper boat: step by step instructions. Ship with two pipes

Origami technique is an ancient and fascinating art, accessible to everyone. She perfectly develops attentiveness, logic and fine motor skills of the hands. Thanks to our simple step-by-step instructions, you and your child will learn how to create amazing and at the same time simple paper boats with your own hands.

We took white paper for our master class. This is no coincidence, because the boats can be decorated at your discretion. In addition, not everyone has specialized origami paper at hand. So how to make a paper boat?

DIY classic paper boat

The first model is a classic boat made from A4 sheet. To fold such a boat out of paper, follow this procedure:

Take an A4 sheet and fold it in half across the paper. Then start bending the resulting workpiece again. But not to the end, but only by splitting the corners a little, as shown in the photo.

Fold the top-left corner towards the center, focusing on the marked line.

Fold the second corner in the same way as the first. Run your finger firmly along the fold lines to make them as thin and smooth as possible.

Fold the bottom free edge up to the line of the previously folded corners.

Do the same with the second free edge.

Then you will need to secure these edges to the model, making them a kind of corners.

Do this for both edges.

A triangular pocket has formed inside the workpiece. Expand it.

Fold along opposite fold lines.

You got the pocket again, this time in a square shape. Bend one free edge of the workpiece diagonally.

Do the same for the second edge.

Take the resulting model by the edges and gently stretch.

Fine! You made your own paper boat according to the classic scheme.

How to make a boat out of paper?

The second model is a two-pipe motor ship. This wonderful boat floats well on the water and has such a bizarre shape that few people can resist the desire to create a copy of it on their own.

To make a motor ship, you will need an A4 sheet and scissors.

Fold the sheet as shown in the figure and cut off the excess edge. You have received a square from which you can make a motor ship.

Take the resulting square sheet, and bend it diagonally to make a cross like this.

Bend one of the corners across to the center. Repeat this operation with all the remaining corners.

Turn the workpiece over. Similar to the previous point, bend all corners towards the center.

Turn the workpiece over again. Bend all the resulting corners back to the center.

Turn the workpiece over again. No, you don't need to fold the corners anymore. Open one pocket as shown in the picture.

Open the opposite pocket.

Unfold the workpiece.

Fabulous! You have made a paper boat.

DIY paper boat in the shape of a sailboat

This scheme is easier to follow than the previous two. This type of paper boat is not intended for sailing. Falling into the water, it falls on its side. But as a land toy, it looks great. In addition, if you make many sailboats of different sizes, you can use them to decorate the interior.

Like a motor ship, you will need to make a square from A4 sheet.

Take a square piece of paper.

Bend it diagonally.

Fold the sheet along the second diagonal and unfold. Before you is a blank with outlined lines.

Bend one of the corners across, with a sharp edge towards the center.

Bend two more corners in the same way. Get an envelope.

Bend the bottom of the envelope in the opposite direction, retreating from the edge by about 1 cm.

Fold the workpiece in half to break the center diagonal to the other side.

Attention! The most crucial moment! You need to fold the workpiece, directing the center inward.

Fold up the bottom edge of the workpiece, this way you get a support for the sailboat.

Fine! Your luxury sailboat is ready!

How to make such a sailboat is also shown in this video:

These three simple schemes will keep you and your child occupied for several hours, and the result is a variety of DIY paper boats. It remains only to decorate or decorate them at your discretion and put them on the water!

Recently, decorative items that are created from recycled materials or from materials that are conventionally called garbage, for example, cardboard boxes from under equipment, are in fashion. On the other hand, it has become fashionable to create various figures and models of equipment out of paper. In this article we will try to create some interesting cardboard ship models. For some of these models, you will need ready-made templates, and some products can be created without diagrams, using your imagination. At the end of the article, you will definitely find a video tutorial that will help you consolidate your knowledge and create an interesting product from improvised means. Let's not waste time, prepare materials and start creating.

Templates

Let's start by trying to create a ship using templates. They are easier to work with. What you need:

  • thick cardboard (you can use an old box);
  • scissors;
  • pencil;
  • ready-made template;
  • glue or tape;
  • colored paper and other decor.

