Lightweight and practical boho: ideas, patterns and patterns

Boho style tablecloth skirt

Why such a name? The thing is that there are no patterns as such for sewing, and the outlines of the pattern of the pattern really resemble a tablecloth. The pattern consists of a simple square in the middle and rectangles on the sides, and such a model can be sewn in just a couple of hours.

Beautiful folds

For such a tunic, even a pattern is not needed. A circle is taken, folded four times, a sleeve and a cutout for the neck are outlined.
Such a dress is cut according to the same principle. Only instead of a circle - a square. And the skirt of the dress is made like a tablecloth skirt, see above.

White linen dress looks more interesting. Please note: the sleeves are wider, and the neckline is larger here - it beautifully exposes the shoulder.
Outline of white and yellow linen dress close up

As such, there is no armhole, the width of the sleeve is about 27-30 cm, narrower in yellow, wider in white.
It turns out that we take a fabric with a width of 140 and a length of 280, fold it in half - this is the length of the dress, and again fold the width in half and cut it. But the width of the sleeve was measured 30 cm and then there is an oblique line to the waist, you put off the width of the dress: the girth of the chest plus the freedom of fitting.

These models are loved by many for their freedom and comfort.

But on this we do not say goodbye, come back again!

Here you will find patterns for boho patterns. The boho style originated in France in the 15th century. Gypsies who lived in Bohemia are considered its founders. They dressed loosely and casually, which aroused the indignation of local residents. From the gypsies, this type of clothing was adopted first by students, and then by a wider circle of people. Today, boho clothing can be found in a huge variety. We invite you to consider simple boho patterns.

Features for

Boho style is also called bohemian chic. It has its own distinctive features:

  • It is based on freedom, ease, naturalness, a non-standard combination of things, elements, giving chic to the whole image.
  • A lot of jewelry is required: beads, beads, lace, ruffles, ribbons, pendants, medallions, pockets and much more.
  • The main item of the wardrobe is a boho skirt. The patterns are most often in the form of the sun, wedges, with frills. Layering is encouraged.
  • Bright, but not flashy colors, contrast, print, ethnic colors.
  • The fabrics used are exclusively natural.
  • External negligence is carefully thought out so that the clothes do not look ridiculous.

People who prefer boho clothes, as a rule, are creative, enthusiastic, free internally. This style has become very popular for obese women. Not because it allows you to hide the features of the figure. The main advantage of boho is to emphasize femininity and attractiveness.

Boho is a style of clothing that involves a combination of seemingly incongruous things. For example, light dresses with coarse boots, scarves over lace and layered skirts. In fact, in order to wear such an image, you need to have an extraordinary taste and sense of proportion, otherwise you can earn a reputation as a madman or a clown who escaped from the circus. The main difference between boho is a loose fit, it can be worn by people of different physiques, and sewing is as easy as shelling pears even for the most novice needlewoman. How clothes are sewn in an interesting boho style quickly and step by step with our own hands in a detailed selection with patterns, we will consider in detail.

Learn to sew boho style clothes with your own hands with patterns: model selection

The main models of the style are floor-length skirts with many frills, vests with fur or ethnic patterns, knitted long cardigans, wide tunics embroidered with beads with a wide belt. Fabrics are taken in natural plain colors or with a bright pattern, and the colors can be different: from delicate shades of pastille to dark wine color.

Having chosen the style you like, we proceed to work with the pattern. On the limitless expanses of the Internet, there are many different schemes for every taste. But it is quite simple to create a personal model, having a basis - a regular pattern with your own dimensions.

Blouse.

Let's start with the simplest - loose-fitting blouses.

To make a pattern, two sizes are enough: the width and length of the product, the rest is cut at your discretion (for a beautiful fit).

  1. Cut out the upper fragment and the lower one equal to the waist. Moreover, to create gathers on the belt, on the main piece in the belt area we make it wider than half of the waist.
  2. Gather the main part at the bottom and attach it to the belt.
  3. Sew the side seams.
  4. We sew the edges of the sleeves and the neckline.

The result is a stylish and at the same time simple dress.

Now let's complicate the task and make a shirt dress, a universal model that can be worn freely or under a belt, the length can be different, the only thing is that the collar will be shirt, although here you can experiment - make it not ordinary, but a semicircular or stand-up collar. We choose cotton, linen or staple fabric.

Details for a cut.

When cutting out details, add 1.5 cm to the seam allowance, add 2 cm at the bottom.

