On the eve of New Year's holidays, you always want to create something wonderful and interesting, especially for decorating a house or a Christmas tree, so that everything looks original and festive. It's always a lot of fun for kids to prepare for these activities. Decorations can be made from different materials: you can crochet openwork snowflakes, decoupage ideas are very interesting, for example, the same bottle of champagne. Even lush garlands are made of paper, which can be hung from the ceiling or walls. Toys made of polymer clay or ribbons using the kanzashi technique will be real New Year's masterpieces. In today's master class, we will tell you what you can do with your own hands for the New Year!

DIY Christmas ideas: crochet snowflake

We need:

The threads are white (it will look more interesting if they are with silver lurex).

Hook to match the threads.

It is very easy to knit a snowflake, the ornament consists of groups of simple motives, for convenience it is better to draw a diagram of the future snowflake.

First, we make a ring from air. and from it we knit one link after another in a circle. We make a ring from air p with the help of a joint, it unites the beginning and end of the chain. Then at the end of each link in a circle we will make 1 ss to complete it.

We knit a ring 1 link, it has st1H and air. We knit at the beginning of the link 3 ref. and 3 st1n, then we make an arch of 3 air p and again 4 st1n in the ring. With this method we knit in a circle until six motifs of 4 st1n are made through the ring, between which there are arches in 3 air sts.

From the 3rd loop of the chain of 3 air sts of the previous link, we carry out a chain of 3 air sts. Then we knit three incomplete st1n from the tops of st1n of the previous row. As a result, one loop remains from each column on the hook.

Now we carry out the yarn over and pull the thread through all the loops on the hook at once. We knit an arch of six air p, 1 st1n into an arch of 3 air p, again 6 air p and 4 st1n with one top above the next motif from 4 st1n of the previous row. At the end of the row, instead of an arch of 6 carts, we perform st3n.

We make an arch of 6 air p - two stbn, 3 st1n, 3 st2n, an arch of 8 air p, 3 st2n, 3 st1n, 2 stbn. Now we repeat in a circular manner, as a result, 6 arches are formed from the air.

The final link is a stbn with trefoils at the top and above the st1n of the previous link. The trefoil is performed according to the principle - 2 air p, 1 lush column in the second loop from the hook, two air p, 1 ss in the same loop. Repeat it a couple more times. We knit the same trefoils over the st1n of the previous link.

We will shape the knitted snowflake, for this we moisten it with water and iron it through gauze or chintz.

DIY Christmas ideas: Grandfather Frost and Snow Maiden

We need:

Polymer clay: red, white, brown, blue.

Pastel pink.

The needle is thickened.

Toothpick.

Paints on request, it is better to choose acrylic

Santa Claus

We roll up two balls of brown clay, flatten at one end and form a felt boot. Now we take red clay and sculpt a large ball for the body of the product, we sculpt a couple of small red balls for mittens. Two pen cylinders and a conical cap.

Mix more white clay with a small amount of red to get a very light shade of pink. Roll out a ball for the head and a small one for the nose. We sculpt a pair of eyes from brown clay.

Coating with gel, we connect all the details. For stability, we stick a toothpick into the body and put our head on top. In the head, at the points for the eyes, we make small indentations, along the way making wrinkles with a toothpick. We make folds on the cap in the same way.

We sculpt a beard, mustache and eyebrows from white clay. Now we take a toothpick or a needle and draw a relief and texture on them. We roll smooth sausages from the same clay, which will later be used as a fur decoration for hats and fur coats.

We fix the eyebrows, mustache and beard on the face, placing everything in its place, not forgetting to fix both the decor for clothes and the pompom on the hat, also making an texture on it.

Now we bake the figure for about 30 minutes and after it cools down, apply pastels on the cheeks and nose.

Snow Maiden

We sculpt boots from blue clay, a dress with sleeves, it’s a little body, mittens and a hat with a recess. Now we sculpt a ball for the face from white clay and we sculpt eyes from blue clay.

Lubricate with gel, combining all the elements, and put the hat on the ball-head. We make holes for the peephole and fix them. Now we roll the edging onto the coat and the white clay hat, draw the texture with a needle. Next, we set to bake for 30 minutes, and then, when everything cools down, we finish drawing the nose and mouth.

If you wish, you can paint patterns on your clothes, for example, snowflakes.

Enjoy your creativity!

In this master class I will show you how to make Santa Claus out of polymer clay, and then in a similar way the Snow Maiden with which we will decorate the New Year tree.

To work we need:

  • polymer clay;
  • stacks;
  • toothpick;
  • pin with a loop;
  • roller for unrolling plastic.

Before starting work, knead the plastic well. Roll a small ball out of flesh-colored polymer clay and flatten it between the fingers - this will be the head.

Now we will make the body for Santa Claus. We take red plastic, sculpt a triangle and roll it out with a roller to a thickness of about 2 - 2.5 mm.

We connect the head and torso.

We make hands from two flattened elongated red droplets.