First you need to print the template and transfer it to the main material. By the way, if you are using cardboard that is not too thick, then the template can be printed directly on it.

You should get about the following details:

Next, you need to dilute a little PVA glue with water, cut ordinary paper into pieces and, dipping them into the solution, glue them to the base of the ship. Remember the papier-mâché technique. It is better to connect the parts of the ship themselves with tape.

It remains now to arrange the blank with the prepared decor. It can be colored paper, wrapping paper, fabric. The ship can also be painted with regular watercolors.

You also need to make a mast for the ship. You can use a regular twig and some thick cardboard round timber.

Any boat must have a flag. For it, use a cloth and applique made of paper or material. The sail can also be made of cardboard, use toilet paper rolls.

Making a big ship

This option is suitable for young children who like fun games. For such a ship, you will need a large box. It can even be packaging from under the refrigerator or from a large TV.

First, you need to connect the box valves and make the boat's sharp bow. On the sides, you need to cut a few rounds to make improvised portholes. Use a thick stick and cloth to make a flag. Use paints to paint the ship.

Do not forget about details such as the anchor - it also needs to be made of dense material and decorated. A large cardboard ship with your own hands is ready to sail through the endless expanses of the apartment.

We use matchboxes

Let's call this modeling, because we will create an entire ship from several matchboxes. What you need:

  • cardboard;
  • glue;
  • matchboxes;
  • wooden skewer or thick paper;
  • colored paper;
  • felt-tip pens;
  • scissors.

First you need to glue together two matchboxes with short sides. Glue another box on top in the middle.

Now you need to cut out a rectangular piece of paper and glue it on top to the structure.

Now we need to cut a strip out of thick colored cardboard, with the help of which we will shape the bow of the ship.

Now you need to cut out a piece of cardboard that will correspond to the contours of the ship, take a look at the photo:

Now the bottom and top of the ship need to be held together with glue. Next, you need to make a mast. You can use a wooden skewer or twist the A4 sheet very tightly and secure the tip so that the sheet does not unwind.

A hole must be made in the upper matchbox of the ship so that the mast can be inserted. Remember to use glue.

Now it remains to cut out the sails from colored paper, paint them and attach them to the mast.

The matchbox ship is ready! It can be made wider and taller by using more matchboxes. If you use very thick cardboard for the bottom of the ship, then it is quite possible to launch it on the water and participate in competitions for the title of the fastest boat.

DIY cardboard spaceship

We suggest using a fairly simple option that will literally create a 3D model. To do this, you need to cut out several identical parts from cardboard, but in different sizes. The parts must be fastened together, but between them, either a thin piece of foam rubber, or a small piece of thick paper. It will look something like this:

Or like this:

An entire space station can be made using cardboard toilet paper and duct tape sleeves.

Use silver foil, a pair of compasses, a black felt-tip pen, and a simple pencil to give the spaceship a realistic look.

Cardboard is a fairly convenient and easy-to-use material, but if you know a few nuances, the work will seem even simpler, and the product itself will turn out to be neat:

  • when working with very dense material, use fairly sharp scissors, or even better, a clerical knife;
  • before bending the cardboard parts, it is better to draw along the dotted lines with the not sharp side of scissors or an old pen that does not write, then the material will bend neatly and evenly;
  • not in all cases a glue gun can be used. For example, if you work with thin material, then it is better to use office glue or PVA;
  • work in a room where the humidity is not too high, otherwise your products may exfoliate or parts may not stick together;
  • the room should be light, it is desirable that there is a window that can be opened and ventilated;
  • and we always advise you to work only in a good mood.

How to make a ship out of cardboard with your own hands - a few more interesting options

We would like to offer some more interesting and beautiful options for ships that you can make with your own hands.

In this case, a milk carton, cartons and sleeve are used.

And this is a luxury boat made from a regular cardboard box.