  • Shelf with a yoke - 2 pcs.
  • Backrest with yoke - 1 pc.
  • Sleeve - 2 pcs.
  • Collar top - 1 pc.
  • The lower part of the collar - 1 pc.
  • Cuffs - 2 pcs.
  • Non-woven
Work description.

After all the necessary parts have been cut out, we start processing.

  1. The first thing that is sewn is yokes with a shelf and a back, then the shoulder seams, then we move on to small details.
  2. Let's take care of the collar, measure it to the neck, it should be the same length. The upper collar should be 1-2 mm wider and longer so that after stitching the seam is not visible (it will go to the back side). We glue all the fragments with non-woven fabric using a damp cloth and an iron.
  3. Fold the two halves facing inward, mark, bend, check symmetry and mark the middle. If everything fits, we sew the top edge and the side edge together, turn it inside out and iron it, making sure that the side seam goes slightly to the bottom side.
  4. Now the cuffs, it also needs to be glued with non-woven, then we sew the side sections, turn it out and also iron it.
  5. We sew the sleeves and then connect them with the cuffs, pre-chipping with pins.
  6. When all the small work is done, we start assembling the main components. First, duplicate the edges of the right and left shelves (where the buttons will be), tuck them. Sew the side seams of the dress.
  7. Sew on the collar: first pin the middle with pins, then the edges, distribute the rest evenly and attach the lower part to the neck first, then the upper one.
  8. We also sew in sleeves using pins.
  9. On the front, we make loops, sew on buttons.
  10. Lastly, we turn the bottom and hem it.

Making new clothes for your wardrobe is certainly good, but surely there are things that are not worn for various reasons, although not yet worn out, why throw them away. Now let's try to do the alteration of unnecessary clothes into a stylish outfit.

Boho rework.

We take a stretched men's sweater and a boring blouse, similar in color, although this is not necessary, the main thing is that the colors are combined.

And we turn on the imagination, we begin to create.

  1. Cut off the bottom of the sweater, cut on the sides at the bottom, making cuts.
  2. From the blouse, cut out cuts equal to the bottom edge of the sweater and sew them to it.
  3. We attach strips from a blouse to the sleeves.
  4. The collar of the sweater can also be replaced with a blouse.

For decoration, we cut out some pattern in the form of a flower, butterfly or bird from the remaining scraps of thin fabric and carefully sew it onto a sweater.

There are many options in this matter, it all depends on the things available for redoing. Everything is used: ruffles, lace, frills, knitted elements.

The main thing in boho clothes is to use the right combination and not overdo it with experiments, because the task is to look fashionable, and not an abnormal gypsy.

Having a little daughter in the house, she will probably want the same image as her mother's, to try on her toys. Therefore, the leftover fabric will not be wasted, but will perfectly suit new outfits for the doll.

How we dress, how comfortable we are - determines a lot. At the very least, this is the mood with which we move from home to work or on other matters. If a person is comfortable in their clothes and likes the way they are dressed, then they feel confident and can fully concentrate. Therefore, instead of strict business and not very comfortable bows, many people prefer to choose more comfortable styles. Most of modern things can be created independently without special knowledge in the field of hand made. Even such a young style as boho is quite simple to create with your own hands.

Textile decoration

The decor takes a special place in this style. One of the most versatile boho-style decorations is flowers. They are used as and as elements for headbands, and as decorations for bags and other accessories.

Making boho textile flowers is a separate art

When they are created, textiles are used as a basis, to which decor from various types of lace is added (antique handmade lace looks especially cute) of various shapes, sizes and colors, beads, beads, sequins, metal elements and everything that the needlewoman will come across.

To make a simple detachable brooch, you will need one strip of material for each flower. The size directly depends on the length. The width is enough 3 cm. You can choose a wide variety of decorative elements. Fold the strip of fabric so the raw edges match. After that, we begin to twist it a little. You can drip some glue to keep the starting point well enough. Thus, the center will be dense. Next, fold the fabric strip. From the seamy side, the raw edges are periodically greased with glue. Thus, we will exclude the possibility of the brooch "spreading".

After almost the entire strip is wound on the center, leave a small tip and close the wrong part with it. Then we grease with glue and close all the edges with the end of the strip. Then you can start decorating. What the final result will be depends only on the imagination of the needlewoman. There are no restrictions either in materials or techniques. Only a flight of fantasy welcomes.