We make a hat from a curved flattened droplet. Now we need to attach a pin with a loop to the hat so that we can use it to hang the product on the Christmas tree. We bend the end of the pin so that it does not pop out later.

We attach the pin to the back of the cap and close it with a small piece of plastic.

We attach the cap to the head.

We make boots from two flattened balls.

Now let's start decorating our Santa Claus as shown in the photo.

We make mittens from two pink balls.

Now we blind the beard. Roll a small sausage out of white polymer clay, narrow it at the ends, bend it into the letter "C" and flatten it.

The mustache is molded from droplets, the ends of which are folded, the nose is made from a flesh-colored ball.

From a flattened cord we make fur along the bottom of a fur coat.

We roll up two thin flagella of different colors, twist it together and decorate the fur coat, hat and sleeves.

We sculpt flowers and leaves from tiny droplets.

With a toothpick, draw hairs on the beard and fur on a fur coat and hat. Do not forget to bake our product in the oven, according to the instructions. Here we have such a wonderful Santa Claus. We put a string through the loop and hang it on the Christmas tree!

In a similar way, you can make a Snow Maiden.

Such crafts will become an original decoration for your Christmas tree.

In this master class, you will see how to make a figurine of a sheep with your own hands from polymer clay... But not just a symbolic figurine, but a real one Snow Maiden... The author of the master class: Bryntseva Tatiana. I think, according to this step-by-step instruction, you can mold for the New Year from plasticine to kindergarten, and from mastic to cake, that's more relevant to anyone 🙂

Such a handmade souvenir can be presented to a friend or sister. Place it under the Christmas tree or start with it to collect a collection of Christmas figures. Adding a symbolic character every year and reviewing how your sculpting skill improves every year :). I think everyone will have their own idea.

And for work we need:

2) Blade.

3) Several colors of polymer clay (yellow, flesh, pink, white, black and blue).

4) Pin of any color and a toothpick.

I am making a fur coat for a sheep. Knead the pink polymer clay (I use pink with sparkles). I roll a ball out of it and lengthen it on one side, rolling it over the surface to a conical shape. I press the bottom of the workpiece to the surface of the table so that the figurine stands flat on the surface.

I make the upper part of the fur coat. I roll an even ball in my palms and press it to the bottom of the workpiece.

I roll a thin, pink polymer clay sausage and glue it in a circle to the top of the fur coat. It turns out a collar.

I take a pin (2-3 cm long). I bite off the pin head with nippers and insert it in the middle into the workpiece. I do this in order to hold the parts together. After firing the figurines, the parts will adhere tightly to each other.

I make my head. I roll the beige polymer clay into a ball and lengthen it slightly on one side.

I put the blank of the head on the pin and press it with my fingers to the fur coat.

With a needle in the middle of the fur coat I draw a strip. Dividing the fur coat into two parts.

I make the sleeves of a fur coat. I roll out the pink polymer clay and lengthen the workpiece. With a blade at an angle, I cut off the tip of the workpiece.

I roll a ball out of white polymer clay and press it to the surface to make a cake.

I glue the cake to the edge of the sleeve. I press it with my fingers from all sides so that the clay sticks well together.

I make a lamb's handle out of beige. I roll out two balls of different sizes and slightly lengthen them from one edge into droplets. I glue the droplets to each other.

I press the resulting handle to the sleeve. Carefully, trying not to deform its shape.

I glue the sleeves to the workpiece. With a stack or finger, smoothing them at the joint.

I want to make the white details of the fur coat more airy. To do this, I often pierce them with a needle. The result is an airy effect.

I make ears for a sheep. I roll out a small ball. I roll a drop out of it and flatten it on the surface. I press the sides of the workpiece together.

In the middle of the head I glue the ears at the same distance from each other.

I roll the yellow polymer clay into a thin sausage and twist it in a spiral. This is how I get a pigtail. I do the second one, the same length.

I glue the pigtails behind the ears of the lamb and lower them in front of the blank along the sleeves.

I mark the places with a round-headed stack where the eyes will be inserted.

I roll out two small white balls and insert them into the holes.

I do the pupils of the sheep in the same way. With a needle, I apply grooves to the white plastic, slightly lengthening them up. I also attach the spout to the workpiece. I roll out a drop of flesh color and glue it in the middle of the muzzle.

With the needle I draw the smiling mouth of the sheep.

I make a hat for my Snow Maiden. I roll the pink plastic into a ball. I insert a toothpick halfway and expand the hole in a circular motion. Until the hat is slightly larger than the head of the lamb. I make a hat on my head and press it with my fingers to the workpiece. I make a thin sausage out of white polymer clay and glue it along the contour of the cap.

I loosen the surface of the backing on the cap with a needle. The same as on the sleeves of a fur coat.

I check the figurine before baking. Perhaps, when sculpting, there were visible fingerprints or small hairs and dots on it. You can remove them with a damp cloth. I remove these errors and send the statuette to be fired at the temperature indicated on the polymer clay packaging (10 minutes at a temperature of 130 degrees).

In 10 minutes. I take out the Snow Maiden sheep and decide which of my relatives I will give it to.