With a little practice and imagination, you can end up with such a beautiful pirate ship made of cardboard with your own hands. We always advise you to involve children in your creativity. They will be especially pleased to know that they are creating a boat just for themselves. In parallel, you can think of a pirate costume, as well as make a telescope, a hat and a cardboard knife out of cardboard. Such participation of children in creativity helps to develop their imagination, attentiveness, perseverance, the desire to create something for themselves with their own hands. Be sure to involve children in cleaning. Explain to them that you need to put all the materials behind you, put them in their places, and also need to clean the workplace so that you can do your creativity again later.

Rains and streams create conditions for kids to launch homemade boats. Games like this will turn walks into pleasure, and creating homemade masterpieces into an exciting adventure. Any dreams can be easily realized from paper, cardboard, tubes, wood, polystyrene, walnuts, vegetables, in different techniques.

Cork ship

There are always bottle caps. This is the easiest way to create crafts for the little ones.

Three plugs need to be glued - this is the base of the future ship. The role of the mast will be performed by an ordinary toothpick. The sail can be, for example, a piece of colored paper. In 2 places we pierce the sail with a toothpick, attach it to the central plug - our ship is ready to go.

To steer the ship, you can attach an eye pin to the outer cork. Tie a strong thick thread with a spool behind the eye of the pins. Now the child can use the rope to pull the ship where it needs to be or return it if it floats far away.

Ship made of cardboard

For this we need cardboard milk packaging. Cut one long side completely, from the outside for beauty, you can paste over the product with colored paper.

The side parts can be made curly, for example, the center can be made just below the nose. Decorate the craft with a drawing, write a name. You can cut a small round hole - a porthole.

In the center we fix a mast made of a thin stick, a sail on it. From the central sail, you can stretch a rope to the bow of the ship, hang the 2nd sail.

For control, fix a strong thread with a spool on the nose of the product.

A more complex, but effective frigate can be made of thick cardboard, which remained after the acquisition of equipment or phones.

Master class on crafts of a boat

Exactly according to the patterns (see the diagram), cut out the base of the boat (deck of 3 parts and the bottom), then glue it with tape or tape.

For a pirate frigate, round embrasures cut from 2 sides at the stern look good.

To hold the mast, you need to glue several small circles of cardboard or cotton pads, making a hole in the center of the required diameter of the mast.

Then glue these circles with the mast and sail with double-sided tape or glue to the bottom of the frigate.

Color the product or paste over with colored paper, more often children want blue with white anchors.

For craftsmen, you can decorate the nose of the frigate with a dragon or sea maiden. This was the practice in past centuries.

A boat made of wood

You can collect small twigs that have fallen from trees in the public garden (park). Use strong threads or a glue gun to join the twigs together to create a raft. Along the edges of the branches (across all), fasten 2 branches for the strength of the structure.

An ice cream stick, if split in two, makes an excellent mast. A piece of cloth or paper will make a sail. Wrap the mast with it and you can send the yacht on the way.

Styrofoam boat

Let's take another do-it-yourself boat craft. If after the purchase there is a foam box left, do not rush to throw it away. This is a great material for building a yacht!

The small box can be used in full, fix the mast stick inside.

You can stretch dense threads from the mast to the corners of the boat, hang multi-colored flags on them.

You can cut a small piece out of the large foam for the base. Glue 1-2 pieces of foam plastic on top - guns. Pierce the cannons with small sticks or matches, they can be painted with felt-tip pens in different colors: red, yellow, blue.

From an ice cream stick, make a mast with a colored flag, it can be a solid color or a white leaf can be painted with pirate symbols.

Matchbox ship

Bright volumetric crafts of boats with their own hands are obtained from matchboxes.

You will need:

  • matchboxes - 3 pcs.;
  • cardboard;
  • colored paper (yellow, red);
  • straw for drinks - 1 pc .;
  • scissors and glue.

Detailed instructions on how to make a boat:

Matchboxes need to be glued: box 2 with short sides, and the third box from the top in the middle (looks like a typewriter). Wait until it is completely dry.

Cut off a strip of colored paper equal to the width of the box and the length to A4.

Then you need to glue our 3 glued box on all sides, as shown in the picture. For example, you can take blue paper.

Cut a strip of dark (blue) color 1-1.5 cm wide from cardboard (thick paper). We bend it in the middle, we get the bow of the ship. Glue this strip to the sides of the boxes, and the ends of the paper should be closed by the matchboxes. The bow of the boat will be sharp and empty.

Draw the outline of the craft on thick paper (cardboard) - this will be the bottom. We fix the bottom with a side on the bow of the ship.

It is convenient to make the mast from a plastic straw for drinks, if not, you can twist thin straws from plain paper. We begin to twist from the corner diagonally of the sheet. Make a small hole in the upper matchbox for the mast.

We grease it well with PVA glue for better bonding and insert the mast into the box.

Sails can be made from 2 pieces of colored paper of different sizes, preferably bright yellow (red). On the sides of the short sides, you can make even holes for the mast with a hole punch.

Separately of a different color (for example, blue) we make a double flag, as shown in the figure.

We pass 2 sails through the holes, you can paint them. On top of the mast, glue the flag. Since we have a double flag, it will hold the sails.

The guys love pirates, which means they need to draw the emblem of the pirates on the sails.

Original boat ideas

The base of a pirate frigate can be a plastic bottle or shampoo bottle. Pierce them with a wood skewer, glue the sail and flag. Make sailors out of bottle caps, dress them with multi-colored outfits: kerchiefs and clothes (glue a piece of fabric). Draw faces and fix the figures to the bottle, bottle.

For a deep boat, for example, raw zucchini is perfect. Cut the middle in the center, insert the tubes with large leaves from plants on the sides (paper can be used), plant the sailors (pupae). It's easy to scribble the name of the boat on the side.

Boats are one of the most popular craft topics. Many handmade toys will float well and give children unforgettable emotions. In this article, we will tell you how to make a ship quickly and easily with your own hands from various available materials. All instructions are suitable for beginners and for co-creation with children.

How to make a ship with your own hands out of paper?

Paper is one of the most common and affordable craft materials ... It is very easy to make a paper boat with your own hands thanks to a step-by-step photo with a description, which can be seen below.

  • We fold a sheet of A4 paper in half. You can take both color and white.
  • Bend the right and left corners from above to the center line.
  • Fold up the top layer of the bottom rectangle. We turn the workpiece over and bend the second layer of paper to the other side.
  • We bend and fix small corners inside the workpiece on both sides.
  • We bend up the sharp bottom corner.
  • Fold the triangle down the center to create a rhombus.
  • Pulling gently by the corners, we move the workpiece apart, we begin to form the boat.
  • To give the figure volume and stability, we straighten the bottom.
  • The paper boat is ready! You can decorate it as you wish.
Ship from a plastic bottle.

The basis for this original craft will be an ordinary plastic bottle. In addition to it, you will need wooden sticks (for example, Chinese), 3 carnations (2 small and 1 large sticks in diameter), threads and scissors, glue, colored and white paper.

First, you need to make 3 holes for sticks with a red-hot nail on one straight line: near the lid, in the middle and between the middle and bottom of the bottle.

We drive 2 small carnations into the bottom of the bottle, they can also be heated before that.

Insert 3 sticks-masts into the prepared holes and coat the holes around them with glue.

Cut out sails and flags of different shapes from paper of suitable colors. We fix them on the masts, piercing them with sticks. We wrap the flags on sticks from above, smearing the paper with glue. We wrap the sailboat with threads imitating ropes, starting with the bow and the horizontal mast (bowsprit).

To fasten the masts with threads, we use carnations driven into the bottom. In order for the toy from the bottle to stay well on the water and not topple over on its side, you need a simple ballast: by unscrewing the lid, pour a little sand inside.

How to make a boat out of cardboard.

In the next master class, we will make a cardboard sailboat with our own hands.

To make a cardboard boat, you will need a sheet of cardboard, paper, glue and tape, 2 wooden sticks, scissors. In addition, you need fabric and thick threads for the sail, paints and brushes for painting the ship.

First you need to draw and cut out the details of the future boat from cardboard:

To glue cardboard blanks together, we use strips of adhesive tape.

To make a mast, you need to cut out several round cardboard blanks and string them onto a wooden stick. We install the resulting structure on the bottom of the boats and glue it.

Now you need to paste over the surface of the craft with paper. To do this, we dilute the PVA glue with water 1 to 1, put pieces of paper in the solution (you can cut it or just tear it with your hands) and glue it.

When everything is ready, the boat needs to be dried and then painted.

Let's start making the sail. On the second wooden stick (of a slightly smaller diameter) we wind a piece of fabric and attach the stick to the mast (at an angle of 90 degrees), wrap it with thread.

If you wish, you can draw any coat of arms directly on the fabric. The boat is ready!

How to make a boat out of polystyrene.

Consider the following method of making a boat from scrap materials. Such ships float just as well, but they must not be overloaded.

For the craft, you will need a piece of rather thick foam, a wooden stick, thread and fabric for sails, a long nail and matches, tape or glue, a sharp knife, sandpaper, paper and a pen.

  • First, you need to draw and cut out a pattern on paper for half of the future boat (since both sides must be perfectly symmetrical).
  • Using the pattern, we transfer the contours of the bottom of the boat to the foam with a pen.
  • We cut out a piece of foam with any sharp knife (the blade should go exactly perpendicular). Grind irregularities with sandpaper.
  • Optionally, you can gouge a recess in the middle, where you can put the sailors. In this case, the sides should be even in thickness.
  • Around the center we make a hole for the mast (not through). We insert a stick, the length of which should not be more than the length of the ship (otherwise the ship may turn over). We glue the mast with double-sided tape, if not, with glue. At this stage, it is worth checking the stability of the boat on the water.
  • We sew sails from scraps of fabric. You should have drawstrings into which you can insert threads.
  • Insert and glue in 2 matches for attaching threads - on the bow and stern. For a better fastening of the threads, we make small notches on the mast - at the top and bottom. We set the sails. We attach a pennant at the top of the mast. The boat is ready!

Another interesting craft idea is to decorate a small vase with sweets in the shape of a boat. This original boat can be a great gift for any occasion.

For those who want to learn new ideas for creativity, we have prepared a selection of video tutorials on making boats:

You can create various crafts from a sheet of plain paper. For example, fold a boat and send it on a short trip to a lake or small body of water. While doing this, people did not think that they would learn the basics of origami. To make a boat out of paper, you need to fold it in a certain way, following the detailed instructions.

Even kids can handle this craft.

Simple boat made of A4 paper

The manufacturing technique resembles the creation of a paper airplane. The master class begins with the selection of paper. Better to take a regular A4. The office sheets are quite thick and white, making it possible to color the finished craft at your discretion.

Instructions:

  1. Turn A4 over, bend it, but not completely, but only outlining a corner from above. Expand again. The fold is clearly visible.
  2. Focusing on this line, first bend the left corner of the sheet towards the center. Swipe your finger along the fold, securing the result.
  3. Fold the right corner in the same way.
  4. Now tuck one of the bottom free edges up until it reaches the bottom edge of the corners that were folded earlier.
  5. Fold the second edge in the same way, but on the other side of the ship. It turned out to be a paper hat.
  6. Secure the edges by forming small corners, guided by the pattern. Do this with both edges.
  7. A small triangular pocket has appeared inside the blank. Open it and fold the product following the opposite fold lines.
  8. Again you get a pocket, only square in shape. Now gently bend the free edge, only diagonally. Repeat this with the second same edge.
  9. Grasp both ends of the workpiece and gently stretch. Ready! The classic boat is ready.

Origami boat

You can make a small boat out of paper. It is enough to follow the pictures showing the step-by-step manufacturing process. The technique is simple, and a child can handle it.

Instructions:

  1. Fold the paper in half and trace along the fold to indicate it. Expand the sheet. Fold both sides together again.
  2. Gently bend all 4 corners of the craft inward. You will get four small folded corners. Bend them alternately again, as shown in figure 4. The blank looks like a long flat boat with two long edges.
  3. Bend the corners from the side to the inside and turn over. The boat with a small deck is ready.

Instead of A4 white sheets, you can take a newspaper or a notebook sheet.

Ship - paper sailboat

You can make an origami boat and complement it with sails. It will turn out to be a real sailing ship - a wanderer of the sea.

What you need: a rectangular sheet of paper.

Instructions:

  1. Fold it vertically in half, press it tight and unfold it back. Press both edges into a straight fold line in the middle.
  2. Fold the upper part step by step, then the lower one inward, towards the center. It will turn out to be a square. Press firmly, now unfold back.
  3. Looking at the lines indicated by the dotted line on the indicated diagram, alternately unfold the corners from the bottom and align the folds so that a real trapezoid comes out. Do the same with the two upper corners.
  4. Turn the workpiece over. Bend it following the lines. Press firmly and gently unfold the finished origami ship - sailboat.

Steamer with two pipes

Detailed instructions with pictures will help you make a real two-pipe motor ship. The finished craft can be painted, turning the ship into either a dangerous pirate ship or a military one. Depends on the design features. If the finished craft is treated with paraffin, it will be able to swim for a long time.

What you need:

  • a sheet of paper (preferably thick);
  • scissors;
  • paints / pencils (paint the finished product if you make it out of white paper).

Step-by-step instruction:

To make a boat out of paper, first bend a rectangular sheet and carefully cut off the remaining excess edge. It turned out to be a square.

  1. Fold it diagonally again, press the fold line more tightly. Expand. Folds are visible on the paper.
  2. Bend one corner inward, pulling towards the center. Now fold all other corners in the same way. It will turn out to be a square.
  3. Turn it over and bend all of its corners one at a time, as you did before.
  4. Turn the workpiece over again and bend the resulting corners more evenly, directing their ends towards the center.
  5. Turn the workpiece over. There is no need to bend the corners. Unfold one pocket carefully.
  6. Also unfold the second pocket opposite. Now unfold the workpiece. Fine! The volumetric ship is ready. The unfolded pockets are the two large pipes of the ship.

It remains only to paint it so that the ship is colored.

You will need a sheet of paper - a square.

A boat made of colored paper

Colored paper is also suitable for making boats. The main thing is to pick up thick sheets. You need 1 sheet for the craft. This master class will help you create a large double-deck steamer.

Instructions:

  1. Lay down the paper and mark two lines there, horizontal, now vertical.
  2. Bend the bottom half of the sheet exactly in half. Now turn the workpiece over.
  3. Begin to fold both edges of the shape inward to a vertical, straight line in the center.
  4. Open the corners from the bottom of the workpiece, they will be the side of the future motor ship.
  5. Fold the upper part in half and immediately fold it up, following the photo.
  6. Bend the side corners of the workpiece.
  7. Expand the shape, now following the lines outlined earlier, fold the edges of the top of the boat towards the center.
  8. Turn the workpiece over. All is ready.

How to protect a paper boat from flooding

Having understood how to make a boat out of paper, it is now important to find out how you can protect your ship. After all, I want to test the finished ship in action, and paper boats, unfortunately, quickly get wet and sink!

Helpful hints:

  1. Use thick paper instead of newspaper or napkins. Best of all - regular A4 or landscape sheets.
  2. Following the step-by-step scheme, make a boat out of paper. Do not overload it with parts, otherwise the boat will capsize.
  3. Process the bottom of the craft with petroleum jelly. The substance repels the liquid, preventing the ship from getting wet.

Can I replace paper with cardboard? If it's thin, yes. Thick cardboard is more difficult to fold and the finished shapes turn out to be sloppy. The origami technique involves numerous folding and unfolding of the figure. Therefore, it is more convenient to use plain paper. For example, office A4 sheets.

Are dimensions important? Small boats look more beautiful. Moreover, they are easier to make. Scale dimensions require more paper. You can glue several A4 sheets or take A3, but if you make a simple boat, you need to supplement it with details. Beautifully paint, insert figures of people - passengers. But to launch such a vessel on a real voyage, of course, is more interesting.
